1. This book does have adorable illustrations and is fun to read again and again (and again... and again...) to my 3-year-old students. My real problem is that only some of bike-riding tigers are wearing helmets! The motorcyclists and racing bikers have them, but not small children and parents. If you are concerned with setting a good, safe example for your kids, you may want to reconsider this book.

1. Harley Memorabilia by Tod Rafferty is one of those books you and your friends look at over and over. It not only makes you wish you had kept all those old Harley items, it also tells you what they could be worth on the antique market today. Tod Rafferty has touched on every collectable you never thought was worth keeping and a few that you want to run out and get. From oil cans, to sales literature. Old riding gear, to Christmas ornaments. Harley Memorabilia is the best "gee I wish I'd kept that" book on the market today. I ordered it from a local book store and it took close to 6 months to get. It was on back order. I'm not so sure that the book it's self will not be a collector item. We have enjoyed hours and hours of looking at a lifestyle that has a very rich history. I will need and new Harley Memorabilia book soon. This one I'll keep for my own Harley history.

1. This book gets the job done efficiently. The book has lots of pictures and diagrams, including wiring diagrams in the back. The wiring diagrams are complete with wire colors and destinations. I have used the book to pull the engine on my 1984 VF500F several times. The manual led me thru the process with ease. I reccomend this book to the begginer as well as the expert.



2. I have this book open nearly every time I work on my bike. It's given me a lot of confidence in many of my own maintenance activities. However, there are errors in it that if not spotted would possibly cause problems and some of the pictures suffer from horrid resolution and lack of proper light or contrast which make it a little guesswork in finding the parts in question.
   
   The index is relatively useless, leaving out a TON of shortcuts. It relies on indexing only the major sections and not usually the parts you might be looking for info on.
   
   Even so, if you have a baby 'ceptor, and aren't already inclined as a bike mechanic, this is a must have.

1. This is a fine book--much stronger than the similar one published by Bicycling magazine. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to regularly bike 25 miles or more.

   The best part of the book is it is so comprehensive and logical. Everything is covered from equipment to saddle sores. The only downside is that this is so clearly an American English translation from the British original.

   Keep in mind the famous quote about Americans and the English being "two peoples separated by a common language" and you will do fine, and learn a great deal from this book.
