1. I found this book to be full of inaccurate statements and misinformation. Right at the start the NJ State Police "era" is incorrect. Bigtwin H-D fatbob tanks were never used for oil and then gasoline as stated. They were always used for gasoline. Only the 45 utilised one fatbob for oil and the other for fuel. This is just two examples.



2. This book is an easy-to-read, comprehensive analysis of police and military motorcycles. The author's research took him around the world, and the coverage in the book is the better for it. A must-read for anyone interested in motorcycles.



3. A very nice book on my specialised subject. Good photos, many in closeup.It covered the subject in some depth with some facts previously unknown to me.

1. One of a series of Osprey motorcycle buyer's guides. I picked this up when contemplating buying a 1980s Mike Hailwood Replica. (I didn't, bad decision!) Coverage is complete for models up to 1990. The advantage of this printing over a later one is fuller coverage of some of the older models. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in exploring Ducatis. It would be five stars, but one of the later printings is better for anything after 1990.

1. I don't understand these kinds of books. I saw it in a bookstore. They're just hype and propaganda for some business that had to be bailed out of bankrupcy in the 80s because their product was outdated and inferior. H-D has brainwashed the more susceptible of people (a definite minority) and promoted a destrucive fantasy life style that destroys the lives of the majority of peace loving people. Two thumbs down on anything that promotes or romanticizes these noise-boxes. Save your romantic yearnings for the bedroom.

1. This book is well done and has useful informantion but covers too many models to be helpful on specific models. It provides a good overview and outline procedure. I bought it to aid in the restoration of a 1973 850 Eldorado but there is little specific data on the early models. Most information seems to be on the T style Guzzis '74 to '85. Good book if you have or like Moto Guzzis but get a shop manual if you plan on doing an serious work. I have also ordered Guzziology which I've heard is excellent.



2. ...unfortunately, I own a small block Lario & there wasn't heaps in this volume for me.
   I was rather concerned at the antiquated system described for painting Guzzis. The days of using a brush & enamel are (hopefully) gone. There are suitable colour codes available for the older bikes & any good car painter should be able to match your paint. Also, the method of applying transfers as outlined, scared...me! In fact, it's easy & the newer paints don't hurt them at all.
   As the paint job is (arguably) the most important part of a restoration, I think more effort could hve gone into this aspect.

   I must admit, colour wiring diagrams would have been useful & worth a few extra sheckels to obtain.
   Hard to get it perfect, but still some useful detail between the covers.
