1. I've checked them all and this is the hands down, number one best. Illustrations of almost every step. I've seen books with steps that say things like "remove the seat", but they don't give you a clue how to do it. This book will show you everything.
   
   If you're gonna keep your wing for a while, or you're gonna do some repairs, upgrades or customization, buy this book.

1. The book is good but doesnt cover all models sold during 1990 and 1998. They should tell you what is not covered so you dont waste your time!



2. This manual has the detail needed for most work. Biggest problem is in determining whether or not this manual covers your specific snowmobile. Amazon does not have this information and refers you to the publisher directly. The information is available on the publisher's website.

1. The book covers such a broad range that even my mechanic had trouble understanding the ignitions system section. Overall in other areas it was helpful.



2. Not much to say, it is a technical breakdown of a Sportster.
   
   Lots of specs, good pictures and worded so that anyone can understand it without needing a dictionary.
   
   If you have a Sportster covered by this book, you need this manual.

It has taken me close to a year to write this,cause the proof is in the pudding.I know I have done everything short of capital crimes, to get the information this fellow is GIVING you for a mere fifty dollars.From A to Z Kirk gives you ALL. I have restored pans for 20 years,Kirk my hats off to you an all who helped AAAAA+++. This is the book. I have had my nose in an out of it since it arrived.I have found everything to be right on the money. I know that`s the stuff that makes it best. The Truth. this is what it`s all about.Kirt THANK-YOU



2. I am looking into buying a Pan, and searching for more than anecdotal information. This book is the best source of Pan info I have read so far. It helped me realize that a Pan wasn't the best choice, and that I would need to spend a lot of time wrenching, instead of riding.

   I wish they'd write one for Shovelheads!!




3. This book is lacking in some important areas. No carburetors, no transmissions, no brakes. Need to know how to adjust your mousetrap, change springs on a springer, or fix a leak on your hydraulic front end? You won't find it in this book. The topics it does cover are great, easy to understand, and well detailed. The bottom line is I do use this book and it has become a permanent part of my shop library.



4. I'll keep this short and to the point. As the title says, this is the best "tool" I have in my tool chest. The information in this book has helped me more times then I can recollect. The book is written from a practical perspective and isn't full of theoretical "how to". It even includes descriptions of how to make some of the special tools you'll need from items you probably have laying around your shop. I can't wait for Vol. 2!

1. The 101 Uses for an Old . . . Series combines humor with a small, short book format to make inexpensive gifts. With a powerful masculine symbol like Harley-Davidson, I expected to be rolling on the floor with laughter on every page. Instead, I found much that was not new to me (photos of early Harleys) and not funny (such as a triangle of Harley riders on Daytona Beach in the 1950s).

   There are a few enjoyable ones:

   A man dressed in a suit sitting in a sidecar while a uniformed chauffeur drives the Harley.

   A woman in a 1920s bathing costume mounting a Harley on the beach while her male companion sits in the sidecar.

   A Harley entirely covered in a buffalo hide with the head atop the handlebars.

   Eight police officers balanced on a moving Harley in acrobatic poses.

   An ad with a police officer on a Harley being served by a car hop.

   A man dressed in a suit riding a Harley with a sidecar full of hunting dogs. It looks like a fox hunt!

   A chicken mounted on a Harley looking like rider from the front.

   A boy and his father astride matching Harleys with the kickstand down, and large identical smiles on their faces.

   A briefly clad Jayne Mansfield with hat askew, posing as a police officer pulling over a car.

   A Harley with a runner on the front and chains on the back tires to travel on frozen lakes.

   A gun-mounted, armored Harley used during the Mexican Revolution.

   A Harley with Christmas tree lights on it (a different view from the one on the cover).

   If you know someone who would like a little Harley nostalgia, and cannot afford a more expensive gift book, this one could work . . . as long as the person doesn't mind a little humor being poked at the idea of a Harley.

   After you finish inspecting the images in this book, think about how you could create a light hearted moment with your Harley.
