1. As with all Clymer motorcycle manuals, this one walks you step-by-step through everything you need to do to do everything from changing sparkplugs to rebuilding the engine. I used it replace the clutch, set valve clearance, synchronize the carbs, and many other tasks, saving myself, literally, hundreds of dollars.

1. I originally planned on buying the factory manual from Ducati for my Duc907, but quickly found out that even the Ducati mechanics recommend using the Haynes manual over the factory one. Good thing, too, because the factory manual costs $80 (if they even have it in stock) vs. $29 for the Haynes manual. To top it all off, Amazon offers if for just $19 and can get it to you the next day. Such a deal, I just bought another one for my brother!



2. Great manual, easy to follow with handy tips to help me out. There's not to many words and lots of pictures (a picture says a thousand words!)which make it clear what is being refered to and how things are done. It has ratings for each job so you know if youre up to the challange or if it'd be over your head before you even start! Using Amazon is excellent, easy and helpful! Recomend the manual and Amazom to anyone.



3. I bought this book for my 2001 900SS even though it is outside the covered year range, and I found this book to be the best Haynes manual I have ever used. It is much more user friendly in its layout and descriptions of tasks, and I found alot of good advice for the maintenance I already knew how to do, such as bleeding brakes, etc.
   
   I checked the valve clearances, and although the book was informative on how to proceed with removing the shims, etc. I did back off from that. I plan to talk to a couple of mechanics before I actually do remove the shims for replacement. Even so, the book was there with good advice: put some heavy wire into the vertical piston spark plug hole to hold the intake valve after you remove the bottom shim!

1. As usual Haynes have produced another excellent workshop manual. I have used a number of their manuals for different models of cars and always found them to be an excellent source of information and guidance on 'how to' fix a vehicle.
   I especially like the foreword covering the history of the Honda motorcycle. Th cost of the manual is easily recouped after a single repair and it gives you the satisfaction and security of knowing that you have the knowledge of how to fix most problems with the bike and also maintain it in peak condition.



2. Between this and the Honda manual for the ST1100, you should be able to tackle all routine and not-so-routine maintenance. Especially useful if you're new to (or rusty on) mc repair techniques for this engine and drive train design.

1. Good read - technical but not necessary to understand all the theory to appreciate the book. Most references are 15 to 20 years old. I was disappointed in no direct application to an engine.

1. I bought this book from another place, for my husband, X-mas 07'. I was pretty sure he would like it, but not 100%, being he's a truck mechanic & has worked on his own off-road bikes for 20+ years. However, things change & I thought there might be a new or better way to do something. So I bought it.
   
   It's 126 pages with the last 4 pages being index & resources, with full address, phone & websites listed. The Contents Page & the edge of pages are color coded, which makes it easy to jump to any of the 5 sections. Example: Bike Setup is blue, Tire & Wheels is green, Engine is red, etc.
   
   There's a total of 21 projects. Every project is at the top of the page & lists the following details. TIME: 15-45 min, TOOLS: 10 & 12-mm sockets, TALENT: 1 star=easy, 4 stars=hard, TAB: $100-$150, PARTS: tires, tubes, TIP: first thing to do on new bike, BENEFIT: more traction = better acceleration.
   
   In my opinion, this book is very well laid out, easy to read & has lots of big pictures. It also has a Troubleshooting Guide for Forks and Shocks & Parts List, with contact information. Hubby did read it & does like it. Although, he hasn't use it, due to winter & no need for it at the moment. He did say this book had good information & helpful tips.
   
   Overall... Yes, I would recommend this book to any newbie. I think it would be an excellent learning tool for them. As for the amateur, they would already know things, but still a good way to learn some great tips.

1. I think that this book is a great book for the person wanting to learn and know more about Yamaha dirtbikes. I like it because it talks specifically about each size bike and shows you general rules of thumb on fixing and repairing your bike. Clymers book also shows you the aspects of riding. I would defenitely get this book. IT is worth the money.
