- having done some limited training with the london metropolitan police riders i started to appreciate just how much better than me a class 1 trained police rider really is. throwing my bike into a series of tight lefts and rights on public roads i never once managed to shake the PC behind me - i was on a gixxer 600 with over 100bhp and he was 30yrs older than me on a BMW tourer. my respect was upped enormously.
the same policeman told me to read roadcraft and i can truly attest that this book will not only make you safer, it will make you both a faster and safer rider and the combination will put a smile on your face all day long. the content is a bit dry, but for anyone that loves their bike and loves feeling like the king of the road, then the effort should prove extremely rewarding. save your life and brighten up your weekend all at once, read this manual.
- I prefer the lessons I learned in Nick Ienatsch's Sport Riding Techniques. The book is a basic road usage guide but provides no insight on difficult maneuvers that I was looking for. Be advised that the examples used assume left side driving that "colours" the advice but also hightens your awareness of what you are reading.
- Take the writing style of an unimaginative textbook, and combine it with the dry, stoic nature of quite a large percentage of the British. That's how exciting this book is. Just a little humor, no offense intended, this book is so bland it is difficult to read. More importantly, while it does have a number of good ideas and points to make, it really is very thin on useful, practical information. Unless you are a complete boob or know nothing about operating any vehicle on public roads, you probably will not gain any insight that will improve your riding.
- I wish car drivers to read books like this so to make the road use safer. Because 9 out of 10 road accidents involving a motorbike and a car, is the car which inisiate the accident, due to ignorance of road safety and the diferent beetwen two and four wheels.
- I've read a decent amount of books on motorcycle safety, but this one rates the best for me. I go back to it often.
You can tell that a lot of thought and experience went into making this book.
If every motorcyclist read and practiced what was in this book, there would be a DRASTIC drop in accidents. But if motorcyclists want to be stupid, then remember, stupid hurts (as the Honda advertisement says).

- I got this book as gift for my Dad. He loved it, he said it's way better than the CD version.
- More than satified with the service. Within a week i received the book in Australia and at a great price. It has everything in the book I require to conduct minor service work and is the detail is a great help for the novist motorcycle enthusiast.
- This is one of those Murphy Law situations. I bought the book hoping to find an answer to an electrical problem. Unfortunately the book doesn't seem to address any 'add-on' electricals, such as radio, gps etc. So, I had to wing it and found the partially disconnected wire the old way, just started moving wires until the break became apparent. Overall, however, it's great to have the book as a reference when I get to actual mechanical and body issues. It's really nice to have a manual available for a BMW, which is quite proprietary in most cases.
- The Clymer BMW K12 book for 1998-2005 models is a must for owners. The manual will answer in detail most any question about maintenance, toubleshooting and repairs. It is very useful in determining what a non-profrssional can do and what is best left to the professionals at a shop or dealer. The book is detailed and methodical in its approach to periodic maintenace i.e. changing the oil, so the a person with basic skills can accomplish such tasks.
-
A very nicely written manaual that has a lot of information not available in the BMW shop manual, including electrics, and how to do things if you don't own the special tool. Also about 1/4 the price.
Recommended.

5 comments about Mondo Enduro.
- I loved this book, reading it was even better than watching the movie!
I bought if from RippingYarns.com
- An excellent book about a motorcycle trip around the world.
402 days and 44,000 miles. Going through Europe, Russia, North America, South America and Africa.
A day by day account of great rides, bad rides and some times no riding at all.
Along with the DVD Mondo Enduro and their second trip DVD Terra Circa, these tell a wonderful story of a motorcycling adventure.
- We are huge fans of Mondo Enduro. These guys are amazing and oh, the stories they tell. It is a long read and it is hard to put down.(both of which are good things) Also there are a lot of British colloquialisms which can be a bit confusing but tend to add to the experience. Even with that, they are hilarious. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ridden a motorcycle or gone camping. There is an abundance of both. Austin Vince's editing of this manuscript was excellent and you can hear his voice inserted throughout. We eagerly await the publishing of the Terra Circa book. Both movies were great. The Mondo Enduro book has been even better. Thank you Austin Vince. Thank you Mondo Enduro. Result.
- The kind of book that you want to savour and enjoy a little piece of every night, but that you'll devour as soon as you finish the first page. Always leaves you wanting more.
- I watched Mondo Enduro and Terra Circa so I though I would share my review of them here as well, the story is of the same adventure and its spectacular!!!!!
I've watched the Mondo Enduro dvd and I was so impressed by it I that I also watched its companion follow up dvd Terra Circa. They are a wonderful insight into the round the world adventures of a group friends on their motorcycles. Filled with the real world flavor of such a trip, it is amazing to watch as this adventure unfolds. Beautiful scenery, diverse culture, and true character fill this intriguing story. It seems that most of us dream of such adventures, however life always seems to find a way to take other turns and most of us never realize those dreams. These fellows did a great job of documenting the trip both in video and print in such a way that we get to at least experience part of it with them. My wife and kids also had a great time watching and its perfectly geared for wholesome family entertainment. Do yourself a favor and spend an afternoon traveling the world with them from your couch. I highly recommend it, and Terra Circa, well worth watching for sure. I do hope these guys take future adventures and I'll be the first in line to see them as well.
