5 comments about Vespa Scooters Owners Workshop Manual: All rotary valve models 1959 to 1978: No. 126 (Owners Workshop Manual).
- If you own a vinatge Vespa from 1959-1978 you should own this service manual even if you don't plan on working on your scooter. It helps with routine maintence, trouble shooting, and just basic knowledge of your machine. Take care of you scooter and it will take care of you. Tons of pictures, parts and wire diagrams. A MUST HAVE!!!!
- This is a great book for minor OR major repair to Vespa scooters. It covers vintage models of different styles. For the Sprint 150cc, I found the wiring diagram easy and helpful. It appears the diagrams for others were as complete. All were color coded as well. The book is well illustrated for most any job necessary.
- Perfect book to read and help you understand your vespa. I feel its a good book.
- A very thin book and little actual technical information. Do not bother buying this manual. With a little patience you can find all this information and more on the internet at sites such as scooterhelp for free.
- Useful comprehensive guide with easy to follow photos.
A must have if you own an older scoot.

5 comments about Soft Science of Roadracing Motorcycles: The Technical Procedures and Workbook for Roadracing Motorcycles.
- Read the book, watched the movie then even took a school. I was a club racer and I rode track very often, after reading the book, I cut over 16 second off of my lap times and the best part is, I did it without crashing. I never had to close my eyes before entering a turn because I was in over my head. The best way I can put it is this, before I read Keith's book, everything or all the thoughts about riding and what to do or how to get faster or what I was doing, was wible wable in my head, I heard somethings here others there, contradicting thing in other places......Keith organized every bit of my thought and built up from the ground up, now i'm running ahead of the pack and I'm not sweating it because usually it would feel like i'm going to crash. Now every corner I take I feel confident that I will make it out alright and will even know exactly what I did to be so.
- I think Twist of the Wrist 2 is a superior book, but the Soft Science is also a decent read. The concepts are fairly intuitive, but there are many good artifacts of infomation. I recommend only purchasing this book AFTER Twist of the Wrist 2. The concepts aren't cummulative, but Twist of the Wrist 2 is simply a better textbook - in my opinion.
- This book is desirable, as is anything written by Keith Code on the art of motorcycling. However, get twist... 1 and 2 first. This book tackles those trying to race. I'm not a racer and this book was still useful, but I could not take full advantage of this book unless I start racing :-)
- Soft Science is one of the most analitical books in motorcycle riding. You bet your skills will improve a lot. We have a riding school and I put some ideas in discussion out there to see the results. It's awesome! I recomend it after more than 40 years of sportbikes ride.
- I was getting serious about road racing and this book was a great reference for someone who likes to read and study the ways to improve your riding.

- A very good book if you follow the directions in here...
- Great book. No games. to the point and easy to follow. It also happens to be the only current book out there. Other than this I have had to look up old Husky manuals, Brad lackeys book, Ake jonsons the technique of motocross , among others that are 20-30yrs old. It is great that the only book out there is pretty good. Like all training books the real test is if you really do what is prescribed.
- ALTHOUGH IT IS A GOOD BOOK, IT SHOULD BE NAMED DIFERENTLY. IS MORE ABOUT HOW TO BE FIT AND HOW TO TRAIN YOUR BODY FOR MOTOCROSS

5 comments about The Bikeriders.
- Danny Lyon was a young photographer, living in Chicago in the mid-1960s, and went with a friend to a biker's outing in Wisconsin. He eventually immersed himself in this subculture of men, women and bikes, creating photos that are now an archaeological document of a lost time.
Not only are the photos provocative and fascinating, but Lyon writes with a grace and brevity that remind me of Ernest Hermingway (another Chicagoan). Here is one sample:
"Back then in Chicago, they had a lot of names for things, names that were of the Midwest and of that city, words belonging to that place and to the people who lived there. One of those words was bikeriders..."
One will see in the images that the photographer carries his 1960s intelligence and mind into the people's lives. This is not a book about biker fashions and being cool. It is a chronicle of how some rejected the standard ways in society and set up their own rules of how to live. In their freedom and wandering, the bikeriders exemplify the lost Americans who are forever in search of sensation and meaning.
- I purchased this to give to a friend who is just getting into riding, to give him an idea of what it was like 'back in the day'. When it arrived, I opened it to take a look at it and looking out of these old photos were the faces of some of the people that I had known back in the early and mid 60's......
To make a long story short, I let him take a look at the new book that I had bought myself...and kept it.
Amazing pictures! Looking back into the past is alway problematic as our vision of "how things were" rarely jive with reality. We carry pictures in our minds of people and incidents from our past, but when confronted with real images it's a bit of a shocker.
Danny sure drives that nail home with this book.
- I can see why this is such a classic book. The photos show what it must have been really like to be around an outlaw club in the 60s. The essays, while sometimes hard to follow, give a look into who these people were. No glamorization, just cold, hard reality.
- Beautiful pictures and an interesting view of the MC world from inside one of the most important (the Outlaws) - and written from an Outlaws member, not a simple reporter.
A must-have for every biker.
- Very impressive images that document a subculture and time in the United States, by an outstanding artist-photographer, accompanied by interesting text.

5 comments about Orange County Choppers (TM): The Tale of the Teutuls.
- Orange County Choppers - Tale of the Teutals
I purchased this book for my 13 year old nephew. He is an Orange County Chopper fan, he loves the Discovery series and has all the DVD'S.This book has been great in respect to encouraging him to read, as it has enough information on each character and pictures to keep him interested.
If you want the book for technical information and bike building detail, then it's not for you. This is a good light read for the person who enjoys the Teutal tantrums !!! If a book like this can get boys reading, then I'm all for it.This is also good for big boys who love the show, as my husband thought it was not bad !
- I found this book to be an enjoyable read, it just could have been so much better with a little effort put in by the publisher or who ever made the decisions on the content of the book.
I kept wondering why they didn't seem to bother with proofreaders, fact checkers and editors. I understand it was written by bike builders not professional writers but they could have at least asked a professional to help organize their thoughts.
- Hubby LOVED this book. We don't really watch the show - but for some reason, he wanted this book. He read it in about three days and then went back to re-read specific parts.
- Great book read it cover to cover in one weekend. It was great to read that in the early years they choose morale views on how they wanted there company to be seen in public.
- I bought this book to send to my son in Iraq. He loves to watch their program on TV. My son really likes the book.

5 comments about Leanings 2: Great Stories by America's Favorite Motorcycle Writer.
- I love Peter Egan's writing in Cycle World. This was a chance to review past work and some writing which I had missed. He has a style that connects to the average rider and sometimes see things in a new light.
- Being a sports car enthusiast, I have read and loved all of Peter Egan's automotive writings. Wanting more I read both Leanings books. The same excellent writing, just about bikes!
- I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase, previously I had a copy of Leanings and I enjoyed that one tremendously. I had doubts that Leanings2 was going to top that one , but I was wrong - I would say that this one is better! I love that author's snese of humor and his in depth knowledge of bikes and skills at storytelling - I would recommend this for any biker or someone who needs a pick me up.
- I already own a copy of this book, as well as it's companion. I think so highly of them that I have ordered this copy to be used as a gift/prize at an upcoming motorcycle club gathering. Every motorcyclist should read and study this book. I try to re-read it a couple times a year. I'm still learning things from it, and being reminded again of others, all of which are very important and valuable information to me. I've been riding for about 40 years, and this is the most useful and worthwhile motorcycle book I own!
- A must for fans of Peter Egan.
I always read his column first when I get my Cycle World. If you love motorcycles, give this book a read.

5 comments about Clymer Honda: Cb750 Nighthawk, 1991-1993 and 1995-1999 (Clymer Motorcycle Repair Manuals).
- Well, this is about the only book there is, so if you want one this is it. It covers what you need to know about regular maintenance and jobs right up to major overhauls. Recommended to any owner.
- I needed help with my 1995 CB750. Clear examples and a lot of information. Much better than the factory manual which was impossible to get for my bike. For those new to wrenching the chapter on shop procedures is a good guide to see if you are getting in over your head. Save time & money, learn about your ride from the inside out. Recommended
- 1st off, there are NOT a lot of other options, but it's OK as this manual is really pretty thorough. The Nighthawk is my 1st bike, so the Clymer manual is a great walkthrough of the working parts and maintennance routines necessary to keep the bike running smoothly. The electrical diagrams and troubleshooting sections are quite good for even the novice to follow, and of course, the top end diagrams are excellent (very similar to a Haynes auto manual).
- I recently picked up a '92 Honda Nighthawk 750 for my brother. He's a re-entry biker, like me. What's important to have is a good sense of what you're in for when you get a new bike, especially if you've been out of the hobby for awhile.
This book clearly provides just about everything you need to know, from basics to deep internal mechanics. It's written clearly (for the most part), and it has very detailed diagrams & photos.
- If you don't know how to maintenance your nighthawk CB750 this is a great reference tool. Even if you don't generally maintenance "things" this will help save you a bundle for the small adjustments that make your ride so much better. I haven't found anything wrong with this manual and I would recommend this to my best friend who owns a CB750.

4 comments about Bmw R50/5 Through R100Gs Pd: 1970-1996 (Clymer Motorcycle Repair) (Clymer Motorcycle Repair).
- I needed a good book to detail the pieces of the R100GS fairing and control cluster, so I could re-assemble a bike that had been badly "customized" This manual had the diagrams, the pictures, and the wiring information I needed. Good history on the different BMW models in the preface as well.
- A friend of mine that helped me fix up my old BMW has one of these, and we used it extensively as a reference, so I had to buy one. He has a couple of airheads himself and knows much about the general ideas behind the engine, but he does not have the same model as mine so we used this book for some of the specifications. I tend to like this book more than the Haynes manual, which my friend has as well. NOTE: I have read on some of the discussion forums that both the Clymer's and Haynes have a few errors/type-o's in them, and it is good to check multiple sources for any major job you have to do.
- If youre in the USA (the Haynes manual is prefered if you're in the UK) and need a thorough well diagrammed and photographed repair and maintance manual, this is it. It tells you all of the tools you'll need for each project and goes over maintance procedures and fault diagnosis step by step. An invaluable resource.
- Pretty comprehensive manual considering the range of models and years it covers. I recommend putting index tabs throughout the sections you're about ready to use that are applicable to you model. Good schematics, breakdowns and fairly clear photos.

5 comments about 101 Harley-Davidson Performance Projects: For Evolution Big Twins and Sportsters (Motorbooks Workshop).
- This is not a coffee table book, it is a better than average tech manual. If you are looking for a Harley novel read "The Second Coming Of Age" by: C. Vedrine
- If you can only afford one Harley Book, buy this one. It's the best of it's kind I've yet seen. Just one of the projects is worth the price. It' clear and well written with color pictures that are worth an additional thousand words. Reading this book will get you all fired up to spend some bucks and dig into that machine, so it's fun for the arm-chair mechanics, too. After a few projects you will feel comfortable with the mechanical challenges that a Harley can throw at you. If you do several, you will have a stong, well tended bike. It can save you a bundle if you want to hot-rod that EVO and you get bragging rights along with projects. I can't think of a better way to use twenty bucks.
- I was hoping for a book that would have some neat ideas on making my Harley zippier. Of the 101 projects, stuff like changing the oil and adjusting the clutch just don't do it for me. But then I have taken Harleys apart and put them back together. The factory manual is your first must have book.
- Woodring and Love offer a great resource for the novice or apprentice Harley wrench. Kind of like an appetizer plate: it has a little of everything but you don't get a full serving of anything. If one intends to really learn how to build a performance Harley this book is a great intro. However, such a student should consider this an overview, not a comprehensive treatise on the finer points of engine building. This book is definitely worth its price as a primer for more scholarly reads. Taken as such it is a great value.
- I have the factory service manual for my bike and I still refer to this book because it explains things so well. I bought this book used for a fraction of the retail price and it looks almost brand new!
