1 comments about American Map Central/Eastern Connecticut Street Atlas: Hartford, Middlesex, New London, Tolland, Windham Counties.
- Trying to navigate across the state with this is impossible. Rather than a standard atlas - where the end of the page helpfully says "continued on map xx", this is organized alphabetically by town - and in many cases the map doesn't even hint at where you should look as your road runs off the page. Strangely, although owned by the same parent company - American Maps uses this poorly organized way, while Hagstrom Maps are easy to follow and use.

1 comments about 50 Hikes in Connecticut: Hikes and Walks from the Berkshires to the Coast, Fifth Edition.
- I think that this book is a good beginning for anyone who enjoys hiking but doesn't know many places to go in CT. Once you get to know the different areas, this book falls short in the sense that there are many more hikes in CT than 50. This would make a nice gift for someone.

2 comments about American Map New England: Road Atlas: Connecticut - Massachusetts - Rhode Island - Maine - New Hampshire - Vermont.
- This book was great for helping us get around the interstates and highways. It doesn't have much in the way of smaller town road maps making getting around in small New England towns a bit more cumbersome. But I do recommend the book for anyone planning a trip to multiple New England states.
- We carried these with us on our trip to New England. They really were too heavy and bulky for me to hold. We ended up using a small folded map given to us by our friends we visited.

5 comments about Connecticut/Rhode Island Atlas and Gazetteer (Connecticut, Rhode Island Atlas & Gazetteer).
- The product came on time, well packaged, and exactly as described. A great shopping experience.
- Got us to South Dakota, but none of the roads we wanted to go on once we were there were marked with road signs. So we had to guess and got lost. A LOT.
- This atlas is not confusing. Generally each grid has the county or area within it that you are wanting information. I buy mobile homes. When the person is giving directions, I can see it on the map instantly. I highly recommend it.
- "The DeLorme South Dakota Atlas and Gazetteer" is an excellent resource for trip planning. South Dakota is a deceptively large state with a lot of wide open spaces and its own rugged terrain. This atlas should allow the average traveler to navigate to pretty much any place on the road network, and to gain a limited appreciation for the terrain along the way. The scale of the map is quite good for such a large state; the numbered and multicolored map sheets are detailed to one inch equals 3.2 miles. The map sheets also include latitude/longitude markings for GPS grids.
In addition to a locational gazetteer, this DeLorme Atlas provides general information on recreational opportunities. The listings include federal and state parks, game management areas for hunting; and locations suitable for fishing, hiking, or bicycling. The map scale is not detailed enough to support off-road movement; those travelers planning to do off-road route finding are advised to consult more specialized products.
The DeLorme South Dakota Atlas and Gazetteer is very highly recommended for planning and navigating for business or pleasure in South Dakota.
- In a time of GPS usage there is still value in a map that is so accurate and easy to follow. Sometime's you just want to see more than a 5" screeen can show at one time.

2 comments about Exploring the Appalachian Trail Hikes in Southern New England: Connecticut Massachusetts Vermont.
- This is a gem of a book. Has good descriptions of hikes on segments of the AT. You can go as far as you can walk or take a few hours to hike. Good maps and assessments of terrain.Lets you match the hike with your abilities. Interesting social and historic notes, it makes you think about how the wilderness has evolved to once again take back what were cleared and settled areas, traces of which remain. Clear directions. Fits nicely in backpack.
- This book is awesome for guiding your adventures on the lower New England AT. The book has all the info you need on trails, shelters, water sources, and parking. There are also elevation maps and recommended routes to take. The only feature that I thought was not super were the small topo/contour maps. Streams were not easy to see on the maps and the fidelity of the maps could have been a bit better. I purchased the ATC Connecticut/Mass. maps which are awesome. This is the book I will go to every time I want to take a trip on the AT in this lower New England area.
