5 comments about UFC Vol 15.
- The last UFC saw the greatest upset in MMA history, how odd was it to see it one-upped so soon.
One heavyweight tournament and 2 Superfights. This is the event on paper, how it unfolded was something else. The heavyweight tournament would see the return of Mark Kerr and his undefeated record spanning different fighting organizations. To see Kerr fight in another tournament was a little bit of an insult. He was just as dominating as a Vitor Belfort, yet he had to go thru a tournament again. Still Kerr was ready and able. Serious competition from undefeated BJJ sensation Carlos Barreto, and UFC vet Dave Beneteau fell before him. The first Superfight pitted Randy Couture vs. Vitor Belfort. Randy Couture was a UFC heavyweight tourney champ in search of an upset, against the incredible Vitor Belfort. Belfort was already touted as the next eventual Superfight champion. His dominating victories and his great personality had the makings of great things to come. The match-up against Couture was just another hurdle in his quest. Leading up to the fight, Couture seemed loose and fresh, while Belfort looked tight(too buffed) and serious. The fight became the greatest upset and still is to this day the greatest upset ever in MMA history. This fight alone is worth checking this video out! The Main event(Superfight 2) was for the UFC title. Maurice Smith was back to defend his championship against Tank Abbott. On paper a clear mismatch, but Abbott's right hand always makes a fight interesting. Abbott is the clown of the UFC, a sideshow in a sport trying to legitimize itself. He is basically a tool to bring in the beer-guzzling idiots who help fill the seats. His role is known, but his decision to fight in such short notice should be commended. He was beat, and did submit verbally, but he earned a little bit more respect.
- Watch the heavyweight tournament to see why RIP (Airborne Ranger hand-to-hand combat style) is the 'most expeditious' form of fighting in the world. Greg Stott should have spent more time training, and less time reading a dictionary. The Couture-Belfort match was a surprise. Belfort gained about 20+ pounds (of muscle) from UFC XII to now, which was less than a year(mmm...steroids). I don't think his conditioning was where it should have been. I guess with all his quick fights, he didn't think it was necessary. Pretty good Maurice Smith-Tank Abbott fight. No surprises, though.
- I do not know what all of the hype about this UFC release was all about. None, none of the fights were spectacular. Maybee they are to someone who is real into the specific technics or is a UFC trainspotter but to me (myself having no form of martial arts training) the fights were all fairly boring. Call me shallow or whatever but I like to see action, and there was not a whole lot displayed, no blood. I was very dissapointed by Vitor Belforts showing, all of the other things I have seen with him he was the man but not in XV. I dont know maybe I am missing something, or its just that I like the first few UFCs where the octagon was covered in blood stains. This was more like a wrestelling tournament with a few punches thrown. Nothing like the older tournaments. Well blood is lacking, so for all of you (like me) who really enjoy blood spurting all over the place and hitting the fans, this is not for you. I may not be a purist but I know what I like, and this is not it. Go get 1-5 those are the best I think
- saw this live on tv...and trust me mark kerr is a BEAST.where is he now anyway?? but ufc needs 2 release this things on dvd..my vcr broke years ago

Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
On this night, current super fight champion Maurice Smith was supposed to meet Mark Coleman for a rematch... that fell through. Then, Smith was slated to fight Dan "The Beast" Severn... that also fell through. The UFC put out a call for a challenger. David "Tank" Abbott answered the call to battle.
The night starts out with two less-than-stellar alternate bouts. In the first, Alex Hunter faces Harry Moskowitz. This is a lackluster fight that goes to a decision. Houston Dorr then takes on Dwayne Cason. This one ends more quickly, but it nearly as boring as the previous matchup.
Mark "The Smashing Machine" Kerr makes his UFC debut against Greg Stott. Stott looks like he's kidding, with his leaning stance and hand-to-hand combat style. Kerr ends it in 20 seconds. Goodbye, Greg Stott. Welcome, Mark Kerr.
Dave Beneteau v. Carlos Barreto: This one is fairly exciting, but either fighter can end it and the fight goes to a decision.
Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort v. Randy "The Natural" Couture: This is the true main event of UFC 18. Belfort had been tearing through the competition before this point in his young career (3-0 in the UFC). Couture is 34 at the time and Belfort is 20. Couture, however, makes this his fight. He uses his wrestling skills to control the flow of the bout. He imposes his will, begins landing standing blows and then eventually stops Belfort with strikes on the ground at just over 8 minutes. This was called an upset, but we know better by now.
Mark Kerr's then meets Dwayne Cason in the heavyweight tournament finals. This one ends very quickly and we have a repeat and very impressive heavyweight tournament champion.
In the main event, Maurice Smith faces off with Tank Abbott. We know who appears to be the better fighter in this bout - and we are correct... Smith is in good shape and Tank is not. Tank gasses and verbally quits. He chalks it up to coming from the bar stool to the octagon, but he was clearly outmatched and outclassed.
This is a decent UFC event. The highlight was definitely the Belfort/Couture fight. Couture is a class act and it is somewhat satisfying to see him stop The Phenom.

5 comments about The Kung Fu Master (Special Edition).
- The last reviewer mentioned that the flick bombed because of the quality and all that. I would just like to bring to his attention that this is not a film, it is a TV action series which obviously doesn't have the financial backing a regular movie has. Considering the before mentioned explanation, it is my opinion that this is great entertainment. I cant't wait for Revenge of The Kung Fu MAster to arrive by mail.
- While this film is definitley a must for all Kung Fu Junkies out there, it may be a little hard to swallow for the average person. Donnie Yen Is Incredible, and this movie does produce some great fight scenes, However, the Production, direction, and several other aspects leave so much to be desired that its actually distracting from the movie.
Much Love though to Donnie Yen and all the other great Martial Artists who contributed.
- If you have seen the real show then you know that their is no point in buying this. I wanted to see this becasue of the Donie Yen commentary, yes IT HAS A DONNIE YEN COMMENTARY! I was surprised to see how great of an editing job they did. The whole focus on the TV series is the relationship between father and son. Tai Seng did a masterful job with this.
So the show/movie is about Donnie Yen playing the famous inventor of the hung fist. The story really goes all over the place but manages to focus on the main points just enough. We meet Miss Yim Wing Chun and that was certainly a surpirse, but if you watch revenge of the Kung Fu MAster you will figure out that they just try to make this thing every kung fu movie ever rolled into one. Now the action was the real high point. BEST ACTION YOU WILL EVER SEE IN A TV SHOW. And Donnie Yen's parts are some of the coolest stuff I have seen in a little while. He has his own style and it is not for everybody. Iron Monkey fans may enjoy it but it is REALLY fast.
So the story is good, acting is good, action is really good, but I remind you, this is a TV show. Don't expect all that Hollywood type of movie shine to it.
The commentaries are just freaking awesome. Bey Logan and DONNIE YEN!!!! Then a second commentary by Ric Myers, Bobby Samuels, and Frank Jane(I think he does the subtitle work).
So all in all the REAL TV show gets a 4.5. This double disc set gets a 3.5 and the dvd as a whole gets a 1000/1000.
Also don't watch the making of featurette because it gives away stuff from Revenge of the Kung Fu Master. BUT, it does have the lyrics subtitled for the Wong Fei Hung song From Once Upon a Time in China. Personally, I think that was the best special feature on the discs.
- i love donnie yen on iron monkey and once upon a time in china 2, so i decided to buy this movie expecting a raw good kung fu action. However, I ended having a a huge dissapointment on the film because the action are being fast forward in purpose so that it will look like they are fighting rapidly. I would have continue watching the film if the director would just left the action scene the way it was without fast forwarding it. The action lost its rawness; therefore, about 20 minutes later of the film i stop watching it. This film is about the fourth time in a row that I wasted my money with kung fu movies such as the last duel, deadful melody and the leg fighters. I need to be more cautios next time =(
- The costumes and settings reveal this movie's shoestring budget. The fighing scenes are below par compared with other good films starring Donnie. The acting and the plot are not intersting either. This is more like a bad TV show than a movie. Donnie's famous for his kung fu skills. You should see Iron Monkey, Hero, Butterfly sword, Once upon a time in China 2 and Blade 2 to appreciate how good he is.
It's still worth renting to satisfy your curiosity.

5 comments about Balance of Power.
- not one I would say is at the top of my list but one i would never watch again. the acting is cheeze, the direction is good but the ability to watch the story line is hard to too.
- All I can say is WOW... this film has 5 stars written all over it. The direction is amazing. The action is incredable and the overall story blows my mind. This film deserved to be recognized and wasn't. It's a shame these films go by the wayside while pieces of garbage like Bloodsport gets marketing.
- I loved this flick. It was by far the best fighting action movie in years. Starting with the opening all the way through till the end. God bless the makers of this 5 star triumph!
- I think kids should watch this cause Billy Blanks is a good role model and don't say it's cheesy. Kids these days get into all kinds of stuff. His studient should of listen to his teacher when he told him not to got to the playground cause it has gangs and drugs. He got shot in the arm by asian terriorist. Now billy is out for revenge.
- Balance of Power begins with quite a sense of excitement, with a decent musical/credits scene and into an audience filled gambling fight arena, where the movie's villain "Takamura" (James Lew - Showdown, American Ninja 5, Perfect Weapon) kicks someone's elses butt pretty good in a literally "bone-crushing" scene. Unfortunately, everything begins to go downhill from there, with a predictable and lame story, with almost nothing original to add.
Billy Blanks is the star, which usually isn't saying a lot. While his martial arts skills are pretty decent compared to most, his goofy acting sometimes can be a bit annoying, if not his stylish 80's haircuts. The hair is gone and is replaced with above average acting, compared to what is expected. Of course his highlights are the fight scenes and the plenty of training sequences he must endure. While the fights are average and not very exciting, the training scenes are about the only original element found in the movie. I must give credit to the training sequences in these martial arts movies, they always do manage to come up with something refreshing and fun to watch.
Other notable stars in the movie are Mako and James Lew. Mako, by no guess, plays the "old wise man and master" of the film, training the Billy Blanks character. James Lew, plays the villainous fighter, who comes off as a bit overdone compared to most of his roles, which normally are villain roles. The rest of the cast is pretty boring and cheesy, adding nothing exciting to the movie.
As for the fighting, well, average is about all you can expect. While many of the fights involve a lot of fancy moves, especially by Blanks himself, many look too rehearsed, don't make any noticeable contact, or move too slow. The final fight is Blanks against Lew, lasting about 4 minutes. Best fight of the movie, but under par as far as exciting final fights go in these films.
Balance of Power is only for a true fan of B-grade fight movies. You won't find any surprises here, except there is a slightly unexpected happy ending - cheesy no the less. Basically good if you just wanna see some more fights in addition to what you already own.

5 comments about Darkest Knight.
- This is my most prized DVD, for the simple reason that I know it will not be possible for me to find any form of entertainment that is any worse.
I've started to enjoy inflicting it on my friends, saying "no wait- it's getting to the good part" just to keep them watching and then laughing when it gets to the end that it still was bad.
Basically, it's just like Hercules, but Ivanhoe instead, British, and has worse special effects.
I think everyone should own a copy, just so that they can watch something bad, then say "at least it wasn't as bad as Darkest Knight."
- This is very possilbly the worst written and acted movie made in since "Plan 9". Having watched it I am still a little Numb! It can only be described as Childish Confused Nosense! What a waste, the director should be "SHOT"!
I will say this the DVD 's cover is a work of art but has no relationship with the movie.
- I'm English and loved this show with a passion when it was on TV. They've just released all 12 episodes over here; I don't know why they only released the first episode here and made it look like a movie. This isn't what Dark Knight was designed to be. The joy of this show was the character development and interactions over the two series (which was far too few).
As the series Dark Knight it is a wonderful mixture of sword, sourcery and romance. I hate the comparisons with Hercules, Xena etc. because Dark Knight was so much more real and complete than such shows. The characters were intriguing and the stories were different and interesting, and far from predictable as I have read elsewhere.
The comments on the acting of the main characters I take offence at. Ivanhoe's character was wonderful, and different from other shows. He was strong, loyal and courageous, but quiet, serious in his mission to return King Richard to the throne, and not a ladies' man. Is this what people are complaining about? Was he not your usual hero? If so, then why should all main characters be the same? What more are you looking for? I loved this character. The way his heart softened over time was extremely endearing. It was a joy to see the moments of comedy or tenderness between the charatcers.
It is the fault of whoever released just the first episode, not the actors or writers.
One final thing, both Charlotte Comer (Rebecca) and Ben Pullen (Ivanhoe) are gorgeous, one beautiful and one ruggedly handsome. I'm happy to return to Dark Knight if only to watch them!!
- This movie is SOOOO horrible! Save it for when you have a girl who won't break up with you for your bad taste in film. Then when the relationship is secure, show this to her. It is such a bad movie that while sitting on the couch..you will just end up making out to save yourself from dying of bordom. Good luck!
- Tyhical grade B movie. I think it came from BBC, so it may have been a tv series. I still enjoyed it, the acting was overdone, effects ok.

- After a year of training Savate there was very little this DVD offered for me.
Chouaref if clearly highly skilled in this sport but the DVD is just too short and contains way too little pointers and the combinations taught are for the most part too typical.
Bonuses included 3 clips from combat savate matches, of which 2 were pointless almost-instant knock-outs.

5 comments about Royal Warriors.
- Wow...the martial arts in this movie really surprised me considering how raw and brutal some of the scenes were. Great movie with a great story. For those that don't know, this is the second installment of the In The Line of Duty series...I highly suggest checking out In The Line of Duty IV...but RW is awesome in terms of martial arts, you can expect a really brutal michelle yeoh in this one...story centers around michelle yeoh as a police officer along with a japanese police officer and an annoying security guard who prevents a plane from being hijacked by terrorists for the purpose of freeing a convict. They killed all the terrorists along with the convict, but then the convict's 3 best War buddies plot a revenge on the 3 individuals, and the rest of the movie is about pure survival...there are many dramatic parts in the film, but you'll be rooting for michelle all the way...definitely one of her best...
- ROYAL WARRIORS is simply one of the best action movies ever made. It features the bone-crunchingly brutal style of Hong Kong choreography that was perfected in the 80's following the renaissance initiated by Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan, and it has rarely looked better than it does in this movie. This is text book action cinema, and Michelle Yeoh is remarkable.
- I haven't seen this for over 10 years.
Surprising storylines, I still remember. I don't remember about the fight scenes. I saw this before the days I took Kung Fu lessons. But I don't remember the muscle lines on her.ha ha.
- This is one of Michelle's greatest movies! If you like action, drama and comedy at the same time, you will love Royal Warriors. Henry Sanada(a Japanese Agent)also shines in this movie with some great fighting moves. If you are also a Henry Sanada fan, you should really consider owning this movie. Enjoy guys, you will not regret it!
- This is a rather amusing piece of fluff from an actress who was only to find herself in films like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Wing Chun." The action scenes are nothing special and the story line shouldn't strain anyone's brain cells.

1 comments about Last One Standing The Complete 1st Season (6 DVD Set).
- I have to admit, what first drew me into the show was the super-hyped advertisement of a few extremely fit,(and one particular, not to beat around the bush, tall, dark haired, gorgeous British guy), sporting tribal wear, fighting passionately, raw, in all sorts of exotic landscapes and cultures, all set to the infectious, adrenaline infused beat of Saliva's "Ladies and Gentlemen." Blood Stained Love Story
When I started watching, it was all that, but so, so much more. That show had me so inspired and pumped, I was in the best shape of my life from the first episode to well after the last. As for the six very unique young men, they were real, extremely likable characters that drew you in each on their own, you root for them all. Okay, I lied there, I never thought Corey belonged in the show, in fact I insulted him a lot through my t.v., and I adored Rajko above them all. But five amazing characters out of six, you can't get better than that, and I've watched a lot of reality shows! Don't get me started on the cultures, the connections they made, the injuries, or the mental, physical, and spiritual highs and lows they all faced.
I have searched for other shows like this one, and none has ever come close to Last One Standing.
From day one, I spouted this show to every single person I knew like I was getting paid for marketing, and I definitely recommend it to you.

- This movie was ok, but da dubbing ..., and thanx alot to "Dimension Home Video" they re did da sound effects of da movie and it was capital B "BAD". Trust me, if u wanna get dis movie on VHS or DVD, get da orginal one "My Father Is A Hero", itz in itz original language (since I never saw da original, I think da original language is Cantonese, either dat or Mandarin) and da sound effects have gotta be better. I saw da dubbed version of "Once Apon A Time In China" and compared to da original version (Cantonese) I saw da original is WAY better
- does anyone know if this dvd is in chinese with english subtitles, or is it dubbed in english?
- This is a terrible release of a terrible movie!
For those fans who have watched Jet's movie career go from the sensational Shaolin Temple and Once Upon a Time in China series, it was this movie (along with the Defender) that marked the beginning in Jet's dramatic decline. This movie is actually called My Father is a Hero, it has been dubbed and cut for American audiences. It is no wonder that many martial arts films are considered plotless and characterless when the US distributors cut them so only action is left!! The martial arts action is way below par, the kid is more annoying than Macauley Kulkin, and the bad guy's include Ngai Sing, Ken Lo and Yu Rong Guang! These are some great martial artists and the encounter with Jet should have been breath-taking, but there are too many wires and it's a limp finale overall. buy the asian import of My Father is a Hero, rather than support these butchered US releases. Or even better buy Jet's classic movies (most things pre-1994) + and the Hong kong edition of Fist of Legend
- I remember when the dubbed voices were somewhat enjoyable, now video game companies do a better job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With that being said, this movie is really bad, very little fight scenes early on, and too many stupid things that happen in what should be life and death situations. Still you can't go wrong with iron monkey vs. jet li. The whole coat fighting with jet just blew me away. I didn't like thwe little kids fight scenes, but it wasn't his fault, the wire work was just way overdone. So overall a pretty stupid movie with outstanding fightscenes, even if they are limited. This movie definitely needs to be viewed in the chinese version though.
- The original title of this film "My Father is a Hero" describes it best. The movie is about Jet Li playing a father, who is sent undercover on a top secret mission to infiltrate a mob boss - who is one very cold & cynical guy. The mission is so secret, not even his wife and son are informed, and it breaks the heart of his son (who is obviously very close to his father in this film). His wife dies of illness while away, and he fears his son is in just as much danger, when he comes to H.K. looking for his father and also becomes entangled with the mob boss. There are plenty of touching scenes in the film, mostly about family and loss, but leave it to poor English dubbing to ruin the moments.
As with most Jet Li films, you can expect a good deal of action with this one. And unlike his American films, you can expect even more action and longer fights. The only scene that really amazed me was the finale, lasting 7 minutes where Jet Li takes on the boss and his men on the inside of a large boat. The action kind of gets ruined once his son comes in and father uses him as a yo-yo on a rope to take out the guys. Its quite funny looking and obviously totally unrealistic.
The movie didn't flow too well for me, as it proceeds from action to tender moments, back and forth. Just didn't feel right in this film. I might have enjoyed it a little more if the dubbing wasn't so poor. Not a very exciting movie oveall except for some decent action from Li.
