5 comments about Eastern Condors.
- While it's not flawless, this Fox DVD edition of EASTERN CONDORS is clearly the best we've ever seen of this 1987 Hong Kong action classic. Sammo Hung, the star and director, had graduated from old school kung fu films to contemporary stunt-filled action comedies with his Peking Opera classmates, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao, and then a new direction (minus Jackie) with his all-star action comedy, MILLIONAIRES' EXPRESS in 1986. EASTERN CONDORS borrows liberally from THE DIRTY DOZEN (1967) and THE DEER HUNTER (1978), while injecting massive doses of kung fu, acrobatics, gunfire, black humor and tragedy into its tale of Asian and Asian-American military prisoners ("the Condors") sent on a dangerous mission into Vietnam in 1976, a year after the American withdrawal.
The Condors' mission in Vietnam is to find and destroy an underground cache of American weapons to keep it out of Vietnamese hands. When they get to Vietnam they hook up with a trio of female Cambodian guerrillas (led by fighting femme Joyce Godenzi) who act as guides, but have an ulterior motive of their own. The group also picks up a local Cantonese-speaking black market dealer who's expert in kung fu (Yuen Biao). Thanks to a spy in the group, the Vietnamese army follows the Condors' every move.
The nonstop action is quite cleverly staged, although some of it is a bit far-fetched. The characters and their relationships are generally quite interesting and we tend to feel sadness and grief when a member of the group dies (or is seriously wounded or maimed). Partly filmed in Canada, with outdoors action shot in the Philippines, the film offers a spectacular climax staged in an underground weapons complex designed and built to resemble the sets Ken Adam built for so many James Bond films.
The film's expert cinematography is finally given a transfer that allows us to appreciate it in widescreen with 16:9 enhancement. However, both the English-dubbed and Cantonese language tracks are slightly but noticeably out of sync. The English dub is pretty awful. The subtitles for the Cantonese track are not the original ones we saw in earlier editions of the film. They're "dub-titles," transcriptions of the English dub dialogue which is far less interesting and dramatic than accurate translations of the original dialogue. So don't discard your earlier copies.
- Although it has a couple of good actors the movie itself was very poorly done with a lot of work needed on the speech syncronization. The action was slow and unrealistic.
- When I first watched it I thought to myself "this is so bad it's funny". After watching a little further I finally realized that it was a parody. I found it funnier if I watched it in 4:3 ratio instead of letterboxing, maybe because it cued in more on all those bad martial arts/action movies I'd seen before on television. Outstanding comedy/action (how many in this genre are there?)
- But the fight scenes as a whole are awesome. this is possible my favorite yuen biao performance as he plays the pretty boy who is a bad boy. A bit out of place, but he is is top top top form. Add in Sammo(he stars and directs in this), Billy Chow, Yuen Wah, lam Ching Ying, Yasaiki Kuratu, Woo-ping, Phillip Ko...
Not all these guys fight, but most do, and you WILL be happy. I thought that there also was too much gun play with people gruesomely being shot in the head. But then the guns get intersting and it is certainly not your average 1980's extremely low budget movie. They put some freaking time into this thing.
So the movie is a true classic of the genre(not the war one) and it is truly an epic experience for people like me who are both old chool kung fu fans and love movies like Platoon. Platoon happens to be my favorite movie ever so I certainly can't compare it to that, but beats the holy hell out of ANY war movie in terms of INSANE stunts and hand to hand combat. And Sammo also has a very nice scene with a machetti, but then it gets even better when he gets hold of the heavy duty machine gun. It was just such a brilliant mix of war and kung fu. There will never be another movie like this. And tell me if the 3 guerilla women are not you're new favorite characteres. I know I will certainly be checking out Joyce Godenzi's works:)
The picture quality is PERFECTO without a blemish on the print. Best Fox release I have seen yet. Also it has dual languages in 5.1 sound, you gotta love that.
- the only reason i rate the movie one because i cant give it a zero
worst movie ever made
dont waste your money on it

- i'm sure that many people like this movie.
BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE DIRECTORS CUT VERSION AND SAYS JET LI COLLECTION AT THE BOTTOM, THEN THE DVD DOES NOT PLAY. I GOT THIS AT CD TRADEPOST FOR 1.99 AND IT SHOWS WHY IT IS PRICED THAT LOW.
THIS MOVIE COMES IN A COLLECTION THAT I DON'T KNOW THE TITLE OF BUT IT COMES WITH A JACKIE MOVIE, AND SHAOLIN IDIOT. THEY COME IN A NICE LOOKING 5-DISC BOXED SET AND IT LOOKS VERY INTRIGUEING BECAUSE THEY HAVE THEM ALL IN DVD CASES LIKE THIS AND YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE.
SHAOLIN IDIOT-LOOK THIS MOVIE UP IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME AND YOU THINK THAT I JUST DON'T LIKE THIS AND AM TELLING YOU NOT TO WATCH IT BECAUSE OF THAT. LIKE 5 PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN A REVIEW SAYING THE DVD DOESN'T WORK, THAT IS CALLED CONFIRMATION. AND ONE OF THE REVIEWERS MADE A COMMENT THAT THIS IS NOT SHAOLIN IDIOT BUT ANOTHER STEPHEN CHOW MOVIE THAT SUCKS AND HE MUST HAVE JUST SEEN THIS, THE ONLY OTHER THING THAT I CAN THINK OF IS THAT HE HAS THE ONE DVD PLAYER THAT THESE DISCS WORK ON. I HAVE 7 DVD PLAYERS AND TRIED THIS DVD ON A TOTAL OF 12 DVD PLAYERS, ALL DIFFERENT AND I GOT A DISC ERROR ON ALL OF THEM. SO OBVIOUSLY THEY JUST DON'T WORK SO JUST DON'T BUY THIS.
THIS MOVIE ACTUALLY WORKS IN THE JET LI COLLECTION FOR 11.99 THAT I REVIEWD ON HERE, AND IT IS THE WORST PICTURE QUALITY I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR A NON OLD SCOOL MOVIE. THE TRANSLATION SERIOUSLY CANNOT BE READ AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, THE SOUND IS HORRIBLE, AND I COULDN'T EVEN TELL WHAT WAS GOING ON WHEN BILLY CHOW AND JET LI WERE FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE PLENTY FO MOVIES THAT COME FROM A HORRIBLE FILM STOCK, BUT THIS COMPETES WITH SOME OF THE ALL-TIME WORST THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. SO I CAN'T REALLY RECOMMEND THIS EITHER.
THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE ONLY JET LI MOVIE I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT I HAVE TRIED TO FIND. I HAVE HIS FIRST 3 MOVIES, BUT CAN'T FIND JET LI VS. BILLY CHW PART 2. SON OF A MOTHER F#&$^%, piece of */@!.
if your eyes are already shot, then you may be able too watch this, but I challenge you to find a worse copy of any movie than what comes in the jet li collection.
- I am not sure about this cut, as i got european version few years ago, but this movie is actually quite nice, despite potentially horrible translations.
Its the story told by the son of Dr.Wai's assistant. And its pretty much following typical Indiana Johnes story - powerful artifact that nasty people want to take to rule earth, brave archeologist and handful of his friends are in the way.. It may lack some brilliance of late movies with Jet, but its still very nice, got some humour scenes in it and , in my opinion , makes decent time spending in front of screen :)
- The quality of this video is awful. I could barley hear it and the subtitles go by so fast I had to keep pausing the dvd in order to read them. Also the movie itself did not make any sense. I know that translating from one language to another can be difficult but I find it hard to believe they would say such foolish things. Half the sentences did not make any sense. I know it is one of Jet Li's first movies and as such it stinks! I couldn't even enjoy his skills as a martial arts expert. I looooove Jet Li but I disliked this purchase very much (I will not use the H word on Jet Li) Save your money folks I'll give you mine!!!

1 comments about Tai Chi: For Young People.
- Dr. Lam's gentle style, his able assistants, and his quick-moving series of forms are perfect for young beginners looking for instruction in the basics of Tai Chi. I especially like the times when Dr. Lam demonstrates how the moves came from (or can be used for) martial arts purposes. These examples help young students to understand the meaning behind the movements.

5 comments about Unleashed (R-Rated Widescreen Edition).
- This was thrilling and disappointing all at once. It takes western martial arts movies to a whole new level, then lets you down gradually, instead of sucking from the very start. As much as I love Jet Li, most of his American movies suck, which is not his fault in the least. Nor is it the fault of his choreographers like Cory Yuen, or in this case, Yuen Woo Ping. These large Hollywood companies just butcher the hell out of the fights in post-production, and this is almost an exception. Does Hollywood believe that that's what we want to see? Six angles for one punch, filmed on a shaky hand-cam? Not me. I hate that. This is still easily Jet's best film since he came to America and blows away crap like "Cradle 2 the Grave" and "The One". Though I must admit that for some reason, I loved "Kiss of the Dragon".
Jet plays Danny, a "dog", raised since childhood by gangster Bob Hoskins to help with collections and other assorted tasks. Hoskins will warn potential deadbeats by threatening to remove Danny's collar, which has a Pavlovian effect on Danny where he knows it's time to kick the tar out of everyone. An accident later leaves Danny injured, wandering, assuming that Hoskins is dead, and into the care of kindly old blind piano-tuner Morgan Freeman and his step-daughter Victoria. Under their influence, Danny starts to come out of his very shy shell and appreciate the nicer things in life, like music, ice cream, warmth (temperature and human), cleanliness, and non-violence. Hoskins isn't dead of course, and Danny will have to fight again for his own freedom.
What bothers me about this movie is that is sets up a silly premise and almost, almost pulls it off. Which wouldn't have bothered me as much if I wasn't so engrossed in Danny's plight. The acting is good all the way around, with an especially impressive performance by Jet. He really pulls off a combination of vicious and deadly under the care of Hoskins, and sweet, shy, and inquisitively wide-eyed under the care of Freeman. It totally sucks you in to the contrasting duality before falling short. It certainly raises some interesting questions about our own feral nature and the effects of civilization. Even more so than Tim Allen's "Jungle 2 Jungle".
The fights are really what attracted me to this, as it should be. After all, this is a Jet Li movie. It likely won't disappoint. All the fights are good, but I am bothered by a film that fails to improve on the opening rumble. The final fight is flawed only by its absurdity of origin, otherwise it rocks. Jet and a bald dude duking it out in a bathroom that's barely larger than a phone booth. These brawls are quite a bit different than any that Jet & Woo Ping have done in the past, together or otherwise. Again, they are over-edited, but in the grainy, dark, "Snatch"-like film quality, they don't suffer as much.
If you like American martial arts films (even though it's technically European), you should see this. It's in a league far beyond most, if not all, in that genre, and nearly transcends several others too... but not quite.
2005. aka: Danny the Dog
- Unleashed (Unrated Widescreen Edition)
This is a great DVD featuring an incredible movie. Unleased is probably one of Jet Li's best films, featuring him as a poor, mistreated "slave" fighting for a cruel master. One day he tastes freedom, and the rest is a dramatic roller coaster. The DVD itself is pretty thin on features, but what's there is pretty decent (behind the scenes, fight sequences, etc). Pick it up! For such a low price, you should unleash it on your home theatre!
- Not at all what i thought it would be like based on other jet li movies. He is a good actor, but this movie is gross and hard to follow much less understand. Surprised Morgan Freeman got involved in this one.
- basically its a story of hope, redemption, and rebirth. Danny(Jet Lee) has been raised as nothing more than an attack dog for his entire life(that he can remember). he has been forced to hurt. forced to kill. he never gets anything in return for the atrocities. he is forced to live in a cage. its the first movie in a while that actually made me care for any characters.
one day a hit is taken out on his owner and company. after things quiet down and the smoke clears Danny is the only man left breathing. he takes his first steps out of the car and to freedom.
He ends up being taken in by a blind Morgan Freeman and his step daughter. their kindness awakens the humanity inside Danny.
i dont want to elaborate on the story beyond that. ill just say this was an amazing movie, and anyone should see it (even non action fans)
great action, great story, great soundtrack, and great acting(the most and best acting ive ever seen from Jet Lee)
apparently the violence was a bit much for some. now, while it was the most brutal violence ive scene in its own stylized subgenre, theres deffinitely more violent fights out there. if the sound of bones bones breaking bothers you, walk away.
- This is a cool martial arts flick that has heart. Its not just about fighting. Its along the lines of Jackie Chan's Heart of the Dragon in that both films show people caring for each other. Both movies show characters who are mentally handicapped and are helped by someone. The non-violence side of the movie shows that Jet Li can really act. That only makes the action scenes where violence is needed all the more better. The martial arts scenes are execellent with Li fighting like a mad, stray dog. Some of the best fighting is in the pit scenes, especially when weapons are dropped in. It isn't as good as Fearless or the Once Upon a Time in China, Tsui Hark series but it does have better acting between Morgan Freeman and Jet Li then pervious Li movies.

5 comments about Ninja Resurrection.
- First off let me tell you despite what may be said in other reviews THIS IS NOT A SEQUEL TO NINJA SCROLL. If you are expecting one then look elsewhere. Now having said that Resurrection does follow the exploits of a charater who is in fact Jubei Yagyu based on the historic Japanese swordsman and is not Jubei Kibagami the protagonist of Ninja Scroll. It would seem that Jubei and his crew have been hired to take down a group of Christians who are holding up in Shimabara with bloody results. The second episode is as equally bloody as a dark prophecy comes to fruition.
This anime fuses historical events and unrelenting action. The animation isn't half bad and the story line is coherent. This is not for those of you who are squeamish at the sight of gore since there is a great deal of it (the rape scene comes to mind) you might want to think twice if you are offended by such things. Not to mention the subject matter concerning Christianity might strike a nerve with some people. The only real major flaw is that it is only two episodes long and there is no resolution to the conflict. The reason for this is supposedly because of the subject matter and how it may have received a negative reaction from most western countries. Still if you like good action, a nice story, and have an hour or two to kill then pick this up at your local rental place before you buy.
- Which isn't to say it's necessarily "bad," though I guess I'd describe it as such.
It's violent, gory, includes one or two completely extranneous sex/rape scenes, and doesn't really "conclude" like a completed work should. This was just a purchase on a whim based on the art and the back cover info. Sadly, for me it just didn't live up to its potential to be a "good" anime. Ican't give it more than 3 stars. 2.5 would be more accurate. I'd call it slightly sub-par, saved only by its action sequences, really... Even those are a bit over the top bloody. But some people might be into that. ;o]
NOT for kids. Honestly, not really sure who it *IS* for?
You'll probably like Ninja Scroll The Movie / The Series or Wrath of Ninja (Movie + OVA) better. Or try the Rurouni Kenshin Season One, Season Two or Season Three box sets or Inu-Yasha Season 1 / Season 2. Pretty much anything is better, really...
- Ninja Resurrection is not the sequel to Ninja Scroll. This is a totally different Jubei. Still even after watching it with the knowledge of this not being apart of Ninja Scroll it still falls very far from being a decent anime. The story begins with some promise but falls short in so many areas. Character development is one of the biggest problems. The unfinished ending is the biggest problem and will leave you with a very bad taste in your mouth. Considering the length of the anime, there is no reason why the ending should be left the way it was. If your new to anime stay far away from this. I know the trailer for this movie would make you think all the 1 and 2 star reviewers are on drugs, but trust me this anime is not good. The same trick is used with Tekken and thats one of the worst animes I have ever seen. You want to see some action. Check out Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, 8 man after, or just check out my reviews concerning anime. I'm pretty fair with animes but I'm aware people do have different taste.
- This is not even a complete movie. It has like two different stories to it. I mean i rented it and iam glad that i did that, since i only paid 5.00 to rent the movie otherwise i would have been really disappointed.
- drawing is good, action scenes are okay the story is not finished and its not good, there is too much merciless killing all over the movie seems like whatever happens on the story the bad guys always win on this one :( the movie was made to disturb people and to waste your time and money.

1 comments about Teri Jory: Poise Fitness - Core Training.
- On the cover of the DVD case, the Poise: Core Training workout is described as "Best of Pilates, Dance & Martial Arts." Created by Teri Jory, POISE stands for Pilates, Power and Posture--Oneness of Body and Mind--Inspiration--Sculpted and Sexy Body--Energized. The result is a rather odd little blended workout with a hint of Pilates and ballet barre work (I didn't detect any martial arts). Throughout the workout, Teri works with one background exerciser at a time in what looks like a dance studio. The DVD is well-chaptered: you can choose to play the full workout or select "Exercises" to choose any of the six chapters.
Teri begins the workout with a 5 1/2 minute warm-up performed entirely in a plie/deep squat position. Here Teri leads you through simple stretching moves such as shoulder rolls, neck rolls, and back extensions. Next comes "First Position," in which Teri spends about 1 1/2 minutes explaining proper positioning while lying on the floor (basically, the same concept as Pilates neutral spine). She then moves into the actual workout with the "Abs-Pelvic Floor-Legs" segment. In this 16-minute chapter, Teri leads her assistant through Pilates-like movements such as knee-ins and a teaser-like sequence. In-between the two sides, there are a few leg stretches plus one unique move that I felt was particularly effective, an outer leg lift performed while lying in a reclined twist (ie, an L-shaped position). The following chapter is "Pelvic Floor Release & Arms." Here Teri has her assistant come to all fours for some cat/cow spinal flows, and then she instructs a kneeling setup for some very slow push-ups (5 minutes). Next comes a 7-minute "Bar Stretch" using a ballet barre (it was difficult to substitute a chair here, as Teri has her assistant use a good length of the bar, at least several feet). This section focuses on full-body stretches, first with one leg on the bar, then the other. Finally, there is a very brief (2-minute) cool-down where Teri and her assistant perform some standing side stretches, bringing the entire workout time in at just under 40 minutes.
After completing this workout, I was unsure about what it had been trying to accomplish. The only time that I felt any real work in my muscles was during the outer legs lifts and the push-ups, but both of these segments were quite brief. Furthermore, I found that getting correct positioning was difficult. For example, during the warm-up and the barre work, the camera angles do not allow you to see the feet of both Teri and her assistant, and for the push-ups, Teri's assistant seemed to be set up in a manner that was different from Teri's instructions. I'm also not sure who this workout is intended for--I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, as some of the moves required good stamina (the plie position) and core strength (the Pilates-like work), but I think that more experienced exercisers would find much of the workout to be too easy. If you enjoy fusion workouts, particularly Pilates and ballet work, you might like this, but my overall rating is just two and a half stars.

5 comments about The Method: Jab Kick & Burn.
- This is a good video if you are not trying to loose weight and if you are already fit and trim, but If you have any weight on you at all you're not going to enjoy this video.
I thought that I would try this video after mastering Dance to Fitness. I could definitely keep up with this video, but I found myself wanting something slower. There's no room for adapting the moves to any physical problems (ex. bad knees), and because of that I found the constant jumping and changing in the video to be awful. There is no variety in the routine. I there is no warmup and no instruction on how to properly do the moves in this video without injury. That coupled with the pace of this video put me in enough pain to know that this was a Chiropractic nightmare. This video struck me as being more for the perfect body crowd than for those who wanted a careful and well put together workout. Once again I think that a smaller, lighter person would definitely enjoy this video, but for me. Coming from the gentle-sweeping movements of Dance Aerobics, Tai Chi to this was a bone jarring, painful mistake. I would take The Methods Dance To Fitness over this any day.
- Jab, Kick & Burn is a kickboxing workout which consists of three 14-minute kickboxing segments followed by a 10-minute abs-focused cool-down. British instructor Tracey Mallet has a high energy level and Barbie-like good looks; she definitely seems to be having fun during the workouts and encourages you to do the same.
The first kickboxing section was my favorite. After a brief warm-up which includes some slightly dance-y moves, Tracey moves on to some kicking drills. She then continues with some slow and controlled combos which were fun but which didn't raise my hear rate much, but the second half of the workout includes more jumping and increased cardio intensity. Although Tracey's cueing was sometimes a bit off, I was able to follow her in this workout. In the second and third workouts, however, the choreography was much more complex, and I found Tracey's cueing to be less than adequate. She began teaching each new combination slowly at first, but she does a lot of "take-it-from-the-top" instruction, and she frequently fails to cue things like number of repetitions, sequence changes, and left-right. Both workouts contain plenty of kicking: the second workout ends with a series of front kicks, and the third contains a segment which Tracey refers to as "chicometrics": basically, squats with a knee lift or kick and then a jump to the reverse side. There is no cool-down at all to the third kickboxing segment.
The final abs segment begins with Pilates-type movements, including a bent knee roll-up, toe dips, the frog, and crunches; there are then a few seated stretches such as a spine stretch forward. During the three kickboxing segments, there are several live drummers on stage, and Tracey instructs a class of approximately 6-8 others, but in the abs cool-down, Tracey works out alone to softer background music. I would definitely not recommend this video for those new to kickboxing, as there is no instruction on form and many of the moves are difficult to follow. This workout would probably be best suited to those who are familiar with the basics of kickboxing and who prefer complex, dance-y choreography.
- Tracey Mallet is energizing and fun to watch. There are 3 segments on this tape, the first is mostly for beginners, and goes fairly slow with kicks and punches. The second section gets your heart rate up and is fun. The third section gets you sweating and out of breath but it is SO MUCH FUN! After I am done I feel like I've accomplished a great task.
There is a lot of jumping around and squats/plie's so if you have bad knees, stay away. If you are looking for a fun cardio workout that tones and burns, this is it!
- Loved this workout! I liked that the instructor Tracey Mallett broke down the moves slowly then picked up the pace. I always get a good sweat going and feel like I've worked the whole body.
Tracey is very upbeat which keeps me going and I love her accent, I also work out to "Cardio Bootcamp" which she is the star of and I switch off ecah day with them and I'm already down a size after a month. Perfect workout for beginners.
- If you are not familiar with THE METHOD series: there are several teammates, a live percussion group, and movements are dance and Pilates inspired. This workout is broken down into 3 "intensities". Kicking and dance moves are combined. Not for beginner because kickboxing and dance moves are challenging and fast paced.

3 comments about Rage and Honor.
- Cynthia Rothrock is a terriffic sport Tae-kwon do champion. she does know how to fight. but she refuses to show any of her skill in her movies where every move thrown is slow and impractical. The plot of this movie is unforgivingly slow. Rothrock still tries to depend on her good looks for sales dispite that her ravishing model body has aged her into a 40 year old average woman who thows attacks the same way as would an amature. I think her name would mean a lot more if she stuck to sport competitions and stoped hurting herself making awful movies.
- Richard Norton and Cynthia Rothrock co-starred in movies before
"Rage and Honor", such as Samo Hung's "Millionaire's Express", but "Rage" established the charismatic pair as the Bogie and Bacall of martial arts movies. The chemistry of the two leads is undeniable in this swiftly entertaining actioner about an Australian (Norton) set up falsely for a murder charge in L.A. Norton's pursuit for exoneration pairs him with Rothrock in a battle against their criminal couterparts, played by Catherine Bach and Brian Thompson. Eccentric characters from the L.A. underground assist the leads in their mission, and the movie shrewdly punctuates the action-charged pace with light moments. An actor of integrity, Norton delivers a performance with integrity as the unfairly accused Aussie. Thanks to the appeal of both stars, "Rage and Honor" remains a rarely equaled martial arts movie, even ten years after its initial release.
- Rage & Honor is one of those martial arts films that keeps you guessing throughout the movie - is this good or does this stink. I felt this way every other 5 minutes, convinced it was a decently made film, only to be disspointed at some point with mostly slow pacing or really low-average fight action that stars like Cythina Rothrock and Richard Norotn could do better with. But then again, the camera angles, directing, and editing wouldn't be able to show off a good fight if one was achieved. Overall, this is an average film at best, with several little disspointments thrown in.
Perhaps the best thing about Rage & Honor is the story, which is not saying a whole lot. Richard Norton plays a cop named Preston, who is wanted for a drug deal shooting that went sour, involving other cops and the girlfriend of the movie's villain - Conrad Drago played by Brian Thompson (Lionheart, The Order, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) A boy catches the whole act on tape, proving Preston's innocence, but the bad guys are desperate to get the tape into their hands. Kris Fairfield (Rothrock) comes to the aid of Preston, and eventually revealing her relation to Drago - which was a nice touch of originality. Unfortunately, pacing is very slow at times, and after an hour I was begging to see a good final fight already to save the movie.
There is an average amount of fight action in the film, but everything is just an average bang-em-up fight without a whoe lot of style. Brian Thomson makes a formiddable villain, but in the end I thought he was just average too. The final fight of the film begins with Rothrock against Thomson in what is a highly unenjoyable fight due to the camera zooming way in on some shots, then way out on others. The editing is bad too, making it look like pieces of kicks and punches were thrown together. Cythina has 2 decent moves, but its not enough to call this a worthy fight. Fortunately, Richard Norton gets a chance against Thompson too, but this time everyhthing is in close & slow motion, followed by a very poorly executed finish to the fight.
If not for Rothrock & Norton, this movie would bomb. They do have somewhat of a chemistry between them, which is why they have managed to appear together in other films such as the sequal to this one. Rage & Honor isn't a bad movie, its just not an exciting one. Its not overly cheesy either, except for maybe elements of the final fight. I'd watch it to see for yourself what you think, but I highly doubt a 2nd viewing would happen any time soon.
