5 comments about Jackie Chan: My Story.
- A hartwarming DVD about Jackie's background, life, interests and passions in life. A wonderful companion to his book "I am Jackie Chan" which I think all of his fans should read, too.
- While I did enjoy watching the film, being an avid Jackie Chan fan I found that the information that I recieved in the film was not anything I did not know before. I was also quite disapointed by the cheaply created opening and cut scenes. The voice over for some of the injury videos was also quite appaling.
If you dont know much about Jackie Chan though it has some very interesting parts about his injuries and most dangerous stunts.
I would have liked him to go more indepth about his family life and history in the Chinese Opera School though.

- If you've even heard of Jackie Chan, you must see this video. No documentary before this has ever given you such a real story on the life of this living legend.
- This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. I thought I knew everything about Jackie Chan, but man was I wrong! This documentary is overloaded with info. Jackie's path at becoming the world's top action star wasn't an easy one. If you are a Jackie fan then you have to see this documentary. One thing I found interesting is that Jackie and his stunt team are blacklisted from every insurance company in Asia. There is no way I could go over all the stuff he talks about. There is nothing better than hearing Jackie's stories from Jackie's own mouth.
And in case you don't know about Jackie Chan, then I will just tell you that he put his life on the line for almost every movie he made. And he has made a ton of movies! He is one of the world's top actors, but he always did his own stunts. Included in this documentary are some of his most famous stunts, and also some outtakes, including the one where he gets hit by a helicopter!
Rating-5/5. I would give this a 100/100 if I could.

- This DVD is excellent. It gives clear information on the history and life of the Judo legend Mifune Sensei. If you are interested in history, kata, technique this dvd has it all. All the throws and reversals are presented along with chokes and kata...it is very neat to see the techniques in historical footage. While this is not a instructional DVD there is many techniques that the intermediate to advanced Judoka can pick up while watching this DVD. It is a prized possession in my DVD library. 5+ Stars!!

- This is the film that sets standards for other films.
Wong Tao and Chang Yi are sesational! The DVD is hosted by Gordon Liu Chia Hui,who gives a great interview and multiple demonstrations of his martial arts. Menus are also hosted by Gordon(some are quite funny). A great package!
- i've seen hundreds of kung fu movies and this is my top 20
the host is gordon liu,and he does 3 demos' of hung gar which
is rear. this movie has great stick fighting, comedy and kung fu
if you seen leg fighters, you will love this movie. the picture
clearity is good.this movie is a buy, so buy it.I KNOW KUNG FU!
- Hey, another movie with one of those white-haired villans that must be "ELIMINATED." How did I guess that? Loved this flick also. Fighting scenes "tough" - stick matches "rough" - I can't complain at all. Overdubs - not bad. I can live with some bad overdubs if the flick is "tight."
Watch closely as this white-haired villan goes from school to school challenging and destroying anyone who knows stick fighting. This guy is really good with his stick/pole and it's very difficult for others to beat him. What is kind of bizzare about this one is that anyone who knows stick fighting is his enemy. I like this flick so much that I transferred it to my PDA and watch it sometimes at work. Some of the stick fighting scenes will have you seriously cracking up. You will surely play a few of these scenes over and over again!
By all means please see my other reviews so you won't get stuck with worthless Kung Fu [...] that's not worth the disc it was copied to. The plot keeps you awake throughout! Definetly in my top 5%. You wont go wrong with this one at all.
- After seeing the hype right here on amazon,,I rushed out to get this flick,,,,,it o.k,,,3 stars at best!! However, grossly over rated in my opinion. Of all the weapons you see in old school kung movies,,,there 's nothing special about stick fighting kung fu!! There 's no question the story is good,,the fight scenes good,,,however, you see one stick fights, and you see them all. Honestly,,after the first stick fight, there were no more suprizes in the flick, it got really boaring and predictable,,it only seemed and feel like the same scenes over and over repeating itself!!
- The movie starts out good enough with Chang Yi playing his usual white haired villain role and makes it clear that he is the king of stick fighters and looks to take down all others. Don Wong Tao plays the young playboy who shows to be a wimp after years of negleting his kung fu practice. When his 3 uncles hear about Chang Yi going around taking down stick schools they send Wong Tao away so that he can learn kung fu and become a man. Wong Chi Sang is good as one of the 3 uncles but the movie is just overall horrible. The comedy doesn't work very well, the fighting is not great, and the story overall is just kind of there and doing nothing until people fight. This movie is actually very similiar to 'Shaolin Iron Claws', only a little bit better and they fight with sticks instead of fighting open handed. After sucking me in with Chang Yi's good polework in his first scene, I had a lot of trouble sitting through the rest of the movie until they finally fight again at the end. This fight I have to say was actually very exciting though very short. It is so good that it almost bumps the movie up to a 3 but the horri-awful picture quality and it's terrible full screen presentation almost makes me give this movie the lowest rating possible of 1 star. Of course the DVD is from Video Asia so I shouldn't have expected too much.

5 comments about The Leg Fighters.
- How can any of you give this movie more than 1 star? I bought this movie based on the reviews on here. When i got the movie i was pretty happy until i watched it. This has to be the worse Kung fu movie i have ever seen. To anyone who hasnt seen it, dont waste your time.
- Tight story line, the fight scenes immense and the dvd trasfer chrystal. This flick is a must have, especially for the final fight scene alone. I saw the most amazing villian, with his ground fighting style, then he switched to a mad/crazy bird style,,trust me it is insane. Yow,,,that scenes alone,,I had to review over, and over!! This flick is nothing less than 5 stars in my book, and is certainly up there among my top 10 best old school flicks!! Tan Tao Liang is my main man!!
- i bought this movie cuz i thought tao liang tan is gonne be the leading role but instead the movie waste alot of long scenes with the corny servant and mistress. The movie should have focus more of tao liang tan, his school, and his rival school enemies. A big dissapointment to this movie with the director wasting a talented actor. The only good thing about the movie is tao liang tan and his rival enemies.
- Oh Man, my big brother and I love this movie to death! Back in the 1980's every Saturday afternoon they would always show Kung Fu flick's on channel 5 (NYC). The kung fu moves in this movie is great as well as the story line, along with the characters Tang Hang Shi, Phoenix, Chin Fa (who will keep you laughing), and that Gangsta Villian Bang Pa! My brother and I got a lot of bruises and cuts trying to copy those moves. I'm telling you this is one of the best kung fu movies of all times, you will not be sorry that you brought it. I'm 30 and I still get mad excited when I see it...maybe I'll surprise my big brother and get him a copy, cuz he won't be borrowing mine lol.
- Peng Kong plays 2 roles in this movie. He plays the lead villian and also the lead villian's brother who fights Dorian Tan at the start of the movie. You will notice the fighting seems extremely unique and fluid and it for sure lives up to it's title suggesting it will be a leg fighting movie. Now, not only does Peng Kong star in the movie, but he also does the action choreography and you may recognize his work from 'Shaolin vs. Lama'. If you liked the sublime action in that movie then get ready for more awesome choreography including Peng Kong's unique use of Chinese wrestling. There is no doubt co-action director Sun Jung Chi had a hand in this unique style used. Ground kicking is a devastating technique and Peng Kong shows it off brilliantly. You can tell how different it is from other movies you usually see. He wasn't trying to bring the same old stuff just revved up and with better performers, he created his own choreography style and it produced a few of the best kung fu movies ever. This movie hasn't left my DVD player for a few days now. It's very hard to put into words how great the choreography is in this flick. Just truly amazing.
Sun Jung Chi stars as a kung fu teacher/school teacher who instructs a young girl named Phoenix played by leg specialist Ho Kwong-li. She and her servant (Chin Lung) usually just play around. Phoenix really doesn't like to practice her kung fu since she thinks her training is too difficult but she loves to get into fights with anyone she meets. Veteran character actor Wong Hap ('Super Inframan') plays her father and lets her master leave to take care of his wife when she falls ill. His student, played by Dorian Tan (named Tan Hai Chi in the movie) takes over as her teacher. Phoenix and her servant are of course more than happy to see their master off but Tan Hai Chi is just as strict.
Now you are going to get about an hour into this movie and say, "this is not good kung fu, it is ok, but nothing special". So the Ding Dong and Dong Dong brothers obviously aren't that great but there a few noteworthy fights that you will watch over and over again because of the extreme complexity. It took me about 30 minutes to finally stop rewinding the first fight and opening credits of the movie and finally just watch it. It is kind of a boring movie with a lot of campy fun but FINALLY 65 minutes in Peng Kong comes looking for revenge on Tan Hai Chi and finds his master(Sun Jung Chi), who as mentioned above also plays Phoenix's master earlier in the movie before he went to care for his wife. You may remember Sun Jung Chi as the crazy monk in 'Shaolin Vs. Lama'. He also played the musclebound teacher in 'Monkey Fist, Floating Snake'. Like Chang Shan, he was not in a lot of movies but was usually the best thing about anything he was in. He is very muscular but his fists are lightning fast, his kicks are awesome, and the way he does flips and jumps all over the place makes him almost unmatched as a kung fu performer on screen. His fight with Peng Kong is great but sadly that is all we get from him. He is criminally underused and it is sad to see since he was in so few movies, especially playing an actual role. Chin Lung was also very underused but he did good in his comedic servant role. Now the final fight is the reason the movie gets 4 stars. If the movie as a whole was just a bit better and had more quality fight like this it would have easily gotten a 5 star rating. Peng Kong puts on one of the greatest performances in kung fu cinema history. The unique fighting style he used could not have been put to better use and it is just one of those fights that you will have to watch maybe 20 times before you finally get your fill of it. I don't think I have ever seen a guy throw his body around quite like this. He makes some of those amazing types of moves that will make you cry out with excitement. I can't even imagine what this would have been like to see at one of the old grindhouses back in the day.
Lee Tso-Nan has done many movies much better than this one but only a couple can come close to matching this finale.
This is not a great movie and it has way too much stupid comedy but it is one of my personal favorites for the insanely awesome kung fu action.
The picture quality from Tai Seng is pretty good. It starts out very speckled but cleans up remarkably. The full screen format actually doesn't affect it too much. Like Joseph Kuo, Lee Tso-Nan knew how to shoot everything right in the center of the screen. He was an amazing kung fu film maker.

4 comments about Pride Fighting Championship - Bushido, Vol. 4.
- PRIDE or PRIDE Fighting Championships is the largest mixed martial arts organization in the world. It is based in Japan and currently promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment (DSE). Its inaugural event was held at the Tokyo Dome on October 11, 1997, promoted by Kakutougi Revolution Spirits (KRS). It is the most popular MMA organization in the world based on the number of event attendees: the PRIDE Final Conflict 2003 event had over 67,000 people in the audience. The audience record is 91,107 people on the PRIDE and K-1 co-production Shockwave/Dynamite, held in August 2002. It is considered to be the premiere MMA organization on the planet.
PRIDE Bushido is the branch of PRIDE FC that showcases the lighter weight fighters. Since its inception, early Bushido shows were often criticized by the Japanese media for not having enough action. In my opinion, Bushido 4 was the turning point that placed Bushido on the path to becoming the hottest event in Mixed Martial Arts today.
Unlike many MMA fight events, you get a ton of bang for your buck. There are 10 fights on the original PPV fight card with an 11th bonus fight in the Extra Features section of the DVD. Here is a spoiler-free breakdown of the fights:
Luiz Buscape vs Hiroyuki Abe - 7/10
Dokonjonosuke Mishima vs Marcus Aurelio - 9/10
- a tremendous fight between two top Lightweight fighters.
Amar Suloev vs Dean Lister - 4/10
- What looked like a decent match on paper, turns out to be a terrible snoozefest.
Hayato Sakurai vs Brady Fink - 6/10
- A pretty large mismatch as the legendary Hayato "Mach" Sakurai takes on an upstart American in Brady Fink. Sakurai's original opponent Crosley Gracie, was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Ikuhisa Minowa vs Kenichi Yamamoto - 7/10
- Minowa is a character
Takashi Sugiura vs Giant Silva - 7/10
- Interesting to watch because of the sideshow factor. The 7'4, 400lbs Giant Silva makes his PRIDE and MMA debut against a much smaller Japanese opponent.
Mirko Filipovic vs Shungo Oyama - 8/10
- Cro Cop makes a huge impact as he returns to the ring after being upset in his previous bout.
Paulo Filho vs Akira Shoji - 8/10
- Very good back-and-forth fight with both men gaining the advantage on momentary occasions.
Takanori Gomi vs Fabio Mello - 9/10
- A tremendous fight between "The Fireball Kid" Takanori Gomi and BTT fighter Fabio Mello. Gomi shows why he's one of the most dynamic and entertaining fighters in the world.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs Kazuhiro Nakamura - 7/10
- After an entertaining tilt in their first fight, Rogerio and Nakamura lock up again in the rematch. A good fight.
With the its reduced price, I highly recommend Bushido 4 for any Mixed Martial Arts fan. Their are a few boring fights and some snooze worthy moments, but overall its a pretty high class event.
- Bushido is used by Pride to showcase the lower weight fighters and well as the up incoming fighters. For the most part the fights are action packed. If things slow down too long, the referee will issue a red or yellow card which in effect takes away 10% of the fighters purse for stalling. The fights on this card are fairing strong with the exception of the Lister fight which was slow. The freak show Giant Silva match is over mercifully quickly. Good fights include Crocop, Gomi, and Sakurai. Worth picking up.
- for the most part this was a boring event. Most of the fights were of the slow paced, cautious variety that saw very few exciting flurries. There were a couple of fights that were entertaining so it is not a total waste of time to see. Overall though, this was an average Pride show at best. If you have a limited budged, save your money for 'Critical Countdown 2004' as that is one of the best events money can buy right now.
- bushido 4 features good fighters such as mirko cro cop, takanori gomi rogerio nogueira, kazuhiro nakamura, hyato sakurai, paulo filho and akira shoji.
But bushido 4 falls short and only have a few good fights.
the other good thing about this dvd is the brazilian top team video in the bonus features.
best fights:
1)rogerio nogueira vs nakamura 2)mishima vs marcus aurelio 3)gomi vs mello 4)filho vs shoji

4 comments about 100 Reps.
- Totally no-nonsense! This makes the workout in Tae-bo seem pale in comparison. The workout is really tough & the instructor is very clear and doesn?t seem to mind working out like there?s no tomorrow. This video has helped me get stronger & has actually helped improve my overall conditioning tremendously! One of the best workout tapes out there!
- Katrina really gets me motivated. I feel stronger and look hot.
There are 14 different exercises so i don't get board. I highly recommend this workout video.
- This workout is intense, but very effective. Katrina is an excellent instructor; focused and straightforward. This routine was taped in a gym, so there are no frills or fancy sets. The workout makes you sweat, and Katrina's style of instruction pushes you and makes you work harder!
One of my best investments in a fitness routine. I recommend this very highly!!!!
- I hate lifting weights. Well, specifically, I hate doing sets and reps. This tape is perfect for me, because I want to do an exercise and move on. I have never pushed myself to exhaustion and it feels amazing. I couldn't do 100 on each exercise but I know I will get there. Katrina encourages you to start with the heaviest weight and then go down or even eliminate the weights...just finish the 100. One upper body exercise you do 50, then do static lunges on one leg, finish the other 50 and then do the lunge on the other leg. Sometimes you pulse, or lift fast, but she gets you to 100. The only downside to this is there is no biceps exercise. But I did one set afterward. (Even though I have the DVD, it is not chaptered. You can't skip to another exercise...you have to fast forward it.) In the future, I will either do biceps with the squats or lunges, or just backtrack, and do biceps after the last standing exercise, which I think is the lat row.
Overall, I highly recommend this workout for weight lifting haters like me! At least, you'll get it done and be over with it.
