2 comments about Pride Fighting Championships: Cold Fury 3.
  1. This night of Pride Fighting begins with Pride veteran Guy Mezger going up against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, twin brother of heavyweight champion Rodrigo. These two skilled fighers all but cancel each other out in the first round. There's not all that much happening here, but the fight gets a bit more exciting in the 2nd round. The fight is not too entertaining and it goes to a decision.

Old-time UFC veteran Ron Waterman makes a quick statement with his fight against Valentijn Overeem.

Rodrigo Gracie then takes on Yuki Sasaki. After getting through a very uninteresting first round, we are treated to the same thing in rounds two and three. This one goes to a decision.

    Alistair Overeem v. Volk Ataev-
Ataev lands one of the most beautiful spinning heel kicks I've ever seen in MMA competition. Upon replay, you see that it doesn't land as flushly as everyone first thinks, but it was enough to drop Overeem to the mat, at least temporarily. This fight ends quickly and unexpectedly, with two highly charged combatants. There is good action in this fight.

Murilo Ninja Rua v. Kevin Randleman-
Pride rising star Murilo Ninja takes on the ever-irritating Kevin Randleman. I was, however, excited for a very good fight. Randleman quickly takes Rua down and attempts to make it another fight in his usual unamusing style of a takedown followed by Randleman lying on top of his opponent until the end of the round... This fight is a good back and forth battle, as Rua is too good to be held down by Randleman. This one is stopped in the 3rd due to a bad cut. Another good fight.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira v. Dan Henderson-
Everyone expected Nogueira to walk through Henderson in this bout. Henderson had actually beaten Nogueira years back, but Nogueira is a different fighter by this point. Everyone was surprised by the way this fight actually played out. Henderson escapes numerous submission attempts by one of the best submission artists in the game. This fight is very exciting and we see technical skill and precision against pure heart... Great fight.

This is a decent event. It starts out very slowly, with little action and it picks up as it progresses. The main event was certainly the highlight of this event.

  2. Of the modern Pride era this is possibly one of the most lackluster events I have seen. All but two of the fights on the card are dull affairs. Little action and results that have no consequence as far as the future of the fighters concerned characterize 6 of the 8 fights. However, two fights stand out as quality fights. Randleman vs Ninja features "the Monster" turning Rua's right eye into roast beef. A pleasant sight to watch. The main event of Nogueira vs Henderson is a highly technical affair with great suspense as Henderson amazingly escapes submission after submission. Overall, however, a poor card that leaves one asking, "Is that it?"

  1. Highly recommended. The best exposition of Wild Goose 2 I've found. Especially good are the group demos of large sections-(4)- In fact, after learning the movements I would recommend fast forwarding between each "summary" section instead of watching only Dr. Hu. This will change your day!

1 comments about Last One Standing The Complete 1st Season (6 DVD Set).
  1. I have to admit, what first drew me into the show was the super-hyped advertisement of a few extremely fit,(and one particular, not to beat around the bush, tall, dark haired, gorgeous British guy), sporting tribal wear, fighting passionately, raw, in all sorts of exotic landscapes and cultures, all set to the infectious, adrenaline infused beat of Saliva's "Ladies and Gentlemen." Blood Stained Love Story

When I started watching, it was all that, but so, so much more. That show had me so inspired and pumped, I was in the best shape of my life from the first episode to well after the last. As for the six very unique young men, they were real, extremely likable characters that drew you in each on their own, you root for them all. Okay, I lied there, I never thought Corey belonged in the show, in fact I insulted him a lot through my t.v., and I adored Rajko above them all. But five amazing characters out of six, you can't get better than that, and I've watched a lot of reality shows! Don't get me started on the cultures, the connections they made, the injuries, or the mental, physical, and spiritual highs and lows they all faced.

I have searched for other shows like this one, and none has ever come close to Last One Standing.

From day one, I spouted this show to every single person I knew like I was getting paid for marketing, and I definitely recommend it to you.

3 comments about Kung Fu Mahjong.
  1. Spin-off from Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer genre, cheerily contrived and hammed up. Sad love story of mistaken identity whit the Mahjong prodigy hero and the casino boss's daughter... Loved it. Funny acting and great showdown ending. Features the "Ten Commandments of Mahjong" sequence, perfect for students and masters alike. Special features includes Mahjong for Dummies primer menu. I'm happy to own it.

  2. The husband and wife of Kung Fu Hustle star alongside a hilarious cast in this entertaining film. This is actually one of my all-time favorite movies! The actors are all really funny, the storyline is great, and you will be surprised that there are some sad moments in the film as well. The storyline is a wacky gambler tries to outrun people he owes money to and accidentally stumbles upon a waitor in a restaurant who is a young man with a superhuman memory. He can remember any order anyone throws at him once and repeat them all perfectly. For example, " I want egg omelet, with tabasco sauce on one side but not the other, three coffees, one with brown sugar and cream, one with the sugar and no cream, and one with only milk, 4 hashbrowns, 2 of them cooked halfway only..." those aren't actual lines from movie but you get idea. The waitor has several people throwing outrageous orders at him that are long and complicated and he doesn't write them down, he remembers every word as soon as he hears. He can even read the phonebook just once and memorize each word perfectly in it. So the gambler sees him as opportunity and tries to teach the young man how to gamble and play mahjong so they can play tournaments and make big money. Unfortunately they are up against some pretty bad mob bosses and also the young man's aunt (the lady from kungfu hustle) who is dead set against him gambling and playing mahjong. Plus, the young man falls in love with a girl but it has deadly consequences. If you guys watch the film, you will laugh all the way through and fall in love with these memorable characters and constantly be surprised at each new twist.

  3. Billed as a light comedy - it is just dreck. Save your money and your time and skip this one.

5 comments about Fists of Fury.
  1. Fists of Fury is the film that revealed the world an extraordinary, brilliant and lovable Chinese American known as Bruce Lee. The film tells the tale of a simple Chinese farm boy who arrives at an ice packing plant outside of Bangkok, Thailand to work for his uncle. Of course, the local thugs are giving everyone a hard time. However, unlike most of his films, Bruce is initially reserved about using his vicious Jeet Kune Do moves against the bad guys, and his less skilled friend does the majority of the fighting in the first half of the movie. But when Bruce is pushed to the edge.....you had better watch out.

My only disappointment is that the majority of Lee's opponents are chinese kung fu fighters and he never faces anyone using Thailand's own martial art, Muy Thai kickboxing. Thai and Chinese racial relations have never been the warmest so the film production was beset with problems. However, anyone wanting to examine the film career of the amazing Bruce Lee is sure to check out the Fists of Fury.

  2. Bruce Lee (The Chinese Connection, Game Of Death) plays Cheng, who goes to work at a Ice Packing plant and winds up finding out that there is drugs within the ice itself. Soon, after he becomes the foreman, his relatives go disappearing and he finds out the factory's owners are behind it. So, Lee takes on the vicious Bangkok drug ring vowing to his Mom that he would never use his pyhsical powers again but in this time of crisis, Lee breaks the oath in order to put an end to this once and for all. Classic, classic..and a masterpiece of it's time, Fists Of Fury doesnt start off with Lee in kung fu action, he's laid back until it's time and when ever in this movie he is kicked or flying around....escpecially the last couple of fights within the ice factory and the end fight where Lee waltzs up to the factory's head honcho eating some sort of bread, Lee leaves a sting of a prescene that echoes to this day. All hail Lee, for he is The Legend.

  3. "Fist of Fury" is a good movie. This is Bruce Lee (starring as Cheng Chao-an) first debut as a fully fledged martial arts star. This is not his best film but it helped to propel him into the super-hero and legend status that he is today and will ever be. He also popularized martial arts worldwide.

The movie is a bit slow at the beginning when Bruce Lee moves from his town to run away from fights and other problems and goes to a small town to live with his cousins. He promises his mother that he will never fight, which is a hard promise to keep in the environment he is living. For example, on his way to his new home, he witnesses a young lady and a kid being harassed and bullied but does not take an active part in the ensuing fight.

Cheng gets a job at a local ice factory. Cheng finds out that the factory is just a front for making drugs. His friends start disappearing mysteriously without trace. The pace of the film picks up when Cheng and his colleagues start investigations into the disappearance of their friends. Fighting erupts and Cheng demonstrates his exceptional martial arts skills.

Among my most memorable scenes includes when Bruce Lee fights the gangsters in the ice factory after someone cuts him and he joins the fight. When he starts to participate in the fight, the end is brief as the gangsters cannot match his outstanding performance. Also the grand finale is when Bruce Lee takes the fight to the Big Boss. The viewer is treated to some remarkable and breathtaking display of martial arts fighting in an open courtyard. Cheng has to fight some fierce dogs and ruthless gangsters and finally the Big Boss himself.

This is a good movie that is well worth watching.

  4. This product was brand new and the picture and sound quality was clear and easy to understand and I look forward to do more business in the future with you and once again, thanks for a job well done and keep up the good work.

  5. With charisma to burn Bruce Lee set the Martial Arts film on its ear and forever changed them for the better.
As a young man working at an ice factory that is a front for drug dealing Lee adds his considerable mastery of martial arts and a very good acting ability and lifts this slight story well above average. With graceful moves and almost poetic fight scenes, this let the world know that Bruce Lee was here and here to stay. I have often thought that if he and Sam Peckinpah would have worked together they might have made a true masterpiece. Low budget to be sure, but it's Lee who fills the screen and demands you to over look the small budget and see the grace of his movement. Not his best, but darn close!
