  1. ok i found this movie in my local pawn shop its a canadian copy that i guess was only released for a short time. is it worth anything? all i can find on ebay are copys

  2. Some little boy is a Chuck Norris want to be every day he day dreams about him. He takes ninja classes and competes in a tournment. He breaks 9 bricks which he was scared to do at first what help him contrate was his master giving him advice and setting the bricks on fire.

  3. First off, let me say that I only bought Sidekicks because Danica McKellar from The Wonder Years was in it. I'm lukewarm toward Chuck Norris and Beau Bridges, and I am certainly no fan of Joe Piscopo or the late Jonathan Brandis. That being said, I have to say that I rather enjoyed this movie, despite the fact that Danica McKellar's role is pretty insubstantial in the balance of things. I can identify in some ways with the main character Barry, a little guy who gets picked on and laughed at by his classmates but who dreams big dreams indeed. Barry's dreams, though, unlike my own, involve feats of strength and endurance. Actually, his daydreams are getting out of hand; far too often he loses himself completely in fantasies wherein his hero Chuck Norris and he take on and vanquish scores of bad guys and, as often as not, rescue little ladies such as Barry's teacher or McKellar's character (who, early on, feels sorry for Barry and wants only to be the poor little guy's friend). Barry begins taking martial arts lessons from a Mr. Lee (Mako) and eventually amazes everyone, including himself, by standing up to the class bully. His true test comes in the state karate championships, however, where he finds himself in need of a partner in order to take on his nemesis from school and the boy's arrogant instructor (Piscopo). Wouldn't it be cool if Chuck Norris showed up and agreed to be Brandon's partner? The one thing I did not like about Sidekicks is the ending, wherein a few questions were raised in an effort to blur the line between fantasy and reality again. Obviously, Sidekicks is very similar to The Karate Kid, except this movie has two things The Karate Kid does not - Chuck Norris playing himself and the wonderful Danica McKellar lending her divine presence to the proceedings. This movie will most likely appeal to young people, but if you enjoy films featuring underdogs achieving success, Sidekicks might just be up your alley.

  4. This movie is a light hearted version of the Karate Kid. Sidekicks was a pleasure to watch. It was fun and did not take itself to seriously. Even the fight sceens were amuzing and during the shoot outs no one got hurt. Its about a boy and his tv hero and the boy becoming the hero. Jonathan Brandis was very good and believeable in the part. Chuck Noris and Joe Piscapoe were at their best.
The movie did not feel the need to have a fight to the death for a finally instead there was a wholesome message and a moral.
The movie had a lot of laughs and some mild drama nothing intense.even Chuck,s big fightsceene with Joe Piscapo is funny The cast was excelent so was the soundtrac. This movie is suitable for all age groupes. If you are like me and like light entertainment a happy ending and a wholesome message than this movie is for you.

  5. Loved the movie, it needs to be out on DVD as soon as possible.

I know it's a little sappy, but Joe Piscopo's part is so funny
it's perfect, hopefully they will have some extras on the disk too!

SO please bring this out on DVD!!

  1. I liked it as classic cinema noir. Norris' hair's- face, neck, back, rear end- all in sight. A winner! Forget Leonard Maltin's biased review. He is no Norris fan- never has been, the has-been.

  2. This is not a good movie. The only reason you should have this movie is if you are a SERIOUS Norris fan. The camera work could have been much bettter. Bottom line: There are much, MUCH better action films out there. Buy one of those. If you want to see this film, rent it, don't buy it.

  3. I was looking through my old videos and ran across this old classic. Wow, this movie is amazingly thorough and just plain beautiful. I hear Norris might reprise his role on Broadway. Forget this Walker garbage.

  4. Karate Cop is one of those rare films that boarder on the side of awful fun. Low budget and old plot are the first downfalls of this film. A great scene in this film is when the Asian cop and his African-American partner come out of a bar totally intoxicated. The both men head for home - walking their separate ways. The African-American cop is ambushed - and proceeds to run about 15 miles in five minutes. He follows this up with what seems like 5000 punches, kicks and whatever else fills time until he finally gets it - he's killed. I still think that he died of exhaustion rather than brutal force of the men chasing him. Remember that this guy was totally plastered coming out of the bar and out of nowhere he turns into Bruce Jenner! Add to this dubbing of all dialogs and you'll realize why you can't get this on DVD. I found this movie to be fun, incredibly awful fun...this is a great Sunday afternoon movie to watch with your friends.

  5. Thank you Conan for bringing the lever back! Bring this film to DVD ASAP.

  1. I've watched this three times so far and it's still just as good as ever. Entertaining, educational, great for any karate buff, this movie is simply amazing.

  2. The best thing about this dvd is the old black & white footage of Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis, Benny Urquidez & other prominent karate champs of the 60s & 70s in tournament competitions, but there's not enough here to justify the price. As for the "star", Mr. Wall, listen to the title song once (I think it's repeated at least 3 times throughout the main program) & see if you don't agree this guy's a legend in his own mind. Most of the dvd consists of him & his buddies talking about what a great guy he is & his apparently invaluable contributions to martial arts in America.
I would recommend this only for diehard Bob Wall fans, but I can't actually imagine there being any. What's his claim to fame other than spending some time with such genuinely famous & influential people as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, & Elvis Presley? If you're still curious enough to buy this, don't say you weren't warned.

  4. I was really looking forward to this DVD and the hope of seeing some great footage. It is the worst DVD I own. Be warned unless you are related to Bob Wall and totally love him you will be wasting money buying this DVD. It is full of Bob Wall talking about himself and how great he is and that is basically it.

  1. I enjoyed this movie alot. The kids are the real stars, and though protecting the envirnment is one of the lessons the movie trys to show, and even better storyline are the people learning how to pick themselves up and not quit when life knocks them down. The father, played by Michael Beck, coming to realize what is really important. His failing and redemption was a major enjoyment for me in this movie. The kids caring for the mountain habitat is catching. And I thought the hijinks the kids used to stall for time against the bad developers was a riot! LOL!! I didn't mind the fantasy(Chuck's Warrior) parts at all, everyone should be able to dream alittle.

  2. This movie was geared towards The People's Spiritualty regarding Mother Earth and that life consists of a circle. I plan on purchasing this movie but only when it becomes available in dvd format.

  3. There's just something about Chuck Norris. Is it the hair? Is it the roundhouse kicks? Is it the lost list of credentials?

Who cares? He's Chuck Norris, and he's as Chuck Norris as he's ever been in Forest Warrior, a story about a group of young tree-huggers who embark on a fun-filled camping adventure to "the mountain." But wait, what's this? Ne'er-do-well lumberjacks and bad, meany business men want to log the mountain. Not if Chuck Norris has anything to say about it.

With the help of the bafoonish fighting skills of the antagonists, Chuck Norris saves the day again and again. And each time is more entertaining as he transforms into a hawk, and a wolf, and a bear, and the omnipresent spirit of the mountain, which is always there to lend a hand when situations get sticky.

The acting is awful, the script is worse, and the special effects are laughable. But honestly, what more can we expect from Walker, Texas Ranger? Clad in ill-fitting leather shirts and wielding the power of 100 men, Chuck Norris comes to the rescue, to yet again save America's youth from the greed of big business. Way to go, Mckenna!

  4. this movie is great for children to learn about the forrest if they are unable to get to one and how to appericate what mother nature has given us and to respect it and take care of it. I was raised up there and was happy to see someone make a movie like this.

  5. The reader will forgive me as I indulge in a bit of "I've-vacationed-where-this-film-was-made". For me and my wife, Hood River, Parkdale, and Lost Lake on the North slope of Mount Hood in Oregon is not merely our favourite place to vacation - it's the ONLY place to vacation!

Seeing the film, we recognize places we love to spend every summer that we can.

On our way to Lost Lake, we fuel up at the very gas station that was featured prominently in the film. We've rowed our boat right past the place wher the kids played in the waters of the lake with the baby bear.

The Mountain you see in the film is clearly Mount Hood, the most beautiful of all the Cascade Mountains.

Therefore, if having been to the lovely and serene place where this movie was made, and loving it as much as I do, gives me a built-in bias in favor of "Forest Warrior", then so be it.

Forget about the fact that Chuck Norris, in real life, supports the very politicians who support [and get their support from] the very kind of men his character fights against in the film. Let's just cut to the story.

The young drunk father, a former Sheriff's Deputy [once a real good one, so we are told], is now living in the bottle sinc ehe and his daughter have been bandoned by his wife, and he works in the gas station when he is sober enough to stay upright. The story of his fall and redemption plays well as it's intertwined with the fight that his daughter and her friends wage against a logging tycoon who looks at the forest and sees only dollar signs.

It is this sub-plot of fall and redemption that provides a theme to the film that many others overlook, regardless of whether they praise the film or condemn it.

The careful viewer will recognize Loretta Swit ["Hot Lips" from M*A*S*H]as the owner of the gas station, and mother of two of the boys in the "Lords of Tanglewood" group who later take on the loggers with guerilla tactics, and the help of Chuck Norris as a shape-shifting Spirit Of The Mountain.

Rent or buy this movie, but don't stop there! Follow that with a vacation of your own to Oregon, to Hood River, and Parkdale, and Lost Lake Resort up on Mount Hood. Get a tent and camp up there for a few days, and take it all in for yourself.

Experience the place where this film was made, and then you might feel for yourself what "Forest Warrior" is all about.
