5 comments about Good Guys Wear Black.
  1. It's easy to see why this is a cult classic. There is somthing about it that is historical, yet still has something to say about today.

  2. Don't buy this movie it does not have alot of action in it and has no plot at all.

  3. If you like deep character development, Oscar-winning performances and gripping drama, then look elsewhere.
Good Guys Wear Black is an early Chuck Norris as an ex-Special Forces commando left stranded with his unit in Vietnam. About six years later, he's resurfaced in the U.S., but all his comrades are being killed off. It's up to Norris to find out why, before he's next.
A little slow for a Norris film, but still a great ton of fun.

  4. I was completely deceived with this movie. I thought it was going to be another Norris-cop film, being that Chuck's wearing official cop shades on the cover. Then I thought I was watching Missing In Action, because the plot seemed to be similar...at least in the beginning. It turned out to be just another Norris film with no real highlights in it.

    My complaints are as follows:
    - the opening credits were horrid!! It was some new technology that Hollywood was playing around with using psychedelic colors and blurred-digital graphics. The song was ear-bleeding and nauseating. I just skipped it.
    - The acting was as expected for such a film. The fight scenes were just lame and could have been done better with Tiger Showman-style karate, not the great martial arts we expect from Norris.
    - The scene where Norris goes head-on with a speeding car was just ridiculous, especially after it was over and Chuck's just hanging out of the windshield looking like, "okay, now what?"
    - There's no way they'd let anyone (even in the 70's) just bring a suitcase with a bomb on a plane. That part just ruined the movie for me and almost caused me to rip the disc from my player.

I do have to admit that the girl in the movie (Anne Archer) was smoking hot and there's no way she'd be in bed with Chia-Pet Chuck. I was hoping for a flash of flesh but was disappointed. The plot wasn't horrible, but could have been a bit better. Also the ending was great as I was wondering how Norris was going to clean up the mess that had been created.

Really not a bad movie, but I was expecting something more from Mr. Norris. Perhaps I'll have to check out his Missing in Action Collection (1, 2 & 3) series. This film could have been a great prequel for that.

  5. In this 1977 film, Chuck Norris is John T. Booker. When this name is presented you almost think that Norris' character is going to have special powers. Well I guess he does, right? Pardon my deviation, in this movie Chuck Norris plays a C.I.A/military mercenary now political science professor/amateur race car driver. However when a reporter, played by a young Anne Archer, comes to bring some skeletons out of John T. Booker's closet, the madness begins.

John T. Booker was part of a special unit called The Black Tigers. Their last mission was to save some M.I.A. soldiers in Vietnam. Consequently the mission didn't go as planned and many of The Black Tigers were killed. Now Anne Archer's character is asking John T. Booker if he feels he and his team were set up when this mission transpired five years prior.

I am not going to rehash the entire plot; if you are a fan of Norris you have already seen this movie, planning on seeing this movie or will just see it because Chuck is in it. I have seen many of Chuck Norris' films and this one isn't his best. In contrast it isn't awful either. As a matter of fact, this movie almost has a James Bond/24 feel to it (feel doesn't mean like or better). This is manly due to all the political intrigue and mystery woven into the storyline. As for the action it is there, yet it isn't saturated throughout the movie. This might created the perception of a boring or slow paced flick. I felt it was a good balance. I love the jump kick + moving car = this is why I have the DVD.

This move does have some bad special effects, poor acting and dubious events in plot. I found these deficits to prove charm (others might not). The one thing this movie has got going for itself is the time capsule it has put on the 1970s, the fashion, gender roles, soundtrack, special effects and house wares. Look at the tile and shower curtain in John T. Booker's bathroom and you'll know what I am talking about.

Overall a cult classic served with a bit of cheese. Again this isn't a great film, but does have some merit in the John T. Booker...I mean Chuck Norris catalog. The DVD provides a nice picture, chapter selection and actor biographies. As for the title of the movie, Chuck Norris/John T. Booker only wears black for ten minutes in this entire film, go figure.

5 comments about Delta Force.
  1. After Entebbe's detent, the entire world could validate with stupor that horrible fact. Delta force, following the traces of that horrid experience, availed this occasion to carve in relief the death of ideologies had not dead. And so, these new "Dirty Dozen" risking their lives could rescue and neutralize this coward and abominable attempt.

The film is filled of action, and a well supported cast: But, despite of the big budget, the script has its holes (After all, Menahen Golan is not John Frankenheimer); on the other hand, the predictability of the end and a lack of depth about the surrounding circumstances around. Here we have to make a clear distinction respect Munich, for instance, in which the ideological conflict and the unstoppable action are not divorced.

But, in case you want to enjoy a kinetic film, here you have: the main ingredient.

  2. I have not seen this movie in a long time but if there is a movie that has action from beginning to end it has got to be The Delta Force. Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin are two no nonsense men that free a plane load of innocent passengers from a group of terrorists. Also in the cast is the late Joey Bishop who also did a wonderful performance. The movie's story line is as true as today's headlines. Action, energy and pure excitement..these words define The Delta Force!!

  3. The movie is good, has nice action scenes, the terrorists are bad but not as bad as the real ones (well this is a pre 9/11 movie) so I could give this movie 3 stars; however, the music is horrendous, it sound as a Saturday morning GI Joe cartoon. It makes you not to care for the characters because it reminds you that it's just all fictional and that the good guys are going to end up killing the bad guys and there is not tension in it. If this type of music wouldn't be in the movie, or even if there would be no music at all, it would be better. The director should have put this music only at the end credits, that's it. So because of this music, and being generous, I give this movie two stars.

Alan Sylvestri is a good composer but I think, this is one of his worst jobs.

  4. This movie could never have been released after 9/11. It actually shows Muslims as terrorists, instead of substituting in the politically correct "white neo-nazis". Even though 99% of actual terrorists are Muslim, and Muslims have forced us to turn our airports into armed camps, most Americans suffer from Islamophobia, a fear to speak out against Islam. This is a movie worth watching.

  5. It's one of the best war movies I've ever seen. It contains gripping and realistic actions. Chuck Norris and the main bad guy's acting are riveting. It's the best film of Chuck Norris too, I believe.

I've watched it five times over the years. I own it.

Other favorite war movies of mine are Saving Private Ryan, The Longest day, The Lost Battalion, Gods and Generals, Gettysburg, We Were Soldiers, Hamburger Hill.

  1. This program was better then I could have hoped for. He is very detailed in his instructions, teaching many martial arts punches such as punching, jabing, palm strikes, spear hands & even elbow strikes & kicks such as front, round & side. He always makes sure of the most important, use of hips & blance & not locking joints. He spends a few minutes demonstrating slowly a punch or kick & then a couple of minutes practicing that move with BOTH sides of the body. After 1 hand & 1 kick demonstration/practice, he then demonstrates combinations just learned to use for an assailant and then spends several minutes practicing it. This continues for an hour. It is great he incorporates use of combinations to learn for muscle memory.

The workout is more practice of 22 minutes. He does still speak, but where else can you get a DVD where they pay to have the instructor show you over & over again to make sure you keep at it & really learn it? Not just see it once, practice for 1 minute & the video is over & you forget everything. You do want him to speak: form & balance is the most important & when you're first learning, it's the first thing you will be sloppy on & will compromise your ability the most, not to mention cause muscle & joint injury & lose balance. This DVD runs exactly how a real martial arts class would be run.

There is about a 5-10 minute demonstration of more advanced moves such as spining kicks, fake turns, etc. Which is what everyone thinks looks cool, but don't realize it's there in case you strike wrong & how to keep going. He makes it look VERY easy & he has SO much fun doing it. He also has a female student using the techniques learned on a stunt man (Mr. Norris is VERY happy it wasn't him LOL) with also some nice advanced moves that inspires you to want to learn more.

The only bad things I could say was the 80s type set, the bad music, everyone dressed in leotards, and all the women forced to wear too much makeup & looking brain-dead except for a few. But even the most vacant woman when demonstrated with Mr. Norris, didn't seem to know when to stop before crushing her knuckles in his face hard & he had to keep grabbing her wrist in time. Even I'd want her on my side in a fight, she looked "blood-thirsty" as he said.

Since all my faults have to do with what is the director's & producer's fault & not with the information provided, they layout or Mr. Norris's teaching ability, I would happily reccomend this to anyone.

  2. This is a terrific initiation to self-defense and martial arts. Chuck Norris is a natural as an instructor. He is easy to follow and understand. Anyone can get these basic self-defense techniques. This is also a quick and fun aerobic type workout. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants more confidence in streetwise self-defense.

  3. Mr. Norris does a wonderful job in explaining exactly how to do the workout. He is a great teacher. Move's very slow for the beginner and then steps up the speed as you progress. Wish there were more of his tapes like this.

  4. I got the video from the library and found it easy to do and I learned how to defend myself from an intruder or someone who wants to to bodily harm to me.

  5. This is a top notch basic teaching aid in self defense/martial arts. Punches, blocks, & kicks are all presented clearly, succinctly, & in a way that that the viewer is protected on safety issues. I sincerely wish that Chuck Norris would do another one with movements that are less basic! I now have a "black Belt" (Novice Black belt) and still use it to review basics and subtleties. It keeps me from getting "too big for my britches"! I highly urge people to watch this DVD!

5 comments about Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story.
  1. This movie is pretty funny and has a lot of good jokes. It has a few "painful" parts, but mostly the humor is good. And Steve the Pirate makes the movie!

  2. With elements of parody culled from such sources as the movie, Hoosiers, G.I. Joe action figures and exercise equipment/nutrition infomercials, this is an absolute funny romp that is not just individual bits spliced together; the plot moves sprightly past what was supposed to be the ending - the final game - to a much more satisfying conclusion of sudden-death overtime on the Dodgeball floor.

Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are outstanding in their roles in this unique variation of good versus evil; with the storyline focusing on the members of local gym versus the fitness mavens at a plush, state-of-the-art mega-center.

And in the end, the play-by-play announcer says it all: "Do you believe in improbabilities? Yes!"

  3. I think when you put Vince Vaughn in most any comedy he will do a fine job. This is probably his funniest work to date. When you take the idea of dodge ball as a competitive sport you know its going to be funny. Most all of the supporting cast is funny, the only person that is not is Ben Stiller. I think he truly was trying not to be funny and really that was supposed to be his character. The movie is great and though I have not seen the unrated version yet I am sure the general movie is still the same.

  4. This is a hilarious movie. Great spin on a childhood game picked up by adults. Ben is great

  5. This was just a positive experience dealing with the seller. Couldn't have asked for more!

  1. This movie has bad quality it is dubed in they have deep voices and it sounds bad.If you want a good bruce Lee movie get Enter the Dragon I thought it would be a good movie but I was worng. It was not even a hollywood movie maybe if you were a big fan of Bruce Lee you could handle the bad quality.

  2. The story isn't that good. The humour is awful. Some of the sets are a joke. But the action? Man, you just can't fault this baby. The twin nunchaku sequence is superb. The fight with Bob Wall is unbelievable. But the true triumph is the Chuck Norris fight. Has to be one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed. Fantastic. The choreography (entirely Lee's work) is matched only by the final execution. This is a true lesson from a true master on how cinematic fight scenes should be built, performed and filmed. Stunning.

  3. While I very much like this action/comedy, it isn't the best of Bruce's films. The story and comedy are very old hat but his fight scenes(especially with Norris at the Coliseum) are as good as ever put on screen! It shows that along with the footage shot for "Game Of Death" that Lee Would have made a gifted director and writer had he lived.

  4. According to Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee pitched the idea of their climactic, gladiatorial duel in the Roman Colloseum to him over the telephone. Norris, who was World Karate Champion at the time, responded "So you want to beat the World Champion?", and without missing a beat, Lee replied, "No, I want to kill the World Champion."

THE WAY OF THE DRAGON (the title Bruce gave his film, later titled RETURN OF THE DRAGON to link it to Bruce's signature piece) was Bruce's directorial debut, and features a cheesy story involving Bruce protecting a Chinese resturant from local Italian mafioso's, but the real sotry of the movie comes in the end.

During his climactic face-off in the Colloseum against Chuck Norris, Bruce stubbornly clings to his traditionalist method of Kung fu, and ends up getting his butt kicked. He then realizes that he must embody the essence of water: flow. Constant, ceaseless, unending flow. With this principal in mind, Bruce rises to his feet and adopts a more bouyant approach, and before long, he is victorious in one of the silver screen's most amazing (and brutal) martial arts duels.

Watch THE WAY OF THE DRAGON for this classic match up of two legends; even after thirty five years, the battle is as powerful as ever, and Bruce's philoshophy of flow has never been better represented.

  5. This movie is good to have if you are a Bruce Lee fan. I consider it a nice collectible.

  1. This was probably the first episode that caught WTR fans' attention. I just want to THANk U for selling it!

  2. Excellent movie taken from the series. This is a must for all Walker Texas Ranger Fans and Chuck Norris

  3. I would say this is the greatest Chuck Norris movie, no wait, the greatest movie of all-time except for one thing. And that is that all Chuck Norris movies are created equal and better then movies like the Godfather, Schlinder's List, Back Door Sluts 9, and Braveheart combined. Chuck Norris is a much better actor then Tom Hanks and Marlon Brando because he knows karate. Hell Chuck Norris invented Karate as well as Judo, Kung Fu, and Hamster style Jap Slapping. Do yourself a favor and buy this movie so you can call yourself a man. And if your a woman buy this movie and pray Chuck Norris comes to your house and gets you pregnant.

5 comments about Warrior Within.
  1. I just got this DVD, I am re-selling it. What a wast of money. The quality of sound and picture is terrible. The Martial arts demonstration is OK, but not practical as it says. It is not very well organized, and has no focal point of the film. I am like WHAT IS THE POINT? Just a bunch of mixed up corny film to me....very disappointed.

  2. The quality of a product should stand on its own without people manipulating user ratings. Almost all the user ratings are posted by someone anonymous or someone who only posted one time. Plus someone has made numerous multiple postings that are full of praise and little on actual critique. Seems fishy to me.

  3. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. Maybe they are the film distributors as well. I just saw this recently and thought it was one the funniest things I've seen. But the comedy is totally unintentional.

This was made in the 70s and documents nicely the delusional attitude to martial arts the western world had in that period.

The 'enlightenment' aspect of martial arts tied in nicely with the hippie peace, love and understanding ideal, and together with Bruce Lee's all conquering 'Enter the Dragon' bringing in every tough guy wannabe - well how could it not have been huge !

Speaking of Bruce Lee, his brother Robert Lee does some of the music here, adding to the hilarity. He wasn't hired for his talent, and him trying to croon a slow dreamy ballad 'The Warrior Within' will bring a smile to your face every time you watch.

Many of the 'masters' interviewed are inner city african americans, and come across as wannabe enlighten ghetto gangsters. My favourite was the master who would spar 'full on' (which apparently means no contact at all) with his students - while wearing 70s style sunglasses. THAT IS BADASS !!

This doco actually does feature someone talking about the dangers of attackers entering his 'circle of death'. Apparently anyone that enters his circle of death when he's in attack mode is going to get it - even his mother ! But apparently she wouldn't enter, 'because she knows better'. That right there is by far the best part of the movie, and possibly the greatest line ever committed to film.

Also, watch out for the jiu jitsu master who has all his students talk about how graceful his rolling around is despite his large girth. Lots of slow motion shots follow of this large man doing forward rolls.

Some of them have the noble idea that teaching inner city youths their martial arts will help decrease youth violence and gang activity. You can't argue with that idea, although judging from the 1980s it probably didn't work that well.

There is too much comedy gold to list it all here. The only ones that seemed rational were Chuck Norris, Dan Inosanto and Mike Stone - 3 guys who were all actual friends of Bruce Lee and all engaged in fighting with actual contact... Mike Stone openly makes fun of some masters who are full of it.

A DVD anniversary edition would be AWESOME. I'd love to see a 'where are they now?' feature showing all the masters. I wonder if the circle of death expanded or contracted with age ?

In the end its a wonderful time capsule of the martial arts hysteria that took over the world in the early 70s and really continued into the 90s until the Gracie family and mixed martial arts cleared out the rubbish - which was Bruce Lee's goal in the first place...

  4. First of all let me say that if you are looking for hardcore action, legs breaking, and fancy flips, and gymnastics. This isn't for you. This was made in the 70's so don't be surprised with the crappy picture and sound quality. However with that said, I have always loved this documentary. I first saw it 18 years ago at the age of ten. Once I saw it I joined my first martial arts dojo. And since then took a long hard and exciting journey in the martial arts world. Despite what some critics on here say, these are REAL masters and many are still alive and VERY WELL RESPECTED in the martial arts community. This documentary goes into brief descriptions of different arts such as Karate, Tiger Claw Gung Fu, Tai chi Chuan, Jujitsu and a few others. While interviewing respected masters in those styles. They speak about their personal experiences, views on life, and what it means being a martial arts master. It's a must for any serious martial artist who isn't in it for just hurting people.

  5. This doesn't feature any footage of Bruce Lee apart from a few stills and some mention of his influence. However in all other respects the rest of the film is first class.

Leading experts from various martial arts areas (Kendo, various forms of Karate, Jujitsu, Kung Fu, Tai Chi as well as weapons experts etc) are all shown demonstrating their skills with devastating effectiveness and discussing them with equal facility.

Amongst the better known martial artists are:
    Chuck Norris
    Dan Inosanto
    Master Poi Chen
    Mike Stone
    Master Moses Powell

Unlike one of the previous critical reviewers I actually found the Jujitsu master the most impressive of all the guys on display. The truth is they are, or at least were, amongst the very best at the time the film was made. Criticising from behind the keyboard 30 years after these guys were at their peak, is I think a little unfair!

Highly recommended to anyone interested in martial arts.
