5 comments about Walker Texas Ranger - The Final Season.
  1. Be looking for cheese, but of the walker series, this is the best season. Don't get your hopes up for quality acting or story telling, but these shows are always good for a laugh. The action sequences are unparalleled, Chuck Norris at his round-house-kicking best.

  2. A fitting finale for the best action series - PERIOD. Chuck keeps getting better. I can't wait for his next move. BUY THIS DVD! Norris reminds me of a fine wine he gets better with age.

  3. I agree with the other viewers. I LOVE WALKER TEXAS RANGER,I wish they would have put them in a proper sequence.I"m going crazy trying to find different episodes on DVD. I would love to find FAITH, The White Buffalo, etc. I would like them to also explain why they brought it on TV for a final episode with Alex being pregnant, and then killed, and Jimmie Trivett going to the FBI? I will always try to find other Walkers his stories have agood plot and are heartwarming.JM

  4. I detinitely recommend The Final Season of Walker Texas Ranger. There was one special episode in the series: "Child Of Hope". That showed Walker's side as father and Alex's side as mother. In my opinion, it was definitely the most heart warming episode I ever saw. I couldn't help playing it over and over. Absolutely, this is an example of Save The Best For Last. This is one collection that I will never give or loan out. This is a keeper.

  5. I enoy this season very much and was unhappy to see the show end. The only thing was that is wold have been nice to see Gage and Sydney get together as their on screen chemistry was great. I hope they all move onto big and better things.

5 comments about The Delta Force.
  1. How is it possible that a movie as promising as Delta Force gets only three stars from Sid the Elf? All the elements were there. On the cover, you have the stars of the show(Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin with special appearances by Chuck's uber-mullet and Lee's eyebrows that looked like wings in case his head decided to fly away) holding bazookas, undoubedly poised to blow some terrorists to bits. Unfortulately, that's about as good as it got. The plot followed no logic and we, Sid the Elf, have no respect for those who have no respect for logic. The first explosions after the opening credits happened about an hour into the film. If it's Sid, he says that move doesn't have it. Nobody is watching a movie staring Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin to see an enthraling plot and good acting. We want to see 128 minutes of non-stop explosions, cool guns, people being thrown off stuff, neck-snappings, and roundhouse kicks out the thing. It's a real easy formula. Whoever made Delta Force 2 had the recepie. Delta Force was just lacking. It pains us, Sid the Elf-because we love Chuck and think he's as much of a one man wrecking crew as the next reviewer-to say NO DEAL to Delta Force.

  2. Nonstop action, plane hijacking, dangerous terrorists all equal Chuck Norris to the rescue. Chuck Norris is part of the elite Delta Force led by Lee Marvin. On the other side is Robert Forster (Jackie Brown) who is the leader of the New World Revolution hijacking an airplane out of Greece on its way back to America.
Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin lead the Delta Force to quickly subdue the terrorists and take back the airplane. Classic movie about bad terrorists as the illness and Chuck Norris as the cure! Not knowing that the terrorists have added more onto the plane, Abdul (Forster) has passengers with Jewish names taken off the plane and taken to a prision in an unknown location not known to the Delta Force. Can Chuck, Lee Marvin and the Delta Force save the prisioners taken off the plane? Will Abdul be able to carry out his mission of getting back at America? What will happen to the passengers taken off the plane?
Who cares about the medias potrait of Arab terrorists or Israel looking good and so fourth. To me this is just a movie. Everyone has a right to their opinion however. I just see it for what it is...a movie.

  3. After Entebbe's detent, the entire world could validate with stupor that horrible fact. Delta force, following the traces of that horrid experience, availed this occasion to carve in relief the death of ideologies had not dead. And so, these new "Dirty Dozen" risking their lives could rescue and neutralize this coward and abominable attempt.

The film is filled of action, and a well supported cast: But, despite of the big budget, the script has its holes (After all, Menahen Golan is not John Frankenheimer); on the other hand, the predictability of the end and a lack of depth about the surrounding circumstances around. Here we have to make a clear distinction respect Munich, for instance, in which the ideological conflict and the unstoppable action are not divorced.

But, in case you want to enjoy a kinetic film, here you have: the main ingredient.

  4. I have not seen this movie in a long time but if there is a movie that has action from beginning to end it has got to be The Delta Force. Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin are two no nonsense men that free a plane load of innocent passengers from a group of terrorists. Also in the cast is the late Joey Bishop who also did a wonderful performance. The movie's story line is as true as today's headlines. Action, energy and pure excitement..these words define The Delta Force!!

  5. The movie is good, has nice action scenes, the terrorists are bad but not as bad as the real ones (well this is a pre 9/11 movie) so I could give this movie 3 stars; however, the music is horrendous, it sound as a Saturday morning GI Joe cartoon. It makes you not to care for the characters because it reminds you that it's just all fictional and that the good guys are going to end up killing the bad guys and there is not tension in it. If this type of music wouldn't be in the movie, or even if there would be no music at all, it would be better. The director should have put this music only at the end credits, that's it. So because of this music, and being generous, I give this movie two stars.

Alan Sylvestri is a good composer but I think, this is one of his worst jobs.

5 comments about Bruce Lee Ultimate Collection (The Big Boss / Fist of Fury / Way of the Dragon / Game of Death / Game of Death II).
  1. This is an excellent collection by 20th Century Fox, Region 2 - English, wide-screen, English 5.1 DTS/DTS/Original 2.0, with Chinese sound track option (Cantonese, Mandarin) and English subtitle. The English sound track is good, but I prefer Chinese with English subtitle; picture resolution is great also. The collection includes The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, Way of the Dragon, Game of Death, and Game of Death II. I've read all the review here and found comment such as the restaurant scene in Way of the Dragon was cut; only shown Bruce Lee went in and out; that was not true. I read one of the review and had an impression that this collection does not have Chinese language option with English subtitle and that Bruce Lee - The Master Collection has that option. Well, I search and found Bruce Lee and The Master Collection on eBay (8 disks with The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, and 6 others.) I thought it contains all Bruce Lee movies with Chinese language option and English subtitle and bought it. That was a BIG mistake, because this is not the same as Bruce Lee - The Master Collection that was mentioned here. The Big Boss and Fist of Fury are the only two movies (no Chinese and English subtitle); 6 other disks are junks. I then searched for the UK IMPORT version, but it's expensive and high shipping cost. I found a Hong Kong version, but was not sure whether they have English subtitle; S/H is $20. I went back and read the reviews again found one or two mentioned Chinese with English subtitle with a complaint that the subtitle is on the picture, which I don't really mind as long as I can hear Chinese (I don't understand Chinese, but I got turned off with the terrible English dub). I took a chance and bought the collection. I am really happy with this collection, great picture, wide-screen, and Chinese language option (not available for Game of Death I & II which I don't care too much for either one.) I already had Enter the Dragon (only wish that it has Chinese language option). So, my recommend for someone who want to have a Bruce Lee collection is getting this collection along with Enter the Dragon, and you have a great collection.

  2. Back in 1984, I had only heard of Bruce Lee and seen snipets of his films via Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. In 1993, I saw Enter The Dragon for the first time and was hooked from day one!

I used to have these same films on the original Bruce Lee - The Master's Collection but this one is actually better because it comes with the original chinese (cantonese) dialog with english subtitles on his first three films! Plus, many scenes that were originally cut from the American versions of The Big Boss, Fists Of Fury and Way Of The Dragon have been restored, making it almost a brand new film (at least for me).

Here are the films you'll get here:

THE BIG BOSS (aka Fist Of Fury) - Chang (Bruce Lee) comes to live with family friends in order to stay out of trouble but when he learns that a corrupt business owner of an ice factory is smuggling drugs and has his friends murdered for interfering in his affairs, Chang takes matters into his own hands! The final scene is shown in its entirety, making it much more dramatic and bloodier than the original one that was shown for years in America.

FISTS OF FURY (aka The Chinese Connection) - This one has a lot of historical basis to it that I didn't know before. Bruce plays Chen Zhen, a student of real-life martial arts legend Huo Yuanjia (played by Jet Li in the recent film Fearless). After learning that his beloved teacher has died, Bruce discovers that a Japanese headmaster at a rival school was behind it. In honor of Huo, goes on a virtual deathwalk to avenge his beloved sifu (meaning teacher in chinese).

The character of Chen, though ficticious, is based on a real student of Huo's named Liu Zhen-Sheng whose life is said to have mirrored the Lee character.

WAY OF THE DRAGON (aka Return Of The Dragon) - In this one, Bruce plays Tang Lung. A well meaning country man from Hong Kong who comes to help out a family friend from gangsters who want to take her restaurant.

In this one, its the first and only time that Bruce uses two nunchuks in battle and he also faces off on-camera with Bob Wall (his future "opponent" in Enter The Dragon). This, of course, features his famous battle with Chuck Norris.

THE GAME OF DEATH - Billy Lo is a top martial arts expert and movie actor who is marked by a syndicate. After an attempt on his life, Billy lets the world think he's dead in order to take down this criminal organization.

Made after his death, it is really a cheesy tribute to Bruce. If you've ever seen Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey, then you know that the way the film was made isn't even close to what Bruce originally wanted for the movie. The only reason to watch this one is to see his scenes that he did finish for this project. My personal recommendation is to get Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey or get the 2 disc special edition of Enter The Dragon which also comes with that documentary. That way, you can see what they did in Game Of Death and then see what the footage was supposed to look like!

GAME OF DEATH 2 - Good if you have an hour and a half to waste. Best way to watch this is forget that its connected to Bruce in any way. The fight scenes aren't actually that bad but it gets a little hokey near the end. Good for one viewing.

Overall, this is a great package to get. Highly recommend watching the first three films in its original chinese (cantonese) language. You'll be glad you did and the films will make more sense too. Both Game Of Death's, however, do not have this option.

Still, a good package to get and its actually better than Bruce Lee: The Master Collection.

  3. This was not quite the ultimate collection, I think that the ultimate would include "Enter The Dragon". But for the most part it was a nice set to purchase.

  4. This dvd collection is alright! I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5 stars! Well, 3 stars go to the 1st 3 dvds: 'The Big Boss', 'Fist of Fury' and 'Way of the Dragon'. The half-star goes to 'Game of Death'. It got only a half star because the movie was never finished when Bruce Lee was alive. It was only years later, like 6 years or so, that they decided to finish the movie! The only great parts are the Bruce Lee fighting scenes, of course, and the Bruce Lee outtakes/extras. Other than that, I could've done without the 'Game of Death 2' dvd. It should've been replaced with 'Enter the Dragon'! Something that Bruce Lee actually did finish, right!?!??! It was bad enough that 'Game of Death' was a bad movie to finish and a part 2 had to be made! Let the man rest! Get this collection if you are a die-hard fan!

  5. Bruce Lee Ultimate Collection (The Big Boss / Fist of Fury / Way of the Dragon / Game of Death / Game of Death II)
Excellent product with very clear video and dts 5.1 sound. Though the sound in some scenes are not very clear but subtitles supplements it.

5 comments about Walker, Texas Ranger - The First Season.
  1. Walker Texas Ranger . This is a great DVD collection karate kicking beatin up on the drug lords and the rest of the bad guys . This DVD is great family entertainment . Its too bad they don't have more of these types of shows .

  2. It's fashionable these days, I suppose, to scoff at a television show like Walker - Texas Ranger because it promoted traditional values.

I suppose that following the exploits of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears is far more "hip".

But Walker - Texas Ranger had a very successful 9 year run, despite the fact that the critics universally panned it for its one dimensional characters (the "good guys" really were good guys and they always triumphed in the end), the network buried it in a Saturday night slot (traditionally the dead zone for a televsion show)and did nothing to promote it.

But the viewing public watched and enjoyed it for a very long time because each week, you were the recipient of a good story with a very likeable cast of characters led, of couse, by the title character Cordell Walker Texas Ranger.

Each week, Walker,a Texas Ranger cut in the mold of John Wayne, successfully used his investigative and martial arts skills to bring down the bad guys, who were engaged in everything from drugs to good old fashioned cattle rustling in modern-day Texas.

OK - so the guy isn't Lawrence Olivier in terms of his acting ability and the diversity / range of emotions he was required to convey each episode. But he was very, very believable as a resolute and unstoppable force of justice and fair play.

Walker was ably assisted by a supporting cast including Jimmy Trivette, an ex-Dallas Cowboys football player, who turned in his helmet for a badge, Alex Cahill, an assistant district attorney, who provided the love interest for Walker in the latter seasons and CD Parker, an retired Texas Ranger, whose watering hole was the favorite haunt of Walker, Trivette and Cahill in their off-hours. Sadly Noble Winningham (CD Parker) died of cancer during the run of the show.

The show oftentimes was a platform for a number of different issues that Chuck Norris was personally involved in, primarily the fight against drugs and providing healthier lifestyle choices for younger kids who were at risk.

It's easy to be a cynic and laugh at the show's efforts to address these issues. But I'll give Chuck Norris and the producers of the show full marks for not caving in to the critics and trying to create something alittle more "fashionable" just to appease them.

The fact is that the show lasted 9 seasons, a long run by television standards so there must have been alot of very "unfashionable, unhip" people who were very appreciative of a show which promoted the types of values that it did.

Thanks Chuck and cast for a alot of enjoyment watching this great series.

And thans to CBS Video for releasing this series on DVD - I own every season released so far and have spent countless hours enjoying these episodes all over again.

  3. In the early 90's, the ever popular martial arts master and action movie star Chuck Norris was not getting many offers for movies. An idea sparked in someone's mind, and Norris was offered the title role for a show called "Walker Texas Ranger", he accepted it, and an entirely new legend was born. This show is most likely what makes Norris best known to today's modern audience. I do not see this show as silly, or stupid, or so dumb that it's good, or anything like that. I sincerely, genuinely, and truthfully see it as a great show. The plots are original and imaginitive. This show also starred Sheree J. Wilson as Assistant District Attorney Alex Cahill, Clarence Gilyard Jr. as Sergeant James Trivette, (Walker's partner in the Texas Rangers), and last but not least, Noble Willingham as C.D. Parker, whose bar was a common meetingplace for the main cast. I am now officially debunking the endless theories that every episode contains the same elements - Alex, Walker, Trivette, or C.D. is kidnapped, Walker transforms into legendary Texas Ranger Hayes Cooper, etc. First of all, in many of the episodes, Alex is not kidnapped, not to mention that she sometimes is barely even if not at all in the episode. Second, Hayes Cooper does not appear until the second season (actually the third season). Do not judge this show by what you have heard from others. Believe me when I say that the show is one-of-a-kind, and it is truly awesome in every way. When you do watch it, if you're like me, you will be bending your ear to every line for one of those well known Chuck-isms, such as "If I wanted a confession, I'd beat it out of you." Great storytelling, acting, and action is what made this show what it is. Don't miss it! Below is a list of episodes included in this seven-disc DVD set.

  4. Walker is totally awesome. I love this show and had to have these. They have some of my favorite shows on them.

  5. I was surprised at the language and story lines in the first season. Not what I expected and not what I wanted my 10 year old to watch. However that being said the few shows I watched were solid Chuck Norris. I only rated it low to bring attention to the PG rating not displayed in the ad.

  1. I was very happy to get this movie. I have had trouble finding it locally. I just wish it was closed captioned as I have trouble hearing. Thanks

  2. I've been a Chuck Norris fan since I saw this movie a number of times when it came out in theaters years ago. As I watched it again after purchasing the DVD recently, I was extremely disappointed with the plot, script, and direction. However, Chuck Norris, as the lone wolf Texas Ranger, turned a zero-star movie into a two-star movie that wasn't a complete waste of time ... but it's not a movie I would watch again.

  3. Superb theme music and action packed film. Excellent fight scenes. Stunning leading lady.Good fight scene between Chuck Norris an David Carradine.

  4. This film is pure comedy from start to finish - if you like bacon you''ll love this flick from Chuck Norris because it's packed with ham; hammy acting, hammy dialog, hammy themes, hammy music etc etc etc.

I won't bother to bore you with the films basic premise since it's the least interesting aspect - it's not like you're looking for a challenge right? Chuck Norris makes incredible comedy films in much the same way Steven Seagal does! Who knew that Norris had the raw comedic skill to play his own straight man in what has to be the equivalent of a spoof movie played for serious.

One thing that anybody watching this film needs to get straight is that it's really about beer. You heard me, beer ... that's right - it's all about how much beer the Ranger can drink whilst remaining completely fit in spite of it. It's all about drinking beer at the most inappropriate and unrealistic moments and letting the audience know that he's a real man because he can simply consume the stuff morning, noon and night, without the slightest consequence to his person. When does he get time to eat or train? He must be absolutely off his gourd 24/7! Let us never entertain the thought that he's drinking light beer ... or on the job for heavens sakes!

Some of the greatest moments of pure hilarity come when his dog is shot in a late night raid by the drug kingpins boys ... when he finally reaches the dead doggy he kneels down and punches the dirt with his fist then caresses the doggy with the same hand. This is pure genius as it illustrates that he can be violent and yet tender at the same time. The presence of his chick in the doorway wearing nothing but his shirt only serves to punch up the sexual tension seemingly hidden in this scene and underpin that while Mcqualude may have lost his dog he's still gonna get lucky when he goes back inside. This is screen writing gold!

In earlier scenes McQualude comes home to his babe who has just been languishing on the bed all day in a see through gown - we presume just waiting for the Ranger to bless her with his hairy presence. He walks in and ignores her attentions instead heading to the fridge and cracking a can of beer ... he lays on his back on the bed with that beer on his chest and gives her the strong silent treatment while she sprawls on top of him determined to see if she can get a swig. He cracks a smile at scenes end and we know right there that he's got a soft heart and will likely share a beer with her. Right on McQualude!

Fast forward now where the Ranger meets up in town in an office with an Army General, an FBI guy, a Mayor, a D.A the head of the Rotary organization, general director of AMWAY etc to get the heads up on whats going down. He then heads out into the desert with the FBI dudes - Ranger in his ( get this ) nitro charged 4x4! For anybody that knows anything about 4 wheelers and or driving such I'll just let that simmer a moment as you now consider scenes where he's seen speeding along highways like a Ferrari in the same Nitro Charged vehicle much like the Batmobile would exit the Bat Cave; Super stuff indeed!

So once out in the desert in his Nitro 4 Wheeler he is traveling in convoy with the Feds in their own stock standard 4x4 - what happens next is pretty gripping stuff but it's teaches the audience a lesson about McQualude. The Feds who are in front of the Ranger get stuck on a little bit of gravel about the same size as everything else they've been driving over for the last 30 mins. Amazingly to my observant eyes I could not detect the slightest sign of them being cross axel'd or hung up with their diff! But don't let this get in the way of an exercise in superiority because The Ranger turns to his young partner and says " Let's show em what this thing can do".

McQualude does a quick maneuver and nudges them from behind and un-sticks the Feds vehicle from the pebbles they were mysteriously hung up on - to which one Fed exclaims to the other ..."What has he got there, a tank or something?". What the writers wanted us to learn here is that the Rangers vehicle is an extension of the Ranger himself and that he is superior in an unassuming and yet strong silent way. His truck drinks Nitro and he drinks beer ... together they are man and machine perfection! We are indeed a privileged audience and ought to think ourselves even lucky to be viewing a film like this about the Ranger.

After those intense moments in off roading we find the bad guys camp in the desert headed up by none other than Kung Fu's David Carradine. When the time comes at night for the Feds and McQualude to make their attack he gets shot and overcome after taking a few with him. A Helicopter lands and out gets Carradine with the Rangers chick who is also the Carradines chick ... confused? Don't be. So now they beat up on the Ranger a bit while the chick pleads for his release and Carradine decides to bury the Ranger in his Chariot like an old Viking. They chuck Norris into his Nitro machine of 4 wheeling superiority and begin to bury him, and it, alive with a huge front end loader smothering it with dirt.

What happens next is the central BEER axis point of the entire film - it's when the Ranger, his Nitro machine and a can of beer all fuse together, become one and by some hidden manifestation of all that is masculine Mcgyver their way out of certain death! So we now see the Ranger inside his truck cab, dirt pouring in over the vehicle ... the Ranger is still half conscious from his licking at the hands of Carradine but he manages in his near death like state - AND with eyes closed - to reach for a can of beer. We see his can cracking finger weakly hovering over the ring and he tries to summon the strength to crack one last beer ... he finally cracks it, takes a long swig and then pours the rest over his head in a show of cryptic defiance to his wanton alcoholism! He doesn't want to get drunk just yet ... but he wants a taste and the rest, the rest is for luck!

Just as the Ranger is done fusing his body with beer he reaches for the ignition, hit's the nitro super charger, digs his foot into the floor and screams in agony as he wheel spins his way out of his own burial ... the entire scene is ejaculatory as he bursts from the ground like a risen phoenix, as fluid would shoot from a freshly cracked can of beer! He kicks the door open and manages to blow a bad guy away while his partner takes care of the last few. When all are dead he rolls out of the truck cab a spent force and looks to all as though dead. His partner comes over and says "Don't die on me now Ranger" ... it's kind of like the dead doggy scene in reverse now ... but then just as we think McQualude might be a goner ... he looks up and says ...

    "GET ME A BEER KID!"

This really should have been the end of the film right there ... the writers missed a golden op but it goes on for a while yet through more action sequences replete with comedic timing to end with the anti climactic showdown between Carradine and the Ranger. I won't spoil the ending but suffice it to say it's not as complex as you're likely to believe at this late stage. Does he get his daughter back? You'll have to watch to find out.

I gave this film one star but I give it with great love and respect! I laughed all night long.

  5. Enjoyable, because I like the horses, the rest of the movie is very silly. The dirty truck is silly, Why do like this picture? The cast is good.

  1. This has been very enjoyable for my husband and son---both of whom are Chuck Norris fans. They are happy that they now own the serties.

  2. I really enjoyed the 3rd Season Collection. I have been a fan of the show for a long time, and I can't wait for the other ones to be released. Watching it on DVD is great, because you see some scenes in the episodes that were cut out because of commercials. The quality of the DVD's are real clear and sharp. I recommend this set and all the other ones too.

  3. Walker Texas ranger is getting better every season. Family show, but also a learning curb for all. Episodes relate to everyday issues.

  4. I have the two seasons that were released prior to this one. I love actionseries on television. I was very happy when I found out that Chuck Norris was going to star in a television series that not only had action, but heart. I am going to get the other seasons of the series as they become available. If you are an action fan, this series is for you!

  5. The product came in excellent condition and delivered on time. Would recommend to a friend.

5 comments about Walker, Texas Ranger - The Fourth Season.
  1. If you watch Walker, Texas Ranger for unadulterated laughs, this is your season. Trust me I've seen them all, and no season presents more ridiculously hilarious episodes than this one.

This is it, finally season four has arrived. A true joy for those who appreciate Walker, Texas Ranger for its ridiculous nature. Season four gives us the gems "Swan Song", "Higher Power", "Heart of the Dragon", "Ghost Rider", "Codename: Dragonfly", and "Cyclone". A long list for episodes labeled "gems", I know, however they all truly deserve the distinction. "Swan Song" sees Walker struggle for survival in the mountains of Utah, as he fights an overprotective mother bear and wrestles a flesh-eating cyclops (Not kidding). "Cyclone" may, however, be the most far-fetched episode of Walker, Texas Ranger ever produced (despite Swan Song's more than valiant effort). To be brief, Walker fights a tornado. Wow. "Ghost Rider" reminds us that Walker was raised on a Cherokee Reservation and "Higher Power" provides a hilarious Norris slant on eastern philosophy.

The remaining episodes are, for the most part, your typical Walker. But no other season is packed as full of top notch Walker.

  2. This is yet another season of Chuck Norris' great show. Decently priced and well packaged, this is too good to pass up.

  3. Item came in when promised and was very easy to order.
    Love the Walker DVD's.

  4. Having read the editorial on this page, I am amazed this idiot can spell! Walker,Texas Ranger (Chuck Norris) teaches a very strong lesson of right and wrong. Sometimes you must do this in a manner that isn't exactly up to "standards". I am shocked that this person, in the afore mentioned, could have time to watch and learn as he/she obviously took an extended period of time to write that editorial. Having said that, WTR is/was a wonderful series. An action-packed series with elements of Native American history all the way to true romance. Thank You for reading how much of the American public really feels.

  5. IM GLADE I NOW HAVE THIS SEASON OF WALKER TEXAS RANGER AND HOPE THE OTHER SEASONS WILL BE RELEASED SOON

5 comments about Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story (Unrated Edition).
  1. This is a movie I waited a few years to see only to rent it then see it was on tv the next day or so.....that is irony but it was a good late night flick and I had fun watching it. Not Vince Vaughns funniest stuff but decent and I always like Ben Stiller.....the theme was good as were Stiller's costumes. I also always like it when his wife Christine Taylor makes an appearance in his movies. Worth renting!!!!

  2. This movie is pretty funny and has a lot of good jokes. It has a few "painful" parts, but mostly the humor is good. And Steve the Pirate makes the movie!

  3. With elements of parody culled from such sources as the movie, Hoosiers, G.I. Joe action figures and exercise equipment/nutrition infomercials, this is an absolute funny romp that is not just individual bits spliced together; the plot moves sprightly past what was supposed to be the ending - the final game - to a much more satisfying conclusion of sudden-death overtime on the Dodgeball floor.

Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are outstanding in their roles in this unique variation of good versus evil; with the storyline focusing on the members of local gym versus the fitness mavens at a plush, state-of-the-art mega-center.

And in the end, the play-by-play announcer says it all: "Do you believe in improbabilities? Yes!"

  4. I think when you put Vince Vaughn in most any comedy he will do a fine job. This is probably his funniest work to date. When you take the idea of dodge ball as a competitive sport you know its going to be funny. Most all of the supporting cast is funny, the only person that is not is Ben Stiller. I think he truly was trying not to be funny and really that was supposed to be his character. The movie is great and though I have not seen the unrated version yet I am sure the general movie is still the same.

  5. This is a hilarious movie. Great spin on a childhood game picked up by adults. Ben is great

5 comments about Walker, Texas Ranger: The Complete Fifth Season.
  1. I must be the number one fan of these programs. I have already preordered series number five. Walker is a great insperation for our young people. There are never any bad words or sex in them. I just love watching him fight the bad guys. Good always wins over evil. I am collecting all of the series. This is one show the whole family can watch.

  2. It's hard to review the episode list of this dvd. But it seems like each dvd release is a season one greater than the one on the box. For example, if you get the fourth season, you're watching the fifth season.... or so according to the episode lists that I google'd. Anyway, I followed the episode list based on the DVDs I have, and the previous releases had episode listed in one season above the one posted on the DVD box. So according to my research, if I am correct, this would be the sixth season, really. I am using TV.com for my information.

Here's a list of the current episodes for this DVD release, I believe:

The Fighting McLains - Walker seeks justice for slain undercover agents.

Iceman - Walker goes undercover to jail to uncover criminals.

Lucas (1) - Walker helps an child with AIDs. Great episode, I remember this one. Did you ever notice walker has his shirt unbuttoned whenever he talks with children.... hmmm...

Lucas (2) - The conclusion to the AIDs episode

Forgotten People - Walker and Trivette hot on the trail of an abusive nursing home. I'm going to watch this episode first. Looks like fun: old people, round house kicks to the face, and jello.

Last of a Breed (1) - Walker tells about the legendary Hayes Cooper. Some of these are really good, especially in the final season.

Last of a Breed (2) - Conclusion of Walker's legendary Hayes Cooper.

Brainchild - Walker helps a child with high IQ find his mother. Seems decent. Probably resembles that episode with the Hindu child.

Mr. Justice - Walker vs a Senator who believes his idea of a "boot camp" is not tough enough.

Rainbow's End - Horses, tracks, and Walker. Excellant combination that's going to end with a round house kick to the face and Walker coming out number 1 at the race track while everyone falls in last place.

A Woman's Place - Women complaining about unsafe construction jobs. Sure to have many innunedos with Walker and Trivette even though someone's head just got crushed like a melon.

Small Blessings - Walker saves people who agrees to give testimonies.

Tribe - Greedy oil people kill some Indian dude... big mistake. This reminds me of an episode when Walker went undercover at an oil rig. Sure to have an explosive ending.

Saving Grace - Some just-escaped prisoner hold Nuns hostage instead of running away like what a normal person would do.

Money Talks - A episode with CD and his investigation about a murder. Love to see a fat guy run out of breath? Well this is the episode to watch.

Crusader - Walker helps an ex-wife who hides after witnessing a murder. Probably will have a lot of Walker coming to the rescue at the right moment while the woman get slapped, hard and for no reason.

In God's Hands - Trivette shot a child. Probably Trivette acting unrealistically like in previous episodes where he got in trouble for something he hasn't done. More than likely, Walker will come to the rescue while Trivette starts punching things for no reason.

Undercover - Walker and a drug murder investigation. Like other episodes, this one will probably have a "new" drug. Thugs in Dallas doesn't just sell drugs, they make them with their own Chemist who probably has a phd.

Everyday Heroes - Some wife beater and drugs. Probably going to have Walker busting down doors that in real life would nullify everything about an investigation.

Warriors - A crazy group of people will kidnap a geneticit to make super soliders. Gangs in Texas just don't do drive bys, they do genetic super soldiers who can crap heads and pick cars up. That's how they roll in Texas.

Angel - Trivette and his former girlfriend who visits him right out of the blue at his office. Sure to have rediculious events that would never happen, ever.

The Soul of Winter - Some racist decides to take out a minister.

Circle of Life - Walker uncovers some plot by a paroled ex-con who no one will believe.

Test of Faith - Gangs recruit middle-schoolers.

The Wedding (1) - I believe this is the first episode where Walker and Alex gets married. Sure to have ex-boyfriends. If I was going to get married to Alex, my first question would be, "Did every single one of your boyfriends beat the living crap out of you? What the heck?!?!?"

  3. I agree with previous posters that Walker is great. Walker and Trivette are greatest team since Tonto and Lone Ranger. Trivette is awesome. Watching episodes of Walker Texas Ranger with my (now) 16 year old sons is a high point of family TV enjoyement. Good does triumph over Evil. Crime does not pay. However I must disagree with the lady who said there is never any sex in Walker. There are not a few scenes inside of strip clubs with scantily clad young women swinging on poles, etc. Some seasons more so than others I guess... but you need to have the remote close by to zip though some scenes every now and then.

  4. I really like Walker Texas Ranger. I like to see that he beats the daylights out of the bad ones. Now days everything is so politically correct that the bad and the wicked get away when the innocent have to put up with it all. It seems that today the law breakers have more rights than the law abiding citizens. It is nice to see justice take place even if it is only in the movies.

  5. After receiving Walker, Texas Ranger/Season 5 it is very apparent that Walker has improved to the next level...GREATEST!!!!! Also, the actual video quality has improved greatly over past seasons.

5 comments about Little Miss Sunshine.
  1. Here they come now. One is wearing a 'Jesus was wrong' t-shirt while his eyes burn with hatred for everything around him, another is a suicidal scholar who is still getting over a failed relationship, and their leader: a self-help guru who just can't seem to help himself. These are some of the faces that make up the Hoover clan as they attempt to get their yellow van moving back down the highway by first pushing it. Their destination is the Little Miss Sunshine competition in Redondo Beach, California.

Olive, the young, slightly overweight daughter of the Hoovers who has earned a spot in the competition, is the principle character here. She seems to be the force that brings this eclectic family unit together, and it is through her that all the members of the Hoover family find commonality and loyalty toward once another.

Perhaps the wittiest film of 2006, Little Miss Sunshine is at times vulgar and will make you squirm a bit, but the subject matter is all about the fine trimmings of family and the message is clear during the last, nutty segments of the film, "Family is family, and you've only got one, so get over your differences and DANCE, baby!"

  2. Little Miss Sunshine starring Greg Kinnear and Toni Collette is the cutest and zaniest film of 2006. This film was nominated for best picture and Alan Arkin won best supporting actor, I was worried this film would be a disappointment but I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this quirky flick from beginning to end. Abigail Breslin (also nominated) is ray of sunshine as a beauty pageant hopeful Olive Hoover, she is plain, chubby, and less than graceful but she has tremendous heart. Breslin's performance is pretty amazing for someone so young, and jeez she's been in like a thousand films after this one made her famous. Paul Dano and Steve Carell also star and probably have the best character layout in this film. I highly recommend this much-beloved gem! Enjoy!

  3. Little Miss Sunshine is about a family trying to get the youngest daughter across country to compete in the "Little Miss Sunshine" pageant. There's the dad (Greg Kinnear), who's a motivational speaker and author of a self-help book he's trying to sell; there's the gay uncle (Steve Carell), just out of the hospital after trying to kill himself; there's the teenage son (Paul Dano) who's taken a vow of silence; there's the grandfather (Alan Arkin) who's been kicked out of the retirement community; there's the daughter (Abigail Breslin) who's not quite like the other pageant contestants; and the mom (Toni Collette) who tries to hold them all together.

The trip tears them all apart and puts them back together, as a family.

If the characters were less quirky, the story would be too heartwarming for words, and would require a warning from dentists. But as it is, they're understandable and sympathetic in their quirkiness, and because they're exaggerated, it's easy to see parts of them in your own life, whether in yourself or those around you, making the movie very thought-provoking.

Little Miss Sunshine is described as a comedy, but I don't see that. There are funny parts, yes, but the story is too tragic to be a comedy, I think.

  4. This movie is absolute perfection. There is nothing I don't like about it. I laughed, I cried. This is one of those movies that everyone needs to see. It is filled with characters that are brilliantly acted and quickly become people we know. It moves swiftly and powerfully from comedy to drama and back again.

If this film doesn't touch your heart, you need to check to be sure you're still breathing.

  5. Having finally rented this DVD after all the praise and an Oscar, I was expected a good dose of hilarity. What I got was a dark rewrite of National Lampoon's Vacation brought up to these Napoleon Dynamite times. It's dark, cynical and relentlessly bleak, even if moments of really funny stuff bounce off the bleakness.

The actors are all well suited for their roles, with Abigail Breslen perfect as Olive and Alan Arkin getting the snarkiest lines as the heroin snorting granddad. Steve Carell proved he had dramatic chops here, even he is forced to play the gay cliché to the max, and Paul Dano gets a heck of a lot of mileage out of not speaking for most of the film.

However, the film never really nails its timing. Funny bits are spaced with long pits of dysfunction, forcing you to deal with the fact that these people are genuinely annoying. The finale is a hoot, but again, every person here loses their dream. The payoff a broad comedy aims at the arthouse crowd...or maybe fans of Carell. Put aside the hype, and you have a stunningly average bit of filmmaking.
