  1. Love it--fits on my counter and is a great addition to my red Kitchenaid kitchen

  2. I am so picky about my knives---I want Wusthof but the price.....I've tried Henkles and other less expensive brands like Miracle Blade etc. but KitchenAid never fails to please me. The first time I used my new knives I was cutting pockets into partially frozen pork chops and ended up needing 6 stitches in my thumb! I do wish I had one more serrated blade, but other than that A+

  3. After a lot of reviewing and searching on the web, we decided to go with these knives but in black. We also didn't have a fortune to spend on the higher end brands that can cost over a thousand dollars! All I can say about these knives is WOW, VERY VERY nice! We do hand wash and dry them and haven't had any rust problems, even after a day in/next to the sink. Love the feel and weight of the knives and very sharp! This is a huge improvement from the set these replaced which was just a cheap wally world set. We also love the fact they come with 8 steak knives and not the usual 6 you see. So far we are VERY happy with them and looking forward to many more years with them.

  1. I have little hands and this one fits really well. I also adore this shape of knife. Paring knives and I never really got along... and other knives, well, they left me cold.
But this particular shape seems to cover 90% of my knifing needs in the kitchen. I can cut up chickens, dice onions and celery quickly (even with proper form... woo woo!).
I only have two wishes for this knife and it would be asolutely perfect:
    1. The silicone handle isn't my favorite, but its still very nice. I would like the shiny handle like the other KitchenAid knives
    and
    2. I need about 4 more of these because I have to wash it each time since it is effectively the only knife I will use anymore!

  1. I would highly recommend this knife along with the entire KitchenAid Cook for the Cure knife set. High quality and cuts better than any knives I have purchased to date. Since it is PINK and supports such a worthy cause, to me this is a win-win purchase. I also have the cooking utensils, measuring cups and spoons and all are quality products.

  2. Beautiful knife, surprisingly light in the hand. Cuts perfectly as well. A great santoku knife from KitchenAid. Thanks for a great product.

  3. Before this knife, my knife collection was a set of three I got from IKEA for a dollar and a half, so I am probably not the best source on knife quality...but this one is much, MUCH better than those. :-D

I do love it -- seems very sharp to me, and I really like the slightly curved blade, which makes chopping things easier, by "rocking" the blade back and forth. Plus, it's pink, so I can always find it quickly in the drawer! (Note: this may not work if all of your other knives are already pink.) ;-)

  4. great, really sharp, pretty & i just luv it! anything pink kitchenaid cook for the cure is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Even my husband commented on what a handy knife this is for a wide variety of uses & he is a genuine Henckel lover. I am very pleased with it, esp for the price. It is comfortable, sharp enough to cut right thru fish heads & then thinly slice chicken or cucumbers & even tomatoes. If I could only have 1 knife, this would be it, which is amazing since I have 2 complete sets of Henckels!

  1. This apple slicer is great. Very sharp blades that cut through the apple with ease. The handles also make it comfortable to use.

  2. I bought it after reading the reviews but I am very disappointed with it.
I couldn't go through even half of an apple with it. One should be very strong indeed to use it to cut through a whole apple. And it is too big to cut my favourite golden delicious apple. The apple was too small for the slicer..

  3. I have owned 3 of these apple slicers from KitchenAide that I purchased from Amazon. I like them very much. They are sharp and quickly cut an apple while removing the core at the same time. Also, they go in the dishwasher no problem top or bottom rack. However, they only last about 18 months before they break completely through. The begin cracking on the sharp (down) side where the metal is embedded in the plastic.

  4. This slicer does a good job of coring and slicing average size apples. It does take a lot of push to get the slicer through the apple; I usually have to lean my torso over the apple to add extra weight to the push. I have previously owned a different brand whose handles were not all one piece, and it broke very quickly. This one is a better design, and so far it is lasting well. It goes through the dishwasher with no problems. The main problem I've had with this one is that if your apples are large, it doesn't remove all of the core, and if they are jumbo, they are wider than the slicer and you can't use it at all.

  1. I went ahead and spent the extra $40 for the silicone handles and kind of wished I hadn't. The set is BEAUTIFUL and the silicone handles provide a great grip, but it really wasn't worth $40! I would buy the regular DuPont handles, but definitely buy the Kitchenaid set. Work great, handy sharpener.

  2. beware of getting rusty after only few times of use, bought a month ago, got rusty, had to return it.
    Update:
I tried 3 different sets of this product, all 3 sets got rusty quickly. The set looks nice and it is very handy and resonably sharp. That is the reason I tried it, but it gets rusty very quickly. So I never buy Kitchenaid cutlery set.

  3. THIS IS A NICE SET OF CUTLERY FOR UNDER $100. EVEN THE STEAK KNIVES ARE QUITE NICE, UNLIKE SOME OF THE CHEAP STEAK KNIVES INCLUDED IN SOME SETS. LIKE MOST KNIVES IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BE WASHED, RINSED AND DRIED BY HAND AFTER EACH USE. AUTO DISHWASHER USE IS NOT RECOMMENDED. KNIVES TREATED WELL WILL NOT RUST GENERALLY. CUTLERY MADE OF MORE EXPENSIVE ALLOYS IS MORE RUST RESISTANT....A SINGLE KNIFE MAY COST MORE THAN THIS ENTIRE SET. IF I USED KNIVES HOURS EACH DAY I WOULD PURCHASE A FINE SET MADE OF GERMAN STEEL ALLOYS. BEST WISHES!

  1. I purchased a slightly larger set a few months ago and am absolutely in love with them! I originally bought Kitchenaid because I wanted to train myself on a "beginner's" set before I spent big bucks on "real" knives but don't see me replacing these anytime soon. After watching RR on the Food Network I just HAD to have the santoku knife that came with the set. I have found, however, that the chef knife has been my favorite. It even slices through tomatoes with NO effort! I do run my knives over the steel a couple of times after every use and even with using multiple times daily these babies stay SHARP! By now I'm sure my husband is tired of hearing "I LOVE my knives!" every day. Chopping is an absolute pleasure - in fact, I'm disappointed when I don't get to chop! Because of my awesome knives I'm using many more fresh fruits, vegetables and garlic in my cooking so we're eating healthier too. I have to say, this is one of my best purchases EVER. Love them, love them, love them!

  2. I received these knives as a gift for xmas and I love them. They are beautiful and are very sharp! I have heard that they rust if not cleaned right away and dried so I am preventing this by doing so. I have heard that all good knives rust so it is not as though these are the only set that might.

  3. This product new is OK but,the one that i received looks like used or was in demo at some store.

  1. I bought this for mother's day for my mother, a breast cancer survivor (6 years in 2007), despite the fact that my father does most of the cooking. About six months later, I visited them and made them a gourmet meal with these knives. I was shocked (pleasantly) when my dad said that their ceramic sharpener had broken, and they hadn't replaced it in over a year... so six months later, and these knives still were quite sharp. While they aren't the same quality of my normal wustoff knives, they certainly do the job "in a pinch". If you don't do a lot of cooking, but want to have something better than a box-store $10 butter knife, something along these lines will do perfectly.

  2. This is a great set of basic prep knives. The size and weight are perfect for me because my hands are somewhat small and the grips seem to be just right for petite hands. The textured grips provide an added measure of support. Blades are sharp and do the job well.

  3. These are very good knives. They are sharp and are of good construction. As a bonus they are pretty and look great on the counter.

  4. I've only used the knives a couple of times as I'm saving them for when I move into a new place, however when I have used them I've been impressed. The only thing is they are a little smaller than I imagined; however, this works for me because I have small hands.

  5. i bought it for mi house and all my family liked this knifes, good sharp and handle, maybe the color is not great, but it's ok.

  1. I bought this as a gift for my father, after I discovered it to be so useful. Since he eats apples everyday, my dad has found it to be one of his favorite kitchen tools and one of the best gifts he's ever received.

  2. I use to hate having to cut up apples for my 6 year old now it's a breeze. My mom bought one from a different manufactor and it can't handle larger apples. This one is the perfect size and cleans up easily in the dishwasher.

  3. It would be nice if it didn't get so much apple stuck in the cracks, but it can handle large apples, it's comfortable to use, and it saves a lot of time when making apple pie.

  4. This is a very good slicer, helps when you are dealing with lots of apples, like making applesauce, this was the first thing that I used it for, or making a pie, and is very good too when you are just getting one apple for eating, the core almost always came out in one piece, and makes very nice slices too!
