- These are the best counter top mats, so durable, so pretty and easy cleaning. Best I ever used. Love the colors
- These slide around on the top of my counter, so i have to use them on top of a wood cutting board where they sit tight. Which is fine as it gives them a little height, which i like for chopping and the like. Having said that, they are excellent. It is so nice to just change them out during food prep, and toss them in the dishwasher for sanitation (who needs color coding). No more washing a bunch of heavy wood cutting boards after every meal. I use them all of the time and they have held up well. And when they wear out, I'll just buy more.
- I purchased these form Amazon in 2005 and we are still using them on a daily basis. They are perfect for all of your cutting needs, and they are thick so they don't curl up (like other cutting mats we've had).
They make it much easier to add just chopped veggies/ meats, into pots on the stove because they are so portable and lightweight.
They only bad thing is that they get cut up from being used all the time, but since they are plastic they are easy to wash or throw in the dishwasher to sterilize.
A must have for anyone in the kitchen.
- The anti-skid stuff is pretty much useless. I give this product 4 stars because, unlike most similar products, it doesn't curl like a sombich. I've had mine for a good length of time and they're still flat after over a hundred dish washer cycles.
- These cutting boards, being flexible and flat, are easy to store anywhere and are easy to wash. I find that they do skid a little bit but it isn't a major problem. The colours add a nice change to the usual wooden boards or white plastic boards.

- These knives are an excellent value. I read several of the product reviews before I purchased these knives and found the reviews to be right on the mark. The company, J. A. Henckels, is well respected and the product lives up to their excellent reputation.
- This knife set is great! It is a good deal for the money, and am very satisfied with it.
- don't waste your time or money on this garbage. glad i only spent 10$ on mine, i only wasted 9.99$. the single taper on them drives to one side never letting you cut an even slice of anything. try to cross cut a pound of bacon and all you get is the teeth-like serrations all clogged up, making the knife as useful as a baseball bat. no knife stays sharp, simply get a nice sharpener and a good knife, or just go out to eat.
- Amazon's product description states:
Product Dimensions: 15.4 x 8.9 x 5.3 inches
I was concerned that because of the stated height it wouldn't easily fit under the light above the kitchen counter. But I figured that for the price I'd take a chance and find someplace else to put it.
However, the actual size is: 3.75" wide, 7.25" deep, and only 11" to the top of the top knife handle.
It's on the counter under the cabinet under the light, and there's plenty of room to grab that large handle top knife!
I've only had the set for three days, but so far although not impressive it seems to be quite sufficient for the purpose and good value for money.
- Not a high end quality knife set at all, and the knife block is not fitted to the knife set very well. On the other hand the set is sharp, and well rounded variety of knifes.

- A great knife with nice weight and balance. Once you use it you will never go back to other knives. Mine arrived not very sharp but a few swipes of the sharpening stone and it was great. I love it.
- I've used other expensive brand name knives for years, and recently bought the RH Forschner 7-inch knife, and LOVE IT!!! It cuts finely, and sharply. I've never enjoyed cutting vegetables more than with this knife.
- This is a good knife, sharp, and can cut very thin slices without effort. I've found that it does not cut thru tomato skins as easily as the smaller paring knife. Cutting from the backside is a breeze, but wish it was a tad bit sharper. Love the balance and strength.
- I use this knife whenever I'm cooking. I even took it to a friend's house that I was helping cook for a party. The knife is easy to handle and makes slicing, dicing, chopping a breeze. I love it!!
- Since I bought this Victorinox Santoku type knife in April I use it almost exclusively. It's light weight is a bit disconcerting only at first, in comparison to a 8 inch chiefs knife. When it got slightly dull I tried a very fine old Lamson steel at a shallow angle. It worked, but the angle was not as consistant as I wanted. I then tried the Wusthof Knife-Life Santoku sharpner it's great. It's sharpening angle is 17 degrees, my guess is the Victorinox's angle is slightly less. It only takes a couple of swipes through the fine ceramic stones and you are good for another weeks chopping. The quality of Victorinox's steel is very impressive. This is the best of their knives that I have purchased.

- I love this product. It's not as big as you expect but it's very compact and handy, perfect to throw in your utility drawer. Sharpens great! Although the first day I used it I already cut off the rubber bands that hold the fingers together but that's only because it sharpened my knife so well while it was sharpening, that i accidentally cut it off. All my knives are sharpened now and slice through everything! Great recommendation.
- We were quite impressed. Two swipes and the knife was sharper then when we got it. I will be telling all my friends.
- This thing is awesome! The best and last sharpener you will ever need. It automatically adjusts to your knife!
- Just got this, it does not seem to work that great, not sure if we are using it correctly, our old knifes seem just as dull as before after using. I know about the Tech model, maybe that is what we need ? My wife is a chef and has some very good knifes, but she doesn't think this is that great.
- I got this item from the Handy House when it first became available at that time The Handy House was the only one handling it. I use it a lot and it does a great job on knives. It can not be used on serrated knives, But great for all others.

- Worked like a charm. They don't take a lot of room up in my drawers. The color coding helps if you're trying to separate for specific reasons (i.e. vegetables, meat, etc). For what you get for the price, definitely worth picking up.
- THESE ARE OK. I WISH THEY WERE A LITTLE HEAVIER. NOW TO GET EVERYONE TO USE THEM.
- This is the second set I bought. They are very durable and are well worth the money. The different colors make it easy for you to seperate which ones are used for chicken, beef, vegetables, etc.
- Easy to clean. Very Flexible. Green for veggies, red for meat, blue for fish, You make the designation. Lessens cross contamination of foods. How ever I use this in concert with a wood cutting board for more heft.
These mats do not stand up to the ruff stuff. You will leave cut marks on the mat. How ever I don't think they are designed to last. But they keep my wood board clean and I can just fold my chopped items in the mat and transfer it to my pots and bowls. Very Convenient. Plus if you have lots of helpers there is enough to go around. Nice for picnics too. Please keep in mind these are plastic not silicone! And yes when these wear out I will buy them again. These are far easier to wash and sanitize than that heavy cutting board. They keep my very nice wood cutting board looking very nice.
- this is a great set of five dif colored thin plastic cutting boards. They are convenient to place anywhere in the kitchen and do not take up a lot of spce. they also roll up nicely if you secure with a rubber band. They are a bit stiff, so dont expect anything that is as flexible as silicone would be. The different colors are convenient when slicing and dicing different items. Overall, a great value! would recommend to anyone

- This knife is handy for peeling apples and also for slicing. The knife is small and lightweight with good balance and the handle is textured so it doesn't slip. And it's sharp! I've used it to slice lemons, carrots, potatoes, apples, etc. and it cuts smoothly with little effort. This is a smaller than usual paring knife; I think the standard size has a 4" blade, but the length is great for fine mincing of garlic and herbs. Good value for the money.
- Everything I am looking for in a paring knife... I will be buying another one after discovering how great it works for me. Fantastic price for such an awesome knife.
- This is absolutely the best paring knife I've ever purchased. I bought it after reading in Cooks Illustrated that it beat its more expensive peers in essentially all of their tests, and it has done the same in my kitchen. It is a little more flexible than most paring knives, though still rigid enough to be used with anything. I end up using it for tasks that would normally require a much larger chef's knife because it's so convenient and comfortable.
I generally use Wusthof Classic knives, including a Wüsthof Gourmet 4-Inch Paring Knife that costs $19. That's enough to buy three of these perfect little Forschner knives and still have some money left over. Do yourself a favor and buy the three Forschner ones.
Since my original purchase, I have bought at least 5 more of these knives for myself and others. Never will your loved ones be so thankful for a $5 gift!
I've had these knives for a while and have had no issues with them losing sharpness -- I occasionally run the knife over a sharpening steel just to make sure the blade is still aligned, but it really shouldn't require any care. And if you do have any problems -- hey, it only cost five bucks.
- This is a great little knife for a great price! I have an assortment of more expensive paring knives, none of which keeps an edge for very long. This one keeps its edge, is light and easy to hold, and was cheap.
- This knife has a good feel to it and is very sharp though I would not consider it a "paring" knife. I would recommend it because it's good quality at a great price. (My idea of a paring knife is something a little smaller with a curved handle and blade.)

- Watch out- don't cut yourself. This is one great little sharpener. My knives have never been sharper. Easy to use. I can cut paper thin slices now. Well made unit. Want a sharp knife- buy this! Just be careful because your knives will be sharp!
- I have never been able to master the sharpening stone and have tried several other knife sharpeners that did not work well. This one was easy to use and my knives are all sharp now.
I noticed others had commented about lack of instructions. On the back of the package it gave instructions for sharpening knives and scissors.
- only few stroke made the knife really sharp. definitely recommand for those who spent a lot of money and waiting for a professional sharpener.
- If the sharpening steel that came with your knifes just isn't cutting it (pun intended), then this sharpener is for you. One slot with steel for rough sharpening, one slot with ceramic rods for fine sharpening (I use this slot most of the time), and one slot for scissors (haven't used this one yet). Very easy to use, very stable, and VERY effective!
If you keep your knives sharp, it should last for years!
- Great product! I used this at work to sharpen all of our scissors which were all dull and we constantly had to replace. Everyone was very happy to have sharp scissors and our store will save money not having to replace scissors. Also environmentally better.
I use this at home as well in the kitchen on my cutco knives it works pretty good.

- These knives are a great bargain, very sharp, easy cleaning. A definite great buy if your looking for a very good quality knife set at a reasonable price.
- I bought these for $80 on sale, and sent them back the next day. Apart from everything else the block was scratched in 3 places.
These knives weigh nothing and would be unpleasant to use if you want any heft at all.
Perhaps if these were presented as $80 knives I'd have had a different opinion, but I thought I was getting better knives at a great Lightning Deal price.
Once again, Cuisinart is trading on it's reputation for quality food processors.
- This set is decent, though a few things could have been different to lower the price and make it more appealing.
First off, eight steak knives is flat out overkill. Six would have been better.
Also, the scissors and sharpening tool have tacky black plastic handles, which are quite the eyesore to the type of person who buys all stainless knives. Dump those two items, shave off two steak knives, and drop the price by about thirty dollars and this set would do much better.
The santoku knives are great, I've been a fan of those for years. Yet again, however, there is excess with two 3 1/2 inch parers... a regular one and a santoku version.
Okay, enough whining. These are still good knives. They are very stylish, especially with the black block as opposed to the typical wood, and the block separates for buffet situations. The handles are comfortable and have a natural grip. I also like the lightweight feel, since I prefer that my kitchen cutlery not weigh as much as a knight's sword. If you use proper technique and pressure, you'll have no problem wielding these on unsuspecting vegetables.
Overall, I say four stars, mainly due to styling. They are not Wusthof knives, but they are certainly not as expensive either. If they ever sell a streamlined version of this set, get it. If not, and you can handle the extra bulk, then this set will do.
- I like the knives but the block is way too wide. Worth the prices but it is a little irritating to give up so much counter space. I may end up having to buy either a third party block or a magnet bar.

- It works very well. The directions are clear. It takes a couple of tries to get good at it. The key is slowly and smoothly draw the knife through the sharpener without applying pressure. Repeat until desired sharpness has been achieved. I think it is great.
- My knives are as sharp as the day I bought them. I love this sharpener. One caution-do not sharpen scissors. I ruined the pair that came with my knife set.
- You know your knives are getting dull and then you run them through this very nice sharpener - -WOW! They are like new again! A sharp knife is the best tool you can have in the kitchen. Great price also!
- This sharpener is very quick and convenient to use. However, the stones are very course and if your not carefull youll take more metal off the blade than is necessary. Ive started using the second stage only and completely bypass the first stage because its to course.
- I was skeptical about this item and the results definitely proved me wrong. The directions state that you need to glide your knives in a single direction, once on the left inserts then you move to the right, and voila! Your knives are sharp again! No harsh pulling or pressing. The only thing that's lacking in this product is that it doesn't work with serrated knives or shears; therefore, if you want a sharpener that takes care of those types of knives, I'd purchase another product. Most of my knives are straight edged so this works well for me.

- Received my knife a few weeks ago. I love how it fits my hand and how it cuts. My only reservation is that it now has a couple of stains on the blade that won't clean off. I will be buying more of their knives.
- Recommended by one of my cooking magazines; excellent quality -- low price. They have several in their test kitchen; what more could be said?
- Went to a "knife skills" class at a Chicago cooking school and realized what a good knife can do in the kitchen. But, then I gagged at the prices. Surfed the Internet and found the reviews for the Forschners, and decided to take a chance. Got the 8" Chef and 7" Santoku about a month ago. Fantastic knives. Light weight, very sharp and great balance. All in all, I think they are superior to the $150 to $500 knives we used in the class.
- It's that sharp. For it cut my entire hand off. maybe you will want a more dull knive for kniving. I had to use the other hand to type this very message! It's a good thing I have several. All I wanted to do was chop broccoli, but it felt so good. You know what it's like to get carried away.
- I can't say enough great things about this knife. I work as a personal chef, and it's invaluable for the hours of prep work I do each week. Stays sharp very well, with the occasional run against the back of a ceramic plate. Love it.
