  1. Within four months the rivets had corroded in all of the knives but I decided to live with it. After 10 months one side of the handle separated from the rivets in one of the knives and it just fell apart. I am sending the whole set back to Henckels immediately.

  2. I bought these for my husband, a gourmet chef. He loves them. They are high quality and the price is right.

  3. Henckels is a great brand & has consistently great products. We own a set of Henckels Pro-S knives & LOVE them so, I was a little hesitant to order these since the "twin gourmet" series is the cheaper line in the brand however, I shouldn't have worried. These knives are terrific - very sharp & durable & a great buy for the price. We use them practically every day & they are still razor-sharp. Highly recommend!

  4. Got a set of Henckels Twin Pro knives for a wedding gift and decided to buy the steak knives to complement them. So far, love them!

  5. I rarely eat meat, but am always chopping veggies. These knives have survived the "dish-washing" tests, and slicing tomatoes and onions (always a difficulty for me with their skins, and my arthritic hands) makes life a lot easier in the kitchen. I can get thin perfect slices, and the carnivores in the family find them great for meat. For me this was well worth the price!

  1. The name speaks for itself; world-class product. Ordered, shipped, and received without difficulty; great service from Amazon and superb product from Henckles.

  2. In recient years I have worked on aquiring quite a selection of Henckle knives. I started with a set of cheep international series Henckle knives, but a some point needed a "step up". I purchased a single four star knife, used it for a week, and have been hooked ever since. I have used most "as seen on TV" brands... well I am still hooked on four star. The only competition they have with me is their own Pro S series. Eargonomic handles, easy to maintain, and a great design for use in the kitchen.

  3. This is an excellent knife for general cutting and slicing. It's length is just the right size for easy handling and safety.
Stays sharp longer than my other premium knives.

  4. I have several sizes of these knives. This one, the smallest one, is the one I use most. Thus I had to get a new one after 2-3 years. No complaints; the cutting capability far exceeds cheap knives from K-mart/Walmart type stores. You pay a bit more, but the quality is well worth the difference.

  5. I bought this knife to replace a 3" paring that inexplicably broke. The blade just snapped in half after slipping off the counter into the sink. I prefer the 4" size, and had no hesitation to replace Henckels with Henckels.

  1. With our other good Henckels, the handles are black and thus look like the el-cheapo steak knives, so they get tossed in the dishwasher by mistake by me, the scatterbrained wife, and that is (one of) my husband's pet peeves. That, and cutting in his pans. Don't ever cut in the man's precious pans...so we bought these brightly colored ones. Good stuff, and cheaper than couples therapy.

  2. I owned the set, but the blue knife got thrown out and I was happy to be able to replace it without buying the wooden block, knife holder.

  3. These Henckels blades are not premium quality. I like the blades on the Swiss made Forschner paring knives more than these, but the larger handles on these Chinese made Henckels knives were more comfortable for my large hands. I have an older German made Henckels paring knife that has a superior blade to these blades. Too bad you can't purchase the Forschner blades with these Henckels handles. These Chinese made Henckels paring knives are still better than a cheap supermarket brand. I recommend the Forschner paring knife set over the Henckels paring knife set, but they both have there pros and cons.

  4. These knives are as described, sharp, light weight and have comfortable handles. They do the job at a low price.

  5. The knives are very sharp...but the handle is too light! Therefore the knives do not feel balanced when using them. It's almost a bit scary as I have to be so very careful to not cut myself. A more balanced heavier handle would have made these a five star set. Nice for the money, but not as pleasurable to work with since one has to be so careful!

  1. The scissors I purchases were a hostess gift. I spent a week with my friend and she was using some old, worn-out scissors.

I had received my pair for Christmas last year, and use them daily for all kinds of jobs. I went online and ordered her a pair just like mine.

She loves them as much as I do.

  1. I decided to treat myself to this knife after purchasing a 4 star 6 inch chef's knife and realizing just how good a Henckels knife is. Fit, finish, balance, ability to take and hold an edge make this a good investment.Prepping veggies, dicing,or delicately slicing "silverskin" off a piece of meat goes so much easier.Next purchase will be a 4 inch of same.I will not have to purchase another paring knife in my lifetime.Excellent quality and worth the money. By the way, I'm a firm believer in sharpening stones and steels but the Henckels knife sharpner is great.2 passes through (lightly) and your good to go for many cutting jobs.

  2. I'm the kind of person that likes simplicity. I don't need a block of 20 knives when I can buy two or three high quality knives for a comparable price. I already have a JAH large knife. I needed something a bit smaller to complement it. For Christmas my mom got me a block of JAH knives for 49.99, though they were not the four-star quality. I took them back and bought only this knife, saving myself $30. It was a great exchange. I love this knife. I cut a lot of vegetables and fruit. This knife cuts clean through without catching. Highly recommended.

  3. My favorite. This paring knife is heftier than most, but well balanced and has a good feel in the hand. And it's attractive in appearance! Made in Germany. I'm not sure what they mean by "twin": it is a single knife with one single-edged blade (just like your average kitchen knife). Unlike many knives, however, the haft end of the blade thickens gradually and meets the end of the handle flush, rather than having the thin blade inserted into the handle. There must also be more of the blade steel that goes into the handle, since the balance point of the knife is about midlength. In general shape, it reminds me of a hunting knife my dad used to have.

  4. I have several knives from the 4 star collection of Henckels and have had them for years...I replaced this paring knife because I had lost mine and thought perhaps it wound up in the trash...so I bought a new one..and no sooner did it arrive then I found the missing one!...now I have two..but no biggie..they must be the most used knives in my kitchen for prep work..The other knife I love from this line is the Santuko Riveted knife...If you are looking for a great knife at a reasonable price give Henckels a try..you wont be sorry!

  5. I didn't think I'd ever again buy a German or French made kitchen knife: too heavy, too thick compared to Japanese knives. The reviews suggested that this knife was well made with a thinner blade and it was half the price of the next closest Japanese knife. Worth a try. Very nice knife. Light, sharp, good in the hand, and easy to clean. Initial very sharp edge has stayed sharp a long time where the French blade it replaced would have had to have been sharpened at least twice. Worth the money.

  1. I bought this "Henckels Twin Signature 7-Piece Block Set as $99.95.

Thre price of $99.95 for this set is the best among all retailers.

  2. This is probably the best "beginner" knife set I've seen. Extremely good quality, and amazingly affordable especially when on sale at Amazon (as the often are). I purchased these and another one for a friend. Highly recommend.

  3. All in all, a great set of home-use knives. It's not pro-level quality, but you're not paying hundreds of dollars either. For the price and if you're just looking for a nice set of brand-name knives for daily use...I would highly recommend these. My visitors who know enough about knives to recognize the brand thinks they are 'really really' expensive knives...so a good way to show off with out paying a lot.

  4. I have to say, I was a little skeptical about buying expensive knives after always shopping at walmart for this type of thing. I actually bought them for my husband for Christmas because he loves to cook. My first cut Christmas day was a tomato and I am now a TRUE BELIEVER! These knives are perfect! I will be adding to the set! My favorite is the paring knive, at first the slightly curved blade threw me off, but with the balanced handle and the curved blade I have no slippage issues with the fruits or veggies as I cut! I never realized how much more effort I exerted using bad knives, now it takes very little effort to cut and peel items for dinner and snacks, I have especially noticed a difference with potatoes and apples. The handles are fantastic with the curved hand grip, it fits extremely small hands like mine but it fits my husbands large hands perfectly also. Amazing knives, I definitely would recomend them to anyone. I had just bought a set of santoku knives by a famous chef 2 weeks before Christmas and have not touched them since!

  5. The Twin Signature is the lower end of Henckels more professional brand. The knives are sleek, very sharp. Great Value for great price (when on sale).

  1. For this amount of money, you can get 4 very "sharp" multitasking knives.

The red one that I thought, I would use the lest out of the 4, is what I use daily in the kitchen.Truly multitasking. Delicate fruits/ any bread/ sandwich/cake

The green one- any job can be done with it in the kitchen.

The other two knives work greatly as backup knives.

One could say that the knives are cheap looking with those vivid colors of the knives. However, the color code was one of the reasons for my purchase. I tend to lose small knives- so far 4 henkel 4 star paring knives have been lost. The color code helps me keep track of the knives and prevent me from cutting myself when I take out the knives from the drawer.

    Highly recommended.

  2. Got these for use in the RV - the colored handles make them easy to see in the drawer - no accidents! Nice product - especially at this price.

  3. My mother was in need of paring knives and I read the reviews on this set and decided to get them for her. They arrived while I was visiting her for three weeks and I used them daily. They feel good in the hand. The handles are long enough and the blades are thin making them easy to maneuver when coring apples, peeling potatoes or sectioning oranges. The blades arrived sharp and overall they seem to be a good bargain. I will be ordering a set for myself as they are a good compliment for any existing knife set. Just remember that they are 'paring' knives, designed to cut fruit and vegetables in the hand more than to slice or chop on a cutting board.

  4. Highly recommend this set of knives. I use them all the time for everything from cutting a piece of fruit to slicing cheese. Love the color coded handles too. They are very sharp and the blades are nice and fine (thin). I got them to replace a very old set of Henkels paring knives. If you take care of these, they will last many years.

  5. I was delighted to receive these knives, and even more delighted after using them. But then came the disappointment ... rusting after two uses (already!) on the blades.

Package clearly says "dishwasher safe." There is no good reason to handwash this knife, given it's materials & price.

I would have been better off picking up the 4-piece set of Chicago Cutlery paring knives for under $4 ... at least they won't rust in the dishwasher.

  1. I got the knives to go with the new flatware. I went with a name I trusted and they are great.

  2. These knives are a great value, i have had an original set for over 10 years and they remain sharp. One piece design so they are great for the dishwasher too

  3. J.A. Henckels International Stainless Steel 8-Piece Steak Knife Set
Excellant set.Well balanced. Cuts effortlessly. I saw some comments about the handle being too small on this set. I wear XXL size gloves and was a little apprehensive about the comments on the size. I do not think it is an issue at all. I am very happy and comfortable with this set.

  4. I got this steak knife set to go with a 45 piece flatware set from JA Henckels and was not disappointed. I am extremely happy I purchased this set along with the Henckels flatware set and both sets should last for decades. The knives are sharp, have a sold feel, look great, and are reasonably priced as it appears this set will provide years of cutting meat with ease. I highly recommend this set and thoroughly enjoy them myself. After friends have used them they usually ask where I got these because they are so impressed with the solid feel and ease in cutting meat they want a set of their own. If you get the woodblock too they look great on the counter.

  5. The steaks knives are bright stainless steel and tolerate dishwasher use. The cutting edge is sharp and effective. The quality, appearance and style of this knife set is very high. The price is a bragain. I would highly recommend for anyone on a meat diet.

  1. It may be Henckels, but they are cheap and they rust. Save up for a couple of higher end Henckels that will last. And don't put them in the dishwasher!

  2. Excellent knives, I bought 2 sets, they resist very well ti being washed in the dishwasher, I am thinking of buying another set. I would recommend it to anyone.

  3. I had these knives from like 10 years ago throughout the years I had lost a few, purchased the same knife and the old ones are just as sharp as the new ones they
    never dull Love them.

  4. I had purchased a set of 4 of these knives several years ago - and they were the only ones that I had owned that actually stayed sharp and did not separate from their handles. These are an excellent value - would recommend them to anyone!

  5. What do you ask from a steak knife?
    It must cut.
It must be easy to wash.
This set of knives does both and at about thirty bucks!
For the money you can't go wrong with these. Granted, they are not for your formal place setting, but for every day use they are more than adequate. They are not only sharp but are also dishwasher safe.
You can't go wrong with these.

  1. These knives are an excellent value. I read several of the product reviews before I purchased these knives and found the reviews to be right on the mark. The company, J. A. Henckels, is well respected and the product lives up to their excellent reputation.

  2. This knife set is great! It is a good deal for the money, and am very satisfied with it.

  3. don't waste your time or money on this garbage. glad i only spent 10$ on mine, i only wasted 9.99$. the single taper on them drives to one side never letting you cut an even slice of anything. try to cross cut a pound of bacon and all you get is the teeth-like serrations all clogged up, making the knife as useful as a baseball bat. no knife stays sharp, simply get a nice sharpener and a good knife, or just go out to eat.

  4. Amazon's product description states:

    Product Dimensions: 15.4 x 8.9 x 5.3 inches

I was concerned that because of the stated height it wouldn't easily fit under the light above the kitchen counter. But I figured that for the price I'd take a chance and find someplace else to put it.

However, the actual size is: 3.75" wide, 7.25" deep, and only 11" to the top of the top knife handle.

It's on the counter under the cabinet under the light, and there's plenty of room to grab that large handle top knife!

I've only had the set for three days, but so far although not impressive it seems to be quite sufficient for the purpose and good value for money.

  5. Not a high end quality knife set at all, and the knife block is not fitted to the knife set very well. On the other hand the set is sharp, and well rounded variety of knifes.
