  1. I was very pleased with the service. The knife arrived and is brand new, very nice. Had the knife in a very short time and wouldn't hesitate to order other things in the future.

  2. the B&D electric knife lived up to the excellent review given by the America's Test Kitchen. Performed quite well.

  3. This item was supposed to arrive WITH a storage case. It did not. There is no protection form the edge of the knife blades for storage. The knife had trouble cutting through a heavy bread crust. I really liked the previous mod of this knife (ERGO). There must be better electric knives in the market place...

  4. The knife was in perfect condition and arrived in a timely manner. My only disappointment was that it was advertised as a 'Slim Line' handle but was not a slim line handle which makes it harder for a small person to hold and manipulate.

  1. The design features for the on/off switch is a good idea if you have dry hands and are prone to dropping things. Otherwise, the on/off switch is not good at all. The button is hard to press down and is a trigger type switch that does not allow for the blade to be left in the on position. You actually need to keep a lot of pressure of the switch to keep it going. The blade was sharp for the one and only time I used it. I took it back right after Thanksgiving.

  2. It works perfectly for my use. Good price... good quality. Thank you, Amazon.

  3. This was supposed to be a new item. It definately wasn't. The Proctor label on the handle was worn and the blades were dirty. I was very disappointed!

The switch doesn't have an on/off feature. You have to hold it on while you're using it. That's not good for people with hand trouble.

  4. Actually carved my turkey very nicely. But the locking mechanism for the blades broke the very first time it was used.

  5. The blades are nice and sharp, but this knife weighs a ton - not good, since you have to hold down the "on" switch the whole time. But worse than that was the overheating. The unit got HOT after slicing up only half a loaf of biscotti. If it can't take that, how on earth would it make it through a whole turkey?!

Next time I'll lay out more cash for a knife that can actually handle a little work.

  1. I bought this knife to replace one that was an antique. (It finally failed after over 20 years - switch wore out.)
This is a piece of junk! My first "adventure" with this knife was to cut super thin slices of ham. The blades wobbled (left to right) so bad I could hardly cut the ham at all. It was not controllable. I felt that it was dangerous. I did like the feel in my large hands. If mine wasn't defective, these should be recalled!

  2. I am a woman, and found this knife bulky to use, my arm was exhausted when cutting a roast. This knife has the knife release on the top, so when you are trying to cut, 1 finger is on the trigger, and your thumb fits right on top of the knife release, you had to think about moving your thumb away from that buttom, so it would not release while you are cutting. I may just throw it away and buy a more user friendly model.

  3. We owned this knife for one day, then took it back.
    The pros:
    It's electric
    The Cons:
I used it to carve a boneless cooked pork roast, turkey and pre-sliced ham. I didn't attempt to cut through bone or gristle.
Design: ergonomically poorly designed; poorly balanced, heavy in weight without being sturdy in performance or power; blades wobble even after being inserted properly and then reinserted just to make sure. The more you use it, the more they wobble.
Motor: Gives off a tremendous amount of heat making the unit almost difficult to hold; seems motor is underpowered.
On Button: If your hands get the least bit greasy it's very easy for your trigger finger and supporting fingers to slip dangerously close to the blades. I attribute this to the poor balance of the knife and poorly designed handle.

Recommendation: Don't buy this. Consider the Black & Decker slim line model, which I have owned in the past and intend to purchase again. My old B & D gave up the ghost after many years of service, primarily since I cut through some frozen desserts.

  4. one of the best deals i have gotten. my wife needed a new knife, this came in a case and out performs the last two that she had!

  5. I purchased this knife after browsing through the different models for 30 minutes. The only reason I decided on this one was because a) I have been happy with Hamilton Beach in the past and b) because it was the most expensive one Zeller's had (figured if I am not going to be replacing it for another 10 years go with the best of the bunch....keeping in mind that it was only $40). I even gave this machine an easy test run, bread. The blades wobbled, the sound resembled that of a lawn mower and I used two hands to hold it because the base is so large and awkward. I don't know who's to blame, Hamilton Beach for making such a poor product or me for bringing it home. I have never been more disappointed with an electric knife.

  1. I hate this knife. I've had it for a year now and every once in a while I figure I'll give it another shot so I pull it out again and am quickly reminded of why I hate it.

First: the two blades are too far apart - I end up with a good fraction of what I'm cutting getting shredded BETWEEN to the two blades.

Second: there's no lock for the trigger so you have to hold it down for the entirety of the slice (and if sawing through a thick roast, you're holding it down for a REALLY long time).

Third: The handle is large and awkward. I don't have small hands but just to be sure, I had my large handed friend try it. He didn't consider it to be particularly comfortable either.

I'm going to see if I can find a better electric knife because, lord knows, a good one could get a lot of use in my kitchen. The "try agains" for this one are over - I'm putting it on Ebay for some other unfortunate soul to use. Clearly there are a lot of positive reviews so I'll sell it to someone who might actually like the thing!

  2. Actually, my husband and I ended up both buying the same knife. We used the one he bought one time and threw it out because the blades wiggled so much. It was impossible to create nice slices, the meat really looked "butchered", nothing I'd serve to a guest. So, I sent this one back unused.

  3. We purchased the knife as a Christmas gift and the shipping was very fast and the recipients say it works well.

  4. I purchased this knife to replace an old one that had worn out. This knife is VERY hard to hold while activating the blades. I am not a wimp but this is difficult and tires the hand. Also, the blades do not cut nearly as well as my old set did. As soon as I can, I am buying a different electric knife and throw this away. It's JUNK!

  5. After 2 years with this product, it has been a miracle! The wife even quit locking herself in the bathroom during Turkey Carving time now every time we use it. Just a wonderful. easy to use & clean product. When something works, it just works!. This is one of those things.

  1. This knife worked well prior to an untimely death, after being used only a handful of times. I contacted Cuisinart, only to be informed that the 3 year warranty begins as of manufature date; it doesn't matter when it actually made it to the consumer. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Cuisinart product again.

  2. The blades broke the very first time I used them. In my opinion thay are very porely made.

  3. This product is a piece of junk.My first knife quit after six months. The replacement I received lasted about nine months and customer service was totally uncooperative making me jump thru hoops as I sought to get another replacement.I gave up on this asI knew as I got nowhere with a rude, inconsiderate person.I am going to purchase another but I will never buy any Cuisinart product.

  4. When it works, it is great. But I returned 2 of them after a short time because of it overheating or stopping totally.

  5. this is a pretty good electric knife, i had trouble finding one but think i like this one

  1. This is a great deal, knife works like a charm. I use it to make custom motorcycle seats, to shape the foam. and very good cost too!!!!

  2. Found this product to be a wonderfull device. Was purchased for a gift and
helped my mother use it. Was very easy to install and remove the blades.
This knife was a lot better than the old one and for the cost it was well
worth the purchase. Excellant price compared to others.

  3. So far this product has worked well for us. It's very simple to use and easy to clean. The only problem that has ever come up is my wife keeps trying to insert the blades upside down so that the trigger is on top.

  4. Very easy to use and cuts perfectly through cold beef, such a bargain at a low price.

  5. I use them (I bought 2 as I usually go through 2 electric knives per summer) for filleting fish.
Great knifes, easy to hold and use. I like the on/off switch operation.
