  1. I almost bought a Good Grips meat fork with a rubber handle until I saw this one. I love Good Grips kitchen tools, and have come to depend on the brand when I'm looking for a nice, solid, reasonably priced kitchen tool. However, in the past, my one complaint has been that when I store utensils in a crock next to the stove, those non-slip handles that I love stick together, and it becomes impossible to grab just one tool - you wind up pulling out 6. This handle fixes that problem. It still has the nice, comfortable handle with rubber on either side for grip, but the stainless steel is much easier to grab quickly out of the crock. I'll definately be looking for more tools with this handle. The fork itself is nice and sturdy, a good size, and handles well. I would reccommend this product.

  2. This may well be the perfect fork. I like the OXO series of cutlery, and this is no exception. This fork is very well balanced and has a wonderful handle that is secure and resists slippage.

The fork itself is made of stainless steel, and is dishwasher safe; a huge benefit not found on some high end cutlery today. The handle is in line with the other contemporary OXO utensils, with a stainless handle for superior durability and strength, but with rubberized fins on the sides to provide you with excellent grip, which is especially important on a fork of this size that can be counted upon to lift things like heavy roasts, etc. Another excellent feature is the barbed tines, which help prevent heavy items from falling from the fork during lifting.

There may be a greater fork somewhere, but I haven't found it yet. For all your forking needs, this gets a big thumbs up!

  3. I really like this fork. Very stylish & works great. My husband used it for BQ.

  1. I had been looking for plastic fork for quite some time. They used to come as part of a set for teflon coated pots/pans. I finally came across the OXO fork, the product is hefty, and does the job. When a tool works the way it is supposed to, you have to give it a good rating, at least nowadays.

  2. This fork is just prefect for all kinds of kitchen jobs. Plus it easy to clean, no nooks or cranies

  3. Needed a fork for my non-stick pans. This does the trick for what I needed.

  1. so good to use easy for cutting bread nice and alot more uses in the kitching

  2. Sonic Blade Electric Cordless Knife As Seen on Tv This is worst product I have purchased.
Even if the blade worked (it doesn't) it would be awkward and difficult to use - near impossible if you have arthritis in your hands. But the product doesn't do what it claims. Cutting frozen meat is a fantasy - when it was new it was difficult to even cut fresh meat. About the only thing it was good for was cutting fresh bread. After a couple of months it doesn't even do that. The knife does not recharge no matter how long you leave it in the charger. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product

  3. Despite the bad reviews i still like the sonic blade.I have one and it did work great on most everything.ButI also had the one side of the blade plastic brake off.It still worked though. And i got to warn not to use on hard cheese it was the end it will not work at all after that. But i still like the way it works so i bought another one. When i recieved the new one there was slip with a toll free # saying to call if their were any problems to call.So i did and they are sending a new one.Hopefully they are working on some improvements to this device cause when it does work it works great.NOT ON HARD CHEESE THATS A BIG NO NO.

  4. The good thing about this product is that it is cordless and the battery life is good, however, the knife isn't as effective as I'd hoped. Don't expect to cut anything hard or frozen. Forget melons, winter squash or hard cheese among other things. You won't be cutting chickens in half and it even has trouble with hard crusted bread. It is useful for carving a turkey, making thin slices of ham, salmon, etc., and not having to fuss with a cord is a benefit, but a good chef's knife does a better job with most things.

  5. Disappointing. The battery life is minimal, it is very clumsy to handle. I will throw it in the garbage.

  1. I hate this knife. I've had it for a year now and every once in a while I figure I'll give it another shot so I pull it out again and am quickly reminded of why I hate it.

First: the two blades are too far apart - I end up with a good fraction of what I'm cutting getting shredded BETWEEN to the two blades.

Second: there's no lock for the trigger so you have to hold it down for the entirety of the slice (and if sawing through a thick roast, you're holding it down for a REALLY long time).

Third: The handle is large and awkward. I don't have small hands but just to be sure, I had my large handed friend try it. He didn't consider it to be particularly comfortable either.

I'm going to see if I can find a better electric knife because, lord knows, a good one could get a lot of use in my kitchen. The "try agains" for this one are over - I'm putting it on Ebay for some other unfortunate soul to use. Clearly there are a lot of positive reviews so I'll sell it to someone who might actually like the thing!

  2. Actually, my husband and I ended up both buying the same knife. We used the one he bought one time and threw it out because the blades wiggled so much. It was impossible to create nice slices, the meat really looked "butchered", nothing I'd serve to a guest. So, I sent this one back unused.

  3. We purchased the knife as a Christmas gift and the shipping was very fast and the recipients say it works well.

  4. I purchased this knife to replace an old one that had worn out. This knife is VERY hard to hold while activating the blades. I am not a wimp but this is difficult and tires the hand. Also, the blades do not cut nearly as well as my old set did. As soon as I can, I am buying a different electric knife and throw this away. It's JUNK!

  5. After 2 years with this product, it has been a miracle! The wife even quit locking herself in the bathroom during Turkey Carving time now every time we use it. Just a wonderful. easy to use & clean product. When something works, it just works!. This is one of those things.

  1. This is definitely in the class of Henckels ($80). Solid and nice looking. I purchased 3. What a great gift! It even comes nicely packaged. Definitely not a 'Chinese Cheapo'!

  2. We have needed a meat fork for ages, but we were always put off by the cost, upwards of $150. When this fork was offered, we said this is it. What a deal for great quality.

  3. So this is a good quality, basic fork. It won't fit in your knife block though since they made the tang a little too thick at the base. It functions but you'll have to drawer it instead of showing it off on the countertop with the rest of your collection.

  4. The Calphalon Traditional 6-Inch Carving Fork is an excellent product. The value is outstanding since this fork will obviously last a lifetime. It is extremely well made and matches the much more expensive German made products of a similar type. I highly recommend this item for those looking to purchase a quality carving fork at a budget price.

  5. Like many of the other reviewers for this product, I'm a knife FANATIC. Unless it costs more than my first car, I probably won't consider buying it (ok not really, but you get my point). I was shopping at a discount store one day when I came across this item. It was around $10-$15, and I couldn't believe it. The quality was so above the price, and the quality looked and felt very similar to my Wüsthof or Henckel knives.

You really need to see this thing in person, and feel how nice it really is. I probably would have never bought this online, without seeing it first. But that's why I'm leaving this review - to tell you that it truly is the best thing you will get for this price range...and come on! Who needs an expensive carving fork anyway?!

  1. unfortunately, my idiot brother put it in the dishwasher while he was visiting so I have to buy a new one. only wash it off with some soap and water. otherwise it gets scratched up and ruined. but i am buying this knife again. properly cared for, it is very sharp, great for cutting meat and also sushi rolls, and so cute!

  2. It's sharp and pretty. Don't be fooled. It's not a toy or dull.

  3. Don't let the low price throw you; this is a well balanced knife that is really sharp and holds an edge very well. I liked it so much that I bought one of every style.

  4. What a fun knife but so functional. This is my favorite knife for tomatoes. I can slice them paper thin or thick and chopping is a breeze. I would recomend this knife to everyone!!

  5. Okay okay so I have to admit that the color was the first thing that caught my eye with this knife. I was shopping at Zabars, one of my favorite stores, and the Komachi collection stood out amongst a field over dark and silver cutlery. I am in between buying serious knives from Global and Shun which aren't something I want to spend all my money on at the moment so I thought this would be a nice filler while I ponder which knife set I truly want.

This knife is apparently set to be a meat cutting one, and even thought I am starting to prefer the santoku design ( with the little eclipse indentations towards the bottom - this one isn't )because of their ability not to have anything you cut stick to the blade, I think it's little funny that this cannot simply be called an all purpose knife. I cut veggies and meat with it, and the sharpness diminished a little bit but not really because I have been cutting something extremely hard, a tomato for example wasn't yielding too quickly but in the end this blade did a decent job of cutting thought the skin.

Overall this is a cheap, lightweight and cute looking knife, the clear handle is very comfortable and the blade is always easy to find since the color is so unusual. I recommend gentle washing in favor of not disturbing the sharp edge, only one side is sharpened and it seems to get dulled a little if not handled gingerly.

  1. This knife worked well prior to an untimely death, after being used only a handful of times. I contacted Cuisinart, only to be informed that the 3 year warranty begins as of manufature date; it doesn't matter when it actually made it to the consumer. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Cuisinart product again.

  2. The blades broke the very first time I used them. In my opinion thay are very porely made.

  3. This product is a piece of junk.My first knife quit after six months. The replacement I received lasted about nine months and customer service was totally uncooperative making me jump thru hoops as I sought to get another replacement.I gave up on this asI knew as I got nowhere with a rude, inconsiderate person.I am going to purchase another but I will never buy any Cuisinart product.

  4. When it works, it is great. But I returned 2 of them after a short time because of it overheating or stopping totally.

  5. this is a pretty good electric knife, i had trouble finding one but think i like this one

  1. I have ,as a professional cook, done a lot of banquet and buffet duty using the 12" Granton edge version-rosewood handle. Cross rib,Prime Rib,tri tip, turkey, ham, the Forschner was up to the task. A couple years ago..I picked up the non-granton 12" for myself at a yardsale. At home,I rarely roast anything that big...so it didn't get used really until I wanted to slice a potato VERY thin. I was surprised...this second hand knife with it's over-long blade easily made potato chip thin slices and I'd never even properly sharpened it.

Inspired....I gave it a little tuneup on the steel...went to town and got some fresh salmon and wasabi and had a Sashimi binge. I was rather surprised how well it was working and just kept slicing thinner and thinner pieces. Sweet.

The blade is thin..a bit flexy, quite sharp with no drag. As a Sashimi knife...I think the round tip will get reshaped, but in case I need to fillet a salmon or carve a roast-I have plenty of faith. I'll be taking it to work after the holidays to fine edge it on the nice stone there.

For home....10" is plenty long, and if you can do slivers of raw salmon...a roast beef is way easy. Forschner's Fibrox handles don't look as good as the rosewood-but are less apt to get slippery. You can spend more for cosmetic reasons....get a brand with a more artsy looking handle. I'd rather be more fussy about the food and use one of these to get beautiful thin slices...like the pros

  2. What a great knife. Slice paper thin strips of meat...slice through soft veggies that ordinarily crush....and dishwasher safe.

  3. Outstanding knife in every way. I am more than happy with it. Buy it before it is replaced with another issue; or goes up in price.

  1. I was disappointed in the quality of the knife -- thin, flexible blade. And the board is so small that it really is useless to me. There are much better knives at this price point ... including OXO, Victronox and Anolon. Don't let the Wusthof name fool you. Don't let the Emeril name fool you either.

I gave it three stars because the price was right -- $14. Look for it soon at Big Lots.

I returned this item without hesitation.
