5 comments about Vacu Vin Wine Saver Extra Stoppers, Set of 4.
- These stoppers require that you hold the pump more perpendicular above the stopper and then hold the seal more firmly. They aren't as forgiving as the old stoppers for when you hold it at a slight angle. Its frustrating when technology moves backwards, and then they call it progress. This company used to have a better product line with their containers as well. However, this product might still be better than the practically non-existent alternatives. This product deserves three stars, but I'm giving it two stars because so many of the other reviews are skewed way too high.
- I've tried everything else. This is the only way to keep a bottle of wine from going bad. Unless the weather is extremely warm, it will last for several days after opening it. I love this product.
- This is an excellent product. Inexpensive but saves money. I am a one glass of wine per day person. Now I can enjoy the same taste as the day we open the bottle. Highly recommended.
- Vac-UVin wine stoppers allow you to remove the air from opened wine bottles and preserve them longer. These hard to find replacements were better than the originals!
- I have used these wine stoppers for about 3 months. The stoppers are used in conjunction with a pump that removes air from the wine bottle. My wine has stayed fresh for 3 weeks or more using these stoppers. Can't ask for anything more.

5 comments about Vacu Vin 3-Piece Wine Saver Gift Pack, White.
- I have just purchased this as a gift for wine-loving friends. I have owned a Vacu-Vin for years and find it an absolutely essential item in my life. It keeps wine fresh for days--that is, if you should have some left over.
- As someone who realy enjoys a glass of wine, or 2, but NOT the whole bottle at the same time, about 10 years ago I discovered this GENIUS of a little wine keeper system!
I know there are more expensive systems out there, but those are just not in my budget, AND, I cannot imagine how they could work better than the VAC-U-VIN!
I have been proud to give many of these as gifts to friends and family - I have been extremely pleased with the storage of wine (not sparkling) AND AT ROOM TEMPERATURES, with the VAC-U-VIN. I mention this, because there are those of us who truly enjoy wines, but do not have built-in wine-cooler refrigerators, or even much space to spare, often, in our regular refrigerators - So the VAC-U-VIN's ability to keep wines for a week or several weeks, AT even room-temperatures, is a real plus.
Just know, I realize that refrigerating even VAC-U-VIN-sealed bottles would be even better for maintaining the integrity of the flavors -
The VAC-U-VIN and its rubber, self-sealing corks work simply, and so well: Once the cork is in place, the VAC-U-VIN is then placed over the rubber stopper, and, depending on the air volume left in the bottle, you pump by hand as much of the air as you can, out of the bottle.
And, with most of the oxygen removed, this greatly curtails the deterioration of the wine, keeping it very nicely until you want the remainder. COOK with wine? VAC-U-VIN would be great for keeping the remainder on hand for "the next time"!
There is nothing else to buy, no gas cartridges, no other ongoing supplies - Simple, Inexpensive, and WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! What more might one want?!?
I will continue to use my VAC-U-VIN, share them as gifts, and I hope you will enjoy using yours as much as I / we have!

- Been using these for years, Stick the stopper in the bottle, pump a couple times and viola! wine stays fresh, bottle doesn't leak, back in the fridge it goes til you're ready for the next glass - even if its a couple days later.
- We have used this type of product for several years. This is an excellent gift for a wine lover friend.
- I odered it through Amazon...not to mention .....Perfect delivery .
I think it is a must Accessory for Wine peeps!
It really keeps the air out of the bottle and keep the wine FRESH!
If you want to drink remaining wine bottle the next day or even after 3-4 days....With this vaccum ....it keeps the wine fresh. No more excess fermentation.Bottle fits perfect in the wiine cooler.
I bought one wine stopper from Brookstone for $35 dollars ...a fancy one....but it broke in 6 months and was too bulky...and bottle wont even fit in my wine cooler.
This is a great product.

5 comments about Emerson Electric Wine Bottle Opener - Black.
- My husband & I have enjoyed using our Emerson Electric Wine Opener. You should see the look on our guests' faces when we use it. Everyone wants to know how to get one. We have given several as gifts already, and am in the process of ordering more to give as gifts. This opener works well with both real cork and artificial corks.

- Emerson Electric Wine Bottle Opener - Black
This is the best wine bottle opener in the world. I received it as a gift. It works great!
- I had this for an event where we had to open many, many bottles of wine. It's fast and even better, it's fun! Buy this, you won't be sorry.
- I was very skeptical that this really would pull a cork out of a wine bottle without any effort, but it actually does the job, and it's fun!
- I stumbled across the the electric cork screw by chance. It seemed to good to be true....too easy. But the reviewers seemed to like it so I bought one. My hands were injured in an accident so using a regular cork screw was a chore. This thing is fantastic! It's extremely easy to use, makes opening wine a snap, and your guests will get a kick out of it.

5 comments about Orka Wine Pourer and Stopper.
- We like this wine pourer/stopper although it makes the wine bottle a little too tall for our fridge. It sure beats trying to get the cork back in the bottle. I would recommend it to everyone.
- I thought it was outrageous that the picture shows a set of 4 bottle stoppers and i only received one. i think the description should be updated or at least the picture should. i felt utterly deceived when i received my package. not including the amount of time i waited to receive it.
- well great a little too good someone stole on of my pourers and i have to buy more .
- Thought advertising was a little misleading. pictures 4 pourers, comes with 2. other than that product was very good
- the wine stopper is fine. but i understood it's a set of 4. so the picture was misleading, neither the "product detail" didn't care to mention whether it's 1 or 4.

5 comments about WMF Vino Stainless-Steel 4-Way Funnel.
- I have been using the funnel regularly since I bought it as I have many aged bottles that require decanting.
It really does a great job
- This funnel is pretty nice. The holes at the bottom cause the wine to cascade gently down the sides of a decanter. The finish is nice, and it fits well into my decanter. It will not fit into a bottle of wine, for those who like to decant and then re-bottle. My only gripe is that it is made by joining two pieces together--the upper dome-shaped part and the neck. A small pool of wine collects where these 2 pieces are joined. After decanting the wine, one needs to be careful with the funnel or a small amount of wine will spill.
- I don't really have any other insight to this funnel than has been said already...but my Italian Grandfather used something like this over 100 years ago for his home made red wine and I have followed in his footsteps. I remember him pouring wine out of a huge barrel through a spicket and putting it in a hand made glass decanter through a similar funnel. I didn't realize until much later in my life what he was doing...it aerated the wine, trapped some sediment, and got it ready to breathe in the decanter, right before dinner...like I now do with EVERY bottle of red wine I drink. You won't believe the difference in the taste of the wine. Incredibly simple and effective. Great investment if you drink even a few bottles of wine once in a while....but remember, you have to purchase a nice inexpensive glass decanter too!
- Very useful for aerating and filtering red wines. Did a quick taste test with a bottle of red that needed to breathe. Poured some directly onto a glass and filtered the rest. The filtered wine did taste better straight away. Good product and it looks cool too !!
- If you are into wine decanting, this WMF funnel/filter is a must have. My son and daughter-in-law are into wine and wanted to start decanting. I purchased 3 different decanters and this funnel/filter for them for Christmas. I, who knows nothing about wine, noticed the difference. More importantly, my son and his wife noticed a big difference! They used the funnel & filter to pour the wine into the decanter. You could see remnants of sediment in the filter after they poured the wine. The wine had a smoother feel to it as I drank it. It didn't have a slight bite like wines poured straight from the bottle.
So, if you are a wine buff and want to improve on the taste and texture of your wine, then add this WMF funnel/filter to your wine accessories. You will not be disappointed.

5 comments about Vacu Vin Wine Saver Extra Stoppers, Set of 2.
- The Vacu Vin Wine Saver Stoppers were exactly what I expected when I ordered them. They work great with my old Vacu Vin Wine Saver. I would recommend the product to anyone.
- These new model stoppers seem to allow more air to be pumped out of a bottle.
Looking at the reviews of this an other Vacuvin products, you see reports that are deeply contradictory. It's interesting that there is such a divergence of experience with such a simple product. The ideas behind Vacuvin are pretty simple.
First, air is the enemy of an open bottle of wine. Bacteria in the air want to turn alcohol into vinegar. The air itself oxidizes and dulls the taste of all but the most robust wines.
Second, you can remove some of the air with a simple pump and thereby slow down the rate at which wine deteriorates.
Why then, do we have both no-star and five-star reactions to this product?
Maybe the biggest source of disagreement is expectations. Vacuvin slows the deterioration of wine in the bottle, but it doesn't stop it.
Another possible reason for all the disagreement might be a question of temperature. The biochemical reactions that kill your wine are temperature sensitive. They proceed faster when the wine is warm and slow down when it's cool. Putting a pumped-out bottle in the refrigerator or wine cooler will slow down the spoilage processes and make Vacuvin more effective.
A third issue is the way the wine is handled before the Vacuvin plug goes in. If wine has a lot of air dissolved in it by being poured from decanter to bottle, there's no system that will keep it fresh.

- These savers are very efective as vacuum stopers to help preserve opened botles of wine.
- When you get tired of searching the kitchen drawer for one of these gray corks for your wine leftovers, realize that the last one probably DID roll under the fridge or become a chew-toy for Fideaux. So have a packet of these on hand.
- The main goal in keeping wine "leftovers" is to prevent the wine from aging between the time you open the bottle and when you finish the remaining wine. Air destroys wine, so you need to minimize the air contacat. You also have to keep the wine in the fridge during this time, because 55F is a 'normal aging temperature' and since the air is already aging the wine, you want to minimize *any* other degrading that might go on. Any temperature over 55F will simply make things worse.
The vacu-vin attempts to help by sucking the air out of a half-empty bottle of wine. Note that, instead of the few pumps their literature suggests, you need about 15 pumps to get most of the air out. For many wine types the fact that you are in essence lowering the pressure in the bottle pulls the 'liveliness' out of the wine, which ruins it. I have done a series of tests for my website comparing both a red and white after 3 days, being stored under a variety of circumstances. The vacu-vin "works" in the sense that it does remove most of the air. However, it was also found to greatly harm some wines - even when you compare its use against a simple cork. The *ideal* method of saving wine is cheap. Simply put the wine into a smaller glass bottle, cork it, and put it in the fridge. That has the best chance to keep the most common wines for another few days in the best condition. No air at all, no vacuum either. Of course, *no* method will really keep a wine in the same state it started in. You can always cook with the wine on the second day, and move along to your next bottle! Life is too short to drink bad or old wine :)

- I bought one of these wine savers for my husband and I a few years ago, and loved it so much that we bought one for everyone in our families for Christmas!
It's perfect if you just want a glass of wine and not the whole bottle! You can keep a bottle of wine for a couple of weeks or more, and it never tastes skunky as long as you follow the directions.
The only downside: The original saver I bought for myself came with a case for the parts. The ones we ordered for gifts came all loosey-goosey. Can be easy to lose the stoppers.
- This set has saved many a bottle of wine for us. I don't want to be rushed to drink a whole bottle at a time, and this lets us enjoy every bit of it without being gluttonous. Definitely worth it.
- The product is easy to use and does not need a big space to store it.
- Works great. Of coarse the lower the wine level the longer it will take you to pump the air out and can feel like it takes forever when you are drunk, but is fantastic especially if you will take a month to finish off a bottle. There is not a stand that comes with it like shown in the picture.
- This is a great product to keep wine tasting better longer. It's easy to use and works really well. Highly recommended!

5 comments about Wine Enthusiast Private Preserve Wine Preservation Spray.
- I've been drinking and saving partial bottles of wine for years with this stuff. I've played with those wine vacuum pumps in the store, and I can tell you from experience using vacuum bells in engineering labs, that there is no way those little pumps and seals could remove enough atmosphere to make a substantial impact in lowering wine oxidation.
As for the amount of gas in the bottles, I usually purchase Private Preserve by the case, in an unopened box, and I've never had an issue. I can usually get at about 100 uses from a can. I think the instructions on the back are over-simplified; when the bottle is brand new and the pressure is high, you have to cut the amount of spraying time at least in half, if not more. Then gradually increase the amount of time as the pressure decreases. Remember; only the surface area of the exposed wine needs to be covered, which is pretty small, and not the entire remaining empty volume.
- This item contains inert gas which is heavier than oxygen.
It creates a layer on top of the wine which prevents oxidation.
You do not need to fill the bottle with the inert gas to prevent oxidation.
Wine worth saving costs at least $15 a bottle.
Assume it saves a half a bottle each time it is used. That is $7+ per use saved.
If you use good sense and spray only what is necessary you can get many uses out of a bottle.
Worst case, say it has 20 uses in it, that is 50 cents per use. Is there any more that needs to be said?
- Bought this on the advice of an expert. However, only about 2-3 seconds of gas - hardly the 120 uses. Maybe a pattern is emerging?
- Great product. I drink a bottle a week, so must store at room temp for several days. A couple squirts each time, and the can lasts for months and months. Very good product for the money. The wine preservation seems to last over twice as long as the vacu products, which I have used extensively until I tried this.
- I've tried the vacuum pump things and they are about as good at preserving wine as they are at increasing "size." Perhaps it works for a very short time, but it doesn't last.
This stuff lasts. I've left a bottle of red for over a week and it was still great. In fact, with some young wines I find they are better after opening, having one glass, then closing with Private Preserve and enjoying the rest the next day.
I'm not sure of the 120+ uses, but I'm very happy with the value at $10/btl.

5 comments about Vinturi Wine Aerator.
- I purchased this at a wine tasting. I use it for Reds, Whites but most importantly a less expensive wine. Adding the oxygen to a less expensive wine whether red or white makes a HUGE difference in the taste, first impression, finish and aroma....I use it for all my wines and that would be my advise; use it for all wines. It makes a great wine that much better and a lesser wine into a much better wine.
- I received this wine aerator as a gift at a corporate event last holiday season. My first reaction was "yeah, right" but my husband and I decided to try it anyway. We were skeptical, but it really seemed to improve the taste of the wine! We even went so far as to conduct a "blind taste test" to make sure we weren't imagining things, but it really does make a difference. I'm a believer.
- We had friends go on a wine tour in Napa, CA and come back raving about how so many of the wineries use the Vinturi. One of the best purchases we've made in a while.
The best test is when you take a small sip of the red wine when it's first open and then after it's gone through the Vinturi. You'll be pleasantly amazed. If you enjoy red wine, then this would be a great addition to your collection.
- We purchased this for ourselves in December and for some wines that are closed it makes a nice difference. Our local wine store guru says he tries it on young wines that are highly rated but need more time - in some cases, lots more time - in the bottle and it makes them taste as luscious as they are bound to do sometime in the future, but we haven't broken open one of our "keeping wines" yet. Obviously, it's not going to make a $10 Rosemont Cab/Merlot blend taste like a Rubicon, but it does smooth out some of the harsher edges and open up the fruit. We take it with us to parties now because the slurping, sucking sound it makes as you pour through it is fun, AND it helps make everyday wines better!
- Saw this item advertised in a magazine just before the Christmas holidays and decided it would make a nice Christmas gift for my son-in-law and my husband (both avid red wine lovers). They were both suprised by the gift as well as full of praise for how well it performed.
When we had the neighbors in for our holiday party, my husband was eager to demonstrate his new "toy". All the red wine drinkers were quick to admit how much using this device added to the aroma and flavor of the wine and wanted to know where they could purchase one.
