  1. My wife and I received this as a gift to add to our 10" and 12" copper core pans. At first we did not think we would find much of a use for it. However, as we often have both of us and our two teenage boys all in the kitchen at the same time during a meal prep, we have found several uses for it. We sear or sweat some ingredients prior to adding them to a larger recipe.

If you already have parts of an All-Clad collection this will complement nicely. If you do not have any All-Clad this may be a good place to start.

  2. Purchased as a Christmas gift. I removed the skillet from the box which could be opened with no damage to box and examined product and sorta wished I had one also. Made in USA.

  3. The pan is tiny whereby the handle rivots overpower the pan. The pan didnt heat up as quickly as my calphalon stainless 10in pan. I truely wont buy it again, go calphalon. It is cheaper with better quality.

  4. Best little can do pan ever! After purchasing the 7 pc set from Macys I realized that the 12" pan is just too big for everyday use. I remebered thet Warehouse Deals/Amazon also carried All Clad, so I did my search and up came a 8" pan for $25.99 (approx) Easy enough, just click and it was on its way. Highly recomend All Clad to all my friends, as if they didn't already know that they make the best in cookware.

  5. I bought this pan couple of weeks ago. I used it twice. I am really impressed with it. I thought it would be too hard to clean. I WAS WRONG. It's easy to clean especially if you use oil or butter (I never used Al-Clad fry pan without oil so I have no idea how does it without oil). I wash it right after done cooking.
I noticed that it does not heat fast, but food stay hot for long time after cooking (in the pan). When I decided to buy All-Clad frying pan I was thinking of buying non-stick one. Then I changed my mind after reading some reviews about All-clad non-stick surface. I said: Why to pay so much for non-stick when it's easy to scratch like any other non-stick. Great buy. Am glad I bought it.

  1. An terrific pan, which is used almost daily. We have a large set and All-Clad is EXCELLENT.

  2. It's a good size, even heat & easy cleanup. I was concerned about it not being a no-stick pan, but its performance won me over the first time I used it.

  3. I have wanted this pan for a long, long time, and I was finally able to get it. All I can say is that I wish I had bought it before. It's an amazing pan, food cooks evenly, nothing sticks, washes easily --- I'm happy to have it and strongly recommend it. A worthwhile investment!

  4. I bought this pan for a christmas present for my husband. he loves to cook. I find myself using it alot also. It's so nice to cook with. I bought the cover separately but now wonder if I should have. I don't think I'll be using the cover much since it's a frying pan. Just something to think about. But the pan is outstanding!!!!

  5. This is an awesome skillet. No one should be without! It's a fantastic size and the quality can't be beat. I have other all clad pieces and some caphalon also. You really do get what you pay for. Highly recommend this!

  1. 4th degree burns can be suffered when handling this metallic brim stoke pot, which doesn't have cool iron density retraction at the handle. You are better getting a cool wave disperse model which Maytag sells, but if you use a Calco hand glove, this is just as good.

  2. The size of this pan is great for a lot of uses. I am disappointed in the wall thickness though. The wall on this pan is thinner than the 1 qt I bought a couple of years ago.

  3. This is a heavy duty item. It distributes heat evenly and it is very attractive. I have a full set and bought this piece for my daughter. I would highly recommend it although it is a bit pricey. It should last forever if given proper care.

  4. All Clad has two pots at bargain prices to lure cooks in to the pleasures of top quality cookware--the 8" fry pan and the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan. You deserve both of them so don't hesitate. My mother is 89 and a true penny squeezing Depression Era baby. I gave her the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan and to my surprise the last time I visited she had bought the fry pan for her self. She liked the looks (she leaves these pans out on the stove just because she likes the look of quality) and appreciated the even heating and ease of cleaning. If you buy these two pieces you will probably come back for more thus justifying All Clad's marketing strategy. I know I sound like an All Clad shill, but don't hesitate, it's a bargain.

  5. I am very please with the response to my order. The item is as described.

  1. What needs to be said about an All-Clad product other than they are one of the best on the market? This is a nice weighty piece that conducts heat evenly. A great addition to my other pieces. Highly recommend.

  2. We love our All Clad pans. They heat and cook evenly. We use this large saucepan for big batches of rice, boiling pasta, cooking vegetables etc. We like it so much better than our old saucepans that I just ordered the All Clad 1 1/2 qt. saucepan today.

  3. I'm usually cooking for one, so I use this pan mostly with a steamer insert. It's a good, heavy pot with a stay cool handle. Heats very evenly and quickly.

All Clad quality is the best. There is more expensive cookware out there, but All Clad delivers the same high quailty at a lower (but not cheap)price. All Clad is an investment. I don't plan on owning another set of pots.

I love the stainless finish because it is dishwasher safe.

  4. Yes, the stainless steel is good, it performs well, but the pan is awful to use. It has no pouring lip for sauces so they slosh everywhere, and what's with that ghastly handle? I am very strong, yet I find the pan very heavy to carry when full. The handle is uncomfortable and very long (to keep it less hot), which makes it awkward on the stove and to hold. I do use a potholder. I have been able to get other brands which have far better handles (Fissler, Spring) and perform as well or better. I find I use these before my All-Clad. All-Clad has the market in the US, but there are better pans out there. Shop around.

  5. This has been my favorite pan for 15 years, and my wife and I both cook a lot. About 10 years ago we got tired of handwashing things, so we've been putting these in the dishwasher since then.

It distributes heat well, and the handle stays cool. I've been using All-Clad so long that when I recently used another brand whose handle got hot I practically dropped it in shock. A warm handle? Is that possible?

I can tell that this pan is not new anymore. It has very faint spots about the size of a pencil-eraser on the inside surface.

Based on my experience, this pot will last for at least 50 years and maybe 100.

There may be other cookware this good, but I don't see how there could be any that's better.

  1. I make a lot of sauces. The rounded sides make it easy to stir the sauce and the cladded sides provide even heat distribution - don't know how I got along without it. Also great for small quantities of vegetables. I recommend it unqualifedly - 5 stars all the way

  2. I like the size of this pan but the rounded bottom makes it tippy on my gas range. I prefer the square bottomed sauce pans.

  3. I've used AllClad pots and pans for more than thirty years. The originals I bought all those years ago are, if anything, handsomer than they were when new, because of all the polishing they've had. They function just as they always have, too. I've had to replace some of them because a couple of years ago, I began cooking by induction, and my nice old faithfuls have aluminum exteriors and won't conduct. This little saucier is the junior of a larger one I own, and is perfectly suited to making classic sauces, as well as the morning oatmeal, if you start your day that way. I'm sure there's nothing I can say about AllClad you don't already know. We all know there are cheaper pots, but there are cheaper everything elses, too, which is no reason not to go first class if you can.

  4. I love all-clad products. This is a great pan. But Amazon's free shipping policy needs review. This item sat in a UPS warehouse 100 miles from my home for about 2 weeks and then it arrived after 3 weeks of the order. I could have walked the 100 miles and back and had the pan before it was shipped. Very poor service, hopefully this will be reviewed and changed.

  5. I bought just one small All Clad pot to see if I'd like it since they're a pretty big investment. I had a hard time believeing that food wouldn't stick to the surface since it isn't nonstick. I absolutely love the pot and it's soooo easy to clean up, almost easier than my nonstick utensils, I haven't used it for frying or anything though. It just feels really good to have one really great pot and I'm going to buy more when I can. I love the pot and would highly recommend it.

  1. I have had this pan for a bit over 6 months and saw nothing outstanding in it compared to the other All-Clad products that I have (I love all of them). But then my teenaged children where released to summer vacation. I came home from work to find them watching a movie and as I passed the kitchen I noticed a spot of warmth. Thinking this was odd I asked if anyone was cooking something. My oldest jumped off the couch with the agility that only a panicked teenager could have and ran into the kitchen. I followed close behind to find my 2 quart sauce pan on the 12,000 BTU burner, on high no less... With nothing in it.

It turns out that an hour before my son had put on a quart of water to boil and forgot about it. The pan was HOT. There was carbon marks all on the inside of the pan, none on the out side though. I just turned off the burner and told everyone not to touch it for an hour.

I suspected that the pan was ruined, but it was not. No delamination, no deforming, just some discoloration and carbon marks. A small amount of Bar Keepers FriendĀ® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a lot of elbow grease and the pan looked like it just came out of the box.

Though I would not make this your first All-Clad purchase, I would highly recommend this saucepan. It has the quality, finish and control you would expect from an All-Clad product. It may seem a bit narrow and tall at first but, as other reviewers have mentioned, that allows it to minimize reduction and creates a moist steam filled area in the upper portion of the saucepan.

For a more versatile pan I would recommend the All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucier Pan, but I would not be with out this sauce pan in my collection.

  2. Like all other All-Clad, superb pan and the 'refurb' model offers a great savings - fast, free shipping from Amazon!

  3. As usual, this pan is a delight to use, easy to clean, and perfect size for my shrinking family. Pay the extra money and buy All-Clad!

  4. I would buy Cuisinart or Sitram for pots larger than the 1 1/2 or 2 qt. saucepans (aluminum or copper disc base rather than full aluminum stainless steel sandwich), but for sauces the small All Clads are great--even heat, easy clean up, and quality USA build.

  5. Found a rivet in my food that I found out came from the lid handle. The company does replace the lid but only after you mail it in and wait for 6-8 weeks. Too long for me to wait, since I use this pot to cook rice in and don't have any other replacement in the meantime. Won't buy All-clad again.

  1. This pan is not only pretty, but it cooks extremely evenly. Do not use metal utensils while cooking with these pans - I wasn't thinking and did scratch mine a bit. You'll love this pan!

  2. This pan and an All-Clad saucepan were big splurges for me. I have not cooked in another brand of stainless cookware and did look at several other brands. That said, I have not questioned my buying decision once.

The keys for me have been "hot pan, cold oil (fat)", not being too chintzy with the fat, and letting the food get a good amount of caramelization before touching it. Not that that's rocket science, it's just such a treat to find cooking in stainless so easy. About the amount of fat, 1 Tbsp butter was sufficient for an omelet which didn't stick; but otherwise, I've actually been surprised at how little fat I could use--it just isn't like a getting by with little to no fat in a nonstick pan.

This pan is the perfect size for my family of two. It's easy to handle and fits on my stove burners well, so even if I was fixing more food I'd have a hard time switching from this size pan. It's an acceptable size for smaller meals like a two-egg omelet.

I wash the pan in the dishwasher and use Barkeepers Friend to get rid of any discoloration.

  3. Remember that Queen song, "I'm in love with my car?" Well, I love my All-Clad pans. Food browns perfectly, deglazes easily and just makes cooking a dream. They clean up easily with a soak and a soft brush. If you are registering for a wedding or another occasion, definitely pop this one on your list.

  4. This Pan Is Not for the inexperianced cook. Go for the coate
    d cookware

  5. I bought this pan and love it. It has the perfect slope to flip food. As far as the handle goes...well, that's another story. All-Clad quality is top notch but they fall short on the handle design. The handle does stay unbelievably cool, but it's dam uncomfortable. I compensated for it being so narrow by purchasing a suede handle cover. I still rate it a five though.

  1. I really enjoy this Stock pot , it cleans nicely and cooks my soups with ease .

Good quality Stainless Steel body and strong Handles.

It is manufactured to be from the better class of kitchenware ,

    I highly recommend this pot.

  2. The product is of decent build quality, but no greater than Calphalon. I have a large collection of Calphalon product (aluminum and stainless). I perfer their product because ergonomically it just feels better and they stand behind their warranty. I had a problem with the first Allclad piece I bought and Allclad wouldn't stand behind their warranty. They suggested I talk to the retailer about taking it back. With Calphalon I send the piece in and they send me a new one. I'm not going to spend a premium on cookware if the company won't stand behind it. I don't care what country the product is made in, I want a quality product that you are willing to stand behind.

  3. This is my first All-Clad product, the stuff's not cheap! This is a great pot for the money. It is a large, sturdy pot and can get heavy, even half full it's a load. The steamer basket is very nice and it cleans up very easy. If you're bothering to read this, just buy it.

  4. It's a very nice pot, and well worth the price IF you don't have an induction cooktop. Although the description clearly states it's magnetic stainless, it's not. All of my cookware is All-Clad, and I love them, but they need to be a little more clear (or honest?) about this one.. it's not made by All-Clad, it's made in China, and it's not usable on an induction cooktop, unlike all their other stainless cookware.

  5. Despite what the description says, this cookware will not work with an induction cooktop. I was quite excited when the package arrived; the item appeared to be well built and was quite heavy. But when I placed a magnet to the bottom of the pot, it did not stick. It appears that Amazon has an incorrect discription of the item. All-clad is famous for their induction cookware, and one doesn't need a top of the line pot to boil water - but it does need to hold a magnet if it's going to work with an induction cooktop. I didn't know how many starts to rate this item. For a gas or conventional electric cooktop, I would give it at least four stars, but for induction, it is really zero stars.

5 comments about All-Clad Stainless 12-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan.

  1. I have owned this pan for a few years and it has gradually lost its non-stick coating. It is now totally useless and I am off to replace it with the Cuisinart pan that America's Test Kitchen preferred over the other non-sticks out there. I love all of my other All Clad products, but from now on I am not spending more than $50 on a non-stick pan.

  2. I would agree with Resse, I've noticed this degradtion on my pan as well. It's been retired for 'regular' use now. Also, I find the handle very uncomfortable to use when the pan is holding anything that's heavy. Overall one of te best I've owned, but not perfect.

  3. On Sundays, I cook my lunches and dinners for the entire week. This is my new Sunday fish and seafood pan! Soon, it will become my new breakfast pan when I have to feed the six people staying with me for my family reunion.

The nonstick finish is great. I haven't had any problems with it. I like the fact that I can get the All-Clad even heat technology with a non-stick surface. Because of the non-stick surface, the pan is not dishwasher safe. However, it's so easy to clean that you don't even think about it.

    Caring for nonstick

To avoid damaging the coating, you should always heat the pan with oil. The oil will smoke before the pan gets too hot to do any damage. Do not use nonstick spay with nonstick cookware. The droplets are so fine that they can form a brown film on the finish over time.

When a plan losses its nonstick properties, All-Clad suggests cleaning with a paste of baking soda and water. If the baking soda doesn't turn brown, switch to Bar Keeper's Friend and water. Always scrub with something made for nonstick cookeware.

Enjoy! This pan is big enough to feed a crowd!

  4. I received my All-Clad set when I got married in 2001. In general I have been very happy with this pan. It cooks great and has been through a lot of use over the past six years.

On the down side the pan is a bit heavy and the handle can get hot toward the base. As a result whenever I am cooking a 1.5lb of ground beef I need to use a pot holder to grab near the bottom of the handle so I can drain it.

The other draw back that I have recently noticed is the non-stick seal is not what it once was. I am very careful with the cleaning, high-heat, and utensils. However, food has been sticking on the pan for the past year and is getting worse.

Since All-Clad is all about durability I expect better.

  5. People! If you're going to buy expensive non-stick pans learn the basics on how to maintain them! Read the user directions!! You should not use high heat on ANY non-stick! Using high heat voids the All-Clad warranty! High heat also eventually compromises non-stick surfaces. You should not use aerosol spray oils in non-stick as it ruins the non-stick coating. Use only utensils made to use with non-stick pots and pans. Never put very cold food in a hot pot or pan. You should not clean non-stick in dishwashers - hand wash with Bon Ami and a plastic mesh scrubber. Bon Ami (or similar) also works best on All-Clad stainless. Hard-anodized pots and pans are not dishwasher safe, no matter what the brand. I can boil water in my All-Clad pots on Medium! It IS possible to brown foods in non-stick pans. I have an All-Clad non-stick grill pan (has ridges in the bottom) and I can brown sliced potatoes in it AND bacon doesn't curl when fried in it! If you want to cook as you want and abuse the pans, buy the cheap stuff and quit complaining!! I work for one of the three major top brands (not All-Clad!), so you can take all this info for what you think it's worth. All-Clad, Anolon and Calphalon cookware are investment-type purchases. Treat them as such!

  1. I have it for 6 months now, used it everyday and am very happy with it. Heating is even and no surpirses, clean up is a breeze, cheese, milk, soy source, BBQ sauce, dumpling, nothing sticks. Ringse it under warm water and wipe it clean with a napkin, it's that simple. You will want to get a lid that matches the pan, togher they do magic to frozen fish fillet, steak, noodle, or fry rice. Top line product indeed.

  2. I love this pan. The weight is perfect, it feels good in my hand and my eggs turn out beautiful everytime. My father accidently left it on the burner after making eggs and even after getting too hot (I caught it after a minute or two) the pan was still in great shape. I never used my old 8" except for eggs, but find myself constantly reaching for this one. I only handwash and have had to prohibit others in my family from touching due to fear they will put in dishwasher. Actually it was probably overkill since none of them even know how to turn the stove on!

  3. Ordered a non stick pan two times, and both times I got a stainless steel.
Would like to give this product a positive review but just ain't possible !!!

  4. We are proud owners of multiple All-Clad cookware. We buy All-Clad for the excellent quality and for use with our induction cooktop which requires "magnetic" bottom pans. We have numerous other "quality" cookware but All-Clad beats them all hands down. You can see the difference in heat distribution when cooking, no hot spots, just even cooking. Yes, All-Clad is more expensive, but it's quality made in the US that will last a lifetime and backed up with a lifetime guarantee. It couldn't be better.

  5. It's no secret that I love All-Clad. The 8-inch is perfect when cooking for one or two. The pan has great release. I always hand wash and about once a month, I polish the stainless steel with Bar Keeper's friend to keep it looking like new.

I also have the nonstick 10 inch and I am trying to send it back to All-Clad for warranty evaluation. I did not know that you shouldn't use nonstick spay with nonstick cookware and that the heat should be relatively low. I never use more than medium heat with any of my All-Clad and yet my pan lost its nonstick properties.

When a plan losses its nonstick properties, All-Clad suggests cleaning with a paste of baking soda and water. If the baking soda doesn't turn brown, switch to Bar Keeper's Friend and water. Always scrub with something made for nonstick cookeware. None of this helped my pan, so I will send it in to All-Clad.
