- 4th degree burns can be suffered when handling this metallic brim stoke pot, which doesn't have cool iron density retraction at the handle. You are better getting a cool wave disperse model which Maytag sells, but if you use a Calco hand glove, this is just as good.
- The size of this pan is great for a lot of uses. I am disappointed in the wall thickness though. The wall on this pan is thinner than the 1 qt I bought a couple of years ago.
- This is a heavy duty item. It distributes heat evenly and it is very attractive. I have a full set and bought this piece for my daughter. I would highly recommend it although it is a bit pricey. It should last forever if given proper care.
- All Clad has two pots at bargain prices to lure cooks in to the pleasures of top quality cookware--the 8" fry pan and the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan. You deserve both of them so don't hesitate. My mother is 89 and a true penny squeezing Depression Era baby. I gave her the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan and to my surprise the last time I visited she had bought the fry pan for her self. She liked the looks (she leaves these pans out on the stove just because she likes the look of quality) and appreciated the even heating and ease of cleaning. If you buy these two pieces you will probably come back for more thus justifying All Clad's marketing strategy. I know I sound like an All Clad shill, but don't hesitate, it's a bargain.
- I am very please with the response to my order. The item is as described.

- What needs to be said about an All-Clad product other than they are one of the best on the market? This is a nice weighty piece that conducts heat evenly. A great addition to my other pieces. Highly recommend.
- We love our All Clad pans. They heat and cook evenly. We use this large saucepan for big batches of rice, boiling pasta, cooking vegetables etc. We like it so much better than our old saucepans that I just ordered the All Clad 1 1/2 qt. saucepan today.
- I'm usually cooking for one, so I use this pan mostly with a steamer insert. It's a good, heavy pot with a stay cool handle. Heats very evenly and quickly.
All Clad quality is the best. There is more expensive cookware out there, but All Clad delivers the same high quailty at a lower (but not cheap)price. All Clad is an investment. I don't plan on owning another set of pots.
I love the stainless finish because it is dishwasher safe.
- Yes, the stainless steel is good, it performs well, but the pan is awful to use. It has no pouring lip for sauces so they slosh everywhere, and what's with that ghastly handle? I am very strong, yet I find the pan very heavy to carry when full. The handle is uncomfortable and very long (to keep it less hot), which makes it awkward on the stove and to hold. I do use a potholder. I have been able to get other brands which have far better handles (Fissler, Spring) and perform as well or better. I find I use these before my All-Clad. All-Clad has the market in the US, but there are better pans out there. Shop around.
- This has been my favorite pan for 15 years, and my wife and I both cook a lot. About 10 years ago we got tired of handwashing things, so we've been putting these in the dishwasher since then.
It distributes heat well, and the handle stays cool. I've been using All-Clad so long that when I recently used another brand whose handle got hot I practically dropped it in shock. A warm handle? Is that possible?
I can tell that this pan is not new anymore. It has very faint spots about the size of a pencil-eraser on the inside surface.
Based on my experience, this pot will last for at least 50 years and maybe 100.
There may be other cookware this good, but I don't see how there could be any that's better.

- I make a lot of sauces. The rounded sides make it easy to stir the sauce and the cladded sides provide even heat distribution - don't know how I got along without it. Also great for small quantities of vegetables. I recommend it unqualifedly - 5 stars all the way
- I like the size of this pan but the rounded bottom makes it tippy on my gas range. I prefer the square bottomed sauce pans.
- I've used AllClad pots and pans for more than thirty years. The originals I bought all those years ago are, if anything, handsomer than they were when new, because of all the polishing they've had. They function just as they always have, too. I've had to replace some of them because a couple of years ago, I began cooking by induction, and my nice old faithfuls have aluminum exteriors and won't conduct. This little saucier is the junior of a larger one I own, and is perfectly suited to making classic sauces, as well as the morning oatmeal, if you start your day that way. I'm sure there's nothing I can say about AllClad you don't already know. We all know there are cheaper pots, but there are cheaper everything elses, too, which is no reason not to go first class if you can.
- I love all-clad products. This is a great pan. But Amazon's free shipping policy needs review. This item sat in a UPS warehouse 100 miles from my home for about 2 weeks and then it arrived after 3 weeks of the order. I could have walked the 100 miles and back and had the pan before it was shipped. Very poor service, hopefully this will be reviewed and changed.
- I bought just one small All Clad pot to see if I'd like it since they're a pretty big investment. I had a hard time believeing that food wouldn't stick to the surface since it isn't nonstick. I absolutely love the pot and it's soooo easy to clean up, almost easier than my nonstick utensils, I haven't used it for frying or anything though. It just feels really good to have one really great pot and I'm going to buy more when I can. I love the pot and would highly recommend it.

- I have had this pan for a bit over 6 months and saw nothing outstanding in it compared to the other All-Clad products that I have (I love all of them). But then my teenaged children where released to summer vacation. I came home from work to find them watching a movie and as I passed the kitchen I noticed a spot of warmth. Thinking this was odd I asked if anyone was cooking something. My oldest jumped off the couch with the agility that only a panicked teenager could have and ran into the kitchen. I followed close behind to find my 2 quart sauce pan on the 12,000 BTU burner, on high no less... With nothing in it.
It turns out that an hour before my son had put on a quart of water to boil and forgot about it. The pan was HOT. There was carbon marks all on the inside of the pan, none on the out side though. I just turned off the burner and told everyone not to touch it for an hour.
I suspected that the pan was ruined, but it was not. No delamination, no deforming, just some discoloration and carbon marks. A small amount of Bar Keepers FriendĀ® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a lot of elbow grease and the pan looked like it just came out of the box.
Though I would not make this your first All-Clad purchase, I would highly recommend this saucepan. It has the quality, finish and control you would expect from an All-Clad product. It may seem a bit narrow and tall at first but, as other reviewers have mentioned, that allows it to minimize reduction and creates a moist steam filled area in the upper portion of the saucepan.
For a more versatile pan I would recommend the All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucier Pan, but I would not be with out this sauce pan in my collection.
- Like all other All-Clad, superb pan and the 'refurb' model offers a great savings - fast, free shipping from Amazon!
- As usual, this pan is a delight to use, easy to clean, and perfect size for my shrinking family. Pay the extra money and buy All-Clad!
- I would buy Cuisinart or Sitram for pots larger than the 1 1/2 or 2 qt. saucepans (aluminum or copper disc base rather than full aluminum stainless steel sandwich), but for sauces the small All Clads are great--even heat, easy clean up, and quality USA build.
- Found a rivet in my food that I found out came from the lid handle. The company does replace the lid but only after you mail it in and wait for 6-8 weeks. Too long for me to wait, since I use this pot to cook rice in and don't have any other replacement in the meantime. Won't buy All-clad again.

- The All-Clad 2 quart saucier is a must for every kitchen. It allows for the making of sauces and gravy a snap. There are no corners that a whisk cannot get to. It is a joy to use.
- This is a wonderful saucier. The rounded sides are perfect. Just a great pot.
- The 2 Quart Saucier Pan has been an incredibly wonderful addition to my set. I absolutely love its versatility and its sleek looks.
- This 2 quart saucier is one of my favorite All Clad pans. This is actually the first All Clad pan I bought and I was so happy with it that I now have almost the whole line of All Clad cookware. I love this size for making rice pilaf; it is wider and has lower sides than a saucepan, which I prefer for simmering rice. It is also a great size for one or two boil in the bag veggies or simmering soup for one or two. It is made very well, is easy to clean, heats evenly and is designed to last. All Clad cookware is one of the most expensive lines around and it is worth every penny, it really is lifetime cookware (with a lifetime warranty to prove it). This saucier is a definite must have, it is a very versatile size and is a nice pan to start with. Very, very highly recommended! A+++!
Also, if you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive.
- The curved sides of this pan make it the perfect saucier, and when you're constantly whisking a sauce (such as a bechamel) you couldn't ask for anything better. The All-Clad reputation says it all - top of the line.

- This saucepan is great when you're making a big batch of something, but beware that it's quite heavy and can be unwieldy when it's full of food. I really enjoy cooking with it, but when I want to pour things out I wish I had paid the slightly higher price for the one with the loop across from the handle so that I'd have more leverage.
- This 4 quart saucepan is really a must! Perfect for a pound of pasta, boiling veggies, a small batch of sauce, the list is endless. It is also great if you don't feel like pulling out a stock pot or if you are trying to save space on your stove. I love All Clad in general but this one is one of the best. The handle is perfect, the lid is great, it is just an all around great pan and super easy to clean. All Clad quality can't be beat. Once you try one piece you will be hooked too (that is if you are not already :). All Clad offers a lifetime warranty and each piece is superb quality and very well made. There is nothing like top quality stainless steel.
Cleaning Tip: If you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive. Highly recommended! A+++!
- It's good enough for Mom's Christmas Custard. Need I say more? A little expensive, but it cooks Mom's custard in style with the double boiler insert (purchased separately)
- This is a must have pot for any cooking enthusiast that is planning on owning All-Clad's stainless line. The size is versatile, large enough to boil pasta, small enough to make sauces or puddings. I just purchased mine and love it. It cooks evenly and washes up nicely and it's beautiful to look at. I don't think this size comes in any of the sets. You must buy it separately. This comes with a lid already and has a nice grip handle that is easy to hold with one hand, while you are stirring or cooking in the pot. I prefer this one to the 4-quart pot with the two handles as this one is easier to manage at times, when stirring, etc. or when you need your other hand, as I find sometimes in a busy kitchen. If you're thinking of buying a few items of All-Clad, (since they are pricey), this is a must.

- All clad is the best cookware hands down! Most of my pieces are all clad. It's far superior in lasting quality and heat conducting ability. It might be too heavy for the very young, very old or weak to lift. I love this pan! It's a great size for many things! I highly recommend!
- I bought this pan with the double boiler insert and find it a wonderful utensil for cooking. I like to keep cooked rice in the refrigerator for making stir fried rice. This pan with it's tight fitting lid allows me to make 4-5 cups at once. Cold rice works best in stir fry, so it's nice to be able to make the rice ahead on the weekend and have it chilled and on hand during the week. I plan to use the double boiler to make custard and for once not overflow on the burner. Be aware however, that All Clad has four different finishes and the finish on this pan is shiny.
- I have a set of All Clad pots and I tend to use the 1, 2 & 4 qt pots more often than the 3. I suppose that's because of the choices I have. Needless to say, the 3 works best as the bottom of the double boiler or the steamer insert. (The one that fits the 3 or the 4 qt pots.) And that's what I use mine for.
3 qts doesn't hold quite enough water for cooking pasta for 3. It's a little too big for 2 cups of rice, it's too big for a pt of soup. (That's 3 servings) Yet sometimes the 4qt pot is too big and then I reach into the back of the cabinate and pull this pot out. So my recomendation is if you want to use the ALL CLAD double boiler (A good double boiler insert) or Steamer insert Get this pot. Otherwise fill in the other parts of your collection first. Of course if you are feeding 5, instead of 3 you may find yourself wanting this pot vs the 2qt than I do. Positives: The pot is really well made. It's hard to burn stuff in it with that thick core, and Stainless steel goes right into my dishwasher. But I don't care if it has some minor scratches as it won't affect its cooking ablity and I don't have time to hand wash anything that fits in the dishwasher. PS What loop? The pan title says "with loop" but there is no loop in the photo. I had thought that the loop option only came with the 4qt pot.
- Heavy cast or rolled aluminum is the optimum material for pots and pans. Based on this fact, Magnalite cast aluminum gourmet cookware was the best you could get from about the 1950's through the '70's. However, there are some problems with aluminum as a cooking surface. Some foods react with it and cause discoloration; it's hard to clean, a fact that became glaringly obvious with the advent of non-stick surfaces. And there have been reported health issues related to cooking food in contact with aluminum (experts currently assess the risks as insignificant).
All-Clad is the heir apparent to the position of "creme de la creme" among cookware. The inner layer of metal is aluminum to evenly conduct heat throughout the pan. The cooking surface is stainless steel, the ideal surface because it is non-reactive, easy cleaning, and more durable than nonstick compounds. All Clad offers a variety of exterior finishes to suit your taste. Finally, this line is WELL BUILT. It will outlast anything else in the kitchen. This may be the most expensive cookware but it's also the best. For a person who doesn't have the physical strength to handle very heavy cookware, this may not be a good choice. For anyone else who is willing to pay for it, this is what you want to cook with.
- Whether you are simmering a delicate soup, making jam, reheating yesterday's dinner, or you have put beans on the stove, at a boil, and forgotten them - utterly, with a trip to the library and an assortment or errands done, returning hours later to a smoke-filled house and unrecognizable ashen material on your All-Clad Saucepan - this wonderful pot will handle the task. Conscientious cooks will love its weight, even heating, and versatility. Distractable cooks will especially appreciate the fact that it cleans up without a hitch. In addition there is a sensible 'loop' in the handle for hanging from a rack, and another in the lid's handle, so that you can slip the lid handle down the pot's handle, and hang the set neatly from a pot rack. I've had mine for years. The weight is just right, it is good-looking, made in the USA, and a double-boiler insert is available for this size, which is also a good item, and usable as a separate saucepan if need be. Great product, and worth the money, especially if you tend to occasionally depend on your smoke alarm to remind you that something's on the stove.

- I picked up this pan at a local foodie shop. I was pleased to see that All-Clad has improved the model this year. It now includes a pour spout on either side of the rim. The other reviewers are right on the money with the quality and versatility of this pan. I like this pan so much I am struggling to keep my self from buying a second one rather than diversifying my set.
- This particular pan seems to be our first choice for daily cooking. The size and style fit just about any cooking job. What's remarkable is that the ALL-CLAD handles stay cool, even during high heat.
We've decided to cook all our foods in stainless once we realized that our black anodized aluminum pans were causing off flavors. We have one Teflon pan which we use sparingly but not necessarily for eggs.
- AllClad comes at a price, but you cannot beat the quality. For anyone who likes to create sauces and reductions, this is THE pan to own.
- All Clad's quality speaks for itself. This saucier provides the same great heating AC is known for. I tend to reach for this during the holidays when I have to boil a lot of vegetables. I use it interchangably with the sauce pan because rarely do I make enough of a sauce to warrant this pot.
Stainless finish means it's dishwasher safe. Stay-cool handle is wonderful.
- I reach for this one every day. It's the perfect size for 4-6 servings and it cleans up beautifully. The heft is perfect, and it's great for tossers who really like to make their food jump.
