  1. After learning about the dangers of some plastics used in food storage, I sought an alternative and found this Tramontina set. I was pleased with the quality: heavy weight, smooth edges, fine finish, and snug lids. I only wish there were sizes between the small "cups" and the three bowls. The flat squares are great for marinating, the bowls terrific for salads, etc, and the little cups are perfect for "mise en place" - advance prepping of small amounts of ingredients for cooking. And they look good!

  1. The shapes and sizes are fine and the rubber on the bottom is nice. I have only handwashed these and they are easy to handle because they are so lightweight. On the other hand the lightness makes them feel cheap and flimsy, If I had paid regular price for these I would be very upset but I bought them on sale and it was easier to keep them. The color is a dark muddy red, not that attractive, it looks nicer on my computer monitor. What bothers me the most is the sharpness of the top edge, especially the spout. The edge is actually sharper than my stainless dinner knives, you couldn't cut yourself it just feels bad when washing or drying the bowls. Since I paid less than half price using the sale price and buy 4 get 1 free I can't complain. The regular price is outrageous!

  2. Good product, but unfortunately I have seen it in stores for much less money, first time I overpaid on Amazon, very disappointing.

  3. They say dishwasher-safe, however, they melt in the lower rack of the dishwasher (the only place they fit). They were ok until dishwashing.

  4. I like these bowls, but have a couple of 'negatives'...the positives are that they have rubber grips on the bottom to help them stay put, and the capacities are clearly marked on the bottoms. In addition, they have pouring spouts. Now the negatives: I think that for the Clearance Price, they're a bit thin. It would have been helpful for Amazon to put the construction (i.e., plastic) in the product description, and when I went to the Kitchenaid site, they didn't have it there either! The other negative is that I expected them to match my Kitchenaid Empire Red stand mixer, but they are a shade darker. All in all, I'm pleased, but not overwhelmingly so.

  1. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this item. All 3 bowls are the same size and come with plastic lids. This in not what I expected. The picture clearly shows 3 different size bowls that are nesting without lids. I got 3 identical sized small bowls that WILL NOT fit into each other(nest). I called customer service to inform them that the picture does not match the item; they didn't understand! I returned for REFUND!

  2. These a practical, durable and cute. I have only just begun to use them, but they are what they claim to be - a relatively firm and thick silicone bowl set with lids that go on slightly awkwardly, but do infact do the trick. Practical and useful - as a big-time cook, I would recommend these!

  3. The product description states these are "1 QT. Classic Mixing bowls". I just got the shipment yesterday, and these bowls are 2 cups capacity (which is half of 1 quart, last time I checked). They appear good for prep and small mixtures, but certainly not I would consider classic mixing bowl, due to their small capacity.

The product description also says "they are stackable!" -- this is not quite as expected, as they do not nestle together very efficiently; about 1/3 of the bowl sticks out, so they are not nearly as efficient, as the usual plastic containers.

I have not used them much so no other comment. I assume (and hope!) that they quality and durability are good.

  4. i bought these for my son-in-law and he is really enjoying them
he cooks every day so they are used often

  5. Silicone is amazing for its durability, light weight, ability to withstand heat, and often (including these bowls) flexibility. I wanted to invent these several years ago, then found they were available to dentists for mixing cups. Of course, those were an ugly color and even though my dentist offered to order them for me, I declined. The absolute BEST thing about silicone is that nothing sticks to it, making cleanup super simple. These cups are perfect for cereal, berries, yogurt, ANYTHING, including food prep. Oh, and unbreakable and almost noiseless when it drops. Do you have little ones? I use these all day, every day. A quick rinse and it's ready for the next use. The lids that are included do a great job for that half finished food item: cover and into the fridge. They seems tight enough to go in a lunch box, but I haven't tested that yet. You can pinch the sides together for pouring, almost like a funnel. Enjoy.

  1. This is an excellent purchase. It's well balanced, strong, stacks easily in my cupboard. Goes in microwave or oven. Perfect for a small mixing job, or even to eat a big salad out of in front of the TV!

  2. My mother requested more of these bowls, so I bought them at her request. She likes them for leftovers because they are microwave safe and stack well with saucers as lids in the refrigerator. She likes the rimmed bowl because it is easier to grip.

  3. I use this bowl to serve instant noodles, or use it for soup with rice. It is the perfect size for this use.

  1. These stainless bowls are thick, have a nice finish, and are extremely well made. I bought my wife a full set, I liked them so much I purchased another two for my dogs.

The entire "it doesn't hold 8 quarts" is insignificant to me. I choose a bowl from my cabinet based on its visual size, not what's stamped on the bottom. It's not like they are measuring spoons.

  2. Buyer beware. I bought this bowl wanting a very large, 8 qt. bowl. This bowl only holds 6 Qts, right to the brim. The weight and shape of the bowl are good for mixing. I will return this item to Amazon.

  3. The bowl is stamped 8 quart on the bottom but holds only 6 quarts of water!(?) I needed a bowl that holds 8 Quarts and I am sure that if the bowl says 8 Quart it should hold 8 Quarts. Something about weights and measures no? I am very disappointed and supprised this product is being offered at all. Will the 12 quart bowl hold 10 quarts?

  4. This a great bowl. Nice and heavy, well made. And deep too. My mother had a nice big stainless steel bowl that I used all the while growing up. She still has it, even with the little dent. Now I have a nicer one. And I am sure it will still be around when my daughters have their own daughters. That's how nice of quality it is. I just wish Amazon sold the 12 quart size so I could get Free Shipping on that one too. I will definately buy this brand again.

  5. Good weight and size. Whipped up whip cream in short time (with cold bowl and beaters). Water spots upon washing, so if you are picky about those things, towel dry well from day 1.

  1. I loved the dishes and all the accessories so much from the Splash Collection, that I just added the mixing bowls. Again, I was not disappointed and the compliments from my guests keep coming in.

  2. Lightning fast delivery of these beautiful bowls. My first order arrived with one of the bowls broken. Amazon's customer service was fantastic. I received the new bowl set within days, in perfect condition. I wish all businesses were as attuned to the customer.

  3. The bowls are unique and different looking. They serve their purpose and are well made.

  4. I bought these originally to use as serving bowls for dinner parties. The outside design and rough surface isn't as stunning as it looks in the picture, and the interior has a very smooth and pretty glazed pattern. Nevertheless, it's a nice bowl to look at. Here's the fun part: I end up using them as everyday mixing bowls. They stand up just fine to the electric mixer, and they don't react or flavor things like aluminum bowls. Cleanup is easy thanks to the slick glazed interior, and you don't have to be gentle with them at all. Nesting them is a bit tricky due to the weight of each bowl and the very narrow clearance, but they will store stacked just fine. Not a bad value for the price.

  5. Several commenters have expressed that you have to go easy on Sango because of chipping. Well, I have owned my 8-piece setting and 5-piece completer set for 4 years and none of them are chipped! As a matter of fact, they were stored away in boxes for 2 years when I temporarily relocated and was not using them. Perhaps the chipping is due to washing them in the dishwasher rather than by hand. I used to always wash my dishes by hand and not until recently I began putting them in the dishwasher; still no chipping! I am so happy with Sango, and the compliments from friends, that I am purchasing the 3-piece bowl set. Sango really is a fine show and a great buy!

5 comments about KitchenAid KB3SS 3-Quart Stainless Steel Bowl for Pivot Head Stand Mixers.

  1. This is the best mixing bowl for my mixer, imaginable. It's great for icing and small recipes. I never liked it when I had to use my large bowl for small recipes.

I liked this bowl so much I even bought one for my sister for her birthday!

  2. EXCELLENT,PERFECT,size for small recipes such as icings. This size bowl fits the Kitchen Aid Artisan Max Watts 325 Mixer.

  3. I was very pleased with the KitchenAid KB3SS 3 quart bowl. I like the fact that it fits in my larger bowl so is easy to store and appreciate so much being able to have 2 bowls for my mixer.

  4. Some stand mixers come with 2 different bowls, and I have always considered this a very smart idea. That was the only think I thought that KA was missing to be the best mixer.
Well I bought the 3quart bowl and I am very glad. There are times when you really need an extra bowl to mix separate ingredients and this thing is what you need. I agree that then handle is missing, but considering the small size, this is not a must, and the good news is that due to the missing handle you can keep it inside the big bowl saving space. I have never had problems with the ingredients flying across my kithcen, just keep the mixer at slow speed when mixing dry ingredients. In fact, this bowl is a great addition to your favorite mixer. Delivery by Amazon, was fantastic as always, and the price, the best!

  5. this bowl is so convenient for me. i thank you for being such a good company to deal with and for your great prices.

  1. These bowls are perfect and durable. The colors are bright and fun and there is a size for every need!

  2. These bowls are great. They are very sturdy for mixing things in them and they are pretty enough to set food out in them. They wash easily and I just love them.

  3. Well Martha and her 2,000 products scores big with me. I like the feel and weight of these bowls, they do not feel like your average department store prep bowls. The colours will work well in most kitchens, even the red is an opportunity to give you a bit of a bang. But I love the muted colours the most,

As I said they have enough weight so you are not afraid of them falling a part on you if you have to whip up some cream, by hand, in them. Also you can throw a fruit or vegetable salad in them and take them to the picnic table.

By the way do not forget to try Martha's small prep bowls. My daughter who is getting into this baking desert on Sunday is delighted with them.
