1. This bowl is really stunning. I didn't want to spend the sixty dollars on it, but I also wanted to find a good bowl to make artisan breads in; I needed the size of the bowl and the stoneware was perfect. I had a hard time finding anything this size that was not metal! After I received it I realized I am going to need a place to display it now, it's so attractive in and of itself! Very heavy, very high quality, solid and HUGE bowl. Highly recommend it if you don't mind spending the price for it. But if you are looking for a good bread bowl, this is the cheapest I could find out of clay, ceramic or stoneware bowls of this size, not much choice out there!



2. I bought this bowl to raise bread dough in, and it is definitely large enough and heavy enough for that purpose. My only regret is the price--I have entire sets of mixing bowls that didn't cost this much!

1. I have used these bowls several times since purchasing them around a month and a half ago. The large one is the perfect size for holding a large batch of pancake batter (the spout makes pouring easy, too), holding 1 bag of popped microwave popcorn or mixing up a meatloaf. I have washed the bowls in the dishwasher multiple times without any trouble. I got them when they were on sale and wish I would have purchased a few more sets to give as gifts. I would consider them to be a great find for the price I got them for ($12.99 maybe?) and would probably even pay a little more for another set now that I know how multi-functional they are.



2. I bought these for my daughter off her wish list. I'm glad I bought these from a non-featured merchant for $14.99, because if I had paid $49.99 or up, I would have felt totally ripped off. They probably do work as well as the other reviewer said and lighter is probably better, but I was expecting more than just plastic from a "professional series" set.



3. I love these bowls, and they were a terrific deal. They have a non-slip bottom, very light, and a lip to pour. Great addition to any kitchen!

1. I have always found that egg whites beaten by an electric mixer were too foamy. Almost like soap bubbles. This copper bowl makes them creamy and appetizing. They are very stable and it simply makes fantastic merinque.
   
   Why reinvent the wheel? People have been doing this for hundreds of years. It really doesn't take as long as you think, nor is it as difficult as you may think.
   
   I was watching Sara's Secrets on the Food Network while Bill Yosses was the guest. I was very impressed with him so I borrowed his book Desserts for Dummies. In it, he says that a 12" diameter bowl is best while ~ 7qts is a good volume. He was correct. This bowl seemed huge, but when eight egg whites triple in volume, it fills it up by two-thirds. It is a fine size.
   
   The copper is beautiful. I hang it over my kitchen.
   
   I had no reservations about quality before I ordered and I was correct in my assumption. Mauviel makes quality products. I would consider this heirloom quality. The walls are very sturdy.
   
   The round bottom is essential to whipping egg whites. Beating (not whisking) the egg whites is so much more efficient and less tiring with the round bottom. While if it had a flat bottom, it would quickly ruin your whisk. Believe me I know. It does have a ring which makes it easier to grasp. I also put a towel underneath that I have bunched up in a circle. This adds stability on a slicker countertop.
   
   I highly recommend this product.
