5 comments about All-Clad LTD 7-1/2 Inch Fry Pan.
- This is the best pan I have ever used. I received it as a Christmas present more than 10 years ago and it is still the one I always use because things don't stick to it. Only draw back is that it is a bit small, so I am just about to buy another larger one.
This size is especially good for doing 2-3 scrambled eggs. When doing the eggs nothing at all is left sticking to the bottom of the pan. Sometimes there are a few bits around the top edge, but a quick rub with some steel wool takes care of that.
I read the most negative review and cannot imagine why she was having touble with it. I always use it on the highest setting on my electric stove with a bit of canola.
She said something about having to stick to low temp's. Maybe she was reviewing the non-stick pans and not the stainless-steel interior ones. So my guess is that her review is actually for a different product.
- I love this little pan ... perfect for making omelettes. I purchased this to replace my old teflon non-stick pan. All you need to do is spray some oil before cooking and it doesn't stick at all. I don't know what other people are doing, but my eggs slide right out of the pan and cleanup is a cinch.
- All-Clad pieces made in China are not the same quality as All-Clad pieces made in the US. I have a set whose pieces were all made in the US and they are wonderful. I bought some of these "teaser" pieces to supplement my set and they were awful--hard to believe that All-Clad even put their name on them. The only difference is that the cheap pieces were made in China so who knows, this may not be the reason why they were bad but it's the only thing I can go on. If you buy them at the store, the box will be clearly marked "Made in China" or "Made in the USA."
If people think all All-Clad pieces are similar to the cheap ones made in China, they are wrong. But unfortunately All-Clad will lose many (potential) fans with these teaser pots and pans.
- It's everything they claim it would be. However, I prefer a non-stick surface. I would probably buy a Calphalon pot in the future.
- This pan is a great value. Sure, it's a little small, but you can see that when you order (it's only 7 1/2", not 12", after all). I've had two of these pans for four years now, and they're wonderful. Buy these, and buy the 12" one too. You won't be sorry.
