  1. Not too big, not too small, not too heavy, not too light, not too hot, not too cold ;-) It's just right! And that makes it really a joy to cook with! Love it!

  2. I have only used this pan once, but it did a good job on my burgers. One thing I noticed, was that it didn't have the LTD anywhere on the pan. Maybe thats normal...don't know. This pan is easy to clean, which means a lot to me. You won't be sorry,if you purchase this one.

  3. I love this pan! Here in the Northeast, it's not much fun to grill outdoors in the winter, so I got this pan as a substitute. I've had grill pans in the past, but they heated unevenly and delicate foods like fish stuck to them.

If I'm not braising it or steaming it, I'm probably cooking it in this pan - shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, burgers, steaks, chicken breasts - even satays and skewers. Because I can get the pan so hot, everthing cooks quickly but with beautiful color.

I wonder if I'll ever want to grill outside again?

  4. Great pan we use a lot, when we don't want to fire up the grill. Cleans easy, not a heavy thing like Le Creuset. We have a ceramic (glass?) surface so works on that with no problem.

  5. My dinners have been saved with this pan. Just throw in a Rib Eye steak or two, a little salt and pepper, and WOW the best steaks I ever ate:) I'm sure it cooks other meats or chicken just as great. It's easy to clean, but do not put it in the dishwasher. It's the perfect grill pan. I can't recommend it high enough - and believe me I don't give to many 5 stars.

  1. Since when did All Clad start making so many of their products in China and why isn't this noted in the item description? It makes a difference to me. I try to buy American when possible and am annoyed when it comes marked "Made in China" when I expect an American made product. I think we deserve a complete description of the product when it has been an American made product for years and suddenly there are more and more pieces coming from China. You can't tell when the piece will be from America or from China until it shows up. Amazon, most other internet shopping services have gotten on board with this and I would like this noted in your description.

  2. Our days of standing in line for pancakes from a skillet are over. The product heats evenly, has a raised cooking surface so grease drains off into the channels leaving behind the burgers or bacon, etc.

The weight is just right and the All-Clad quality shies through.

  3. I just used my griddle for the first time this morning and am happy to say how pleased I am with it. My pancakes cooked evenly, my eggs didn't stick and my kids said it was the best pancakes and eggs I've ever made!I was looking for a high end griddle and I found it!

  4. This griddle is essential to any kitchen. I've owned mine for probably 3 years now. It's my favorite pan. I never dread cooking with it. Pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, hotdogs, you name it, it all cooks perfectly! Clean up is a cinch.

  5. Excellent quality, just like I expected from an All Clad product! I have a gas cooktop and placed the griddle over two burners at the same time when I made several large pork chops (Schnitzel) and meat patties in this griddle and the grease trap/channel that runs along the sides was not a problem for me, even though I used cooking oil to fry the meats as they were breaded and those cannot be cooked without some sort of oil/grease. Yes, I did wish the bottom of the griddle was even and not raised & the trap is largely uneccessary for my cooking needs. It cleaned up easy and nicely (soft sponge) even if it was a bit large and ackward to move around in my normal sized kitchen sink; but the oversized handles helped to hold onto it better! None the less, it's a great addition for my pot and pans collection and will get many uses over the years!

  1. This is our first grill pan, and we are very pleased with it. It is the right weight, heavy enough to provide even cooking, but not so heavy it is hard to lift for cleaning. The handles stay cool, and the food cooks up evenly and well. It is great alternative when it seems to be too much trouble in the summer to use the outdoor grill. We have made grilled sandwiches, vegetables, and fish on it (we do not eat meat). It is the All Clad quality that we expected, and highly recommended, especially at the great Amazon price!

  2. I had purchased a different grill pan and everything stuck to it even after I sprayed it with cooking spray. I saw Giada on the cooking channel use this same pan so I thought I would try it. I am delighted with it. I have grilled bacon and chicken and nothing stuck to it. I recommend this grill and don't worry about the price it is well worth it. Debbie

  3. I was recently at my daughter-in-law's home and saw her using this grill. It was so easy to clean. She uses it in her oven as a broiler rack with her electric oven. The broiler trays that come with most ovens are not that easy to clean, even when using a grilling spray. I liked it so much that I am now buying one for myself to use the same way, as a broiler tray for my oven. It is large enough to fit under the broiler and Soooooo easy to clean!

  4. I was so excited to use this as soon as it was delivered! I grilled chicken, asparagus, and French bread, all at the same time. Everything came out wonderfully perfect. I don't have a big sink, so it's a little tricky to wash, but I love this thing. I have only used this once, so I cannot attest to it's long-term durability, but as sturdy and well made as it is, I expect that this guy will be around for quite some time. I feel that this product is WELL worth the price tag.

  5. This grill pan has plenty of room and deep sides so food doesn't spill out. I actually leave it out on the top of the stove when not in use, because it looks good and reminds me to use it more often! You won't be disappointed.

  1. The ongoing debate over cookware at my house is over: All-Clad is the best cookware overall and is worth the extra money. Our coppers tarnish and require retinning. Our encapsulated disk cookware (Reverere and Farberware) suffer from loose and broken plastic handles and too-small disks which limit the cooking area of the fry pans. The biggest debate was between Calphalon and All-Clad LTD nonstick models. My wife really liked the lighter weight of Calphalon's Commercial Nonstick line. After living for both for several years, All-Clad has shown its overall superiority in the following ways:
    1) Durability. The non-stick finish All-Clad uses wears like iron. The Calphalon's finish shows many more scratches and blisters.
    2) Denser anodized finish. The All-Clad LTD finish is much denser and more even that that on Calphalon. This makes it more attractive and easier to clean. The LTD stuff does look great on a rack mixed with Calphalon too. It's tough to beat black aesthetically.
    3) Greater heat sensitivity. You actually cook with the stove set to a lower temperature with All-Clad. It appears to register changes more quickly. Both types of pan are good in this reguard - but the All-Clad is noticeably better.

As a fry pan, the All-Clad LTD 12" fry pan hits on all cylinders. It's big enough for a 4 egg omlette, or most of pound of bacon. It's battleship built, well balanced, even heating with great sensitivity. The handle stays cool and is angled so that you can lift the heavy contents without undue strain on your wrist. The nonstick finish is effective and tough as nails. The LTD finish is durable and very attractive. It matches well with other anodized aluminum cookware - and you can clean it very effectively with Ajax or Comet and a 3M scrubby. Just make a nice paste and power away the burnt on grease in moments leaving the original matte anthracite finish. Don't worry about scratches - the anodized finish is far harder than the cleaner - only the dirt is stripped away. It looks great and is really durable. Just remember than you cannot dishwash any anodized aluminum cookware. The phosphates will oxidized the finish and leave it chalky and pale (and ruined).

  2. All-Clad items are the best. Unfortunately, we are having a difficult time trying to reach the All-Clad company. We have left a message and an email and they have yet to return our call. We're quite disappointed in that area. You cannot go wrong with the product though.

  3. You do get what you pay for. This pricey All-Clad (aren't all All-Clads pricey?) 12" non-stick frying pan is really terrific. One only needs to pick it up to notice its heft that this is a serious pan. I have been using this pan for the past six months. The heat distribution from the bottom of the pan to the non-stick service is even and quick. The non-stick service is very durable. I have not noticed even one tiny scratch on it yet. Cleaning with warm water and dish detergent is very easy and effortless. It is worth every penny.

  1. After owning several other brands of quality cookware, I finally broke down and invested in set of All-Clad LTD cookware. The set came with a 10 inch non-stick fry pan and I want to get another one! It is my favorite pan, it heats evenly, browns beautifully and is a breeze to clean up. I am very impressed with the durability of the non-stick surface, most other brands can't hold up to the constant daily use. Like most black-matte cookware, it is anodized aluminum. Aluminum is not magnetic so it won't work with magnetic induction cooktops. Anodized aluminum and stainless steel cookware is recommended for use on the newer style of smooth electric cooktops.

  2. I sold cookware for 13 years and tried all the "better" brands-Calphalon, Chantal, Cuisinart, etc. Every piece of cookware I own is All-Clad LTD. I have had the ten inch non-stick fry pan for 11 years now and it is fantastic, I could not imagine not using it. Browns beautifully at medium tempurature, handle never gets hot. Do not let the prices discourage you, this is truly cookware to buy once to last a lifetime. You will easily go through $140 in inferior frypans before you finally buy this one.

  3. First, the induction complaint is ridiculous, like whining because your 110v AC appliance won't plug in to your 12v DC cigarette lighter. All-Clad represents this limitation very clearly, I'm sure the reviewer (who did not read the labels) could quickly sell this pan for near retail because it is so well made that it will last a lifetine with proper care. The nonstick finish is quite durable, the pan heats absolutely evenly, and the handle never gets hot. The pan is well balanced and perfect for flipping omlettes or anything else. The design conserves energy as it distributes heat so efficiently that you never need turn your heat setting past medium to achieve high heat - this does take some getting used to. Very responsive pan and a pleasure to cook with, superior fit and finish. The 10" size is perfect for a couple's everyday needs and for omlettes. It is the pan we use the most in our kitchen and the last one I would surrender, but a larger family might consider the 12" version. Price is high, but its made to last a lifetime and performance is unmatched. We got ours as a wedding gift and I'd recommend it as the perfect gift for a couple with a passion for cooking. If you're going to buy one pan make it this one.

  4. I guess I have the ability to read the description clearly which states the steel/aluminum compilation so I've only experienced great things from this line of cookware.
Disregard the 'one star whiner' who needs an attitude INDUCTION and promptly buy this product.
All Clad LTD will last a life time and the performance is truly awesome!!

  5. I own an INDUCTION cook-top stove. This cook-top cooks using magnetic energy. The magnetic energy cooks by vibrating the metal in the cooking utinsil only, which must be made of a magnetic material, such as steel or iron.All-Clad is noted for being made of steel but I was not told that this pan has an aluminum outside shell, which is non-magnetic. Thus, I own a great pan that is useless to me!Not all All Clad cookware can be used with an Induction stove! Ask mfr. before buying.

  1. I bought this pan after hearing my sister rave about it. It is terrific. I have grilled salmon, hamburgers, chicken breasts and pork tenderloin. Luckily, my sister gave me the secret to using the pan and easy clean up. Preheat the pan on Medium heat for ten minutes. DO NOT use any cooking spray or oil. This will ruin the pan. When you are done cooking, just fill the pan with soapy water and let soak for a few minutes. Rinse with water, scubbing lightly if necessary .

I would highly recommend this pan. It is like having a grill inside!

  2. It's the first grill pan that has worked for me. Hamburgers, filets, steaks, have all turned out beautifully. I have a gas stove - don't know if that makes a difference, but I am buying one for my daughter-in-law.

  3. Well I've had this grill since Jan.2003 and it's still here today.. so I guess it beat all my non-stick disposable pots/pans!! I took a vow never to buy non-stick that's why. Anyway, this grill performs nicely if you have it on medium heat. It does not heat evenly though(my experience). It is not NON-stick %100 though, I don't know why..stuff sticks to it??
The design it nice. All the juices stay in the pan..minimizing splatter. I make grilled cheese sandwiches if I don't want the fat.
I would recommend it if you are into buying non-stick but would not if you just wanted a grill. To me cast iron grills are the best. I use this pan if I'm only cooking for one, amybe two. My cast iron grill is a double burner grill, I use it for family meals. But anyway I give it 3 stars. It is hard to clean up like the reviewers said though, I usually have to soak it, and scrub.

  4. I've used a couple of other grill pans from other manufacturers and was never very impressed. But I decided to give it one more try with the All-Clad. What a difference. Everything I've made from fish to vegetables, soy burgers, steaks - everything, has come out great. I've also found that it cleans up easily after a quick soaking. I don't use any spray and only oiled it as per the instructions the first time I used it. Northing sticks. Overall, a great pan I use several times a week.

  5. I have only owned this item for about 3 weeks and have used it at least 10 times already. What I like about it is that it is big enough to hold just about anything, leaves nice "grill marks", takes less energy and time to heat the pan, and it is very very easy to clean. If you find it hard to clean, it is probably because non-stick spray or even oil (not including butter) is being used. Don't do it. It is already "non-stick". Usually I put any oil that is needed on the meat or veggies first, then cook it. If you have a sticking problem, after cleaning the pan, rub a little soft scrub 0n the spot. This gets rid of any residue that may have caused the sticking to begin with. I think it is better than George Foreman, becuase the fat doesn't drain away which, in the end, saves the flavor.

2 comments about All-Clad LTD 3-Quart Saucier Pan.

  1. Cons: Not dishwasher safe, there is no lip for pouring (liquids tends to dribble down the side), and its expensive.

Pros: The anodized exterior is great, it looks nice and doesn't scratch. The thick aluminun heats *very* evenly and is perfect for anything delicate. The rounded edges are perfect for sauces, and allow the use of spatulas and wisks without missing any corners. You can even use it for stir frys, etc. Built to last forever.

  2. Unlike a traditional saucepan, this pan is perfectly shaped for making a sauce. The flared shape facilitates reduction of liquids and allows a whisk to easily reach the sides of the pan. The pan can also be used to saute or stir-fry.

A bechamel, gravy or any sauce will thicken more quickly with a saucier pan, as compared to a conventional saucepan. The anodized exterior and stainless interior is visually pleasing as well as easy to care for by hand washing. The LTD line is not dishwasher safe.

  1. The gently sloped sides of All Clad's 2-Quart Saucier exactly match the curve of All Clad's stainless balloon whisk (and many other balloon whisks for that matter). This gentle curve, combined with the very smooth tough stainless steel interior make this a great surface for frequent stirring. All Clad's incredible heat transmissive properties allow you to deftly adjust temperature - a must for delicate sauces, roux, and risotto. Of course this pan can be used as a general purpose sauce pan as well. The 2 quart size is just the right size too.

All-Clad's LTD has the most beautiful black anodized finish in the business. It has a denser anodized finish than Calphalon. This makes it more attractive and easier to clean. The extra aluminum probably helps the performance and it's tough to beat black aesthetically.

You clean anodized aluminum with a plastic scrubby (like the 3M green ones) with bleach cleanser (like Ajax or Comet). Just make a paste with the cleanser and power away stains in moments. Anodized aluminum - like all aluminum cannot be dish washed. The phosphates and brightening agents in dishwasher soap with create a chalky powdery rot in the anodized surface. If you are determined to dishwash your cookware you must forget about aluminum and stick to stainless steel. All-Clad makes a great line of stainless cookware - but nothing is prettier than LTD's awesome black.

  1. This pan is truly awesome. It heats up very quickly and completely evenly - absolutely no hot spots. It retains heat excellently - you only need to use low to medium heat. And cleanup is so easy. The stainless steel surface is like no other - it is almost impossible to get something to stick, and once it is clean it is as shiny as the day you brought it home.

The shape of this pan is extremely versatile. Saying it is "wok-like" does it no justice. This is the pan I reach for most of the time. It is great for risotto, sautes, egg dishes, paella - you name it.

Yes, it is pricy, but this pan (and any All-Clad LTD pan) will serve you for a lifetime. And on the question of anodized vs. copper - I see no reason to spend even more on copper unless you are an avid saucier. This line heats and cooks very comparably to copper.
