  1. Not too big, not too small, not too heavy, not too light, not too hot, not too cold ;-) It's just right! And that makes it really a joy to cook with! Love it!

  2. I have only used this pan once, but it did a good job on my burgers. One thing I noticed, was that it didn't have the LTD anywhere on the pan. Maybe thats normal...don't know. This pan is easy to clean, which means a lot to me. You won't be sorry,if you purchase this one.

  3. I love this pan! Here in the Northeast, it's not much fun to grill outdoors in the winter, so I got this pan as a substitute. I've had grill pans in the past, but they heated unevenly and delicate foods like fish stuck to them.

If I'm not braising it or steaming it, I'm probably cooking it in this pan - shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, burgers, steaks, chicken breasts - even satays and skewers. Because I can get the pan so hot, everthing cooks quickly but with beautiful color.

I wonder if I'll ever want to grill outside again?

  4. Great pan we use a lot, when we don't want to fire up the grill. Cleans easy, not a heavy thing like Le Creuset. We have a ceramic (glass?) surface so works on that with no problem.

  5. My dinners have been saved with this pan. Just throw in a Rib Eye steak or two, a little salt and pepper, and WOW the best steaks I ever ate:) I'm sure it cooks other meats or chicken just as great. It's easy to clean, but do not put it in the dishwasher. It's the perfect grill pan. I can't recommend it high enough - and believe me I don't give to many 5 stars.

  1. Since when did All Clad start making so many of their products in China and why isn't this noted in the item description? It makes a difference to me. I try to buy American when possible and am annoyed when it comes marked "Made in China" when I expect an American made product. I think we deserve a complete description of the product when it has been an American made product for years and suddenly there are more and more pieces coming from China. You can't tell when the piece will be from America or from China until it shows up. Amazon, most other internet shopping services have gotten on board with this and I would like this noted in your description.

  2. Our days of standing in line for pancakes from a skillet are over. The product heats evenly, has a raised cooking surface so grease drains off into the channels leaving behind the burgers or bacon, etc.

The weight is just right and the All-Clad quality shies through.

  3. I just used my griddle for the first time this morning and am happy to say how pleased I am with it. My pancakes cooked evenly, my eggs didn't stick and my kids said it was the best pancakes and eggs I've ever made!I was looking for a high end griddle and I found it!

  4. This griddle is essential to any kitchen. I've owned mine for probably 3 years now. It's my favorite pan. I never dread cooking with it. Pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, hotdogs, you name it, it all cooks perfectly! Clean up is a cinch.

  5. Excellent quality, just like I expected from an All Clad product! I have a gas cooktop and placed the griddle over two burners at the same time when I made several large pork chops (Schnitzel) and meat patties in this griddle and the grease trap/channel that runs along the sides was not a problem for me, even though I used cooking oil to fry the meats as they were breaded and those cannot be cooked without some sort of oil/grease. Yes, I did wish the bottom of the griddle was even and not raised & the trap is largely uneccessary for my cooking needs. It cleaned up easy and nicely (soft sponge) even if it was a bit large and ackward to move around in my normal sized kitchen sink; but the oversized handles helped to hold onto it better! None the less, it's a great addition for my pot and pans collection and will get many uses over the years!

  1. I got this pan for free b/c I bought so much All-Clad. I love the rest of it, but this pan has brought me nothing but trouble. I do agree the sides are a little short. I also think it is awkward to hold and move around. Also, it says non-stick, but if you keep reading it says you need to use a little oil. Frankly, I think they give it away for a reason.

  2. A must have for any kitchen. A beautiful pan that will last for years. Makes beautiful sandwiches. Highly recommended.

  3. i bought this pan for like 59 dollars on a promotional special price. i would not pay more for it. the pan is well constructed in true all clad fashion. i think i would rather have higher sides, b/c when a fat sandwich is in the pan and the press is on top, the press wobbles and i don't feel safe leaving it unattended. also, it says to preheat the press, which is nice and heavy, on another burner and after trying several temps and times of preheating, it never seemed to give the crust that desireable golden brown. its easier to flip the sandwich after pressing it.
i think i would like the mario batali one better, because the enamel is more pleasing to the eye than the black nonstick look of the all clad, and also b/c the sides are higher.
all in all, it does the job; but for all clad, i expected perfection, i suppose.

  4. I have nothing but praise for this pan. I have been using it 4-5 times per week since I purchased it.

The pan heats quickly and evenly and gives that perfect grilled crust to everything I have tried. It did take some practice to get the temperature and timing down - I heat the press on another burner at 9/10 and the pan at about a 4/10. That gives me the perfect browning to both sides while also allowing enough time for the sandwich to get hot throughout. All Clad gives some advice on timing and procedure, but I think my system works better. Be aware, the handle of the pan stays cool but the press handle can get hot.

The listing does not say, but the press is cast iron and quite heavy. Cleanup of the press and pan is easy. The non-stick of the pan works well and the cast iron cleans up easily (I always butter or oil what I am grilling, so ymmv).

I now get perfect sandwiches every time, and never have to worry about all the things that can go wrong with an electric panini press. I am sure this pan will give me many years of great service.

  5. This pan will not disappoint; it's the real thing! The press weighs as least twice as much as the pan--which is hard to find these days. I originally purchased to grill sliced panini rolls, but now use this wonderful pan to grill almost everything from steaks to vegetables. The press is heavy and works; only draw back to this is when it's hot, it's sometimes difficult to hold on to in the air or locate the right spot to rest the press when you have to flip, garnish and/or move around what ever you're grilling.

  1. This is our first grill pan, and we are very pleased with it. It is the right weight, heavy enough to provide even cooking, but not so heavy it is hard to lift for cleaning. The handles stay cool, and the food cooks up evenly and well. It is great alternative when it seems to be too much trouble in the summer to use the outdoor grill. We have made grilled sandwiches, vegetables, and fish on it (we do not eat meat). It is the All Clad quality that we expected, and highly recommended, especially at the great Amazon price!

  2. I had purchased a different grill pan and everything stuck to it even after I sprayed it with cooking spray. I saw Giada on the cooking channel use this same pan so I thought I would try it. I am delighted with it. I have grilled bacon and chicken and nothing stuck to it. I recommend this grill and don't worry about the price it is well worth it. Debbie

  3. I was recently at my daughter-in-law's home and saw her using this grill. It was so easy to clean. She uses it in her oven as a broiler rack with her electric oven. The broiler trays that come with most ovens are not that easy to clean, even when using a grilling spray. I liked it so much that I am now buying one for myself to use the same way, as a broiler tray for my oven. It is large enough to fit under the broiler and Soooooo easy to clean!

  4. I was so excited to use this as soon as it was delivered! I grilled chicken, asparagus, and French bread, all at the same time. Everything came out wonderfully perfect. I don't have a big sink, so it's a little tricky to wash, but I love this thing. I have only used this once, so I cannot attest to it's long-term durability, but as sturdy and well made as it is, I expect that this guy will be around for quite some time. I feel that this product is WELL worth the price tag.

  5. This grill pan has plenty of room and deep sides so food doesn't spill out. I actually leave it out on the top of the stove when not in use, because it looks good and reminds me to use it more often! You won't be disappointed.

  1. Being a cook that entertains a lot of guess. I found this griddle to be a delight. Nothing does stick to it. Just follow the simple rules about the finish and you'll have a pan for a lot of years.
I only wish that it was made in the USA instead of China.

  2. This is the best nonstrick griddle I have purchased. You only need to heat medium to medium-high to get the best result. I use a little oil to give flavor to the food I am cooking and everything slides right off! I use it to make a lot of chicken. The pleasant surprise is that I can now make eggs over easy on medium heat - sets nicely to be able to flip without breaking the egg and without overcooking it. This is the first pan I have ever been able to achieve this. Since it is such a nice size, I cook eggs and ham and other items all at the same time.

Unlike other nonstick pans I have purchased in the past, it has retained its' "nonstick".

  3. Just be aware that not all All-Clad items are made in the USA. One needs to check the box it is mailed to you in to find out the country it is made in. I purchase this item (an All-Clad LTD 12-Inch Nonstick Round Grill Pan) and found out after the fact that it is made in China. Also there is no indication on the grill of where it was made. I just think it would be nice to know up front the country that is manufacturing the item.

  4. GREAT FOR PANCAKES AND CREPES.NONSTICK INTERIOR WITH DUPONT COATING. OPTIMUM RELEASE FOR EASY CLEANING.

  1. Well balanced, unlike some other pans whose handles are too heavy or long. This nonstick finish works perfectly every time. A good piece to invest in for your kitchen.

  2. I bought this pan as a gift for a true French woman to replace her well- worn, old warped pan that she brought with her from France. She is raving about this one! Although much heavier then her last, it is very easy to flip the crepes & the non-stick surface is requiring less butter. The perfectly flat surface is allowing for thinner, lighter crepes that are evenly cooked. She claims she has never made such good crepes!

  3. I haven't had a chance to try crepes with this pan yet, but couldn't hold in my good review any longer. I have used this pan mostly for pancakes and eggs, but even dared to use it with greasy bacon. Clean-up was a cinch in all cases, and it took no scrubbing or soaking at all.

  4. I like this pan, I have used it much like a griddle. The sides aren't high, so it is easy to get under whatever you need to flip. The sides allow a free flowing batter to not fall off like many griddles. The pan has a good weight to it and is able to retain it's heat well.

I gave this 4 stars because I thought all All Clad was made in the USA. This is made in China, probably along with the Emeril-ware, so I'm not sure if the quality will be as good or will hold up as long as I was expecting. Otherwise, it is a nice pan.

  5. The crepe pan made making crepes a breeze. The crepes just slide out of the pan making almost impossible to mess them up. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

  1. The all clad grill pan is amazing! We're still trying to figure out how to use it on different foods and types of meat. It leaves great grill marks and it's as close as we can get to grill in our city living. Would recommend it to anyone who can't use a grill. Also, I suggest cooking on lower heat for longer periods of time, even if some recipes suggest a medium high heat.

  2. We are an all clad family now having slowly up dated our old pans. So tthat in itself forms the basis of this review and that all clad is worth the extra bucks compared with the other brands. If you love fish then cooking on any non-stick pans will not work, and for this value you really cannot get any better! I agree a pan is a pan, but it is an all clad and works wonder in producing the best fish dishes. Luckily, we also happen to get one year subscriptiion bon appetite - the value of this pan is more than surpassed my expectations. Love it and thanks Amazon!

  3. I got this pan last year for my husband. It works wonderfully and is very easy to clean. I'm big on easy to clean! We use it mostly when the weather is too cold to barbeque. It makes beautiful grill marks. After one year, it has not tarnished or scratched as our other pans have. It has held up very well and we are not easy on our pans.

  4. Altho the description states "Stainless" and "Magnetic," upon receiving and attempting to use this grille pan, it first failed the magnetic test. It also failed to conduct any heat on an induction cooktop. But it looked beautiful!

  5. Don't know where J. Bensen lives, but if you live in the northern part of the country, it's nice to have a grill pan in January! I am into the Grill Pan thing, I own seven, 2 S/S tri-ply, 3 hard-anodized and 2 Cast Iron (Staub & that other one from France). I lov'em all, but I give the edge to the All-Clad S/S nonstick, best lookin', best cookin', easy clean up! Just a thought, down in Tucson, AZ, I bet it's nice to have a grill pan in August!

  1. I bought this pan after hearing my sister rave about it. It is terrific. I have grilled salmon, hamburgers, chicken breasts and pork tenderloin. Luckily, my sister gave me the secret to using the pan and easy clean up. Preheat the pan on Medium heat for ten minutes. DO NOT use any cooking spray or oil. This will ruin the pan. When you are done cooking, just fill the pan with soapy water and let soak for a few minutes. Rinse with water, scubbing lightly if necessary .

I would highly recommend this pan. It is like having a grill inside!

  2. It's the first grill pan that has worked for me. Hamburgers, filets, steaks, have all turned out beautifully. I have a gas stove - don't know if that makes a difference, but I am buying one for my daughter-in-law.

  3. Well I've had this grill since Jan.2003 and it's still here today.. so I guess it beat all my non-stick disposable pots/pans!! I took a vow never to buy non-stick that's why. Anyway, this grill performs nicely if you have it on medium heat. It does not heat evenly though(my experience). It is not NON-stick %100 though, I don't know why..stuff sticks to it??
The design it nice. All the juices stay in the pan..minimizing splatter. I make grilled cheese sandwiches if I don't want the fat.
I would recommend it if you are into buying non-stick but would not if you just wanted a grill. To me cast iron grills are the best. I use this pan if I'm only cooking for one, amybe two. My cast iron grill is a double burner grill, I use it for family meals. But anyway I give it 3 stars. It is hard to clean up like the reviewers said though, I usually have to soak it, and scrub.

  4. I've used a couple of other grill pans from other manufacturers and was never very impressed. But I decided to give it one more try with the All-Clad. What a difference. Everything I've made from fish to vegetables, soy burgers, steaks - everything, has come out great. I've also found that it cleans up easily after a quick soaking. I don't use any spray and only oiled it as per the instructions the first time I used it. Northing sticks. Overall, a great pan I use several times a week.

  5. I have only owned this item for about 3 weeks and have used it at least 10 times already. What I like about it is that it is big enough to hold just about anything, leaves nice "grill marks", takes less energy and time to heat the pan, and it is very very easy to clean. If you find it hard to clean, it is probably because non-stick spray or even oil (not including butter) is being used. Don't do it. It is already "non-stick". Usually I put any oil that is needed on the meat or veggies first, then cook it. If you have a sticking problem, after cleaning the pan, rub a little soft scrub 0n the spot. This gets rid of any residue that may have caused the sticking to begin with. I think it is better than George Foreman, becuase the fat doesn't drain away which, in the end, saves the flavor.

  1. I just bought this pan today at Bed Bath Beyond for 39.99 in Mass. If you live in this state, you must go get this pan, this sale was not in the circular. It also comes with a grill pan cooking book.

I bought some rib eye steaks to test it out on, and all I can say is WOW. To the reviewer that said you don't get grill marks, try getting a brick, and covering it tightly in heavy foil, lay it on top of what ever your grilling, you will get grill marks. You said there is no smoke taste, buy Wrights liquid smoke, I like the Mesquite.

This pan is a breeze to clean up, and the food, OMG the food tastes fantastic. No need for any oil, I also grilled brocolli spears when the steaks were almost done.
All-Clad Grille Pan Nonstick 12" Rawks!!! Oh it's heavy, I love that in a pan.

  2. If you are trying to use high heat and get fabulous grill marks, this is not the pan for you. No non-stick coating will hold up to the heat and the ridges on this pan are too wide and shallow.

With that said, this pan is great for cooking fish, seafood and bacon. Clean up is amazingly simple.

If you're only going to buy one grill pan, I wouldn't suggest this one. It is a great supplemental pan.

I give it five stars based on cooking the items above.

  3. Very disappointed that All Clad decided to use non-magnetic stainless steel on this grill pan, which will not heat on an Induction cooktop.

  4. After much indecision, I finally opted for the non-stick grill pan and it is wonderful. It is easy to clean and doesn't take up much storage space, in contrast to the electric grill I have been using. I have used it for hamburgers and they are done just right. I can also toast the buns right on the grill as I cook the meat. I look forward to many future pork chops, bacon, hamburgers, steaks and chicken, all done on my grill. I used to use an iron skillet but the grease had no where to go.

  1. This is one of the best investments I have made for the kitchen. With this pan, you can make seared scallops so tender and succelent, it will make you feel like a professional chef. I also grill vegetables of all kinds on this pan with a little bit of olive oil for a delicious and low-fat side or main dish. You will not be disappointed!

  2. What a great deal this was. The grill pan was less than half price and the two All-Clad oven mitts are a terrific bonus. Macy's shipped this almost immediately and it arrive very quickly.

  3. After going through several Nathan's cheap stovetop grilles. I realized, that although I love grilling food, I needed a good grill pan. I did not wish upon a star but a dream came true with this marvelous cooking aid. I use it evry day, It NRVER sticks and the heat is so evenly distrubuted that everything comes out perfect! It also is a handsome addition to my kitchen.
