- My wife and I received this as a gift to add to our 10" and 12" copper core pans. At first we did not think we would find much of a use for it. However, as we often have both of us and our two teenage boys all in the kitchen at the same time during a meal prep, we have found several uses for it. We sear or sweat some ingredients prior to adding them to a larger recipe.
If you already have parts of an All-Clad collection this will complement nicely. If you do not have any All-Clad this may be a good place to start.
- Purchased as a Christmas gift. I removed the skillet from the box which could be opened with no damage to box and examined product and sorta wished I had one also. Made in USA.
- The pan is tiny whereby the handle rivots overpower the pan. The pan didnt heat up as quickly as my calphalon stainless 10in pan. I truely wont buy it again, go calphalon. It is cheaper with better quality.
- Best little can do pan ever! After purchasing the 7 pc set from Macys I realized that the 12" pan is just too big for everyday use. I remebered thet Warehouse Deals/Amazon also carried All Clad, so I did my search and up came a 8" pan for $25.99 (approx) Easy enough, just click and it was on its way. Highly recomend All Clad to all my friends, as if they didn't already know that they make the best in cookware.
- I bought this pan couple of weeks ago. I used it twice. I am really impressed with it. I thought it would be too hard to clean. I WAS WRONG. It's easy to clean especially if you use oil or butter (I never used Al-Clad fry pan without oil so I have no idea how does it without oil). I wash it right after done cooking.
I noticed that it does not heat fast, but food stay hot for long time after cooking (in the pan). When I decided to buy All-Clad frying pan I was thinking of buying non-stick one. Then I changed my mind after reading some reviews about All-clad non-stick surface. I said: Why to pay so much for non-stick when it's easy to scratch like any other non-stick. Great buy. Am glad I bought it.

- Not too big, not too small, not too heavy, not too light, not too hot, not too cold ;-) It's just right! And that makes it really a joy to cook with! Love it!
- I have only used this pan once, but it did a good job on my burgers. One thing I noticed, was that it didn't have the LTD anywhere on the pan. Maybe thats normal...don't know. This pan is easy to clean, which means a lot to me. You won't be sorry,if you purchase this one.
- I love this pan! Here in the Northeast, it's not much fun to grill outdoors in the winter, so I got this pan as a substitute. I've had grill pans in the past, but they heated unevenly and delicate foods like fish stuck to them.
If I'm not braising it or steaming it, I'm probably cooking it in this pan - shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, burgers, steaks, chicken breasts - even satays and skewers. Because I can get the pan so hot, everthing cooks quickly but with beautiful color.
I wonder if I'll ever want to grill outside again?
- Great pan we use a lot, when we don't want to fire up the grill. Cleans easy, not a heavy thing like Le Creuset. We have a ceramic (glass?) surface so works on that with no problem.
- My dinners have been saved with this pan. Just throw in a Rib Eye steak or two, a little salt and pepper, and WOW the best steaks I ever ate:) I'm sure it cooks other meats or chicken just as great. It's easy to clean, but do not put it in the dishwasher. It's the perfect grill pan. I can't recommend it high enough - and believe me I don't give to many 5 stars.

- An terrific pan, which is used almost daily. We have a large set and All-Clad is EXCELLENT.
- It's a good size, even heat & easy cleanup. I was concerned about it not being a no-stick pan, but its performance won me over the first time I used it.
- I have wanted this pan for a long, long time, and I was finally able to get it. All I can say is that I wish I had bought it before. It's an amazing pan, food cooks evenly, nothing sticks, washes easily --- I'm happy to have it and strongly recommend it. A worthwhile investment!
- I bought this pan for a christmas present for my husband. he loves to cook. I find myself using it alot also. It's so nice to cook with. I bought the cover separately but now wonder if I should have. I don't think I'll be using the cover much since it's a frying pan. Just something to think about. But the pan is outstanding!!!!
- This is an awesome skillet. No one should be without! It's a fantastic size and the quality can't be beat. I have other all clad pieces and some caphalon also. You really do get what you pay for. Highly recommend this!

- This pan is not only pretty, but it cooks extremely evenly. Do not use metal utensils while cooking with these pans - I wasn't thinking and did scratch mine a bit. You'll love this pan!
- This pan and an All-Clad saucepan were big splurges for me. I have not cooked in another brand of stainless cookware and did look at several other brands. That said, I have not questioned my buying decision once.
The keys for me have been "hot pan, cold oil (fat)", not being too chintzy with the fat, and letting the food get a good amount of caramelization before touching it. Not that that's rocket science, it's just such a treat to find cooking in stainless so easy. About the amount of fat, 1 Tbsp butter was sufficient for an omelet which didn't stick; but otherwise, I've actually been surprised at how little fat I could use--it just isn't like a getting by with little to no fat in a nonstick pan.
This pan is the perfect size for my family of two. It's easy to handle and fits on my stove burners well, so even if I was fixing more food I'd have a hard time switching from this size pan. It's an acceptable size for smaller meals like a two-egg omelet.
I wash the pan in the dishwasher and use Barkeepers Friend to get rid of any discoloration.
- Remember that Queen song, "I'm in love with my car?" Well, I love my All-Clad pans. Food browns perfectly, deglazes easily and just makes cooking a dream. They clean up easily with a soak and a soft brush. If you are registering for a wedding or another occasion, definitely pop this one on your list.
- This Pan Is Not for the inexperianced cook. Go for the coate
d cookware
- I bought this pan and love it. It has the perfect slope to flip food. As far as the handle goes...well, that's another story. All-Clad quality is top notch but they fall short on the handle design. The handle does stay unbelievably cool, but it's dam uncomfortable. I compensated for it being so narrow by purchasing a suede handle cover. I still rate it a five though.

- 4th degree burns can be suffered when handling this metallic brim stoke pot, which doesn't have cool iron density retraction at the handle. You are better getting a cool wave disperse model which Maytag sells, but if you use a Calco hand glove, this is just as good.
- The size of this pan is great for a lot of uses. I am disappointed in the wall thickness though. The wall on this pan is thinner than the 1 qt I bought a couple of years ago.
- This is a heavy duty item. It distributes heat evenly and it is very attractive. I have a full set and bought this piece for my daughter. I would highly recommend it although it is a bit pricey. It should last forever if given proper care.
- All Clad has two pots at bargain prices to lure cooks in to the pleasures of top quality cookware--the 8" fry pan and the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan. You deserve both of them so don't hesitate. My mother is 89 and a true penny squeezing Depression Era baby. I gave her the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan and to my surprise the last time I visited she had bought the fry pan for her self. She liked the looks (she leaves these pans out on the stove just because she likes the look of quality) and appreciated the even heating and ease of cleaning. If you buy these two pieces you will probably come back for more thus justifying All Clad's marketing strategy. I know I sound like an All Clad shill, but don't hesitate, it's a bargain.
- I am very please with the response to my order. The item is as described.

- I really enjoy this Stock pot , it cleans nicely and cooks my soups with ease .
Good quality Stainless Steel body and strong Handles.
It is manufactured to be from the better class of kitchenware ,
I highly recommend this pot.
- The product is of decent build quality, but no greater than Calphalon. I have a large collection of Calphalon product (aluminum and stainless). I perfer their product because ergonomically it just feels better and they stand behind their warranty. I had a problem with the first Allclad piece I bought and Allclad wouldn't stand behind their warranty. They suggested I talk to the retailer about taking it back. With Calphalon I send the piece in and they send me a new one. I'm not going to spend a premium on cookware if the company won't stand behind it. I don't care what country the product is made in, I want a quality product that you are willing to stand behind.
- This is my first All-Clad product, the stuff's not cheap! This is a great pot for the money. It is a large, sturdy pot and can get heavy, even half full it's a load. The steamer basket is very nice and it cleans up very easy. If you're bothering to read this, just buy it.
- It's a very nice pot, and well worth the price IF you don't have an induction cooktop. Although the description clearly states it's magnetic stainless, it's not. All of my cookware is All-Clad, and I love them, but they need to be a little more clear (or honest?) about this one.. it's not made by All-Clad, it's made in China, and it's not usable on an induction cooktop, unlike all their other stainless cookware.
- Despite what the description says, this cookware will not work with an induction cooktop. I was quite excited when the package arrived; the item appeared to be well built and was quite heavy. But when I placed a magnet to the bottom of the pot, it did not stick. It appears that Amazon has an incorrect discription of the item. All-clad is famous for their induction cookware, and one doesn't need a top of the line pot to boil water - but it does need to hold a magnet if it's going to work with an induction cooktop. I didn't know how many starts to rate this item. For a gas or conventional electric cooktop, I would give it at least four stars, but for induction, it is really zero stars.

- I make a lot of sauces. The rounded sides make it easy to stir the sauce and the cladded sides provide even heat distribution - don't know how I got along without it. Also great for small quantities of vegetables. I recommend it unqualifedly - 5 stars all the way
- I like the size of this pan but the rounded bottom makes it tippy on my gas range. I prefer the square bottomed sauce pans.
- I've used AllClad pots and pans for more than thirty years. The originals I bought all those years ago are, if anything, handsomer than they were when new, because of all the polishing they've had. They function just as they always have, too. I've had to replace some of them because a couple of years ago, I began cooking by induction, and my nice old faithfuls have aluminum exteriors and won't conduct. This little saucier is the junior of a larger one I own, and is perfectly suited to making classic sauces, as well as the morning oatmeal, if you start your day that way. I'm sure there's nothing I can say about AllClad you don't already know. We all know there are cheaper pots, but there are cheaper everything elses, too, which is no reason not to go first class if you can.
- I love all-clad products. This is a great pan. But Amazon's free shipping policy needs review. This item sat in a UPS warehouse 100 miles from my home for about 2 weeks and then it arrived after 3 weeks of the order. I could have walked the 100 miles and back and had the pan before it was shipped. Very poor service, hopefully this will be reviewed and changed.
- I bought just one small All Clad pot to see if I'd like it since they're a pretty big investment. I had a hard time believeing that food wouldn't stick to the surface since it isn't nonstick. I absolutely love the pot and it's soooo easy to clean up, almost easier than my nonstick utensils, I haven't used it for frying or anything though. It just feels really good to have one really great pot and I'm going to buy more when I can. I love the pot and would highly recommend it.

- Since when did All Clad start making so many of their products in China and why isn't this noted in the item description? It makes a difference to me. I try to buy American when possible and am annoyed when it comes marked "Made in China" when I expect an American made product. I think we deserve a complete description of the product when it has been an American made product for years and suddenly there are more and more pieces coming from China. You can't tell when the piece will be from America or from China until it shows up. Amazon, most other internet shopping services have gotten on board with this and I would like this noted in your description.
- Our days of standing in line for pancakes from a skillet are over. The product heats evenly, has a raised cooking surface so grease drains off into the channels leaving behind the burgers or bacon, etc.
The weight is just right and the All-Clad quality shies through.
- I just used my griddle for the first time this morning and am happy to say how pleased I am with it. My pancakes cooked evenly, my eggs didn't stick and my kids said it was the best pancakes and eggs I've ever made!I was looking for a high end griddle and I found it!
- This griddle is essential to any kitchen. I've owned mine for probably 3 years now. It's my favorite pan. I never dread cooking with it. Pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, hotdogs, you name it, it all cooks perfectly! Clean up is a cinch.
- Excellent quality, just like I expected from an All Clad product! I have a gas cooktop and placed the griddle over two burners at the same time when I made several large pork chops (Schnitzel) and meat patties in this griddle and the grease trap/channel that runs along the sides was not a problem for me, even though I used cooking oil to fry the meats as they were breaded and those cannot be cooked without some sort of oil/grease. Yes, I did wish the bottom of the griddle was even and not raised & the trap is largely uneccessary for my cooking needs. It cleaned up easy and nicely (soft sponge) even if it was a bit large and ackward to move around in my normal sized kitchen sink; but the oversized handles helped to hold onto it better! None the less, it's a great addition for my pot and pans collection and will get many uses over the years!

- This is a fantastic Fry Pan. This is my second All-Clad 10 inch since the one I am replacing I have used for many, many years multiple times a day - I could not live without this Fry Pan. It cooks food evenly, food does not stick, is easy to wash, and is extremely durable - you will enjoy it for years.
- I've been an owner of All Clad for 15 years. My non-stick fry pan however looses it's teflon coating every 12-24 months along the edges. Probably not good for my health. However, I would simply drop the pan in the mail, send back to All Clad and almost like magic a new pan would be shipped to me within 7 days. Since All Clad was bought in 2004 everything has changed. They give you a hard time about using there famous warranty, and make the process difficult with RMA numbers, having to write something to them and wait to hear from them with a shipping number. It took them 2 weeks just to reply and give me a shipping number. Now they've had my pan for 4+ weeks and they told me it may be another 2 weeks. What's the point of the warranty? I am done with All Clad. Such a bummer.
- If you go on All-Clad's website, you'll see this pan is not
made with Teflon. We've used it for two years now. Awesome
for eggs and the coating which appears to be bonded MUCH better than
Teflon pans absolutely never flakes off. It actually appears to be
somehow blended or bonded with the steel itself. Highly recommended,
though a bit expensive.
- You have the bottom of the pan clad in stainless steel...the advantage of that? You can dishwasher stainless. But you can't dishwasher nonstick! You just have the disadvantage of slower heating than you would with straight aluminum underneath.
And then you put teflon on something that costs over $100...the pan will last 50 or more years, the nonstick about five if you use it lightly and don't let some idiot put metal on it ever.
There's no indication that they will resurface your pan either...the warranty just covers defects, not use.
I think this is very wasteful economically, if not environmentally (because it is a massive yet not durable product, even if you recycle it). You can get a cheaper nonstick that will serve you for the five years just fine (e.g. Calphalon commercial), and better you can get this pan without the teflon and learn how to season your own cookware and make it even more nonstick than this can ever be and yet utterly indestructible, even with metal utensils.
People will only buy this for the looks. After all, they don't know how to cook anyway.
- This is my official egg pan -- even if I'm only cooking one. The nonstick finish is great. I haven't had any problems with it. I like the fact that I can get the All-Clad even heat technology with a non-stick surface. Because of the non-stick surface, the pan is not dishwasher safe. However, it's so easy to clean that you don't even think about it.
I use this pan so often that I don't bother to put it away. Its home is on my stove.
Update 4/8/06: Nonstick requires more care than I'm used to. I admit that I am guilty of letting the pan get too hot while it's empty and I believe I have damaged the nonstick coating. (This can happen with any brand of nonstick pan.) I recently read that to avoid damaging the coating, you should always heat the pan with oil. The oil will smoke before the pan gets too hot to do any damage. I purchased this pan in December of 2004 and it has lasted longer than previous nonstick skillets, but I will have to replace it soon. I am also thinking about getting an 8" nonstick as well because perhaps I'm not doing the larger pan any favors when I fry something in it that doesn't take up that much space, like a single egg.
UPDATE: 8/26/06
I did not know that you shouldn't use nonstick spay with nonstick cookware!
When a plan losses its nonstick properties, All-Clad suggests cleaning with a paste of baking soda and water. If the baking soda doesn't turn brown, switch to Bar Keeper's Friend and water. Always scrub with something made for nonstick cookeware. None of this helped my pan, so I will send it in to All-Clad.

4 comments about Emerilware Cast Iron 10 Inch Square Grille Pan.
- I have a couple of two burner grill pans [which are just fabulous, BTW altho' pricey] but I wanted something smaller. This is too small, even for two. You also get a different 'grilled' flavor from this pan, and, finally it's heavy and hard to clean. So...
- I went through three non-stick, very expensive pans from the major players, and every time the story was the same. I would really like the pan until I used it about six or seven times, then the non-stick coating would wear off and they would stick like mad. This is because proper grilling can only be done under high heat, in a preheated pan. Doing this to a non-stick pan heats it up well past its tolerances, and destroys the coating.
So finally I tried a cast iron grill pan from Lodge. It was excellent, and took to high heat well. It is pretty hard to clean, the food sticks a bit, and the grill marks are not as crisp as I would like. Still, it was much better than anything aluminum.
When I saw this one, I decided to try it since I like my other Emeril pans.
It is even better than my other one. Interesting, as I strongly suspect these Emeril pans are also made by Lodge. The little tweaks he made to the pan are well thought out. The ridges are tapered such that they almost come to a point. The result is clear sear lines with no sticking. It is also heavier than my other pan, so it holds heat better, and has much higher sides to help contain spatters.
There is one thing to be aware of, however. This pan is smaller than its Lodge counterpart, so it is well suited to grilling for two (even if the things you are making are large). If you are doing more than that, it'll get a little tight in there. I keep my Lodge pan around for the times I need more cooking space, but I can see this one is going to get a lot more use as I normally do two things at a time anyway.
The first time you use it, spray it lightly with cooking spray oil inside and out, then put it on a high heat burner until it smokes. Turn the burner off and let it cool off on the burner slowly by itself. This will help season it a bit (even though it is preseasoned) and make sure that you won't get any sticking the first time you use it.
If you are even thinking of experimenting with grilling, get this pan and give it a try.
Sean P. Logue, 2008
- This is seriously a heavy duty,, high quality product. The grill has deep grooves which makes for more healthy cooking as the fat stays on the bottom and it just feels like it can definitely take a beating should it ever have to. The only thing I found it lacking (and not really a big problem) is that the handle seems a bit short for a pan of this weight and size. You'd need two hands to carry it securely. Great product overall.
- Well, it's a cast iron grille pan. What else can I say about it?
Like all cast iron pans, it's quite heavy, but it will also last for a lifetime(or more). It is also non-stick, providing that it is cleaned and cared for appropriately(there are appropriate seasoning instructions that come with the pan).
Since cast iron is able to reach higher temperatures than non-stick cookware, it makes it a great choice to cook meat when cooking outside is not an option, just make sure to heat the pan for three or four minutes before using it.
If you're unfamiliar with cast iron cookware, follow the instructions that come with it and you'll enjoy a great pan for life. Just remember that it doesn't go into the dishwasher!
