  1. This loaf pan is just gorgeous. It is the size of a normal loaf pan so it is perfect for all your usual quick bread recipes, but the end result is so much more special because the pan molds the gorgeous lemon design onto the bottom (yes, serve the loaf bottom up.) This would be a lovely gift for a friend who bakes.

  2. I collect the Nordic Ware pans as I do a lot of baking and the NordicWare 58337 Platinum Collection Lemon Loaf pan is onne of my favorites. It makes perfect impressions on the cake, releases clean and washing it is a breeze.

  1. This item is not nine inches wide. It is the same width as the seven stick cornstick pan, but costs ten dollars more. So you are paying ten dollars to get two extra cornstick molds of the same size. Hopefully, the item description will be changed soon. Now, I have to pack up and ship back several of these, but at least Amazon is paying the freight. Lodge Logic is the greatest for cooking and baking though. I think this is just a random error. Just be sure and buy the seven stick pan for 7.99. The cornsticks will be the same size.

  2. First I'd like to say that Lodge Logic is the greatest. No seasoning, could it get any better? This is a great little pan that does a wonderful job at making perfect little cornbread sticks. I've done them in the oven, as well as over coals and they've turned out fine every time (first time they stuck and broke when I took them out, but the pan still cleaned fine). The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because it's not terribly practical. It'll only cook one small batch at a time (1 1/2 cups of cornmeal mix). However, if you want something really fun and different, this is it.

  1. This is an ideal pan for a large loaf of yeast bread. Bread browns nicely, and the slick surface releases the bread easily. I am delighted with this purchase!

  2. My husband and I bake 16 to 24 loaves of bread at one time about 2 times a month using Kaiser Bakeware. The bread bakes up beautifully and does not stick (even without greasing the pan before use). Clean up is quick and easy. It is highly recommended to hand wash and let completely dry before storing away.

  3. I've been soooo excited to receive this loaf pan. Well, it arrived today, and I was getting into bread-baking mode--and then I pulled it out of the box, and...UH, OH! It's not all that I'd hoped for. I expected a loaf pan that was a little longer than usual, which it is, one that was very sturdy and well made, and this one seems to be that as well. But...the bottom is not flat! I've never seen a bread pan with a bottom like this, so I'm thinking that I must have missed something. The box says "cake form" in German and "plum-cake mold" in French. The little recipe booklet that comes with it has Orange Cake and Plum Jam Cake recipes in it.

Because I now know what to look for, I noticed that in the large picture (click "see larger image"), you can barely tell that the bottom of the pan raises about 1cm a little bit from the edge of the pan. THEN, in the middle, the words KAISER 25cm 10" are stamped in. You don't see any of this in the picture on Amazon, or on the loaf pan's box, either. All I can think now is that for the unspeakable amount of money I paid for this pan, I'd better be getting a good loaf of bread out of this thing!!!

I'll add to or edit my review after I've baked bread in the pan, just so that any other bakers out there looking for a good-quality bread pan, as opposed to a loaf-shaped cake pan, will know what to expect. I anticipate the bottom of the loaf looking quite unusual with that large raised area, though...GRRRRRR!

  4. I love this loaf pan! The rounded corners make a lovely loaf and also make it easier to clean!

  1. I've been using this loaf pan since 2 weeks ago. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its long-term reliability, but I can say it's far and away the best loaf pan I've ever used. It bakes as well as glass but without the weight and the fragility. Everything has turned out perfectly so far, unlike with the cheaper non-stick pans.

  2. I've been using my Calphalon pan for over 2 years, as I bake bread weekly. I have had no issues with peeling, warping, or rusting. I also do not wash my pan in the dishwasher and would not recommend doing so.

  3. I'm done with non-stick. The coating on this pan has started peeling off, just as it did with Kaiser's and Chicago Metallic's non-stick. I'm going back to tinned steel. (My experience with cake pans, including springforms, has been the same.)

2 comments about Wilton Easy Flex Silicone 9 Inch by 5 Inch Loaf Pan.

  1. I got the Wilton set, with muffin pan, cake pan, loaf pan. The first time I used it, the smell from the oven was overwhelmingly sickening, very chemical. I thought it was because I hadn't washed it first. After washing, it was the same. As soon as it heats up in the oven, it starts to STINK. SO I did some searching on the internet - quickly found out that you really want silicone bakeware that is 100% silicone. Cheaper brands use plastic fillers which causes the odor during baking. Turns out you can tell easily by twisting a bit of the silicone - if it turns whitish, it's got plastic fillers. Pure silicone will retain it's color. The Wilton immediately turns whitish when twisted. The smell while it's hot is just nasty. I'll be returning these today - I may exchange for a higher quality and give silicone another chance. ALSO - note that silicone is NOT non-stick - it is stick resistant but the manufacturers all still recommend greasing. Wilton says it clearly on their website.

  2. I bake a loaf of bread generally every week, and this is the first loaf pan I reach for. It is especially flexible, more so than some other brands I have picked up in stores, but this is not really a bad thing. Just keep in mind that a lot of the time your loaf of bread will want to expand in the oven, and with this loaf pan that means it will expand somewhat to the sides as well. Personally I like how this works, I end up with a loaf of bread that rounds outwards on the sides, kind of like a cylinder.

It is very much nonstick and releasing your baked goods is no problem, plus it goes from oven temperature to room temperature in a snap which makes for easy handling, and cleanup is a snap. Overall this is highly recommended.
