  1. I find it very difficult to lock both the processor and the blender into place.

  2. I love the mini processer. The glass blender is very heavy and the base is heavy and difficult for arthritic hands. However, the power and stability are very good. Wish they had contored it for easier grip.

  3. The blender had a nice look about it and I liked the extras that came with it. And it was here in no time after I had ordered it. Virginia

  4. The blender was a Christmas gift for my son. He loves to cook, but lacked some of the essential tools for some of the dishes he wished to create. The blender/food processor has opened a whole new world for him.
He is delighted with this product's performance and rates it a solid 5! Thank you!!

  5. I got this thing last year at this time and have only used it a few times for fruit smoothies. The frozen fruit must have been too much for it! The turning spindal sheered off. It's only plastic under the steal post.

  1. I bought this liquefier in the Amazon, but unfortunately it burned, then asked for support to the Hamilton Beach, but I am Brazilian consumer, they are not imported, and the product is still in warranty, and why each and every product that is that I never mark I will buy.

  2. I was at a party when the hostess used this machine to make drinks. I was so impressed I looked it up online & ordered one for myself. A week later I purchased a 2nd one & had it sent to my sister for her birthday. We both love this blender & recommend it to everyone. It's powerful, quick, works great & is easy to clean. Yvonne

  3. I love this blender. Its hard to find one that actually chops and blends frozen fruit such as strawberries, mangoes and peaches. Its done a terrific job!!

  4. It works great. I use it regularly to make shakes, and it does the job perfectly. Though if you want to use that 1-click dispenser, cleaning is a bit difficult.

  5. I bought this for my daughter and 4 kids as a health aid. they just love it,and use it every day.And what a great price. It beats my 99.95 bleander.of cource all items Amazon.com are a bargain. Thanks a Million.

  1. Definitely Kitchen Aid quality. It is by far the best blender I have ever used. Mainly used for drinks and smoothies . . . they are done to perfection in a matter of seconds! It sits on the counter (not in the pantry) as I use it a lot and the design looks great!

  2. I have been drinking protein shakes/smoothies regularly for lunch for about 10 years. I use frozen fruit for my drinks. As a result, I was ready to start a graveyard of failed blenders. I finally decided to step up and find a quality machine to replace the endless parade of underperformers. After reading many product reviews of this and other products, I opted for the Kitchen Aid Pro Line. It's been over a month of blender bliss for me since it arrived. No more groaning motors, leaky gaskets or lumpy drinks. It's quick, it's very serious and it performs. The one piece assembly is no trouble to clean and I believe will contribute to durability. I finally had to write a review when I made a creamed vegetable soup. It was the silkiest smoothest soup I have ever produced. I finally understood how fine restaurants achieve the quality.

  3. I bought this to surprise my wife with a better blender. The old common one was continuously leaking. This one looks cool, runs reasonably quiet (quieter than expected), and is fast (really quick) and powerful. We love how it grates hard cheese, like Romano (but that is noisy, like crushing ice).

The base is easy to wipe clean. The container usually cleans up easily, except for the peanut butter in the breakfast smoothies (what can you expect).

Even the recipes in the manual are good. Love those oatmeal/raisin pancakes.

    The wife is happy!

  4. Totally disappointed with KitchenAid's quality assurance - My blender came DOA, it will not switch on. I bought this blender for my wife's birthday, it did not work for the first time she tried to use it. I went through the entire operation and troubleshooting sections of the owner's manual without success. It just will not switch on. So much for the best KitchenAid blender.

  5. I knew that our old blender would soon be going into retirement so I had been looking for a replacement for some time. I must admit that I had not intended to pay so much for "just a blender" - this is anything BUT just a blender. The motor is what finally sold me as we needed one that could chop ice up without leaving 'chips'. This one chops ice into perfect shavings, almost slush without being watery. This machine makes the best smoothies that we have ever had. They are so creamy, it's almost like eating ice cream when you make them thick. YUMMY!!! Not one teensy ice chip ever enters my mouth...just smooth and creamy. Plus, we have noticed that this one does such a good job of sucking the mixture up and then down into the center which mixes it perfectly. Our old one seemed to only mix well what was down at the bottom where the blades are. This up-and-over action blends everything so that nothing is missed or shows up without being blended when pouring into your glass.

Yes, the motor is loud, but it takes mere seconds to whip up whatever is your choosing so how long is it actually running?! I like the fact that the pitcher and its base are an all-in-one; no need to worry about gaskets, or rings, molding and going bad, needing replaced. As the instructions state, just put a couple of drops of dishwashing soap into the canister after using, add about a half-pitcher of warm water and turn it on low for several seconds and it cleans itself. Rinse, dry - it's really easy to reach down to the bottom where the blades are and dry without fear of being cut - and you're ready to go again. I keep ours on the counter top because we use it so much. It's attractive sitting out and goes with any kitchen decor.

It's definitely worth the money and we have been very happy with our purchase.

  1. I love making things with blenders, but I absolute hate the clean-up (especially since I usually make single servings). This makes it incredibly easy to make a single serving to go, with a very quick cleanup. The cup is probably a little larger than I need, but it's very secure and not messy. Highly recommended if your needs are like mine (quick, easy, convenient).

  2. I used a blender stick for a few years to make my daily smoothie but when it died, I was reticent to pay the hefty price for another one just to kill it, too. Besides, the containers with it were not deep enough and I'd spill just about every one.

There's a little adaptation to this machine because of inverting the container - I had to build ingredients "backwards" to avoid some things sticking to the bottom (top, when on the blender) and not mixing in. I use crushed ice, which also might help blending and longevity. I purchased the spare "travel mugs" so one will always be clean without hand-washing. The mug can definitely go in the dishwasher, but NOT the blending top. I did it once and the seal came out. It's small enough that it could have been ripped up by the dishwasher and it was a little tough to get back in. It cleans up well under the tap.

The base does seem cheap and plastic, and I recognized the "hot plastic" smell some others have mentioned. So far, none of this seems to affect performance. For the price, it can last 6 months to a year and still be worth it. Even nicer would be the option of purchasing just the base, since it seems likely to wear out before the mugs.

  3. For the price, I really have no room for complaint, but after 2 years of hard use (3-4 times a week) I awoke yesterday to finding little plastic chips on the blender stand and a high whine when I tried to use it. The plastic teeth that mesh with the plastic motor had worn off. I'm deciding now if I want to spend the money on a full replacement (since they do not sell the bladed lids separately) or try another brand.

  4. I use this excusively to mix diet shakes for breakfast and lunch. I don't think I would have stuck with the diet without this blender. It is simple to use, just the right size for one shake, and quick to clean. Grinds two ice cubes with no problem. Have not pushed it beyond that.

  5. After using the machine a couple dozen times, it started making a lot of (extra) noise and smelled of burning wire insulation. Back to Basics has farmed out their warranty repairs, and that company, Focus Electric of West Bend, WI, informed me they are backed up with work (no response to their receipt of the item two weeks ago).

  1. I purchased this hand blender for my wife last Christmas, 2007. She has used it regularly with good results. However, today the gears in the main body broke and a new one can be purchased for around $25 plus shipping, so in the $35 range. The main body is on backorder, which is not a surprise since many others must be experiencing the same trouble.

Her previous hand blender was purchased at Walmart for $25 and never had a problem. She gave it to our daughter this summer since she had an extra blender.

We like the stainless look but wish the insides were a little more sturdy. My wife will be purchasing her next blender at Walmart for about half the money and it won't be a Cuisinart unit.

    Brad

  2. I have used several types of hand held blenders and this one is my favorite. It has lots of power, good for deep immersion, and can be easily cleaned since it is stainless steel.

  3. I bought this immersion blender when I went to take an extended holiday at my parents house and wanted to make some blended soups. The cuisinart is an upgrade from the simple one I have back at home, but it's only $10-15 more expensive. (The Amazon listing currently has it at about $38.)

Its powerful motor blends quickly and effectively. The leek and potato vichyssoise I was making was so smooth, it was as if I put it through a strainer. And, of course, b/c it's an immersion blender, there were no additional containers to wash up (a blender cup, a strainer, or cheesecloth), since you put the blender straight into the pot to blend. Also, for those of you who've never used one before, the blade is effectively separated from the bottom of the blender, so you don't get scratching on your pots.

A big change of the cuisinart over my immersion blender at home is also the fact that its bottom is made of stainless steel instead of plastic. Sure, the plastic will save you a few bucks, but if you're like me and are a little impatient waiting for your pot of soup to cool down completely before blending it, then who knows what sort of chemicals are released when you heat up the plastic right in your food. Recent studies have shown that plasticides aren't so great when heated up against food and I have a feeling that the trend is simply going to increase as more studies are done. So it's nice that this is just one extra thing of plastic that I don't have to put in my food.

Of course, there are the bonus pieces. It comes with a mixing bowl, a whisk attachment (which I admit I haven't used yet), and a chopper attachment. The chopper works similar to a food processor, but it's not going to replace a large food processor any day. First, you have to cut your vegetables pretty small in order to even get it into there. Then, if you actually want it to work, you realize that you have to cut the pieces even smaller. So, after cutting my potatoes into cubes, I was able to use the chopper attachment to finely cut it into mush. But you're not going to get small cuts with the chopper attachment. Either you have the mush, or you're going to have large chunks of vegetables with a little mush that's been shaved off the chunks. But again, it's a great tool if you need to cut broccoli, potatoes, or other veggies into your soups or casseroles, and need it cut finely but not quite liquify it.

All in all, it's a great buy and highly recommended.

  1. I bought 2,one for my mom,the product is awesome for the price of 18. LOVE IT

  2. This is the best blender I've used. I am so glad I bought one. It is perfect for making summer drinks.
It does what it says. No ice chunks. And that's the truth. You don't have to add an extraordinary amount of water or juice to get rid of ice chunks. I can make a smoothie and still have it thick enough without ice chunks. Other blenders I've used cannot do this. I'd either have to add so much water or juice that the end result is more of an icy juice, rather than a smoothie.
Clean-up on this blender is easy since the entire jar can be taken apart from the top to the bottom, including the portion that holds the blades. Very few other blender jars I've seen can do this. Every try to clean the bottom of a blender jar? You can't! This one, the bottom section comes off. Easy to clean.
It does not say in the product description that the jar is glass or plastic, but it is plastic. It doesn't make much of a difference to me. It still works the same. In this price range, it's not what the jar is made of. It's what the item is made to do. And that is to make a good smoothie. It does that perfectly. No ice chunks!

  3. Pros: Price, Options, Power, Blending Capabilities.
    Cons: Size, Hassle to Clean

I bought this to make shakes, smoothies and baby food. So far I have made a shake and a smoothie, but no baby food. I have been please with the power and capability... totally worth it. My only complaint is that it's a hassle to clean, but most blanders are. It's also larger than other blenders I have had, so that makes storage a small issue.

I have had this blender for a few weeks, and so far I am happy with it, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good blender at a reasonable price.

  4. This blender is awesome and wow can it put out the speed!!! I only wish I had gotten this blender sooner, we have made milk shakes for the kids, and smoothies for us and they have all turned out great. It is easy to clean and it takes up little room to store.

  5. Good Fun Blender, but it's a little on the light side. I think it needs to be heavier so that when you press the dispenser, it doesn't move. When it's full, there isn't much of a problem, but when it's almost empty, you can move the blender without meaning to.

I paid $30 and I'm happy with it. If I had paid $60, I would have returned it.

1 comments about Hamilton Beach 54615 Wavestation Express Dispensing Blender with 48-Ounce Jar, Black.

  1. I purchased this blender about a year ago from Wal-Mart. I've had a number of blenders over the past 30+ years but always ended up giving them away because I seldom if ever used them -- too much bother -- and have this thing about getting rid of unused stuff but finding yet another excuse why I "need" to buy another blender. I got it strictly for smoothies. My sister convinced me they were good for me, but I wasn't about to pay $3-4 a pop for one smoothie. I was going to do all the research but saw this blender in Wal-Mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time. I thought the spout thingee was neat, but I was really blown away by the 500 watts on this thing. I figured how bad could it be with 500 watts. If it blew out after recouping the price of 4-5 smoothies, it would be a fair tradeoff in my view. I'm not a technical person but after comparing the wattage of this one with the others on display, I thought what have I got to lose?

It's plastic, very lightweight and easy to move around. That works for me. Soooo easy to clean and disassemble when doing a thorough clean. Immediately after use I rinse it, fill it less than half full with hot water and a drop of liquid detergent, hold the lid down and give it a couple of whirls on pulse. Take it off and shake it around to get the top clean, then rinse again and make sure I open the spout to let it drain. If you don't clean it right away, you'll have to scrub it clean. You can disengage the spout and attach it to the bottom of the base, replacing it with the screw cap (also at the bottom of base) if you don't want to use the spout. My smoothies are so thick now I just pour it out.

The first few times I used it, I smelled burning rubber but I do push this thing as far as filling it with ice and whatever else I want and doing it as quickly as I can, using the setting that gives me the quickest results, be that pulse or smoothie or whatever. Again, I like this blender so much I figure I'll replace it with the same if I blow it and it's not under warranty. So far, so good. I don't know what the warranty is -- it's probably expired.

No more burning rubber even though I still fill it with ice and a mixture of everything. I'm reading "Green for Life" so I've added greens, celery, carrots and other vegetables, chia seed gel, flax seed, a little honey, etc., to my juice and fruit mixtures, both frozen banana and other fresh and frozen fruit, all of these things at the same time. DELICIOUS! My husband didn't like the vegetables added at first but now he really looks forward to them, which is just about every day or every other day now. The blender works like a charm. It doesn't pulverize the greens (spinach or romaine lettuce)100%. There's a small amount of greens that doesn't get chopped up - but very minute bits that aren't that noticeable and not worth the price for a higher-priced, "better" blender, as none of them get 5-star reviews anyway and mine works well enough to suit my needs. No problem whatsoever with ice. It has only bogged down on me once, but I just turned it off and nudged it around with wooden spoon and it's been good to go. Now, if I can remember, I put the ice cubes in after the juice, which is first. Sometimes I put them in last.

I'm not that easy to please, but I'm very satisfied with this blender. It's still a pleasure to use. I'm sending one to my son for his bday.

  1. Great blender, simple and sturdy. I bought this one after my daughter dropped a spoon into the first one and killed it! Very fast shipping also.

  2. I give it a 5 star on design -- I like the smaller 5-cup size (not too heavy), the sleek look, the simple on/off switch, and it's simple to clean. However I give it a zero rating on noise level. It is way too loud, I really wish I hadn't purchased it due to this.

  3. I've had this beehive blender for about 4 years now, and make smoothies with 10-12 ice cubes every few days. Never a hitch until recently, when I cranked it up with ice packed into the blades. (This is a dumb thing to do, but I'd done it dozens of times before and got away with it). A buzz, flash, pop, and this great blender died.

Well, my point in writing this is that the "dead motor" problem is easy to fix. Unscrew the bottom, and you'll find a fuse. Get a replacement fuse at Radio Shack. You have to snip the old wires and solder in the new fuse, but then (at least in my case) it's as good as new.

So, my only suggestion for this great blender is to add a fuse holder accessible on the bottom that doesn't require disassembly or soldering.

Then again, the fuse won't come into play if you put the ice on top of softer ingredients or liquid when you blend.

If/when this blender really dies I will consider it money well spent and get another one. METAL GEARS, need I say more?

  4. Family all the members bought this blender, and became happy.

Tens of times more made in Japan used so far of juice using ice can also be done easily powerfully.

It has a slightly small capacity and it's felt, but you can break apart easily, so the maintenance is also easy and it's easy to use. (A tooth is very sharp, so, attention is necessary for handling.) I'd like to recommend everyone by all means.

  5. I bought this Oster after reading the reviews here and in Consumer Reports. No blender seemed to be a clear winner on all counts. Nonetheless, I like everything about this one, except the noise.

Rather than repeating what others have said, I'll simply add how I deal with the excessive noise this blender makes. I put something sound-dampening between the bottom of the blender and the countertop. A folded tea towel, a square cut from a rubber mat etc. What I use is not so high that it even touches the bottom of the blender. Still, I was concerned that this might make the blender overheat, and so I watched closely. But there has been no problem whatsoever. The key is to have something between the blender and the hard, sound-reflective surface of the countertop. It makes a significant difference in decibels.
