- I just bought this blender last night and decided to look up reviews before using it. I usually research before buying, this time I didn't. Your reviews changed my mind, I'm taking it back to target. Thank You!
- I bought this a few months ago to make homemade baby food for my infant son. While it did do the job intended (granted, it was only used on well-cooked veggies, so it didn't meet much resistance), I had a couple of problems with it.
First, you had to constantly hold the button down to keep the blender on (there is no locked on position). After pureeing veggies for about a minute, my hand would begin to cramp.
Second, after washing the removable blade attachment, the attachment began to rust on the inside, and would "leak" rust into whatever I was blending.
You definitely get what you pay for with this item. There were several other more expensive hand blenders available, but I chose this cheaper model because I'd never used one before and wasn't sure it was going to do what I needed it to do. Now that I know a hand blender is so useful, I'm going to invest in a much higher quality brand.
- I purchased this blender, used it once, and it broke around the housing that holds the metal rod. I returned it, thinking it was a fluke, and the second one did the same thing after the 2nd use! It's not like I was mixing concrete, I was just mixing a cream soup. Do not buy this machine. I have contacted Oster and demanded that they send me a new one, because I'm not driving all over town to replace this every single month. I am very disappointed. I will not buy another Oster. I would give it negative stars if I could.
- Guess the old saying you get what you pay for applies here. I purchased this for under 15.00- The hand unit worked well with smoothies though the liquid always SPLASHED up and out of the beaker making a mess. After the first week the blender began to shake and make such loud noises that it cracked the plastic beaker! Now it sounds like it is grinding bolts. Will not purchase this brand again.
- I bought this blender because the only other option was the KitchenAid immersion blender that cost $49. To me, that seemed like a lot to pay for such a small piece of equipment. I didn't even pay that much for my hand mixer. However, I quickly learned that in the world of immersion blenders, you get what you pay for. This Oster blender was used maybe 8 times. It didn't work well out of the box, but after only 8 times using it it no longer worked at all. I just went out and spent the $49 to buy the KitchenAid immersion blender, after having wasted $20 on the Oster blender. Don't make the same mistake I did. I've now spent a total of $69 on immersion blenders when I could have only spent $49 to begin with.

- I bought this nearly two years ago through amazon as a refurbished unit. This was after having two lesser models where the drive mechanism on the bottom simply melted. I found this and didnt think there was really anything to lose.
When I ordered it I received it in a very timely manner, and you wouldn't even know that it was refurbished. It has lasted me well. I have thrown everything from mixed drinks, smoothies, crushing ice, making gazpacho, even bread crumbs- and it has handled everything gracefully and with ease.
I love the fact that this is not a huge capacity, but has more than enough. I also like the fact that the lid on this is slightly flexible and acts almost like a gasket more than a lid. There is also the fact that the buttons that control it are smooth surface so they wipe off easily.
One thing. My husband dropped the jar on in and smashed it to bits. With alot of other ones this would have resulted in trashing the whole thing and getting a new one because it would be hopeless to try to find parts. So at midnight in a saturday I was right back here on amazon and ordered a replacement jar. I know that if anything breaks other than the actual motor, I can get it replaced without having to buy a whole new unit. Love it!
This was the first item I ever bought by kitchenaid, and I have not been disappointed.
I'd recommend refurbished if you can find it- it's a great value for the same quality.
- This blender is great when its working! the coupler(the rubber thing which spins the blade) started to wear out and now its completely torn and can't run the blades!
I called the CS and they say I need to order from a service center which is 100miles away from where I live...
My oster blender which I paid $15 is working from 9 years! but this one broke with in 2yrs.
- This blender is very powerful and excactly like advertised. I really like it and use it alot. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
- Love the Kitchen Aid blender. Arrived promptly & works great!
Enjoying the nice bright red color also.
- I should have listened to the other one-star reviews. Yep, the rubber coupling began to break off (the rubber teeth on the base of the blender that the top rests on--the part the turns the blades in the top). The rest of the blender is in great condition. Very sad. We'll be buying a different blender. (We use this for making frozen fruit smoothies 5-6 days per week.) Poor internal design.

- Bought this blender to replace a leaky burned out Krups piece of junk. This blender makes excellent smoothies in 1/2 the time. The wave action is awesome. You have never seen a blender act in this manner. Very innovative design. The blue light is also an excellent touch.
Biggest issue is that after 3 weeks of daily use this blender is dead. It lights up and beeps, but no blending action. Looks like the product reliability and quality is lackiing. I'm returning it back to the store for my money back.
- This blender works great for smoothies. It chops up ice nicely. I have put a half cup size piece of ice (shame on me) in and it chops it up with no problems. The canister is thick glass and heavy duty. The blade mechanism will not rust. The neon blue light is a cool attribute. The silver piece the canister screws into is plastic and I wouldn't consider that too heavy duty. The pulse option is great with the ice. This is a very capable blender.
- I use this blender every day and just love it. The smoothies I make come out perfect and no matter what I add to it the blender proves itself over and over. The blue light on the bottom looks classy on the counter. Easy to clean and the blender is well made and I am sure will hold up for years to come.

- This product is great because it is so flexible! Whatever you need to do, it does. I had an old one that we wore out and when it came time to et a new one, I bought the same product. This one is even better designed than the earlier version, and I just love it!

- Chops ice good. Does a good job making Smoothie's. A bit
noisy. Good price / value.
- I'm very please with this little blender. Holds quite a bit and was powerful enough to handle hard, frozen fruit. Haven't tried ice yet but I know it will do great. It blends quickly and the dispenser actually works great! It's made of plastic so may crack if handled too rough, but overall I'm extremely pleased. Does exactly what it's supposed to.
- I got this smoothie maker several years ago for my husband. It does work okay, but this is the loudest little blender ever! It's a bit difficult to clean, too, especially the spout. After many, many smoothies, the poor little thing is having problems. I'd get another one except for the noise factor.

- This blender jar is lightweight and has an extra cup of volume compared with the glass one that it's replacing. I love it!
One thing, though, is that the picture doesn't reflect the actual product - it's just the jar, no cover is included. For me, that wasn't a problem because I still have the top from the glass jar it's replacing. But if you're in the market for a jar with a top, you'll have to buy the top separately.
