- I bought this to replace a dying 7 year old Oster blender that didn't even see much use. I use this new blender a few times a week to make smoothies and less frequently for food processing.
I like that this blender is more powerful and has a larger capacity than my old blender. It is attractive and solidly made. I've only had it for a couple of months, but I haven't had the problem with ice that others report. Then again, I use more frozen fruit than ice in my smoothies. My favorite part of this machine is the stir stick. I don't know how I ever got along without one.
My main gripe with this blender is that the smoothie dispenser is more hassle than it's worth. When I start to dispense, there's always a bit of liquid that comes out first that I have to pour it back in. Sometimes the smoothie is too thick and it just doesn't come out, even when I turn the blender on low while dispensing. When I'm done dispensing, it always drips a little on the counter. The dispenser also a bit of a pain to clean as there are five parts to it.
So if you are looking for a good blender, I say go for it. If you are looking to be wowed by a smoothie dispensing dream machine, you might not be as impressed.
- I stumbled into this blender while looking for parts to repair my Kitchen Aid. I was able to buy this for less than the repair parts on the KitchenAid! Could not believe my luck in finding this. Smoothie attachment is a stroke of genius; works great so you avoid having to remove the bowl to pour. Totally pleased and you will be too
- Buy it, try it, you'll love it. We make smoothies in the summer, creamy thick soups and curries in the winter, and this blender purees everything with ease. Love it.
- This really grinds the ice to fine crystals and I love the stirrer. I don't have to stop the machinie, take off the lid, stir the product , put the lid back on etc. I just stir while it is going! I use a lot of ice with my smoothies and this blender creates the perfect consistency. Very happy!
- Had this blender for 3 months and the motor died on me. I was having problems that others were having with the blades getting stuck on ice cubes and not turning.

- I've been using this to mix up various Cytomax protein products, and it works great. If you've been mixing using a glass and spoon, you'll be amazed at how improved your supplement is after a shake in this bottle. :-)
I've had it for around two months, using it in the morning and afternoon on most days. It's held up well, remains easy to clean, and hasn't developed any leaks.
- Service and shipment fast. These are the best blender bottles out there, and this is a wonderful size to take to work.
- My wife and I ordered this product because we thought we were getting a good deal. We thought we were getting, like the picture showed, 5 shakers. Instead, we got 1 and it was pink. So we paid $6.95 and another $6.13 for shipping for one shaker! We thought we were buying a cheap set, which in turn didn't get us what we needed (4-5 shakes for the two of us, and got railroaded on the price.
The picture on this item needs to be updated so others are not dupped.
- This bottle blends very well, it never leaves any clumps. However, whenever i tighten the lid i try to make sure its tight, so there is no spillage. But after time, the lid splits around the parameter, which causes the bottle to leak out of the lid. This has happened to two of my bottles so far.
- This is not a blender replacement, but if you're looking for something to mix shakes without waking up your family in the morning. This is excellent! The mixing ball works really well and it's much easier to clean than mixing cups with plastic 'strainer' mixers. And if you're worried, but ball is "springy" so it's quite easy to flatten it for cleaning. I use it in the mornings for protein shakes and it does a great job. It may leave a few little clumps, but it still works much better than other bottles I've used. I doubt any shaker bottle will ever work as good as a blender, but this one seems better than most. Also, the seal and threads on these (I got two of them) are solid. I haven't seen any signs of leaking and you'd have to work to cross-thread them.

- I've had this blender about 10 years. The new replacement fits perfectly and works great!
- Needed replacement of glass jar for old, slightly warped clover-top Oster blender. This replacement works great, fits very snugly at the top, and screws tight at the bottom. Product was new, clean, and packaged well. The only minor gripe I have is that the base doesn't quite fit perfectly so it's a bit tight and minimally tilted. This does not affect it's function at all.

- I concur with the other bad reviews here. It can be used as a stirrer (but then again, so can a spoon and that's a bit cheaper), but beyond that, it can't actually blend anything--the blades just carve out a spot at the bottom and whir around while the food sits on top motionless (unless you spend 20 minutes shoving the food down and stirring and adjusting, etc.) And ever since the first use, I've smelled a burning motor smell every time I use it. The lack of a decent pour spout assures major spillage at every pour. Who makes a blender without a pour spout? Save your money and please don't buy this. Cuisinart should do a recall and the reason should be "atrocious design."
- I got mine and it didn't even turn on! I wish you could put - stars
- Had this blender for a few years. NOT heavily used. I had the same problem as others- plastic wheel under the cutting assembly (that screws onto bottom of the blender jar and spins the blade) now spins freely...
Cuisinart makes you buy a whole new cutting assembly ($15). (If you have one you're tossing out, please let me know ;)
Obviously, this was a poor design/quality choice by Cuisinart. They should stick to food processors...
- I probably have used this blender 6 or 7 times. I wanted to make a smoothie for breakfast this morning and it broke. I was very surprised and disappointed. Yes, it is the same part that everyone else seems to have a problem with, the clutch assembly, cracked while trying to chop frozen berries. I thought about getting a replacement clutch assembly but since reading these reviews I don't think I will bother. I guess I will just get a different blender altogether.
- Black plastic, blade assembly cracked. Bad design. Looks good, blends good, crushes ice good, finally breaks for good. Spend your money on something different

5 comments about Waring HPB300 MegaMix Commercial Blender, Brushed Steel.
- The Mega Mix was impossible to find in retail stores and it is the most powerful for heavy fruit smoothies and such. I wish it had a retractable cord to take up less counter space; also the base feet are never quite level causing it to teeter a litte. Despite those things, if you want the best blender for power and one you'll probably never throw out, this is it.
- I have had this blender around 3 years. My wife and I use it primarily for soups, smoothies, and crushing ice. It is used at least once per week and we consider it a necessary part of the kitchen. It was my 4th blender and the first one I was happy with. The first three broke down during crushing ice. I had seen several smoothie shops were using this model or the very similar Waring "Margarita Madness?" model, which was available before they released this model to the home market.
It is everything you would expect in a commercial/home crossover model. This device is LOUD. You can not carry on a conversation when blending, however, it is fast. It will produce an ice based smoothie that is smooth with no ice chunks quickly, which is where most blenders fail. It is robustly constructed with a SS housing.
Several people have added reviews complaining about the container being plastic, too fragile, or poor quality. It should be plastic or metal and not glass. Commercial blenders almost never use glass because it is too heavy and fragile. I do not miss glass at all. It is not a cheap plastic. It looks like a heavy polycarbonate and it holds up well to abuse including dropping and banging it into things. The replacement is $50 so it is a little pricey.
After about 2 years the first container started to leak around the seal in the base and I replaced it. Previously my wife washed it in the dishwasher but now we just put some water in the container and a drop of dishwashing liquid and "blend" for 30 seconds until clean, and then rinse it out.
Because of the shape of the container, it blends liquids very well but if the liquid to ice ratio falls too low it has a tendency to stop blending and the blades just spin in the bottom. This is a problem with blenders in general but I find it is slightly aggravated by the design here. Starting with the liquids and adding ice from the top until the desired consistency is reached usually works around this issue.
If you routinely have tasks that require a blender then you want to use one that does the job. Way too many blenders are wedding presents that sit on a shelf so I do not think performance is always much of an issue. I would recommend this blender.
Waring now makes a 3Hp model also which is probably effective and I like the VitaMix device also. Those are both significantly more expensive than this model.
- I got this blender to crush ice, and it does that easily. It is good looking and very high powered, but it is also very noisy, and unpleasant to use. When I turn it on, the lights dim, and even with only water in the carafe it is extremely loud. The motor also emits an unpleasant odor with even the lightest use. Overall the blender is sturdy and powerful, it's just no fun to use. I don't feel comfortable using it in the morning for fear of waking up everyone in the building.
I like the plastic carafe, since it seems pretty indestructible, I've dropped it on the ground and into the porcelain sink with no visible damage to it.
- My blender is about 20 years old so it is a little different from the ones in the pictures. The only major difference is the new ones have a better connection system between the motor and the blade. Mine was sold as a commercial bar blender and uses the old style carafe
The real reason I am writing this is one reviewer said their carafe was leaking. I solved that problem years ago by buying a SS carafe made for use in Labs. I bought mine from a medical supply vender. You can also find them on eBay.
I use my blender every day. It's strong points are it's very durable. It's weak point is crushing ice. To keep the blade from cavitating you have to add to much liquid. This is a function of the shape of the carafe. The round glass one made for bars, does not have this problem but, it takes longer to mix proten shakes.
I give 5 stars aveage. That is 6 stars for durability and 4 starts for function.
- The lid on this product doesn't fit the pitcher. I thought it was b/c the product was new and it had to be broken in but I've been using it and it's still too tight - I have to struggle to put the lid on. No other issues with the product but it's a bit annoying to struggle to palce the lid on everytime I try to use it.

5 comments about Cuisinart Duet Combination Food Processor/Blender.
- I bought a reconditioned version of this blender from another online site. It turned out I didn't need to use the blender for most of the summer and the warranty period expired on the reconditioned product. Of course right after that, I had to use the blender. It worked ok for a bit but soon pretty much became worthless. When it did work, it did a poor job of mixing the stuff I put into the blender and the food processor wasn't all that great either. Avoid Cuisinart.
- I have used many food processors before, I do not use them harshly, I was even able to use my very cheap first mini processor for 3 years. Yet, this is by far the worst I had.
Pros: 1.Very powerful machine that this strength cause trouble for you.
2. Being able to use a 2-in-1 machine
3. Several buttons for different tasks
Cons: 1. The machine parts, although supposedly strong and appropriate for dishwasher, is not safe to put in at all. The food processor's clear plastic bowl melted in the first wash and have taken an oval shape in the dishwasher, and I do not even use heated dry. I had to squeeze it to fit the lid on it for each time I use it.
2. Extremely loud. My son can never stay asleep upstairs once I start it, pretty similar to a strong vacuum cleaner in noise level.
3. Machine is so powerful, so when you actually process food, which it is supposed to do well, you have to hold on the machine very tight with both hands, otherwise, the machine can fly (I mean literally) especially if you are processing hard food such as dry bread, onions, or nuts, or trying to make dips.
4. That typical burning smell that all cuisinart processors that I used have. It begins after 5-6 seconds you start.
Just beware and if possible, choose another one.
- Cuisinart BFP-703 SmartPower Duet Blender/Food Processor, White
A fine idea, Poor execution! Mine lasted three months. It failed while under warranty. I called Cuisinart, there solution? I should pack it, pay to ship it, and include $10.00 for them to mail it back, after they fixed it. And they offered no warrenty about the repair.
No "we are sorry that our $80.00 item is in fact an expensive paper weight designed to break." Instead, they feel that I should pay more than 20% of the original cost to get them to maybe fix it right. Stay away from this product and this company.
- We've had it for a little while now. We've made smoothies and used the cuisinart blades to chop veggies. The blades are super sharp so be careful! The time savings by using this unit versus chopping by hand can be somewhat diminished because you then have to spend time cleaning the unit. However, when doing large quantities of chopping, it's very useful. When using the product as a blender, it seems to perform just as well as any other blender we've owned. We still experienced the smell of the motor as we were trying to get all those chunks of frozen fruit blended. It's definitely not a powerhouse such as the type they have a Jamba Juice but it will work fine for our occasional smoothie making times.
All in all, it's a decent product for the price paid.
- Again RED to match my decor, perfect. But the functions of this blender/processor are unlimited. I love it.
