5 comments about Oster BPST02-B Professional Series Blender, Black.
- I read the reviews before purchasing and I'm glad I did because this a true professional blender, just like the bartenders use.
So far, I've made hurricanes, mai tais, pina coladas, and margaritas and the crowd was thrilled and so was I. The ice was perfectly crushed (I used bagged and also my countertop Haier HPIM35W Portable/countertop Ice Maker, which I recommend. I do not recommend using that half moon kind that my refrigerator makes, but that kind will do better if you let the ice sit out for 10-15 minutes to soften a bit.
Does what it states, but better than the rest with an all-metal drive and super sharp blades! Bravo, Oster!
- Great blender for smoothies, Margaritas, etc. Seems very sturdy and relatively quiet. Good service from vendor as well. Plastic cap in the lid came with a slight crack. They sent me a new one right away.
- I looked at reviews of several other blenders before purchasing the Oster BPST02. It makes excellent smoothies. Making one or two servings is quick. The only problem we have had is mixing in additional ingredients to reach the blades when we make smoothies for 4-5 people. It has taken a little time to perfect our method but we have never had a bad or lumpy smoothy. Interestingly, our Oster Galaxie from the 1990s has the same base as this new one and the two are interchangable, but this new machine has a little more power.
- I purchased this blender after reading countless reviews on this and other blenders and this one came out on top consistently - and with good reason. I've had my blender for about 3 weeks and have been making frozen blended drinks and smoothies (everyday) with one or two batches of soup and salad dressing.
First, what works well are the blending blades, combined with high speed. I have no problem blending ice cubes so they are smooth. The instructions suggest adding liquid items first and then the ice, which I do and I haven't had a problem.
It's very easy to clean; as per the suggested instructions, after making smoothies I add warm water, a drop of dish detergent and blend it for a few seconds; rinse and you're finished. In between batches of different foods, i.e. smoothie/soup, I will wash the entire unit more thoroughly.
The 2 speeds (on/pulse) are perfect for everything the average person needs it for, personally I think any other blender that boasts 8-12 different speeds is simply an advertising gimick and completely unnecessary.
The unit is a great size and doesn't take much space on the counter. The base is narrow and comes in lots of great colors and finishes so you should find one that goes with the rest of your appliances.
For things that are left to be desired: the flimsy, plastic lid seems out of place on the rest of the well-manufactured unit. I don't like the middle plug on the lid. It's not very functional to add ingredients in mid-blend, nor would you want to. The unit blends at such high speeds I think it would be a mess if you attempted to open the plug.
And that brings me to my 2nd concern; it's great that it blends at such high speeds (without the high speed, it wouldn't do as great a job of crushing ice) but if the lid is not securely place and held on with your hand, it will spew the contents all over the place.
And the motor is loud but I can't fault the machine, it does such a good job of blending that it isn't on for very long.
- However very noisy, the blender sets out to to the job it is designed for; a fabulous smooth drink. The price tag is high, but the blender is all worth it. You will not be disappointed.

5 comments about Braun MX2050 PowerMax 525-Watt 58-Ounce Jug Blender.
- This is an excellent piece of equipment. It can whip up anything you desire! I highly recomment it!
- I make smoothies and protein shakes every morning and this blender is fantastic. I've only made soup once and didn't lock the clear plastic section of the top into the place, so some came out and splattered, but as long as I remember to lock it into place it's fine.
Great blender and I'm very happy with it.
- The Braun Power Max 2050 is rated a "Best Buy" by a leading consumer
publication. It also has gotten sterling reviews on Amazon. I needed
a larger blender, and the price was right. So -- I bought it.
Well, it does have a glass container, which makes for more hygienic blending than plastic. The container, though of very heavy glass, holds only 56 ounces, instead of the usual 64. This gives it a large-enough
capacity for most blending operations, but keeps the heavy glass container, (though still quite heavy), lighter in weight than it would be, if the container held the additional eight ounces! (The glass used is also quite good glass -- it has a "green tint", usually seen only in older mirrors!)
It is also, as other reviewers have said, very easy to take apart for cleaning. This is important, especially as the glass -- though lighter in weight than it would be, if the container held 64 ounces, instead of only 56 -- is still quite heavy. On my first few uses, (I made smoothies), in fact, I just rinsed it off with hot water....and got an "Ajax squeek", telling me it was as clean as clean could be! (Probably due to the superiour glass used.)
As the top of the container is square shaped, a pouring spout really isn't needed, because any of the four corners can serve as a pouring spout.
It would be a very good blender, a power-house blender, as most of the professional reviews which praise this blender, seem to indicate -- except for one thing. This is an AVERAGE power bender, NOT a power-house blender. In the instruction booklet, it mentions one should cut hard ingredients into small pieces before putting them in. (By the way, my blender did NOT come with an instruction booklet! I found one website, selling many blenders, which directed me to download the booklet. However, when I called Braun itself, they promised to send me a hard-copy instruction booklet, which is definitely a praiseworthy action.) It's a pity this is not the "power-blender" it is said to be, and that the power of the blender matched the courtesy level of Braun, sending me my missing booklet!
All in all, this is an adequate machine. Just don't look for it to blend difficult things, like cake batters or crush ice-cubes. For gourmet blending, you'll need a gourmet blender -- like the much more expensive Blend-Tec. This Braun is adequate for most blending operations...but adquate for lower-to-mid power needs, only. It's a "Braun" blender all right -- but, sadly, not too "brawny"!
- This is my first ever blender, but I've used another model before at a hotel. This one is so much quieter, and it did a good job making smoothies. Also, the jug is made of glass and very easy to clean. So far no problems.
- I really wanted to like this blender. Bought it in December '07. It does a great job making smoothies, but, as others have said, the plastic teeth connecting the blade to the drive are not built to last. I've already replaced the blade assembly twice (in 7 months ownership). Braun is willing enough to send the replacement part, but wouldn't it be better to fix the design flaw so they didn't have to? Once my 1 year warranty expires I will be replacing the unit.

- 400 watt--good power--shouldn't burn out. Quality modern white design. Beautiful. Would make a nice gift. Cord is long length. Comes with mount for wall--keeps your blender within easy reach. Manual advises not good for batters thicker than pancake batter. Comes with whip attachment--can beat 4 egg whites at a time. This package (there are others available with less attachments) comes with 2 chopping containers (large and small). Large one has a removable ice crusher attachment. Both containers have no-skid bases which are removeable to use for lids! Also comes with a measuring container with a lid--recipes/drinks/smoothies can be mixed directly in this. Altogether, you get4 blades--one on the immersion wand, one for the small chopper, one for the large chopper, and then the ice crusher blade. There are 12 speeds with an additional turbo speed for the ice crushing and power pulses. Most pieces go in dishwasher (not the motor or the white piece above the whip)--all else dishwasher safe. Love it. If you don't get this one, just be sure to get one with at least 400 watts power. But get this one--you'll love it.
- My purchase for this product was determined by the reviews on this site. The product is entirely a great buy and versatile blender. It can do many different speeds and strengths, entirely adjustable. The only thing I didn't like was the unsightly, weird, silly plastic wall holder for this appliance. It just a sleeve and some kind of loop to maybe hold the cord in?
It would be nice to have a holder that is a little more attractive for hanging on the kitchen wall as well as holding all the basic attachments that come with it. This is a good buy and I would definitely purchase another whenever a replacement might be needed.
- I honestly can't remember what I did before I bought this blender other than spend wayyyyyyyyy too much time using my food processor for soups, tomato sauce, etc. Now, it's so easy, so quick to use the hand blender and have the job done in literally two minutes. No more tranferring and having more bowl cleanups! It has so many functions that it's an "at hand" tool to be used almost daily.
- This is the second one of these that I've owned; I gave my first one to my youngest daughter who was making her own baby food for my gorgeous granddaughter! There is NOTHING about this product that I don't like -- NOTHING! I use the immersion blender attachment for soups and sauces; I use the whisk attachment almost daily for whipped cream for waffles and for omelettes; I use both of the mini-food-processor attachments for chopping nuts for waffles and pancakes and for fresh veggies for souffles and frittatas -- and I love all of them! I have given these as gifts to my oldest daughter (who's the Sous Chef for Curtis Stone, the "Take-Home Chef) and a couple of other dear friends who love to cook and spend tons of time in their kitchens! You'll love owning this, I promise!
- Best blender of this type I have had. Works much better than the smaller Braun blenders I have had.

- The delivery was really fast.
I was wondering, as the price is so low, if the product will be powerfull enough to deal with ice and hard things in general.
I used it only once, and I can say, so far so good!
It did reduce to a delicious smoothie a very big bag of frozen strawberries
which were kind of a compact block of ice...speed is really good and it's easily washable, even in the dishwasher!!
good deal!
- I've been using this blender daily for the past couple of weeks. It is very sturdy, a little noisy because of the big plastic base but still makes an excellent smoothie if you get the liquid to frozen fruit ratio correct (my problem not its).
- i received this blender today and it is worth every penny and i was surprised of the quality of it, one of the customers complained about too much plastic please it is solid.. very heavy buy this item you won't be sorry!
- The product has an attractive look. When I ordered this blender I wasn't sure about Factory Re-conditioned product, but it turned out to be as good as a new one! The negatives of this blender, the spout on the glass pitcher is too small, made it harder to pour drinks. Also, there's no cord storage as it mentioned.
- There is, effectively, no spout from which to pour; consequently, I am always making a mess, especially with thick liquid. The bottom blade assembly is poorly designed and has locked up on me twice from crushing ice and blending thick soup. Cuisinart sent me a replacement once, and then, reluctantly, a second time, warning me that this was the last time. Now another cheap plastic piece has broken and they won't replace it. Total piece of junk.

5 comments about Blender rubber gasket seal, fits Oster & Osterizer, 3 PACK..
- alternate title: blender pron
see also: drill breakfast
some would say "review replacement gaskets?" but then i would tell them "yeh, amazon keeps emailing me about it so i guess i better, also im waiting for pizza"
when you blow out yr blender motor, or if you dont have one, get a hex head bit from any hardware store, take in the blade to get a snug fit, put on drill (adjustable is preferred but not as fun) voila! gnarly blender.
also, really want to impress her? use mason jars instead of the played out pitcher
the gaskets work awesome
- There's not much that you can say about gaskets, accept that these are great quality for the price.
- The product was great...the shipping costs were a little excessive compared to what was really spent on shipping...
- Other sets include 2 rings for a slightly higher price. Those rings are made with a smoother material and are thicker and will withstand a lot of use and even abuse.
This 3 pack is made of a very cheap material. They work, but I don't expect them to last very long. I'd rather pay more for solid goods that don't feel cheap and will withstand some average use.
- Always good to have replacement blender gaskets on hand. This was a good
price and was delivered quickly.

5 comments about Cuisinart SPB-7BCH SmartPower 7-Speed Electronic Blender, Black Chrome.
- I received this as a wedding gift from a good friend, who purchased this off our wedding registry. I admit, I should have done more research on this particular blender before adding it to our registry, but we were in need of a blender, and since I have grown up with CuisinArt food processors, and own one of their food processors myself (which has worked great for almost 2 years), I had very high hopes for the blender...and yes, I was perhaps caught up a little in the misnomer that more expensive is automatically better, and my poor friend unfortunately purchased it at the full $110 retail price! Wow, did I make a mistake here! From day one, the blender gave us problems. Where to start? The buttons vibrate. Liquid on top just dosen't even move to the bottom. Crushing ice? Hah! I've seen ice crushed more coming out of the icemaker in our freezer when it lands in the ice bucket! The motor overheats very easily (like when I make one smoothie with lots of ice.) I had a Sunbeam blender with a plastic jar that I purchased for $20 from the Dollar Store when I was in college that had more horsepower than this. Stay away from this Cuisinart Blender at all costs...don't be fooled by the shiny package or the well-known name.
- I love the blender portion. It works great at crushing ice and other items. The food processor is another story. Works to chop up and blend items, but the motor noise alone has forced me to stop using it. With each use, the noise is louder and so irritating. I am extremely disappointed that I can't use the processor portion of it. As much as I love the blender, I can't recommend the purchase because you won't be able to use the processor without ear plugs.
- I am a huge smoothie addict. Love making them in the morning for breakfast and after a workout. So I was excited when I received this blender as a Christmas present. It looks beautiful and is from a great brand name. But I could hardly be more disappointed. The blender simply does not completely blend the frozen fruit I use to make my smoothies. No matter how much liquid I add, how long I run the blender, or what speed I run it at, there are always chunks of un-blended fruit waiting for me to bite. It doesn't work nearly as well as the cheap Oster blender I bought years ago at Walgreens (which finally burned out).
- This blender sucks! It does not work! Everything just sits there and I have to use a spoon every few seconds to mix it up. DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER! It will save you time and a headache you if buy a different one.
- This is by far the worst blender I have ever owned and also the most expensive. I use the blender everyday to make smoothies and this blender fails miserably on the simple task of blending bananas with milk. After 2 minutes of blending we can still find chuncks of bananas in the milk. It's also very loud. Don't waste your money.

5 comments about KitchenAid Blender Coupler Coupling 9704230.
- This part is an improvement over the 10 or so year old mixer couplers, but it still fails after a few years (but it did last longer than the original). My point is, order 2 or 3 as shipping for me was the same on 1 as it was on 3.
I agree, if you are careful, unplug the blender and you can jam the motor with a small screw driver and use a pair of adjustable pliers to take off the coupler. This is REVERSE threaded, clockwise to loosen.
I decided to fix my Miserable KitchenAid, after reading dozens of other blender reviews and finding them to be even worse. I believe this rubber coupling serves to make the blender quieter, so the design trade off is shorter life for quieter operation. The blender should really come with a tool and a replacement one of these since they are inexpensive.
- Excellent product. I was scared I'd break my Kitchen Aid so I didn't want to try and replace the part myself. However, the cost to fix it was almost as much as a new blender so I figured- if I was buying a new one anyway it wouldn't hurt to invest $6 to try and fix the old. It worked and it was EASY! They even send instructions. Seriously. If you are looking at this product, buy it. You won't regret it. In fact, buy two.
- Product shipped and packed nicely. Installation instructions included. I saved alot of money by purchasing the product from Amazon and installing the coupler myself.
- Like another reviewer said, just unplug the blender, use a long screwdriver to stop the motor from turning, and then unscrew the coupling (in the opposite direction than you normally would). Took about 5 minutes... just had to find the right place to put the screwdriver to stop the motor.
- This works great as a replacement for a part that was improperly designed in the first place. Kitchenaid should give these away for free to fix their poor design. Directions can be found on the internet but basically it just screws on in the reverse-screw direction - just as the old one screws off. Unplug the blender and use a long screwdriver through the bottom vents to keep the motor from spinning. It's tricky to do but it works.

5 comments about Cuisinart BFP-10CH PowerBlend Duet Blender and Food Processor, Chrome and Black.
- This product has been used multiple times and has exceeded expectations in both its ease of use and quality of product performance. i am quite satisfied as is my wife with it and recommend it to all.
- After the motor burned out making smoothies with our old Cuisinart blender we bought the Cuisinart PowerBlend 600 7-Speed to replace it. I was attracted by the 600-watt motor and 56 ounce capacity. I noticed the manual said on page 5:
"Note: Add liguid ingredients first, then follow with solid ingredients. This will provide more consistent blending and prevent unnecessary stress on the motor."
So I started with 2 cups of orange juice and two bananas, started on the stir speed and worked up to liquefy, then added 4 scoops of soy protein powder and then slowly added 1/2 bag of frozen fruit. Other than an electical smell, I thought all was well and figured the smell was due to light oil burning off on the motors first use. I then added a few ice cubes and the thing stopped dead! I turned it off, unplugged it, let it cool down for an hour but never could get the thing to work again. Apparently the motor burned out. Calling support was no help other than recommending I return it.
If you plan on filling any of the SPB-10 series blenders near the top to make smoothies for a family of four I'd look elsewhere. I don't think the motors can handle blending liquids with the consistency of a thick shake when filled near the top.
- Bought this unit because it was sleek looking and seemed to offer good value for the money. Save your money. With anything other than the lightest load, the motor let out a burning odor. And then it crapped out. I returned it and got another...it lasted slightly longer, but then the motor crapped out again.
- This thing crushes ice with no problems at all. We make smoothies for breakfast and we were sick of the blender getting bound up because of the ice, so I decided to buy this one and it works great!
- We just returned this item. It will not even blend ice or frozen fruit! Everything just sits there. We were stirring and stirring with a spoon trying to get our smoothies made. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM if you are wanting to blend ice drinks!

- The first thing you notice about this unit is that it's incredibly noisy. I mean "earplug" noisy, the kind of decibel level that makes it impossible to have a non-shouting conversation while it's on. It's also made mostly of plastic, which has already caused us to replace blades and the cover once. The unit disassembles okay and can be cleaned easily, but the unit is underpowered (or has a poor gear ratio) since it takes a long time to blend food items. Making hummus should not take four minutes at top decibels.
