4 comments about Martha Stewart Collection 6-Piece Multi-Color Melamine Bowl Set.
- When I ordered these bowls they were 19.99 I see they have gone up as of 10/7/08 , even so they are a good investment. The bowls are a good weight ( not your Nana's mixing bowl set ) , the colors are really pretty . They say they are dishwasher safe but I wouldn't , I don't want to damage them. They are also not microwave safe.
I would also not use them for storage they have Melmac in them which is the same toxin causing the babies in China to be come ill , I would over time wonder about long term food storage and leeching of the toxin. That said for mixing they should be fine , its not like your eating the toxin , all plastics etc have toxins in them you just don't eat them.
The only thing I dislike is how much each bowl can hold is not marked on the bowl , it is however on the box. My husband cut it out and we scanned it into the computer for safe keeping.
All in all I think this was a worthy purchase.
- These bowls are perfect and durable. The colors are bright and fun and there is a size for every need!
- These bowls are great. They are very sturdy for mixing things in them and they are pretty enough to set food out in them. They wash easily and I just love them.
- Well Martha and her 2,000 products scores big with me. I like the feel and weight of these bowls, they do not feel like your average department store prep bowls. The colours will work well in most kitchens, even the red is an opportunity to give you a bit of a bang. But I love the muted colours the most,
As I said they have enough weight so you are not afraid of them falling a part on you if you have to whip up some cream, by hand, in them. Also you can throw a fruit or vegetable salad in them and take them to the picnic table.
By the way do not forget to try Martha's small prep bowls. My daughter who is getting into this baking desert on Sunday is delighted with them.

5 comments about Mario Batali Dough Separator / Scraper.
- I have an old pastry/dough cutter which is metal and it is starting to rust and oxidize which makes me worry about using it. Some of the plastic ones don't cut cleanly and soft doughs stick to them. This one releases the dough and cuts cleanly. Plus I will never have to worry about oxidation again.
- This is an excellent product. It separates dough easily and is easy to clean. I'm very glad I bought it.
- LOVE this tool, can't be without it. Use it as a bench scraper when chopping for mis en place! Light weight, slightly flexible, angled to help guide the food into a cup or bowl or pan.
- Love this product and was thrilled to find it available at Amazon. It's called a dough separator but I use it to scrape veggies off my wooden cutting board. It's become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets.
- I actually purchased this item in plastic because it makes wonderful "block" when painting woodwork in my house. I simply place the scraper against the area that I don't want painted and it does the job. I know there are products in the hardware stores for this, but the scraper fits my hand better and works perfectly.

5 comments about Wilton Comfort Grip Cookie Press.
- I bought this cookie press for Christmas 2006, and have it used twice. It takes a bit of practice to get the cookies out right, but after the first one, it works well. I haven't had any parts break and clean-up was easy.
- I brought this item after I gave my Pampered Chef press to a family member. This product is so much easier to use. It's light, and easy to handle. I like it so much better than my previous press. It only takes one click to put out one cookie, whereas the other press required several clicks. I definitely recommend this product.
- Easy and fast! One click makes the perfect cookie. Easy to clean and just an all around great product! Sorry they didn't make one like this years ago. Now I can throw away all the old ones that don't work!
- Easy to use and compact. It gets the job done without any frills or extra components to deal with--or which can break!
- I love baking cookies. It's my hobby and I make more cookies than I could possibly eat. Making the simple spritz is something that I have never made before so I wanted to buy in inexpensive press to see if I would like it. I read the reviews prior to buying so I was leery and didn't know what to expect but I liked the price. I didn't use the recipe on the box because I have a cookie "bible" that I always get my recipes from. (please see end of review for recipe- it's a keeper, trust me!)
In the end, everything about this press was easy and quick. For so many times of rolling and molding and dropping cookies to be able to simply place and squeeze was a welcome change. The tube was easy to fill, the trigger was accurate and the cookies were cute. I will note that in order for the trigger to work the plunger teeth *must* be facing the handle. Nowhere in the directions does it say this and I was confounded when it wasn't clicking at first. After fooling for a minute I figured out what I needed to do. The trigger was comfortable and easy to use. Even my 4 year old helped. Every cookie looked like a clone of the next.
Taking note of the reviews of broken plastic pieces I was very aware of how tight I was tightening the threads as I believe that was the cause of the problem with many of these reviewers. The rings only need to be finger tightened. There is no need to give an extra twist to make it air tight. The press actually need a bit of air exchange in order to work properly so it is probably why reviewers were also having problems with dough leaking around the rings.
I hope this helps some make a decision, I had no problems with my press and I believe it will be a good one to have for the yearly Christmas cookie bake marathon!

1 comments about Tramontina 20 Piece Stainless Steel Prep Set with Lids.
- After learning about the dangers of some plastics used in food storage, I sought an alternative and found this Tramontina set. I was pleased with the quality: heavy weight, smooth edges, fine finish, and snug lids. I only wish there were sizes between the small "cups" and the three bowls. The flat squares are great for marinating, the bowls terrific for salads, etc, and the little cups are perfect for "mise en place" - advance prepping of small amounts of ingredients for cooking. And they look good!

4 comments about Kaiser Bakeware Patisserie Fall Cookie Cutter Rings, Set of 9.
- I have used these numerous times and love them. My kids can use them with ease. We have used them for Autumn cookies and Halloween cookies. I also have used them to make shapes for sandwiches. I am glad I bought them. The ring is great if you have a problem with losing cookie cutters...that's my family...so far we haven't lost one.
- This is a great set of Fall Cookie Cutters. I have the Christmas Cutters from this company as well. I like that there are a multitude of sizes so that two of the cutters can be used to cut shapes out of sandwiches for our 5 year olds lunch box with hardly any waste. I used the cutters to make fun shapes out of slices of cheese and lunch meat as well - making our version of fun snackables - cheaper and much cuter. These cutters work much better then plastic ones and easily cut through sandwiches or cookie dough. I plan to buy more of these sets.
- These aren't the highest quality cookie cutters, but at least they don't fold in half when you try to release the cookie dough. The smallest cookie cutter is the moon, and that's still about 2" so the cookies are a decent size. At about 50 cents a cutter - it's totally worth it. Like the other reviewer, I've now attached all of my fall / halloween cookie cutters to a single ring.
- What's not to love? Fun Halloween shapes, good size for cookies with kids -- not too big or two small. Easily recognizable shapes. Metal, so they cut well. And they come on a ring, so you can keep the organized! I'm even adding some of my other cutters to this handy ring.

5 comments about Wilton 50-Piece Tool and Caddy Decorating Set.
- This is full of fun toys to make awesome cakes. Of course they leave room for you to buy more to put in there too.
- This item is AWESOME. About 9 years ago, I took the Wilton cake decorating classes. No one told me there was a kit, so I began purchasing items one-by-one. I loved the classes, and enjoyed them. I wasn't very careful at that time with my items, and many got destroyed. I gave up the cake decorating for quite a while. I have a 9 year old and 20 month old twins now, and always looking for ways to cut costs. I decided I wanted to make my twin's birthday cake this year, and the first thing I thought about was 'Gotta get the entire kit!!'. Since I know I'll only being doing 'around the house cakes' and not decorating for events, I knew this kit would be perfect, with all the basics! Plus if you add up the cost of all the items included, you certainly SAVE money! Always a plus! The color on this Tool Caddy is much better than the color of the one you can buy with no assesories. Buy this item with confidence! I'm sure you'll enjoy.
- This is a great set, has everything needed to start decorating cakes. Plenty of extra room for additional supplies too. Easy to understand directions and practice board make beautiful decorating a breeze.
- This is a great kit, portable and very well-suited to someone who wants to decorate cakes/cookies but not go all out with wedding cakes, as the largest kit does.
The book is fairly detailed as an introduction, and there is a good selection of tips inside. Even though you cannot store the larger tips on the points, you can however put other small tips in between those already on the plastic points--especially for example Tip #225 which has a little metal frosting guide insert that could get bent or broken if you try to press it down on the plastic point. This would help you keep duplicates or tip families together in quadrants, if you didn't want to keep them just in the straight rows.
I agree about the box colors available--they could have done much better in that regard.
My main concern (and why it only gets 4 stars) is how long the hinge on the lid will hold up over time, since it seems to be made of plastic without any metal reinforcement.
I got mine using a 50% off coupon at the local chain craft store, so even Amazon's price seems rather high to me.
- This is the best value for your money! It's great for keeping it all together, especially when decorating on the go. I love the pegs for organizing your decorating tips & there's plenty of room under the tray for everything you need to make the cake (except the pans!) I definately recommend it.

5 comments about KitchenAid KB3SS 3-Quart Stainless Steel Bowl for Pivot Head Stand Mixers.
- This is the best mixing bowl for my mixer, imaginable. It's great for icing and small recipes. I never liked it when I had to use my large bowl for small recipes.
I liked this bowl so much I even bought one for my sister for her birthday!
- EXCELLENT,PERFECT,size for small recipes such as icings. This size bowl fits the Kitchen Aid Artisan Max Watts 325 Mixer.
- I was very pleased with the KitchenAid KB3SS 3 quart bowl. I like the fact that it fits in my larger bowl so is easy to store and appreciate so much being able to have 2 bowls for my mixer.
- Some stand mixers come with 2 different bowls, and I have always considered this a very smart idea. That was the only think I thought that KA was missing to be the best mixer.
Well I bought the 3quart bowl and I am very glad. There are times when you really need an extra bowl to mix separate ingredients and this thing is what you need. I agree that then handle is missing, but considering the small size, this is not a must, and the good news is that due to the missing handle you can keep it inside the big bowl saving space. I have never had problems with the ingredients flying across my kithcen, just keep the mixer at slow speed when mixing dry ingredients. In fact, this bowl is a great addition to your favorite mixer. Delivery by Amazon, was fantastic as always, and the price, the best!
- this bowl is so convenient for me. i thank you for being such a good company to deal with and for your great prices.
