5 comments about Mario Batali 5-Piece Measuring Prep Bowl Set.
- Product is perfect when you're busy at work and want to grab a serving of nuts out of a larger bag or container, or if you want to measure out the right amount of yogurt quickly and get back to work. They are nice enough looking that you can use them as bowls and eat right out of them, as I do with my yogurt, nut and peanut butter snacks.
- These nesting measuring bowls-- if that's the term-- are rather attractive if you like the color orange. Each bowl can be used for two measurements as follows:
2 cups/1 cup;
1 1/2 cup; 3/4 cup;
1 cup; 1/2 cup;
1/2 cup; 1/4 cup;
1/4 cup; 1/8 cup.
For example, you can measure both 1 Cup and 1/2 cup from the same bowl. There is a line that indicates where 1/2 begins.But why would you need to measure 1/2 cup out of the bigger 1 cup bowl when you have a bowl with a bigger measurement of 1/2 cup? One of the problems is that the numbers are divisible by 2 only. How do you get 1/3 of a cup measured? Additionally how on earth do you level the smaller measurement within the larger one? Try measuring 1/8 of a cup, for example, and see if you can level off whatever you are measuing. I obviously knew there were no handles on these bowls\ when I ordered them, but I like to put the measuring cup into the flour or sugar container and then level with a knife or spatula, something that is rather difficult to do with these.
These bowls will probably stay nested on my kitchen shelf.
- Works great. However, I'd like it if the cups were a little bigger than the intended size and then had a second line inscribed. This would make them quite a bit easier for prep-ing liquids that will sit for a bit until they go in the pot.
- These are great all-purpose measuring cups. Often in cooking (especially baking), you have a recipe that calls for three ingredients to be added at a given step in the process. For example, a cup of milk with a teaspoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of honey. This is an example where these measuring cups excel. You use the 2 cup bowl which has a line inside for the 1 cup mark. Fill the milk to the one cup line, then add the vanilla and honey. You only use one item (less cleaning). Also good when activating yeast for breadmaking.
- We really liked these measuring bowls at first. Unfortunately, after being washed in the dishwasher a few times, they became very faded and the surface appears crackled. Since I just heard about carcinogens possibly leaching out of hard plastics in the dishwasher, I just can't take the risk. Especially when these bowls actually LOOK like they are deteriorating. My Mario Batali measuring bowl set went in the trash.

5 comments about Pyrex Smart Essentials 8 Piece Mixing Bowl Set.
- I received this set for Christmas 2007. I have used them and enjoyed them for 8 months. Yesterday, I heated some soup in the microwave in the smallest bowl. Let it cool and ate some of it. About 10 minutes later I put the lid on the bowl and put it in the refrigerator. The soup and bowl were room temperature. The next morning when we opened the refrigerator, the bowl was in pieces and the soup was all over the shelf. There were no cracks in the bowl before I used it. I have now read hundreds of other people's experiences with the same issue. I will be taking this product back to the store. IT IS UNSAFE. Here is the consumer affairs [...]
- I had to send the original back to Macy's because it was missing the small bowl lid. I was instructed to send the "whole" set back rather than Macys sending me the lid for the smallest bowl.
The second set I received was in a "beat up" mailing box. The contents inside the Pyrex box were VERY dusty and there were mouse droppings in one of the bowls. (VERY gross I must say!!) Not the first time I've had problem with Macy's. All in all the set itself looks nice but the dustyness and mouse droppings makes me wonder if the bowls will every be used.
- I couldn't be happier with my new mixing bowls. I'm not a cook and don't usually get excited about kitchen items, but I'm seriously in love with these bowls. They're just so useful, plus attractive and easy to clean and store at the same time. Not to mention healthy since they're not plastic. WELL worth the $20 I spent.
- Pyrex Smart Essentials 8 piece Mixing Bowl Set - got this for my son and his girlfriend - came in excellent shape and in good time. They were well pleased with them - have lids that go along with them and are in 4 different sizes that were just right for them. Recommend highly!
- Good value, great everyday set to have on hand. The covers come in handy and can be used in the Microwave if reheating for a few minutes. It is possible to do the from the Freezer, to the microwave oven, to the table and vice versa routine. Highly recommended, especially for a new apartment or house. Would make a great gift for someone moving into their first place.

- I like this bowl very much. I bought it with my mixer and it holds quite a bit. I like the non-slip bottom on the bowl and the non-slip handle. And most of all I love the pour spout that is on it as well. Great bowl go buy one now.
- i have steel bowls, ceramic bowls, glass bowls, copper bowls, melamine bowls, pinch bowls, finger bowls... lots of bowls. i got these OXOs and now i kept the copper, the ceramic, and my OXOs: 2 5-qt, 1 3-qt, 2 1.5-qt, and 8 1-cup prep bowls (with lids!). these OXO bowls are workhorses easy to hold and clean. they are light and quiet (they don't bang on your counter).
notes:
*not for dishwashers.
*clean with soft cloth or sponge if you are trying to keep the surface scratch-free.
*like any plastic bowls, metal spoons, beaters, or knives will abraid the surface.
if you are in production mode in your kitchen having a few of each of these bowls will make the job easier. buy them buy the bag.
1 cuppers are here: OXO Good Grips 4-Piece Prep Bowl Set with Lids
1.5 qt.: Oxo Good Grips 1-1/2-Quart Mixing Bowl
3 qt.: (not available on amazon. boo.)
five stars.
- This is the one that I bought, to go with the three piece bowl
set...well...its the same size as the large one in the 3 pc. set!
So, don't do what I did and purchase this one separately, unless
you need TWO large mixing bowls! The product is great, NO slip
and easy to pour from, really the best bowls I've ever had..as
I can actually manage them!
- This bowl is great for cooking. It is stable when mixing and easy to clean.
- This has worked out perfectly for making waffles. I have to make a double recipe, so the size comes in handy. I was somewhat uneasy at first about the round bottom, but this has been no problem at all; the bowl isn't the least bit unsteady, even when I have the ladle in it for spooning the batter into the waffle maker. It cleans up in the dishwasher just fine also. Alternatively, I use this bowl for making jello, and then is when I really appreciate the pour spout.

4 comments about KitchenAid Professional Series Red Mixing Bowls, Set of 3.
- The shapes and sizes are fine and the rubber on the bottom is nice. I have only handwashed these and they are easy to handle because they are so lightweight. On the other hand the lightness makes them feel cheap and flimsy, If I had paid regular price for these I would be very upset but I bought them on sale and it was easier to keep them. The color is a dark muddy red, not that attractive, it looks nicer on my computer monitor. What bothers me the most is the sharpness of the top edge, especially the spout. The edge is actually sharper than my stainless dinner knives, you couldn't cut yourself it just feels bad when washing or drying the bowls. Since I paid less than half price using the sale price and buy 4 get 1 free I can't complain. The regular price is outrageous!
- Good product, but unfortunately I have seen it in stores for much less money, first time I overpaid on Amazon, very disappointing.
- They say dishwasher-safe, however, they melt in the lower rack of the dishwasher (the only place they fit). They were ok until dishwashing.
- I like these bowls, but have a couple of 'negatives'...the positives are that they have rubber grips on the bottom to help them stay put, and the capacities are clearly marked on the bottoms. In addition, they have pouring spouts. Now the negatives: I think that for the Clearance Price, they're a bit thin. It would have been helpful for Amazon to put the construction (i.e., plastic) in the product description, and when I went to the Kitchenaid site, they didn't have it there either! The other negative is that I expected them to match my Kitchenaid Empire Red stand mixer, but they are a shade darker. All in all, I'm pleased, but not overwhelmingly so.

5 comments about SoftWorks 3-piece Plastic Mixing Bowl Set.
- These mixing bowls are wonderful. The rubber handles and bottoms are surprisingly helpful (no more bowls sliding around the table when you are trying to mix with one hand). They seem durable, and the price is not bad as well so I would definitely recommend buying these.
- I had a set of nested lightweight bowls, that had a bit of a pour spout..but
not enough...I was still pouring 1/2 of my product on the
counter top..decided to find another set that actually worked!
These do! And they do NOT slide around on the counter/table top either.
A nice set for newlyweds setting up house. Just watch that you don't
do what I did, I thought there was another larger bowl and ordered it
(well, you might actually READ...I guess I didn't!) so I ordered and now
have another of the largest bowl in this set...but that's not all bad =)
This is really a great set, another fine Amazon product.
- I got these as a wedding present about four years ago and these bowls have stood up very well. I've made everything in them from big batches of cookies to pancake batter in the small one. The non-slip grip is nice and at first I thought that it might pull away from the bowl when they got older, but they've been amazing. I bought the smaller prep bowls at Target for little jobs. The other reviews say that they are a bit pricey (and granted I got these as a gift), I plan on buying a set for my younger sister. I have a $10 off coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond that was in the Sunday paper and that will cut the cost almost in half.
- These were of very nice quality, the non-skid bottoms were good, but they were a little pricey. I had a discount, otherwise would probably not have paid the original price for them.
- on time as specified,quite skidfree hardplastic,should have come with lids for the price,very pricey for plastic,use supersaver shipping,it remains to be seen how they will scratch as the type of plastic is not specified????

- I just got the farm animal, dino and marine sets. They are too big to me (about two to three times than the animal crakers on the market). The material is also thin. However, I got around $3/set, which is reasonable. I will give them 3 and half stars.

5 comments about Parchment Paper Sheets - 13 × 18.
- This item took awhile with shipping, only because it comes from Canada. I work in a bakery and know parchment paper. This product is quality with lots of sheets to a box and a very good price. Not like the rolls you buy off the grocery shelf. I will definitely order from Goldas Kitchen again.
- This parchment is very convenient to use. It does not curl on your baking sheets. Works great for all kinds of baking or candy making.
- These are slightly larger than my "standard" half sheet pans, so I have to do some folding each time, but my own fault for not measuring more carefully. The quality of the parchment is fine, pretty standard, really. When you get the box, you might want to open it on the end only if you need a storage device for them in your cupboard, and the box works pretty well. Go forth and bake.
- I put raw meats onto these for a kitchen scale to weight so that the scale would not get messed up. I also put chicken between the layers of the parchment paper sheets then vacuum sealed. A great way to keep frozen things from sticking together.
- This is a wonderful convenience item. I have used these parchment sheets for baking cookies, bread, and even chicken breasts. The size is perfect for my newly acquired Nordicware 13x18 baking sheets. The price is great too. I was paying between $3 and $4 for a standard roll of parchment paper at Wal-Mart, and quite a bit of it was going to waste due to cutting / sizing to fit my pans. I will definitely order again when this box runs out!

4 comments about Pyrex Prepware 2-1/2-Quart Rimmed Mixing Bowl, Clear.
- I have been useing this brand for some time now. I love em, they are a nice heavy glass bowl. I use mine for bakeing/cooking, serveing, and prepareing foods. Good quality bowl
- great mixing bowl, will last many years. will not react since it's glass rather than metal. kitchen mainstay!
- Good basic bowl for mixing dough or making a salad. It is a bit too shallow to use a mixer for whipping cream or eggs (I use a Pyrex 8-cup measuring cup Pyrex Prepware 8-Cup Measuring Cup with Lid when I need to use a mixer). Dishwasher-safe and can be used to melt butter in the microwave oven, which is nice.
- I have owned the item for eight months. There have yet to be any issues with the bowl at this point in time. It arrived well packaged, unharmed. The glass is plenty thick and poses no risk of damage regardless of use. Works well as a large salad serving dish when required.

3 comments about Beyond Gourmet Unbleached Baking Cups.
- ..they are just fine. I'm always baking cupcakes/muffins to snack on so I go thru a lot of cupcake cups. These are perfectly functional and bake just fine. I wouldn't recommend them for any special occasions or presentations though.
- I have used these baking cups for years. I see no difference except the paper is the natural parchment brown.
- These seemed like a great idea, but the execution is terrible. The cups aren't uniform in size and they make your cupcakes look awful! Lots of indents in the sides of the cake. I want more options for unbleached or generally green baking stuff that is of better quality.
Unimpressive.
