- My fiance got this for me for Christmas. LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT!!!. I LOVE to bake and using these silicone pans, I never have to worry about anything sticking to the sides of the pans and wondering if it's going to come out in one piece. It always comes out perfect!!! I would definitely reccommend these to family and friends.
- This set is a great value. I use the loaf pans, the cookie sheet liner, and the muffin pan all the time. And NOTHING STICKS! It's true! My old metal pans are hereby retired. You'll probably end up buying a few more pieces to round out your collection (like a second muffin pan) but this is a great starter set.

- I was actually looking for the cooling rack and I found this 10-piece set which includes the cooling rack. I wanted to get brownie pan with lid and more cookie pan but I thought it would be expensive to buy all at once. But this bakeware set got everything I wanted just for $16.99. Some people could think these are too small but the size works for me.
I love this bakeware set. It's so cheap and works fine. I highly recommend this product for those who love baking.

- I love my new set. Everything matches and I got all the bowls and lids. They are great in the microwave and the dishwasher. The only bad thing is that the man of the house didn't like them. :)

- I have used these, and they work great. The storage system is a nice way to keep all the pieces organized. The containers can be used in the freezer (unlike the disposable type put out by glad and ziploc). The array of sizes is nice.
- The idea was great. It was the worst quality and the worst material ever.
- they look nice all stacked up and neat, but they are extremely cheap. the lids barely stay on. it was not worth it. the throwaway ziploc kind are much better.

2 comments about Calphalon Classic Bakeware 14-by-17-Inch Cookie Sheets, 2-Pack.
- I'm surprised to read the previous review, because I just had that experience with a different cookie sheet, one that got great reviews from most people. I've owned my Calphalon sheets for a few years now, and they are solid, heavy-duty sheets that have never warped in my oven (and I bake scones every week at 425o in a convection oven).
I like that the 17" length makes them big enough to hold a 15"-wide sheet of parchment paper without having to fold or trim it. The two unrimmed edges make it easy to prepare items on a sheet of parchment and then just slide the sheet underneath it. The one thing I don't like is that the nonstick coating is pretty slippery... if you turn your pans end-to-end midway through a bake, you have to be careful to keep the parchment and baked goods from slipping off the pan.
I'm still confused as to why my experience is so different from Brian's... but the Calphalon sheets get two thumbs up from me.
- I ordered 3 (2x) sets of these so that I would have a full complement of 6 cookie sheets.
When they arrived, I noted that they were a bit lighter than the commercial quality cookie sheets that I had used previously, but my thinking was that if they baked well, that was all that counted. I always bake with an Exopat silicone mat on my sheets.
Upon the first use, when they were placed in the oven, the edges of the cookie sheets turned up about a quarter of an inch - an ominous sign that the sheets are too thin. The next thing I heard was the tap tap tap of sheets buckling in the oven. Lack of dimensional stability at 350 degrees F translates to poor heat conduction, and burned cookie bottoms. This symphony of metal buckling, courtesy of my new $15 cookie sheets.
Even with the Exopat silicone sheets on them, the cookies were barely done when I decided to pull them from the oven to save the bottoms from getting burned - typical of cheap, thin cookie sheets that one knows one needs to "double pan" to prevent burning. What a wonderful situation Amazon has presented me with - $90 and a garbage can full of cookie sheets.
Yes, into the garbage all six sheets went - no matter how costly, its even more so to live with poor quality baking implements and invent work-arounds to augment their performance. These are no better than inexpensive supermarket cookie sheets - actually they're worse - with the price-point of supermarket wares, one can infer the quality that one is getting.
I used to believe brands like Calphalon stood for quality, and this translated into some assurance that products bearing premium names would be of, at least, mezzanine quality. When I buy on the web and cannot better scrutinize the items I'm choosing, I tend to favor trusted brands. As it turns out, these sheets did not have the Calphalon name on them anywhere - Calphalon apparently made the decision to buy up a bunch of cheap -Made in China- cookie sheets and sell them at a premium price by leveraging the Calphalon brand.
With the holiday baking season upon us, what do I plan to replace them with? The Vollrath cookie sheets (not non-stick, but I use silicone mats, so do I care?) recommended in Cooks Illustrated magazine. They're in stock at Chef Resource - their price everywhere is $19 but most vendors are out of them. They're due to arrive via UPS day after tomorrow - Tuesday, 10/17. Holiday baking is much too sacred a tradition to be left in the hands of Calphalon, apparently.
If I could give them no stars or provide an icon of 6 sheets going into the trash, I would so rate them.

5 comments about Nordic Ware 3-Piece Baker's Quarter Sheet and Cake Pan Combo Pack with Lid.
- I've owned a 9 x 13 cake pan with a metal lid for years, so I decided a new covered pan would be nice to have. Well! Was I surprised! Right away I noticed the difference in size. This pan is at least 3/4 of an inch shorter in length, and the width isn't 9 inches either. I can set it inside my old pan. This reminds me of the canned goods we buy now that are 14-1/2 ounces. They used to be 16 oz. cans. I wasn't aware that a pan could still be labeled as a 9 x 13 when it certainly is NOT that size. That's false advertising in my book.
My old metal lid clamps down on the cake pan I already had. This plastic one does not snap on. It looks as if it would fit more securely, but it doesn't. If you're expecting airtight storage, you won't get it with this lid.
If I had purchased this pan from a local store, I'd be taking it right back because I wanted a nice lid. Oh, yes, there are also bubbles in the plastic that make it less attractive to me.
Also, the description says you can wash the pan in a dishwasher, but the label says to wash in soapy water before use. It doesn't say the product is dishwasher safe. You also have to grease the pan before each use. Because it is an aluminum pan, I would not want to put it in the dishwasher because that will cause discoloration and pitting, so I don't mind handwashing it. I'll have to see how it holds up to occasional use. Somehow I doubt it's half as good as my old one.
- I received these pans as a wedding gift. really liked them initially, especially the lids. two months later, and two of the pans have developed holes in them. not scratches, but actual holes through the wall of the pan. i have no idea how this happened- i can't see how food or dishwashing soap could possibly be so corrosive. obviously this is a major flaw with this product.
- This is a great set. I didn't realize I would also be getting a shallow pan that I could make jelly rolls and HUGE cookies on. Great buy - great product!
- Perfect results when baking and cleans up easier than non-stick. Doesn't darken or warp in the oven.
- In my twenties I bought no less than three non-stick cookie sheets while my Grandmother (an avid baker) was still using her aluminum bakeware from the 40's. I later inherited a few of her aluminum pans and I couldn't believe the difference. My cookies were no longer crispy and brown on the outside and soft in the middle...they were baked evenly. I was also able to scub the sheet and place it in the dishwasher, something you can't do with non-stick varieties. Additionally, there is no danger of having teflon flake into your baked goods. Aluminum is tried and tested and provides professional results. Buy the right cookie sheet and buy it once! I have both the half and quarter sheets by Nordic as well as the 13x9 pan. I'm a devoted fan!
