3 comments about Reco International Garlic Baker.
- Great way to cook a whole head of garlic in the toaster oven. I soak the cooker for several hours before using it to insure moistness in the cooked garlic head. The directions say to use in conventional oven but I have found directions for other clay cookers that say they can be used in the microwave. I will update my review after I have tried this method to see how well it works (or doesn't work). Would not generate the heat of a conventional oven in the summertime.
- I take the garlic baker, soak it in water for a few minutes, then cut the top third off of a glove of garlic (just enough to expose the little pods inside) then brush it with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and fresh cracked pepper, then bake it in the oven on about 375 for 30 minutes. When it's done, you take the garlic out (allowing to cool) and you can just squeeze the garlic out of the little sections, because it gets reduced to the consistency of butter. You can squeeze it out onto bread, spread it around, and throw the bread back in the oven for a minute with the broiler on, and you've got healthy, simple, and delicious garlic bread.
- My Wife and I love clay pot cooking. This item looks good on your counter and works perfectly. For the price you can't do any better.

- Sango Splash 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4Sango Splash 9-Inch Square BakerSango Splash 13-Inch Round Serving BowlSplash Set of 3 Mixing Bowls
I first bought this product 4 yrs ago. I recently bought a few more pieces and another set of dishes. It is beautiful, durable, and very useable. I use them for everyday and they also cross over well to use for company. I have 3 sets of the dishes, the 12 & 14" platters, mixing bowls, bakeware, ice cream bowls, soup cups, 13" serving bowl, and ramikens. I love them as much today as the day I first saw them. I did have problems with the salt & pepper shakers. I broke my first set and both replacement sets came broken. I did not reorder these but the set is easy to match. It also matches my pampered chef bakeware nicely. BUY IT!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
- I tried two of them. Both of them cracked on stove. After the first time it cracked, I paid special attention to it. Whenever I did the cooking, I avoided adding any cold stuff in, however, it still cracked.
It may be good just for oven, but definitely not recommended if you want to heat it up on the stove.
- I often contribute casseroles to parties; this is unique-looking and great quality. Love it!
- Look at the picture for awhile ... isn't it gorgeous!
If this pattern is something you like, don't hesitate on buying the dinnerware or any of the completer dishes. This stoneware is the real deal. It doesn't crack or chip with use - it is truly made to be used!
Look at the picture again ... can't you just imagine the comments and compliments you'll get when you bring this to the table?!
- If you already own the Sango Splash dinnerware set and are interested in purchasing a couple of baking pieces you can't go wrong with the Square Baker, Lasagna, Casserole or Au Gratin pieces in this line. Not only do these pieces coordinate with the Splash pattern but they can go from oven (500 degrees) or microwave, to tabletop, into the fridge with the leftovers, and then on to the dishwasher. These pieces offer versatility and style at a great price. Genuine value!

2 comments about Pyrex Storage Deluxe 3-Quart Round Dish, Clear with Blue Lid.
- I love this bowl. It's a nice size for casseroles and the lid snaps on for storage. I use it for marinating meats and chicken and for large salads. It's great in the microwave; The vents really work. I even make Jello deserts in it. Very easy to clean and easy to store. Pyrex put a lot of thought into the style. It really works well for me.
- I have owned four of these containers for at least 3 years, maybe 4 years, and have used the smaller ones almost daily. They have lasted well, except that some of the plastic lids have started to become slightly brittle, less flexible. However, they still seem like a good deal for the price, considering how much we have used them. I use the 3-quart size less frequently, and the lid is still like new.
These containers are great for microwaving, and storing leftovers in the fridge. They do not retain odors from garlic, etc. There has been no staining, even when tomato sauce splatters on the lid. The glass containers can also go in the oven (without the plastic lids of course), but I have not used them for that.
The clear glass makes it easy to view your food while microwaving. The lid has a nifty vent hole that allows some, but not all steam, to escape. The vent has a tab that can be closed later to form a tight seal, when you want to store the leftovers in the refrigerator. The lids are almost flat, slightly indented, which allows another bowl to be stacked on top.
Like other plastics, the lids may get small white pitted spots on the interior, if someone seriously overcooks the food in the microwave -- too high a power setting for too long a time. My husband has a tendency to do this. I wonder if this overheating is the reason that some of the most-often-used lids have become slightly brittle. Or is it because I put the lids in the dishwasher (on the top rack)? Or will this just happen after years of frequent use?
The 3-quart size is useful when making several servings.

2 comments about Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Bell Pepper Casserole Set, Set of 4, Assorted Colors.
- While the pepper shaped "petites" are slightly larger than the fruit shapes, 13 ounces is very optimistic. If you fill it to the brim and then never let the table shake, it probably wouldn't spill, but that's the only way 13 is possible.
If you're really going to bake in these, then 9-10 ounces is your upper limit. A good size for a single serving of baked lasagna, baked cheese grits, or tamale pie. A generous junior meatloaf or baked mac and cheese. Even a fitting pot to hold a real stuffed bell pepper (take it to the maket with you to make sure you get peppers that fit inside.)
The quality is excellent -- as always from Le Creuset.
The "awwwww" factor is very high and much appreciated on a festive auturm table.
Overall, a great product and an excellent gift.
- These four stoneware peppers match the Le Creuset pepper cast iron enameled pot. The four are useful for entertaining (hold dip, hot cheese, cooked items.) They also make a very nice gift for your favorite vegan or vegetarian. They hold 13 ounces, so are not large enough for a tureen for two, but can be used to serve side dishes on the table.

3 comments about CorningWare French White 2-1/2-Quart Oval Dish.
- It appears that I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I too have several french white pieces that I purchsed years ago that I'm very pleased with. Seems the quality and construction has declined dramatically (over the past few years). From what I can tell about Amazon's return policy, I'd have to pay to return the item. Maybe I'll buy a dog and use it as a feeding dish ;-)
P.S., (I won't be buing any more corningWare)!
- I bought a set of these years ago, and used them almost daily...freezer to oven to table, on the range..never a problem, and wanted to replace the same sized casserole. As the previous reviewer stated, the rough and unfinished bottom of the dish was coarse and gritty, and scratched my table and counter. What a disappointment! I don't believe the older set I have was made in China, but here in the USA. Save your money!
- i was not happy with this purchase because the dishes had an oval raised ring on the bottom that is very rough. this will scratch my counter and microwave. i would have returned this purchasehad had i not thrown the boxes away. sorry for the unfavorable reply. tom milan (age 73)

1 comments about Chicago Metallic Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan.
- I have a countertop microwave convection oven, and this item is a great fit. THE PAN: While the pan was designed to catch any juices/excess oil from roasting, the pan may be used on its own as it is deep enough for making oven fries, roasting vegetables, making lasagna. THE RACK: The rack can fit one medium sized chicken, or two cornish hens side by side. The height of the rack is just right; it is high enough to let the hot air circulate underneath the item being cooked (e.g. reheating slices of pizza or deep fried foods), but it still has some clearance below the flange of the outer pan to minimize spatters outside the pan. I'm very happy with this item.

5 comments about Sango Nova 2.5-Quart Covered Casserole.
- We bought the sango nova brown dinner settings about a year ago and love the color but I had no serving pieces. This one is absolutely beautiful. Great size and well...you just need to make this investment if you are looking to compliment your dinner service.
- I have the whole set in Black and am extremely happy with the quality of all the pieces. This casserole is a great addition - bakes well and does fine in the dishwasher... plus looks nice on the table! If you're thinking about the set, go for it. Oh. One more thing. I've had no problems at all with broken or cracked dishes. All have arrived 100% perfect. Overall, the set looks and feels much more expensive than it actually is!

- I have almost a complete set of dishware and bakeware in the Sango Blue. The items I received over a year ago were all of good quality and arrived in good condition. Sadly, there have been quality and breakage issues with my latest purchases. My casserole dish and lid arrived in one piece, but the lid has several obvious flaws in the glaze on the lid and so is not aesthetically pleasing. I have yet to try baking with it to see how it holds up to heat.
- This casserole is a great addition to my set. I have used it so often already. It is great for storage, for serving, or for baking. I like the fact that it can go from the fridge to the stove and even in the dishwasher. It is very versatile. I am thinking about getting another one!
