3 comments about CorningWare Creations 2-Quart Covered Oval Casserole, Ruby.

  1. This was a present for my mom and she loved it! Even though it arrived after her birthday.

  2. I saw a few of the pieces of Corningware Creations on Amazon and bought a few to start with. I am a thrifty girl, so twenty bucks for a dish seemed a little extravagant, but in the end, it is twenty bucks well spent.

To start with, I can be very casual or I can put together some really "Martha" inspired events. Either way I go, with the Phaltzgraff or the fine china, these pieces fit in. I have been buying the Diamond White and the Ruby. These pieces are tough, I can have them in the sink, toss a fork in with no scratching or chipping, although you should probably be more careful than I. My sister used a big ole metal spoon to dip corn out of this dish and no scrathes. Over all I have been very pleased with this series.

As far as shapes, the series come in an oval and a round. The round fits in my cabinet just fine, and the oval I can stack with the au gratin dishes from the series that I have purchased. This is a good sized bowl with lid, which is nice for putting a lid on and sticking in the fridge or covering up to keep the food warm. If I am pouring something out of a pot into this dish to serve, I will set it in the oven for a few minutes to heat so the dish helps keep the food inside hot. To eliminate guests getting burned from removing the lid, I will put foil over it, then set the lid on when the dish comes out of the oven- doing this keeps food hot for the entire meal and "seconds".

This set is hard to find in retail stores, so buy a few pieces, check out the 4 for 3 promotion on some items and give it a whirl, I think you will enjoy!

  3. This was a replacement piece that my wife broke.
She loves it for making her home made au gratin potatoes.

3 comments about Simax Glass 2 qt. Madonna Crystal Cooking Pot with Cork Trivet.

  1. I use this pot to cook and make soups most of the time. It's best used for making vegetable soups based on my own personal experience and usage. Also, it's good to brew tea and herbal medicines. The Chinese use the glazed pots to brew herbal med. But the glaze may contain some amount of lead that could leak into the beverage (though generally negligible). Now I can use this pot to brew herbal medicine and soup. According to the practice of the Chinese, when you brew ginseng, you should not use a steel wear but clay or ceramic. This pot is a good alternative taht I found very safe.

Cautions: Use the Wire Gauze to avoid direct contact with flame; 2nd. Use the trivet and avoid contact with hard surfaces.

  2. I needed a glass cooking pot to make egg cheese (a family tradition) for Easter. This pot was perfect for the cooking portion -- and the easy clean-up as well. I also like being able to move this attractive pot from the stove to the table.

  3. I like the styling of the Madonna crystal cooking pot. Its very pretty. However, mine came without the trivet, which would have helped because the glass felt so thin I was afraid to set it on the counter. If it were hot, without the trivet, it felt like it would probably crack. It did hold two quarts. My problem with the pot was the delicate feel of the pot. I didn't think it would be sturdy enough to actually cook with.

  1. The size is perfect for a family of 4 (approx. 6 servings). I leave this on my stovetop as I use it several times a week and it looks beautiful. It cleans easily and is not too heavy. It is a great "everyday" pan. It even goes into the oven (to about 400 degrees).

  2. i am so in love with this casserole! from the second i saw it i knew this was exactly what i had been missing. it is absolutely perfect for everyday cooking for 2-4. i use it for all my recipes that involve a skillet now. it's a nice deep 12". cleans up wonderfully. just can't say enough nice things about it. it's so pretty, sometimes i just leave it on the stove!

  3. If I could only have one piece of cookware in my kitchen, this would be my choice. I use mine nearly every day for one thing or another. It is perfect for all those one dish meals, baking, frying, stir fry, etc. I have even used it for lasagna. It is made to the Le Creuset standard so you can expect to hand it down to your grandchildren. Yes it is expensive, but it will replace and outlive many less expensive pieces.

  4. The Le Creuset 3-1/2 quart buffet casserole is the best piece of cookware I have ever purchased. The quality is apparent as soon as you grab it out of the box. Cooking with it is extremely easy. Dill salmon in 30 minutes: Salmon, cream, dill, salt, veggies of choice (potatoes, squash, mushrooms, carrots, etc. Dump it in, cover, bake at 350 for 3O min. Delicious. This is a case of you get what you pay for and this piece of cookware is worth every penny.

  5. The Casserole was exactly what my daughter wanted. It was priced right and came within a few days of odering. I am very pleased with this purchase.

  1. I have the Gold Dusk Sienna dish set and this casserole is a great addition.

  2. I was so pleased to find all the additions to my Sango dish set. I have not had a chance to use the cassarol dish yet but am happy with the purchase.

  3. A great covered server that can be used for anything you want to keep warm. The Gold Dust design looks very nice on this piece.
I love this except for the deeper than usual flaw in the finish. I would have returned it for replacement if I had noticed it before I used it. (Don't expect perfect finishes in this pattern.) It is so pretty, even with its flaw, that I am more than satisfied.

  1. When this arrived, the day before it was to be delivered as a gift, Amazon had shipped it in a box somewhatlarger than the dish, and with only two of those little air pillows included as packing material, allowing the dish to slosh around inside the box. As a result, the lid and dish were smashed to pieces. I contacted Amazon to get a replacement, which did come quickly but too late to deliver on time, and it did arrive undamaged that time but with the same inadequate packing. The dish itself is great, no complaints, the delivery wasn't great

  2. I really like this dish by Le Creuset. It is deeper than the regular 9x13 pan so you don't have to worry about food/sauce/juice coming out when it's boiling in the oven. The color is great. Only one drawback about this product. The cover somehow doesn't really fit the pan perfectly. It works, but it's a little too loose in my opinion. Overall this is a good quality dish, it's presentable, and it definitely worth the money.

  1. I use this exclusively for baking (no roasting) and find it it a great pan at a great price. I bought it because my daughter has permanently borrowed my old one and I needed a good non-stick pan - mostly for brownies. It cooks nicely, releases neatly without a struggle and cleans up soooo easily!
