1 comments about HIC Porcelain 10 Inch Pie Plate.
- I just received the HIC 10 1/2" Porcelain Pie Plate. It is very pretty, but I was disappointed to see that when filled to the brim with water, its capacity is about equal to my glass Pyrex 9" deep pie plate (about one quart plus a scant 1/2 cup). The porcelain plate is constructed so that there is a pronounced slope at the top of the plate. The diameter of the bottom of the HIC porcelain plate is roughly 7 1/16", whereas the diameter of the bottom of the Pyrex plate is roughly 7 1/2". I'll keep the HIC plate, but I don't expect that it will make a more capacious pie than the Pyrex.

2 comments about Le Creuset Stoneware 12 1/2-Inch Rectangular Baking Dish, Cobalt Blue.
- It cracked completely in half and broke into two pieces in a 350 degree oven. I even placed the dish in a cold oven as directions state. I emailed the company and received no response. I do not recommend any Le Creuset Stoneware. I own a couple more pieces of stoneware, and I'am afraid to use it now. Afraid it will also break in half and ruin another meal.
- This baking dish is such a delight to use that I have since purchased several more Le Creuset pieces in various sizes. Anyone accustomed to using glass baking dishes will immediately notice how much easier Le Creuset is to clean. Just soak it for a little while in warm, soapy water and even baked-on residue will wash away with ease. Since we are so pleased with our own Le Creuset items, my wife and I now give these casseroles as wedding presents, Christmas gifts, etc. They are always very well received.

- What can I say...it's a Le Creuset! I bought this for my friend and she absoluetly loved it. She said she is going to make something in it and bring it to a potluck. It looks like $100.00 pan.
- I have three Le Creuset cast iron "ovens" of various sizes, but this is my first "covered" stoneware piece. I know my large family will be eating many meals baked in this dish. It was large enough to cram two large chickens into it, and they came out extremely tender and not dried out. Delicious. I also anticipate using this for potlucks, since it can hold a lot of food, yet still looks great on the table. Because the top is raised, it actually holds more than a similar-sized dutch oven. I couldn't have prepared two large chickens in a similar-sized dutch oven, for example.
And, of course, it was so easy to clean!
- Ordered this item back in April as a Mothers Day gift for my wife as an addition to her Le Creuset set. The box was not opened until today (Mothers Day). My wife brought to my attention that the bar code label indicated it was made in Thailand and that it was "stoneware", not cast iron. At first we thought it might be a "knock off" since neither my wife or myself realized Le Creuset was made of anything but cast iron (I ordered it and am not a Le Creuset expert since the add on Amazon did say "stoneware"). So, after figuring out that the item was most likely a genuine Le Creuset product we felt better but will be wary of low prices for otherwise expensive products...to be honest I figured it was a clearance item was price to "move" and didn't take the cast iron vs. stoneware into account. The product is fine and my wife is happy since...it's the thought that counts but as I said, I'll pay closer attention to low prices in the future.
- The only complaint is this was manufactured in Taiwan and the ad does not
state this fact.
- This is a good quality baking piece that will fill the oven. 5 1/3 quarts! It is a bit heavy but that just means that the item stays warm for a good long time, big lid holds in the heat. Easy to wash because of the ceramic, just sudsy soak. I plan to use it for cold dishes, like potato salad and such. Again, that lid will keep cool, covered and presentable. Great party dish.

2 comments about Nova Quiche Dish- Brown.
- In the 1950's junk like this was labled 'Made In Japan'. Now I guess we need to watch out for 'Made In China'.
The first time I used the pan was the last. When I went to remove the pan from the oven it broke in half, sending our dinner onto the still hot heating elements on the bottom of the oven. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
- My wife has always wanted a quiche dish. So when we bought our new set of dishes at a local Penny's, I did a search of Amazon to pick up extra, more exotic pieces.
Little did I know that my multi-piece, supposedly no charge for shipping, order would come from four different vendors, half of whom charged us shipping.
The "quiche dish package" was shipped from Target. When it arrived, I surprised my wife of 43 years with it and we opened it together.
Guess what? The package contained two packages of Dyson rug cleaning powder ... and absolutely NO quiche dish.
Trying to get a refund through Amazon was a horror. I finally got to talk to a person on the phone and she simply would not believe me that the package was filled with the wrong product. She kept asking me, "The dish is broken, huh?" The phone conversation was like something out of an Abbott and Costello movie; the return lady was nice, but totally clueless.
Eventually, the return lady credited my charge card for the amount of the purchase, $9.99. She did not credit the card for the amount of the shipping, which was nearly $5.00.
It seems like a small thing but, but because of the size of the order, the entire order was to be shipped free. The wrong product was shipped and I'm stuck for postage on something I did not receive.
A day or two later, I got a "How Did We Do" e-mail from Amazon. I wrote a nice letter, saying just exactly what I'm relating now. It was ignored.
Friends, I have spent many thousands of dollars with Amazon. All of my previous order were for books. Because of the problem with the return, the crazy shipping charge policy and ignoring my e-mail, I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT ORDER NON-BOOK MERCHENDISE FROM AMAZON AGAIN.
I am a man of my word and I expect the folks I deal with to be the same. Amazon does not service the sale.

- The dimensions given in the description are a little misleading. I was looking for a great lasagna pan and thought I had found one when I saw that this pan was supposed to be 16.2 X 10.2. When the pan arrived, I was disappointed to find that it was only a 13 X 9 pan, which is plainly stamped on the bottom of the dish.
- You simply cannot beat CorningWare for quality of products and pricing!! Love this baking dish!!!!

5 comments about Reco International Classic Romertopf 2-5 Pounds Clay Baker.
- The item was returned because it was deemed to be too small for the intended purpose. The search for another product goes on.
- Never thought I'd really enjoy cooking but, this product sure makes it fun (and EASY!). A friend would bring over chicken stew made in one of these bakers that was absolutely the BEST we'd ever eaten. I couldn't believe it would work as easily as she described (it sure does!).
Only wish I would have purchsed a larger one. A decent size chicken pretty much fills up this size baker...and I tend to overdo things with the veggies too. Makes a good-size meal for 2-3 people.
Clean-up is also a breeze - use a stiff dish brush, hot water and let it air-dry. MY kinda cleanup!!
- Was not what I ordered. I wanted the one that matched my old chicken-sized cooker but received a clay baker that might fit a cornish game hen or two. If the range was 2-5 pounds, then I certainly got the 2 pound one. But it works well enough for pork, so I've kept it. I will not order from this company again, however. I detest duplicity.
- i bought this clay cooker because i already have one and use a great deal. this one is for a friend who really enjoys cooking and will love the food that it cooks.
- MY WIFE HAS BEEN USING ROMERTOFF CLAY POTS FOR YEARS, AND YEARS. SHE RECENTLY SAID SHE WAS GOING TO GO OUT AND FIND A SMALL ONE. I WENT TO THE WEB AND AMAZON AND ORDERED WHAT SHE WANTED. IT CAME VERY PROMPTLY. IT WAS JUST WHAT MY WIFE WANTED. THANK YOU.
