5 comments about Amco 10167 Tri-Cut Cheese Slicer.

  1. After about a week of use the wires stretch. It is still usable but it indicates the slicer is not designed for the long haul.

  2. This is a great product. It slices very consistently. I have had it for 4 years and am just now replacing the wires. We use weekly if not daily.

  3. I purchased this cheese slicer 4 years ago, and am soo peased!. I use it on any kind of cheese, unless it's a very hard cheese. I must say, I couldn't be happier! I never had any trouble with it (and I do a LOT of cooking), and my friends like it so much they want their own. I would say the only bad thing about this is that you can't find them in stores around here! I will definitely buy another one if this one ever does break.

  4. If this isn't the worst cheese slicer I've ever used, it's the second worst! The wire stretched out after less than a week's use rendering it pretty much useless. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this one.

  5. This cheese slicer seemed appealing, considering that you have the ability to slice at three widths. However, after using the slicer for less than two weeks, on of the wires broke the plastic cap at the top, rendering it useless. I would highly recommend not purchasing this slicer and opting for one without cheap plastic parts.

5 comments about Amco 60-Minute Timer, Nickel.

  1. I chuckled as I have read reviews for different timers. I am buying one of these for my daugher -- I already have one. Folks, for a manual timer to work you must first turn it all the way to 60 minutes, then back it up to your desired minutes. The FULL turn winds it so that when it gets to zero it will ring. Hope this is helpful

  2. This timer does not ring unless you turn it to your desired time, turn it back to 0, make it ring and then set it again. Don't waste your money- it should work when set! I have replaced it w/ a wonderful timer made by Oxo. Look at their products instead!

  3. Have been using it for a while. Nice timer. Don't know what other reviewers were talking about. It worked for me perfect. The only complaint (if any) is that it actually rings at somewhere 1~2 but zero.

  4. The timer clicks down but doesnt ring at zero. Actually it did once, just for a second. It looks nice but I wouldnt trust something this unreliable. Even if they replaced it with a new one I'd always be wondering.

  5. It's one of those terrible hard plastic packages that you practically need to cut into with a buzz saw. Why make it so hard to open the darn thing. That said - it looks nice. Grumble grumble.

  1. Half way through squeezing the first lime it splits in half. According to a fellow I know who works at a local cooks supply store, they had this happen to about six of them and had to return all they had.

2 comments about Amco Pasta Fork.

  1. I ordered this pasta fork after using a plastic one for years. And now I wonder what took me so long. This one is strong and long enough to pull pasta out of my tall pasta pot. I strongly recommend this to anyone who cooks spaghetti on a regular basis.

  2. If you are tired of those plastic pasta forks that melt or become disfigured this is the fork for you! I love the long handle which keeps you safe from accidental burns. It cleans easily, too... just throw it in the dishwasher.

1 comments about Amco Small Silicone Lid, Red.

  1. I bought these hoping they would work with my Corelle soup bowls. They do fit and have an excellent, drum-tight seal once applied, but they are difficult to apply. It almost takes 2 people and/or 3 hands. I don't think they would work well for soups due to the difficulty of applying. They work well once applied to bowls with a outer lip or rim, not so well with straight-sided bowls.

2 comments about Amco 5-Piece Roasting Tool Set.

  1. The baster bulb cracked for me too on the second use. It is terrible quality. The brush was ok, and the thermometer was fine as well. The rest was useless. Overall, it's not a bad value if you buy it understanding that you will be getting only two functional pieces: The brush and thermometer. I'd still suggest KitchenAid products instead.

  2. I thought I'd save a little money by going this route, but I should have just spent a little more and gotten quality tools. The bulb, on the sturdy looking baster, split the second time I went to baste the turkey. I ended up using a long-handled ladel to baste the bird. Given that I no longer have a baster, the cleaning tool is obsolete. I had a terrible time trying to get that twine untied (recommend you don't try to untie the twine after preparing the turkey; clean, dry hands would have helped (sure, it seems obvious now)). The knot was so tight that I had to pick it apart with the poultry lacers. The thermometer and poultry lacers worked fine. I didn't use the brush.

3 comments about Amco Acrylic Lime Squeezer.

  1. Spend a little more for a metal juicer. This silly thing broke with the first lime! It's pretty, but totally useless.

  2. Don't waste your money on this squeezer. Spend a little more and get the stainless steel one. The hinge on this one is just too weak to withstand any pressure. The thing broke the first time I used it! Very disappointed!

  3. ...it broke the third time we used it. We are replacing it with a metal one.
