5 comments about Amco Enameled Aluminum Lemon Squeezer.
- Had previously purchased the green/lime squeezer/juicer &
found it was a tad small for lemons so opted to get
the yellow/lemon one as well.
My son uses it all the time for his lemonade. It's
sturdy and very handy and easy to use - glad I got it!
- I bought this because I already own the lime squeezer and it has become very useful the last couple weeks. I used this item for the first time yesterday and it worked great. I know a lot of people would just rather squeeze their citrus by hand but this seems easier and I think that I get more juice out of my citrus this way. I love it!!
- This is the best gadget ever! No more seeds and it squeezes every bit of juice out of the lemon.
- We just moved to California and bought one of these to deal with the great little lemon tree in our backyard. It is wonderful! It's fast and efficient with super easy cleanup (I can't see why you would need to put it in the dishwasher and risk the paint peeling with how easy it is to clean). I would recommend it for light or heavy users without reservation.
- This will only juice small to med. sized lemons. Lemons with a larger circumference will overlap the sides when cut in half. It is also pretty tough for me to squeeze without really hurting my hands. The cut side of the lemon goes down and the curved part presses the lemon on the top until it collapses and turns inside out. That takes a lot of force, with the handles a good 5-6 inches apart. I would imagine a lot of women's hands aren't that big or strong. I am currently looking for a better solution, perhaps a stand press with a lever.

5 comments about Amco 4-Piece Stainless Steel Measuring Cup Set.
- I've been using these measuring cups for approximately 1 month. They feel sturdy enough, however I can feel a slight "give" with the handle when using for heavier ingredients. (e.g: brown sugar)After reading all the reviews of handles breaking off I've been trying to support the weight of the cup not with the handle, but with the base of the cup itself. So far they are holding up well.
- I buy everything and anything that Cooks Illustrated recommends. When I needed a gift for my friend I knew she needs some quality measuring cups and these were recommended so I bought them. She is really happy and will probably never have to replace them the rest of her life.
- We've had Williams Sonoma measuring cups for years and wanted to have a few extra. These Amco cups are a slightly lighter guage metal than the Williams Sonoma but have been serviceable for the several months we've been using them. The Williams Sonoma are better, but these are a good deal.
- I was concerned when I bought these and saw that the handles and cups are two separate pieces (it's just something that can break). Well, they broke. I was drying off the 1-cup today and the handle just fell off... I wasn't even applying any force. They have never even been in a dishwasher. What a piece of junk. I bought them because they are recommended by Alton Brown -- but now I'm going to look for something that is better quality. AVOID THESE, THEY WILL BREAK.
- I purchased because they were recommended by Cooks Illustrated. Would purchase again. Excellent quality.

5 comments about Amco Silicone Tongs , Red.
- High quality silicone coated tongs. Springs open, locks closed. Does NOT scratch my non-stick skillets.
- These would be ok but I didn't realize just how big they are. I wanted something I could actually cook with. They are a full 12" long. The handles didn't fit comfortably in my hand and the silicon tips are hard, not rubbery texture like I'd imagined. The tips open to about 6" between them.
Hope this helps someone else know better if it's what they want.
- I needed a good set of tongs to use in non-stick pans. Not having to worry about melting the tips is what really makes these great. I'll confess that it did take me a minute to figure out how to lock them. Locking is simply push/pull the spring with the hanging ring. I think you'll like these.
- I use my other Amco set (metal tips) all the time. These don't get as much use but working with non-stick surfaces will get these out of the cabinet every time.
- If you're like me, you find it really hard to find GOOD utensils that you can use with your nonstick cookware. Spoons are the only thing that are good in wood, and the plastic stuff seems to crap out on me, eventually.
Tongs are worth their weight in gold; a spatula or spoon have their uses, but they're not cut out for universal cooking service. Tongs are good for just about anything that's not sloppy or squishy. It's like having a heatproof extension of your hand available.
All you ever see is the standard metals tongs, though, and those won't do unless you're BBQing or if you cook on stainless or anodized (and you can't poke a lot in either). I didn't want plastic-tipped tongs, so these fit the bill perfectly.
They are a good length. They don't open too wide to be a nuisance when placed on a counter- or stove-top. They're sturdy. They're great!

5 comments about Amco Enameled Aluminum Lime Squeezer, Light Green.
- Rec'd this and the lemon squeezer, both function perfectly and so much easier than sqeezing them on the old fashions cone shaped squeezer.
- I love this product! It's an absolute breeze to operate and so simple. Probably the best kitchen gadget I've purchased in many years. Highly recommended!
- If you use as much lime as I do, then this squeezer is for you. Even if you don't, it's still a wonderful item. It squeezes the juice from the lime very easily and the metal does not hurt my hands after extensive squeezing. I never thought it would work as well as it does. Once you buy it, you will never need another.
- We have the orange, lemon, and lime squeezers. Ease of squeeze diminishes as size increases and fruit becomes firmer. An older, drier orange would be almost impossible for Hulk Hogan to get a drop out of. A small, juicy lime would be a whiz for an arthritic grandma.
Our objections are, the enamel peels off where the juice contacts it most strongly and repeatedly, so that bits of paint fall in your food preparations; the acid in the juice attacks the bare aluminum and causes pitting; waxy coatings from the fruit which build up on the inside surfaces of the juicers attract dirt and mildew and are virtually impossible to remove; and finally, the pin that holds the pieces together is steel and rusts.
Although these juicers get the juice out, we're now looking for an all stainless steel model with long enough handles so it doesn't take a lot of strength to juice a lemon, and doesn't shed paint and collect crud that can't be removed.
- Our family squeezes alot of lime juice for our Vietnamese dipping sauce and this squeezer is very effective in squeezing out every last drop, while keeping the seeds out and your hands clean. Making lemonade has never been easier.

5 comments about Amco Stainless-Steel Cocktail Picks, Set of 4.
- I saw these in a magazine and just had to have them. These are well made and give any plate of hors deurves a nice contemporary edge.
- They look great (and fun!). They are a heavy gauge wire that is very high quality and never rusts. They are just the right length for a standard martini glass, and never fall over into the drink. Once you try these you'll never use a toothpick to hold your olives again!
- These work well in a deep martini glass to hold your olives or onions....they are long enough so they don't fall in.
- Gave as a gift, and they were much appreciated. They were nice because they were different then your ordinary picks, and also very strong. Nice product.
- Exactly what I expected. Shiny stainless steel in a functional, fashionable pick. One fault--could be half an inch longer.

5 comments about Cilio Stainless Decanter Drying Rack.
- This drying rack was cheap and easy and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. The padded tip keeps the decanter in place without fear of it falling over. I use this drying rack even with our most expensive decanters. No complaints.
- I have had plenty of decanters and always found it a pain to get them all spot free and dry. Then I needed to pick up a decanter for my wine bar and noticed Cilio's decanter drying rack. WE use it everyday. I can't help it. I'm a winemaker and our job is to drink all of it! *LOL*
I definitely saw for the price, you just can't go wrong
- I use this for drying anything tall and narrow that I can't get my hand and a towel into, e.g.,1-quart Rubbermaid juice container and vases. Also good for air-drying ziplock bags. I used to use a wine bottle, but the wet bags stuck to the side of the bottle.
- Getting those decanters to dry without spots can be problematic. This is a big help. The wide base allows better balance than you would think, and is really very secure. I would prefer a larger balance point, but this does the job.
- I was in a bind. I had a beautiful new wine decanter, but no way to dry it. The decanter would not balance upside down on it's own....so I found this.
I'm happy with it (hence the 4 stars) except for one minor flaw....the base circle is far too small. After placing the decanter on this 'rack' i find i have to carefully adjust the interface so as not to have an out-of-balance assembly. In other words...it's kind of scary how small the base on this is. I live in earthquake-prone California...and a decanter sitting on this wouldn't survive a 4.0 However, given the other options (and the price)...you can't go wrong. After all, it works!

5 comments about Amco 4-Piece Stainless-Steel Measuring Spoon Set.
- I'm no kitchen utensil connoisseur, but I can confidently say that even if this set only lasts a couple of years, it is still worth the money spent. It looks much nicer than my old (equally priced) set of cheap plastic measuring spoons. Didn't bother to read the care instructions and I'm sure they would last longer if I were to hand wash them... but at this price they are disposable. So, I'll just keep tossing them in the dishwasher until they give up the ghost... and then order another set. Recommended.
- These measuring spoons are heavy-gauge stainless steel, probably a little thicker and heavier than they need to be for measuring spoons. They are round, and except for the smallest ones, will not fit into small or medium-mouth spice bottles. I think an oblong shape is more appropriate for measuring spoons.
- I use the tablespoon size one to mold my coconut macaroons, I put a lot of pressure to try and compact the coconut mixture, and the spoon holds its shape nicely.
These spoons are well-made and the price is great. I'm going to buy a set for my niece, who is just starting to take interest in baking.
- These are poorly made, they seem to be made of a very cheap stainless steel, and there are marks on each of the spoons and handles which make them look like they've been used. I'm not sure if I just got a bad set because all the other reviews seem good.
- Like everyone else I've had plenty of measuring spoons. The one's I've had were either plastic or aluminum. This time I decided to trade up and am impressed with the quality of these spoons as they should last much longer if I don't lose them. I would add that the stainless steel cleans up more easily and you aren't afraid to scour them if necessary.

5 comments about Amco Advanced Performance Measuring Spoons.
- I was looking for a durable and high quality measuring spoon set. THESE ARE EXCELLENT! They seem very strong but not big or bulky. Would definitely purchase these again for myself or as a gift.
- I bought these because of the feel and look. However, they are functional as well. The curved end allows you to place them on a counter without spilling their contents. They are very sturdy and accurate too. The price was the same as other ones I looked at that were not as sturdy or nice.
I also purchased the measuring cups that match these. They were a bit pricey and I usually don't buy matching sets, but the quality and looks sold me.
I research a lot of my kitchen tools before buying, but measuring cups and spoons are just not that special enough to nitpick over functionality. Buy these because they are high quality and good looking.
- Much heavier weight than expected -- the metal must be 2 or 2.5mm thick! not of the super-smooth, perfectly polished edge quality of metalwork, but they will outlive me for sure. (not that they have rough or sharp edges, think rustic, handmade jewelry -- not all the bowls are same thickness)
- sturdy, well made and good looking
use these spoons every couple of days and am pleased each time
highly recommend
- These spoons are lovely... High quality, nice heavy feel... And I love how they stand up when you set them down so your spices stay on the spoon. Great addition to your kitchen tools collection!

5 comments about Amco 4-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing bowl.
- I have a few of these bowls and they are great for making anything in the kitchen. They clean up really well by hand or just put them in the dishwasher. Buy one or more, you will love them that much!
- I have a set of 3 different size Amco mixing bowls and use all of them frequently. They nest together for easy storage and seldom a week goes by that I don't need to pull out at least one for some job in the kitchen. This is the middle-sized one of the three I have and works great for mixing up most box mixes, brownies, etc. All the Amco bowls are very solid, commercial grade and stainless steel, with a nice edge for gripping and a large flat surface on the bottom so they don't move around much when mixing in them. They really hold up well over time (I've had mine for 5 years now) and go through the dishwasher if need be without a problem.
- If you are considering both the 4qt. and the 6qt. you should know the 6qt. is only about 1/2qt. bigger than the 4qt. as indicated in other reviews.
- While I wasn't willing to plunk down $80 for an overpriced All-Clad mixing bowl, I was looking for a stronger than usual, commercial-style mixing bowl, sturdier than what is typically sold at say, Target or Bed Bath & Beyond.
This mixing bowl is easy on the wallet, and is a strong little number as well. The steel is definitely quality, and fairly thick, and the bottom is also flat for a better grip on one's countertop. I also purchased the smaller 2-quart bowl as well, and the bottom of that is sheathed in an attractive blue rubber, that also enhances traction on countertops.
My only gripe is that now I need to buy the 6 quart as well, for larger jobs such as cake batter or salads. Really a nice set. But, I'd say save yourself some money and get the bowls individually, rather than the set of 3 bowls for $49.99 that Amazon is also offering.
- This is a wonderful item. Before I had this one (and the same one in another size) I only had plastic bowls. This one is so much better on alot of levels.
First it is a wonderful, all around great size. Its substantial size makes it great for alot of mixing chores. Its easy to clean and maintain. And great for salads as it holds the temperature and the salads stay cold. My old plastic bowls werent as study and had a tendancy to tip, didnt help with temerature reculation and were harder to clean (tomato would stain it , you couldnt use plastic as a make-shif double boiler, and it was hard to ever be sure any grease was off it, essential for whipping egg whites. this is a great item. They arent bad for storage either as they nest. I wouldnt get any other bowls, at this point...

4 comments about Amco 5-Cup Sifter.
- I do not like this sifter at all because it starts out sifting while using the spring action handle and then it stops sifting after a few pulls and you end up having to shake the sifter to get the flour out. Now I see why it's up as a clearance item. Don't waste your money if you are buying it for its intended purpose. You might get by with doing a cup, but no way will it do more without shaking it and hitting it against your other hand. This one was a let down. I ended up ordering the hand cranking kind because I know they work pretty good.
- I've used this sifter now for nine years and it is absolutely fabulous! It hasn't the first sign of rust at all after all those years of use, tossing it into the dishwasher, etc. I cannot recommend it enough. It's easy to use, quite powerful, and the flour, etc. is sifted before you know it. It has such a large capacity that it makes the job a ton smoother. Highly, highly recommend!
- For all you aspiring cooks out there, when a recipe calls for sifted flour, don't do like I used to do and just just loose measured flour - it isn't the same. Sifting is an important step in any recipe that calls for it.
This is a great product, and a great price... but when you add in shipping the cost doubles.
- This is a great sifter for all your cooking needs. I have only one thing against it(the reason it has 4 not 5 sars). The spring is too strong in the handle. If you use this much you will either be very tired or have forearms like Popeye!! Still over all a good sifter.
