3 comments about All-Clad Stainless Fork.

  1. All-Clad Stainless Fork
The All-Clad stainless fork is exactly what it says it is: a sturdy fork that holds up to the toughest and heaviest meat. It is somewhat plain looking although functional. I think the handle could be heftier as it it slightly awkward to hold when carving meat due to the shape. However, the All-Clad fork seems to be a good value for what it is made to do: holds tough and heavy meat while carving. I have purchased several other carving forks which have not stood up to time. The tines on these other carving forks have all become bent, making the carving fork unbecoming and difficult to use. The All-Clad carving fork has thicker tines that do not bend. Although I only own the fork about 3 weeks now, I have used it at least six times. The tines appear to be build to last longer than other carving forks priced similarly. If you want a fork that looks more elegant and has a thicker handle and are willing to pay more for these differences, then go for a more expensive fork. I would recommend buying the All-Clad carving fork if you want a sturdy carving fork for a low price, which is what I was looking for. The fork was a very good value for the price I paid ($22.00 on Amazon.com). No other forks at that price range appeared to offer the features of this fork.

  2. This fork is great for use with roasts and for carving...its heafty size makes it an excellent tool for the big jobs. Easy grip handle is also a plus.

  3. A fork is a fork, right? This does what you'd expect. The All Clad difference is that it is beautiful and because it's stainless, it's a very hefty knife. I think with will hold a large heavy cut of meat well. I use mine for chicken. Sparkles when you put it in the diswasher.

1 comments about Emerilware Stainless 6-Quart Tall Stock Pot with Lid.

  1. I decided it was time for a decent quality stock pot for our kitchen, so I started my search at America's Test Kitchen, as I find their reviews pretty trustworthy. Their top-rated stock pot, an All-Clad, was about $300, which drew a "you've got to be kidding" response from me. They are clearly prouder of manufacturing their stock pot than I would be of owning one. Two reasonably priced pots were rated slightly lower at ATK, but further review of consumer comments of these products (mostly here at Amazon) included some negative opinions that concerned me. I saw the Emerilware at a store (it had not been reviewed by ATK) and, based on the criteria contained in the ATK reviews and the consumer comments, it seemed like a winner. After several weeks of using this pot, it is definitely a great addition to my kitchen.

My criteria for this pot were: stainless steel, some type of even-heating feature (e.g., tri-ply, aluminum core bottom), and it had to fit in my dishwasher (sales people at the stores I went to gave me an odd look when I would whip out my tape measure).

The Emerilware stock pot fits all the criteria. It is high quality stainless steel, has a copper-aluminum-stainless steel sandwich bottom, and the 6 quart model fits easily in my dishwasher.

Here's some additional things to like. The tempered glass lid is self-basting and allows you to see what is happening in the pot. I've used it in the oven with no problems. The pot heats evenly and quickly, with no hot spots and thus no tendency to burn. Clean up is very easy, even when I hand wash it instead of throwing it in the dishwasher. The handles are set high on the pot, so if a leak develops around a rivet it shouldn't be a problem (one consumer reviewer mentioned this problem with another manufacturer). The handles are quite large and comfortable, making the pot easy to handle (a feature considered in the ATK reviews). The rivets are a reasonable size and don't have prominent lips, so they aren't prone to collecting food or soap residue (mentioned by another reviewer of a different manufacturer). It is made by All-Clad (actually for All-Clad in China), a respected company and it has a lifetime warranty. The steel gleams and it just looks nice sitting there on the stove.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a quality, moderately priced stock pot, this one should definitely be on your short list. I am absolutely happy with mine!

  1. The is a fabulous pan. I love the All Clad range and though it's expensive it is so durable that I'm sure I will be passing it on to my daughter when she gets her first apartment (she's not yet one). This is a lot to pay for one pan but for good Paella it's worth it!

  1. All Clad Stainless 14-Inch Open Stir Fry has not been used as yet. It will be a wedding present for our daughter. Feedback can be given after September 2, 2006.

  2. I did not find a problem with the balance, as previously mentioned by another reviewer. The only thing a potential buyer needs to be aware of is, that if they are planning on tossing their food, they had better be strong because this unit is heavy! Other than that, it proves to be very useful for large portions. It heats quickly, heats evenly, holds the heat and leaves plenty of room to stir. Yes, it does heat evenly and allows the heat to drift up the sides. The purpose of a stirfry pan is to allow heat to move the sides of the pan to allow food touching the sides of the pan to cook as well. Now keep in mind, there isnt a perfect stirfry pan out on the market if you are cooking on a traditional gas top, flat top or coil range. True frying ala Asian style is done on an open flame!

  3. This pan is heavy and badly balanced, and the handle is extremely uncomfortable. With a pan this heavy you need a good handle; this one is narrow (ruins the balance) and has sharp edges that are unpleasant to grasp. The pan is far too heavy to let the cook manipulate and flip and toss food the way one should for a stir fry or saute. I also find the surface very hard to clean -- the slightest fond sticks more to the pan than the food. Mine has been soaking in my sink for 48 hours now after cooking a very basic stir fry and I still don't think I'm going to be able to get it looking clean again. This is my first piece of All-Clad and it's very disappointing.

  1. This pan is just the right size for those little jobs you do when cooking. The handle is nice and long and stays cool. High enough than you don't spill when stirring. Heats fast and keeps food hot. The lid handle does get hot and watch those rivets! The glass lid is a nice touch.

5 comments about All-Clad Stainless-Steel Dutch Oven.

  1. I gave this as a gift, it is just the right size for cooking for 2. It was very appreciated!

  2. My wife has been slowly replacing all our kitchen cookware over the last couple of years. She performs hours of research looking for cookware that last. We are replacing a set of Revere cookware that she bought in college over twenty years ago. We have a small All Clad sauce pan from the same line as the Dutch oven we purchased, and we love it. Cleans up very easy and looks great. The Revere cookware being replaced still looks fairly decent. She registered for the All Clad Dutch oven on Amazon. I purchased this along with a Le Crueset Stock Pot.

We are very happy with Le Crueset stock pot, but the Dutch oven has not faired so well. We read the literature that came with the Dutch oven on proper use, and have adhered to all of the literatures do's and don'ts to no avail. The outside always stays spotty, even with hand drying. The inside HAS reacted with the food and is discolored. It can be cleaned with a lot of work.

In the end I would not recommend this product. I will be pursuing returning this product.

  3. Don't let the price tag scare you - this pot will become one of the main tools in your kitchen. And you'll be hooked and you'll go back for more.

A few years ago I went to a famous kitchen store to purchase Le Creuset, but they were out of the size I wanted and the saleslady suggested this All Clad dutch oven. She said, "I'm waiting for my own Le Creuset to wear out so I can get one of these."

I took her advice, and I use this pot ALL THE TIME. At least once a week I use it to roast a whole chicken in the oven. I use it for spaghetti, casseroles, soup, jambalaya - anything. It works equally well in the oven or on the stove top. It's easy to clean - even oven-baked-on food comes off with a little soaking and a scrubber sponge.

I don't have a lot of money but I considered this a lifetime investment that was worth every penny. I am so sick of the cheap and flimsy Chinese products that have saturated the market. It is SO refreshing to find cookware that is so well made, so versatile, and so good looking, too. I eventually purchased the 13" braiser which I also use all the time. It's a good complement to the dutch oven.

If you're thinking of getting one of these, just do it!

  4. Well it's not that old, but it is my go-to pot for soups, stews and braising large pieces. Stainless steel is the best because I can put it in the dishwasher. It heats well because of the All-Clad technology. High sides make it an excellent pot for frying. I've seen folks use cast iron Dutch ovens. I'm not willing to give up "dishwasher safe" for a pot that weighs a ton.

  5. FYI: Cooks Illustrated used 8Qt Stockpot for the comparison, not this one (eventhough the comparison is for Dutch Oven)

5 comments about All-Clad 12-Inch Nonstick Grille pan.

  1. I bougth this after buying my all clad set of 10 and I am very satisfy with it. Very well made Grille Pan!

  2. I just bought this pan today at Bed Bath Beyond for 39.99 in Mass. If you live in this state, you must go get this pan, this sale was not in the circular. It also comes with a grill pan cooking book.

I bought some rib eye steaks to test it out on, and all I can say is WOW. To the reviewer that said you don't get grill marks, try getting a brick, and covering it tightly in heavy foil, lay it on top of what ever your grilling, you will get grill marks. You said there is no smoke taste, buy Wrights liquid smoke, I like the Mesquite.

This pan is a breeze to clean up, and the food, OMG the food tastes fantastic. No need for any oil, I also grilled brocolli spears when the steaks were almost done.
All-Clad Grille Pan Nonstick 12" Rawks!!! Oh it's heavy, I love that in a pan.

  3. If you are trying to use high heat and get fabulous grill marks, this is not the pan for you. No non-stick coating will hold up to the heat and the ridges on this pan are too wide and shallow.

With that said, this pan is great for cooking fish, seafood and bacon. Clean up is amazingly simple.

If you're only going to buy one grill pan, I wouldn't suggest this one. It is a great supplemental pan.

I give it five stars based on cooking the items above.

  4. Very disappointed that All Clad decided to use non-magnetic stainless steel on this grill pan, which will not heat on an Induction cooktop.

  5. After much indecision, I finally opted for the non-stick grill pan and it is wonderful. It is easy to clean and doesn't take up much storage space, in contrast to the electric grill I have been using. I have used it for hamburgers and they are done just right. I can also toast the buns right on the grill as I cook the meat. I look forward to many future pork chops, bacon, hamburgers, steaks and chicken, all done on my grill. I used to use an iron skillet but the grease had no where to go.
