- The pan and top are well made and the pouring spout allows drainage of the liquids without pouring out the contents. A lot easier than using a straining utensil.
- I love it! I'm thinking the whole set will be on my Christmas wish list! It's perfect!
- I consider this one of the most helpful items that I've purchase in a long while. I've found a dozen uses for this pot and it is so esy to keep clean and so useful.
- I love this saucepan. I have used it for everything from boiling potatoes to deep frying artichokes and it has handled every task very well. I use it often and it has become one of my favorite pans.
I love that it is extra deep. The self-straining lid makes it easy to boil food and saves dirty dishes. It feels sturdy and well-made and I like the soft feel of the handle. Clean-up is easy.
I recommend it highly.
- I really like this saucepan. I bought it for the straining function. But I found it gets used all the time. It is very easy to clean inside out.

- This little skillet has come in so useful . . . in fact, now that my fruit trees are bearing, I may make nothing but crepes for breakfast for the rest of the summer! With this skillet, it's almost as easy and quick as making pancakes.
- This is my second purchase of exactly the same skillet. Most of the cookware I use is the Anolon Advanced because of their excellent heat distribution and non-stick qualities. I have tried others but Anolon Advanced is still my favorite. Allows for healthy essentially fat-free cooking. The outside finish is also very easy to clean.
- I love Anolon pans. I got this one to complete the set
I purchased.
- LOVE ANALON but this is about the size pan to fry just a egg. I am slowly replacing my pots and pans with analon products. They are great as far as non stick goes you can make anything from ribs to cakes and the pans are as easy as a wipe down. I got the 5qt stock pot also that is way too small.
5 stars quailty
5 stars price [I paid 19]
3 stars for the rest
I will never really use this except for saute' onions, peppers etc.
- Very heavy and well made. Nothing sticks to it. Easy to clean. Great price too. A must have!

- Great skillet! It is really large and can hold enough to feed an army! I received it today and immediately started using it. WOW! Nothing stuck to it tonight. Washed really quick in the sink with a little Dawn. It does take up some room in the cabinet but worth it. A+ so far!
- Excellent quality skillet. Non-stick surface does an exceptional job just don't use HIGH heat. Time will tell as to how scratch proof the non-stick coating is.
- This is one of the better pans I have owned. It has good weight and balance and the second handle is a must in this size of pan. The nonstick surface is great but only time will tell how it wears.
Keep in mind that this is a French skillet and was much deeper than I expected.
Overall very happy with my purchase. Quick 4 day delivery with Amazon free shipping a plus!
- Wow, I more or less just wasted my $43 on this skillet. I'd return it, but it will do as a 12 inch skillet for me. But I am very disappointed.
I had a T-Fal skillet that measured about 11 inches at the base, with a gradual slope up the sides that would allow me to pile a fairly good amount of fish, or pork chops in the pan quite easily. I have no idea where it came from, I may have gotten it by default when I got married. It has served me well over the years.
But it has some scratches and the non-stick coating is getting rough (still doesn't stick, looks like it is slightly bubbling.) I read that this means it is time for a new pan.
So I came here looking for a slightly bigger pan to replace it, as I always seem to have one filet or chop that won't quite fit or I have to cram the food in tightly.
So I settled on the Anolon 14 inch skillet that I am reviewing here. I also ordered a Revere Convenience 12-Inch Skillet thinking it could replace my smaller 10 inch pan that was also showing some scratches.
I received the Anolon 14 inch skillet and hauled out my tape measure and it has roughly a 10 1/2 inch base. The same as the cheaper, and smaller sized Rever Convenience 12-Inch Skillet. The top is 14 inches in diameter, but the base is the same as my 12 inch skillet.
How is that helpful? This is just a more expensive, takes up more space on the stovetop skillet with the same cooking surface area of my 12 inch Revere skillet!
I am not happy at all with this. The sides are very gradually sloped, so I can see that this might be useful if you are using it as a WOK or for vegetables, but for meats that you want solidly on the cooking surface, this is just a bulky, space stealing pan.
You're better off with something else.
- Large enough to hold plenty of food. Very sturdy. A must have for cooking enthusiasts. I use it in the oven as well.

- I bought this pan 5 months ago and it is the BEST non stick cookware I have used in a long time! I had given up on the non-stick cookware due it it not holding up after several months. A friend of mine has a whole set if this cookware and has had it for 2 yrs, so I decided to give it a try and I absolutely like cooking with it...easy clean up afterwards!
- this is my 4th anolon advanced purchase. they are made to last. i am slowly replacing all my pans with these.
- We purchased the Analon 10" and 12" a couple of months ago. Our choice of Analon was based on reviews posted here. Must say, the most positive reviews were not exaggerations. They are both great.
- For $40 this pan cannot be beat. Just be sure to always use wood, silicon or plastic on the inside, never metal, it will eventually get scratched. I feel this pan is as nice as the All-Clad version and it's less than half the price! I also love the handle, very secure and "grippy." Even cooking and super non-stick. What more do you want?
- ok, so the small Anolon Advanced open French skillet is scratched, but it actually works great. No problem, the scratches are not real deep and it doesn't cause sticking. I love it because it is so easy to clean. Just use hot water, swipe with a paper towel and " oh my goodness" it is clean. Want to try the dirty? Like use a heavy load of cheese on a grilled cheese sandwhich... and still hot water and paper towel and u r done. And hey, these things really are pricey on the market, so a scratch here and there is ok as long as it is not nickle deep. Smile. Seriously people, it works so well I enjoy heating up a cup of chili in it. I only gave it four stars cause of the scratches. Did I say scrathes? Overall the price is just fine, cause I believe... if I live that long... I will be using this for a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG TIME> Smile.

- I don't like non-stick. It's not as versatile as good 3-ply stainless steel and it doesn't last anywhere near as long. That said, I do like egg dishes and in the summer I like dishes w/ a lighter mouth-feel (not as much oil). So I set out for the best non-stick pan.
I got a 12-inch pan because I've had 10 inch and 8 inch pans in the past and they get crowded very easily. Secondly, I wanted a pan w/ a riveted handle and a decent high temp oven performance. Also, I believe the true mark of a nonstick pan is the 'flip' performance-- so, NO HELPER HANDLE IS THE WAY TO GO! That's just my opinion. I eventually narrowed by search to 3 brands: Caphalon, All Clad, and Analon. Caphalon because they had some interesting non-stick options, All Clad because it's just the best, and Analon because I currently use their stainless set and for the last 2 years I've been very happy.
So All Clad was knocked out of contention quickly for the simple reason that ALL NON-STICK PANS DEGRADE over time. And from what I've read, their best non-stick pan will loose it's luster in about 2 years. That's not to say that I think the pan would be completely crap after 2 years-- just that i think the degradation curve would start to accelerate into the replacement zone. So why pay $130-190 for a pan over two years when you could use 2 average non-stick pans at the same price over two years and have more 'quality' non-stick time to boot?
With All Clad out of the way I turned my attention to Caphalon. I still didn't want a 'cheap' pan though... just not ridiculously over-priced one (although I would love to replace my analon ss set w/ an all-clad one in about 5 more years-- saving those pennies...). Caphalon has 'professional', 'commercial', 'contemporary', and 'one' series pans. Professional pan reviews peg it as a loser. 'One' series pans are just a bad idea all around... why would anyone want a pan that's permanently sorta-non-stick-but-not-really? 'Contemporary' pissed me off (yes I was actually offended) with it's strange 'bulge flare' near the rim-- you really have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. So I considered the commercial series.
Anolon was my last consideration. I looked at their titanium series in the past, but ultimately went with the SS set (glad I did). I was very concerned about the silicon handles. Mainly because it's a limiter to broiling temps, but I gotta say I've been pleasantly surprised. They do add a very good handling feel to the cookware and the silicon hasn't discoloured or peeled or scraped off anywhere. I totally expected the silicon to wear out and it hasn't. Also, their metal ply is just as even and weighted as the all clad stuff. Same thickness, very similar shape, and from the durability I've experienced I'd be surprised if all-clad is really all that much better... but from the looks of it I would have to comment on that about 7 years into ownership. So I was definitely going to consider Anolon.
Went to the store, felt the surface of the commercial caphalon and it was ROUGH. I know it's commercial and they say you can use metal utensils, but something is just counter-intuitive about a 'rough' non-stick surface. It was priced at $50. Then I checked the Anolon Advanced pan. Nice and smooth. Also it had the same handle as my Anolon SS set and the capholon had one of those slightly loose, thick silicon handle... uhhh... condoms. Also the packaging on the commercial pan is sparse-- consisting of a strip of cardboard w/ logo and writing and the sides of the pan exposed to the elements. When they ship them they're stacked on top of each other and the Anodized aluminum bottom from one pan constantly rubs the top rim of the pan below. I couldn't find a single pan out of the 8 on the racks, that didn't have scuffing around the rim from distributor shipping. Needless to say the Caphalon Commercial pan was OUT and the individually completely boxed, wrapped in plastic, suspended in a cardboard brace Anolon Advance pan won the day.
I was very curios about this Dupont Autograph 2 thing. Aparently the Non-stick is on the inside of the pan and seamlessly wraps over the edge and all the way down the outside until the very bottom of the pan where the Anodized Aluminum bottom makes contact w/ the burner. I don't know if it actually does anything functional, but it's VERY easy to clean. I guess maybe it keeps food from 'catching' around the rim when stirring vigorously or 'flipping' veggies in a sauté. So far the non-stick surface is PERFECT. About 20 seconds of soap, sponge, and hot water is all that is need to clean inside and out (thank you to the wrap-around nonstick surface). It has a very good weight so the heat distribution is great even around the sides. I've become accustomed to 'flipping' with my stainless pans so when I first tried it with this pan I accidentally sky-rocketed the veggies into the ventilation hood. As with temperature and handling with all new pans, it's good to keep in mind 'baby-steps'.
- We purchased the Analon 10" and 12" a couple of months ago. Our choice of Analon was based on reviews posted here. Must say, the most positive reviews were not exaggerations. They are both great.
- This is a very nice non stick fry pan. It is very heavy so takes a little longer to heat up, but provides nice even heat without hot spots. I would definitely buy this brand again.
- My wife and I received the pans in this set for our wedding over 3 years ago. They have been excellent despite very heavy use from us. The non-stick still doesn't stick and there is almost no discoloration. They are very easy to clean because the entire pan is non-stick, not just the inside. The silicon on the handle does an excellent job of protecting your hand from being burnt even at high temperatures.
The only problem we've had is that on a few of the pans the silicon part of the handle came loose. I submitted a request to their customer service department on the web and had brand new pans within a week at no cost to me.
- I bought this for my wife as a late Christmas present and have waited nearly 8 months before writing this review. After months of regular use, it looks as good as new. The skillet has held up very well - much better than the "T-Foul" skillet that we disposed of upon buying this item.

5 comments about Anolon Advanced 3-1/2-Inch Parer Knife.
- Excellent knife. I own 3 other Anolon knives, and for quality and price, they are unmatched.
Excellent service from Amazon too.
- I love this knife. I use it for just about everything. I own all Anolon knives and wouldn't buy any other brand.
- For the past 15 years I have been using a set of Wusthof knives that my husband purchased, with the exception of the paring knife, which he bent prying something open (sigh) and then tried, fairly unsuccessfully, to bend it back into position. Consequently, I have been using a five-inch paring knife but have never felt comfortable with the length. I treated myself to this knife, which for me is a fairly nosebleed price of $20 (including super saver shipping). I used it today as soon as I unwrapped it and have completely forgiven the cost. This knife weighs about double the Wusthof counterpart, has great balance, and is sure in my hand. I should have purchased this knife a long time ago and appreciate the point guard and sheath so that I can leave it out full time on the counter. November 16, 2007 update: This knife really paid for itself when I used it to prepare chestnuts for my turkey stuffing. Those shells are tough and have to be cross slashed on both sides prior to roasting. I have dreaded this part because my Wusthof blade was fairly lightweight, and I was constantly afraid of accidentally cutting myself. The Anolon knife does the job in about one-third of the time and cuts right through the outer chestnut shell. Now I am really impressed.
- I purchased this knife so I could have something to easily transport from my kitchen to other family member's kitchens, since it comes with a knife sheath. For the cost of the knife, it is a great value. It has a full tang and is balanced well. It's a very nice, moderately-priced knife, as are the others in the same collection.
- None of my paring knives were very satisfying to me. My best was an Oxo, and those are sharp, but flimsy. I wanted a firm, solid little knife I could bear down on. I bought this on sale, and now find myself making up excuses to use it. It cuts effortlessly, and holds a sharpening. Even better, it balances ergonomically in the hand. Though the handle is covered in a non-stick plastic, the knife feels full tang under it. In fact, you can feel its solidity whenever you use it or pick it up quickly, as it resounds and vibrates from the tip, like a musical instrument. It's sleek design is appealing and modern. This is a versatile and elegant kitchen tool, and it also cleans up quickly.

5 comments about Anolon Advanced 12-Inch, 5-Quart Covered Saute Pan with Helper Handle.
- Wonderful pan, just what I needed! I had to replace a Calphalon 12" saute pan because the non-stick surface was coming loose. So far, no problems with this one, though I've only had it a month. Caution: this is a very heavy pan, especially with the lid on! Nice that it has the additional handle; makes it much easier to lift out of it's storage place. They caution you to NOT use spray-on products such as PAM, because it will cause problems down the road with the pan sticking. That might be what I did wrong with the Calphalon. This pan had a small dent in the lid when I received it, in the metal rim, but my husband was able to fix it. So far I love this pan!
- This pan is one you'll love. It is heavy and heats evenly and the non stick surface
is so hard and slick that I've yet to see anything stick to this pan.
We use it for stirfry and I've used it for pancakes. For browning roasts before putting
them in the Crock Pot. It has many many uses.
The whole set is equally fabulous. I highly recommend this Anolon Advanced Cook Series.
- Super easy to clean and nothing sticks to this bad boy! This is one heck of a pan, nice and heavy. I cook a lot and this pan has gotten quite a work out. After a year there was some color change to the bottom, but it hasn't hampered the cooking. I love my Analon set, in fact I love these pans better then my Calphalon sets! The food cooks evenly every time.
- I own several Anolon cookware pieces. You will not be sorry to purchase this high quality pan. Nothing beats having the right tools of superior quality for the job at hand.
- I was hoping that the pan would be as good as it looked and it was

5 comments about Anolon Advanced Nonstick Hard-Anodized Aluminum 8-Piece Cookware Set.
- An excellent set, appropriate for a starter or an experienced kitchen chef. Heavy duty pots and pans, excellent nonstick surface; quality all the way.
- These pans are an excellent value. They are well made and easy to clean. They heat evenly and the clear lids make covered cooking very easy.
- My wife loves her new pots for cooking. I do the clean up and it is much better than our previous T-Fal set.
- We have bought several other pieces in the last six months, and have never been so impressed with cookware. However, we were disappointed when we received the 8-piece set since it wasn't quite what was described. Instead of a 1-qt saucepan it was 1.5-qt, and instead of 3-qt saute, it was a 10-in skillet. I'm not sure where to go from here because I also bought a 10-in skillet separately.....
- I love Advanced Analon cookware. I have been cooking with it for over 3 years and purchased this set to replace another brand of non-stick cookware. The first piece of Advanced Analon I bought was the 3 quart pot with the pouring lip. I use this all the time for draining off liquids from veggies and pasta. Try it, I think you will be happy with the quality, the glass lids, and weight of this brand of cookware.

5 comments about Anolon Advanced 7-Inch Santoku with Hollow-Ground Blade.
- This is a decent knife for the lower end of the market. However, I felt the blade was a little thick and the knife a bit heavy (I know that's a plus for some people but not for me).
- I purchased this knife 2 months ago on sale for about $25 at bed bath & beyond. The knife has great balance, can be sharpened to razor sharpness, and holds an edge well. The metal has a glassy polish finish that prevents food from sticking to the knife. The only problem with this knife is that it is thicker than your normal santoku knife. Usually, the more expensive santoku knives will indicate "thick blade" or something of that sort.
So if you don't mind the thicker blade, this knife is really a good piece of cutlery.
- This knife met all my expectations, it's sharp and cuts anything well, even tomatoes (and my fingers). It's a good value at under $40.
- I have one knife in my kitchen, and this is it. Granted, because I live in NYC, I rarely cook. However, whatever I need it for this knife easily accomplishes, and it's better alone than any set of knives I've bought in the past. For the price, it's a steal.
- I purchased two of these knives for my sons for Christmas. They both love them and tell me that they are razor sharp and very well balanced. They are a pleasure to use.

5 comments about Anolon Advanced 5-Inch Santoku with Hollow-Ground Blade.
- I bought the two piece set (5" and 7"}. As a former culinary professional I prefer a heavier knife with a thick blade so I can feel the balance of the knife. These knives have a hefty blade and good balance. The handle shape is different from the commercial knives I own, but very comfortable. They keep a sharp enough edge with an occasional stoning and steeling. If I was to buy only one it would be the 7". I like the hollow ground blade style, food falls right off it when chopping and slicing. I use this knife as much as my forged chefs knife. The 5" is a great knife for a quick small chop, hand slicing stick pepperoni, hard salami etc. They also came with very functional, durable sheaths to protect the blades if you don,t keep them in a block.
- Santoku knives are characterized by having a very thin blade. That's what makes them so good at cutting vegetables - you don't have to force a thick blade down into a hard carrot or parsnip. Unfortunately, the Anolon doesn't live up to the Santoku standard.
This knife has a very wide blade, meaning a lot more chopping effort. It also holds its edge poorly (and was even dull when we first got it). Both my wife and I also find the grip very awkward. The size also limits its usefulness - for example, it's too small to chop onions.
This usually just sits in our drawer as we use a higher-quality chef's knife. It's cheaper than other knives, but still not worth it. I'd rather pay more to get a quality knife, such as Cook's Illustrated's top recommendation, the MAC Santoku.
- I got this knife mainly because I wanted a knife that would be more manageable than my 8" Chef's knife and I wanted to try a santoku knife also. I have not had it long enough to know how often it needs to be sharpened, but I would say that it cuts very well and smoothly. It is fantastic for small cuts of meat and all vegetables. The blade is a good thickness and does not bend. One of the reasons I went with this Anolon is that most other 5" santoku knives have really small handles. I have big hands, so a small handle is just as annoying to me as a dull blade. Obviously, this is not the best santoku knife on the market, but for the price I think it is well worth it.
UPDATE: I have had this knife long enough now that I know that it was very sharp to begin with and lost a good deal of its sharpness over a few months, but with a sharpening rod it is good as new if not better. I'm not sure how long a decent blade should hold its edge, but with a fairly inexpensive sharpening rod/stone you can keep this one ready to slice through just about anything. On a side note, I think it's almost humorous that people review this as being "not the best"... well of course it's not! This isn't a $100+ Shun santoku, but it is a well-constructed knife for a decent price.
- MY review is really about the whole line of knives.
A five fixed blade is my choice for best all around knife for cutting in the kitchen (or camping). The first Anolon 5 inch was given to me as a gift from my wife. I have subsequently bought another five inch knife from the Anolon collection as well as their 7in and 8in knives. They are all great knves.
I never respond to the the rating scale but this deserves it.
- I have this knife only because I had a gift certificate. I wanted a Santoku knife, so I thought what the hay. Had I known how heavy it was, I would've picked another one. It's my fault for buying a knife w/o actually having it in my hands first.
My complaint is just the weight, it's heavy. I also never quite like the rubber grip. But, this is relative to one's preference, I guess. I also have to sharpen this knife quite often.
Just for a reference (why I think this knife feels heavy to me), I'm used to my wife's Global GS-5.
Learn from me, don't buy a knife online before having it in your hands first.
**
Let me add, sharpening this knife is a little tricky, because there's a lump at the heel of the knife. It prevents me from making one smooth sweep when sharpening, using a rod.
