- Easy read, very informative and seems to work best on FX. Nothing new about fork TA but it is a new twist with the parrellel fork trend lines and trigger points so easilly recouped cost of the book on my first trade so surely this is the best way to recommend it....this book makes you money !
- if the answer is yes, then I recommend this book for you. its very well written and its the complete pitchfork guide as far as I know. technical analysis trader, at one time or another, relies one trendlines to make his/her forecasts. the book gives you some methods, but you should add what works in your own trading system/style. I suggest to combine trendlines with osillators(I prefer slow stochastic), moving average (macd is the greatest)and chart patterns (double tops/bottoms,head and shoulders ..etc)to avoid bad entries. I don't recommend that you ignore normal support/resistance trendlines. they do work if you know how to apply them ,trader needs time and patient to master trendlines.good trader keeps learning. good luck
- I really wanted to like this book and i really tried to apply the methods to my trading but, it is not very accurate at all you might hit 1 out of 20 trades (which is not a very good ratio too me atleast). And the pitchfork is in every charting package that you buy so, i guess the market just fades thease moves.
- Mikula's book goes straight to the substance of Andrew's trendline methods and introduces the reader to it's applications. Besides that, it reviews other techniques developed by his team which expand the trader's hability to combine trading concepts.
Very good

5 comments about Foreign Currency Trading: From the Fundamentals to the Fine Points.
- ... I have no idea what objective these guys had in mind when they sat down to write this book.... This book is just a bunch of information thrown together (probably downloaded from the internet) and they obviously took no time to put any real effort into this book. I was terribly dissappointed with my purchase of this book.....look elsewhere if you are interested in getting started in forex trading.
- As others have said clearly, this book is a waste of trees, ink and the time of its reader. The "authors" should be ashamed of such blatant hucksterism and poor description of even the most basic aspects of trading. Even if you are a neophyte, look somewhere else.
- I'll summarize this book for you -- "Foreign Currency Trading is difficult, if you want to learn more, send us some more money and we will enroll you in a class."
Save your money, buy yourself a newspaper instead.
- Well when i grow up i to be Russell R Wasendorf, whether sr. or jr. I think these two are the greatest salesmen around. I bought a wonderful book which adorns my bookcase and adds colour and life to my room. Whats more is that i found the same book in my brother's home. Thinking he 'borrowed' it I asked him, He replied saying he 'invested' in it and it works well as a sleep aide . Seriously some points for beginners are reasonably covered but most of the book was a waste of time, paper and resources. There were no Fine points covered in the book to memory but if there were it was lost in the dribble.
- I was looking for a basic book teaching the concepts and trading practices and fundamentals. This book has a lot to say about none of the topics needed to help someone become a trader. If you are looking to have someone trade your account you might be helped by it. There are a lot better books out there "Getting Started in Currency Trading" is a fine example. This is the best buy for the money when you are done reading it you will be much better informed to move ahead. 1 comments about Value Investing in Commodity Futures.
- Finally there is a well-tested method for investing in commodity futures with reduced risk, based on the logic of fundamental factors rather than the fancy footwork of technical predictions. This book is well-written and clear, and brings us the straight-forward trading system successfully developed by Robert Weist in the 1970's.

- Joe Ross has written the best strategy guide for trading options I have ever seen. This book shows you how to blend the best features of option trading together with the best of futures trading. The book is a classic, and with each reading, I gained more and more understanding of how the markets really work, and how to take advantage of combining options and futures.
If you are an option trader, you need the understanding of the underlying futures as presented by Joe. If you are a futures trader, Joe shows you the simple and most straightforward way to bolster your futures trading by adding to it the world of options. To say that this book is outstanding is to vastly underrate its contents. A bargain at any price and worth far more than its cost.
- This is the only trading book you need in your library. If I was going to do it all over again as a trader I would buy this book and Mark Douglas' The Disciplined Trader. Better than most of the seminars being touted today and in my opinion better than software that predicts with almost XX% accuracy for 50 times the cost of this book. I have all of Joe Ross's books and this is by far the best one.

5 comments about Intelligent Futures Trading.
- I have taken one of Chick's classes and automated his trading strategies for day trading the S&P's. After thousands of test on nearly every indicator and system I know, his is still the easiest to understand and very profitable. The system works on all time frames and allows you to predict a few bars ahead.
- Simple but effective. Unlike other authors, Chick managed to stay always focus on the subject and does a very good job in explaining with great detail his techniques. I highly recommend it.
- This book is especially useful to anyone who has ever traded the markets using the SMR (Security Market Research) charts and timing oscillators. As one who has based his trading on these indicators over my "on again-off again" trading career that has spanned 30 years, Chick's approach and explanations of how to use these momentum based indicators to trade the markets was truly enlightening. I have read the book several times and it has been really useful to subscribe to Chick's daily real time e-mail commentary on 17 commodities which further clarifies the concepts explained in his book....
One warning: When you first read and look at this book, you may not realize just how valuable and powerful the information being presented really is. But hang with it and the investment in time and energy will be well worth it if you review, study, and use these concepts.
- I cannot believe the other reviews. Have any of you ever traded before? This has to be one of the worst trading books I've ever read. I've read hundreds and have an extensive library, as well as over 15 years trading experience.
He gives many ideas and suggestions of how to enter and exit trades based on SMR Charts, but nothing concrete because there are so many variations you could "try". Basically trade with the trend and "try" to buy a pullback. Any other book on swing trading would be better and more useful. This is just swing trading using SMR Charts and their indicators, though you can use your own similar indicators. This book is very expensive for something you can get out of any swing trading book, which would give you a lot more value and insight for your money. On money management, same thing, vague - not much more value than telling someone "don't trade too heavy" and to "go with your best guess". You might notice that there is not one single endorsement from anyone on the back of the book. With someone described as a "top notch sought after money manager" and a "big time trader" doesn't it make you wonder why? Don't waste your money.
- This is an outstanding book. Many say that his other book is better, but I don't think its necessarily that it's "better", as it is essentially the same concept, although just different levels of depth.
I consider this as the Laconic version of Chick's methods and teachings.
I am telling you- don't just read this book- APPLY IT. Don't be foolish and gloss over it as many "traders" do and run your mouth negatively as one reviewer here did (he is the one I'd like to ask if he has traded before) without actually reading and understanding what the author is telling you. This is a complete guide, TDBD expounds on his teachings. Get both books for the different perspectives they offer.
Like I said, this is the Laconic version of TDBD, and, like the Spartans from which "Laconic" is derived-this book is efficient and powerful.

5 comments about Trading Spreads and Seasonals.
- Here is the thing that makes Ross's book particularly outstanding. When we trade spreads, the only data we can use is the closing price. The exchanges do not report the intraday ranges of spreads.
Ross's book is the best one for explaining how to use close only charts for trading. Its very simple, cuts out tons of useless noise many indicators thrive on. Ross gives a good introduction to this high profit, low risk Speculation arena. Ross explains how to use an indicator to filter spread trades, You may find that Stochastics works better. Ross principles are the same. Assuming you did your homework with Reminiscences, Ross's book and some up to date seasonal Spread charts is all you need to make your first winning trade. Ross offers an easy-to-read guide teaching traders how to use historically consistent trading patterns to capitalize on the opportunities offered by seasonal spread trading. Joe covers how to find trades, filter them using technical indicators, how to place orders and manage your spread trade after entry. When you make some profits, read the rest of the available spread books. Buy books when you are winning!
- Joe introduces filters and how to use technical indicators. You should update to Lane's %D Stochastics. This is a trading manual not a book about trading.
- "Secrets!"
If you have gotten this far by choice or accident, you have stumbled onto the most profitable way to make a living with the least amount of margin in the field of speculation. Ross' refers to seasonal spreads as a "closely guarded secret." Many books about trading assume that you are starting out with many thousands of dollars earned somewhere else. This little known facet of the commodities market is ideal for people who have a steady income and want to earn a second income trading a small amount of capital. The key here is supplemental income. You have to find a way to keep your day-to-day needs for income separate from your program of wealth building. You have to find a way to keep your spending from increasing just because you are making a bundle trading. Seasonal Spreads are how many new traders build up a large trading account in a short time, starting with a hardly any capital in the commodities market. In high school you should have become familiar with the "Ten Multiples." Let me refresh your memory. Mony grows geometrically. How much do you have when you double one thousand dollars ten times? 1. 2,000.00 2. 4,000.00 3. 8,000.00 etc. If you can save $20.00 a week and you will have that first thousand dollars in less than a year. Now the thing is this. People often talk about a Million dollars as being a lot of Mony. But really, do the math. Let's see what the flow-of-sums returns. How much income per week will you have if you had one million dollars invested (not in spreads)? You will find that you can easily exceed a Millionaire's income with a small amount of trading capital, perpetually in seasonal spreads. Ok what is the minimum trail to your first successful trade. At a minimum 1. "Reminiscences of a stock Operator," "Reminiscences," gets into the details of Speculation and details you must thoroughly understand if you are considering making a living Speculating in securities. 2. "Ross's Spreads and Seasonals," for in-depth technical analysis and trading tactics. With these tools, You should soon be able to enter and exit your first seasonal spread at a profit.
- I think Joe did an excellent job of describing what seasonal/seasonal spreads are, but gave me little in the way of new ideas for trading them, or new research into spreads that really work. Most traders would be much better off with a subscription to Moore Research if they already know they would like to trade futures in this manner.
- Unfortunately nothing new at all: Bollinger Bands, RSI and typical chart patterns. Unprofessional lay out, a lot of unused space and many peripatetic explanations. Maybe some ideas for absolute beginners. I will short this book and rather spend the money on a new Harry Potter novel.

- Good review of options and futures trading. Each section is just 2-3 (short) pages, usually with an example or two, which makes the book very easy to pick up and read a little at a time. Since each section is so short, it also serves as a useful quick reference.
For more detailed reading on options/futures trading, I'd suggest finding another book. Use this mainly for quick reference, or as a refresher.
- short, concise, and to the point. I'm not a 5 star person so I may be a bit harsh

1 comments about Naked Puts: Power Strategies for Consistent Profits.
- If you are thinking about becoming a paid member of the authors' website this book may be for you. The book explains how to use the web site for picking option plays and tracking them. The cost is $59.95 per month.
If you are looking for a book that explains how to trade naked puts, this is not the book for you. The information supplied is very basic. A better book to learn the basics is The Options Playbook.
If you want a good book that explains how to sell naked puts and use covered calls to generate cash, I highly recommend the book Generate Thousands in Cash on your Stocks Before Buying or Selling Them: Third Edition. This book not only has many real life examples of actual trades, it will also get you excited about doing similar trades that work. I have been using the method and it does work.
One other comment about the book Naked Puts. The last chapter summarizes how much you would have made if you followed the option trades that the software recommended for one year from April 2006 to April 2007. Under the moderate strategy you would have made an annual return of 10.4%, under the conservative strategy you would have earned 6.2% and under the agressive strategy you would have lost -2.4%. These returns did not include brokerage which would reduce them. The number of trades that you would have made during this time frame was astronimical, 83 for moderate, 233 for conservative, and 184 for aggressive.
I can tell you from personal experience, you can do a lot better than these returns.
Save your money and your time.
