1 comments about PMA, science of success.
- I was initially reticent about buying this course, since I didn't want to find out that I had just bought a re-hash of other Napoleon Hill books. I was very pleasantly surprised with the textbook (I own a used copy, the 1983 Educational Edition), which contains a LOT of new material, and I actually had several "A-HA!" moments that gave me a greater understanding of "Think & Grow Rich" & his other titles; an example this new material I found is in Lesson 6: Personal Initiative, paragraphs 107-128, a VERY detailed account of how a fellow named E.H. Brett came up with an idea, made a definite plan with which to carry it out, and then went on to carry it out step-by-step...and the steps are right there for the reader to follow! This book is worth every penny of the price, and I believe it's worth a LOT more than that - I'm already applying it to my career, and it is making a big difference in how I plan each next step in the achievement of my goals. As in other books by Hill, he often restates the importance of the Mastermind Principle, Personal Initiative and the other lessons in his philosophy; rather than being simply repetitive, each mention fits well within the context of each lesson. In all, Napoleon Hill's ideas are best described as being wonderful instructions for learning how to express and act on your ideas and goals in a clear, step-by-step manner; yes, it can be applied to money, and most often is, but it applies to any goals, no matter what they are.

5 comments about A Lifetime of Riches: The Biography of Napoleon Hill.
- Hill's "Think & Grow Rich" may be the best self-help book ever written. So many of his readers will be glad to have any biography about him, even though this first one came 25 years after his death. I commend the authors for not whitewashing Hill, but there is so much missing. A major reason T&GR has become a classic is its underlying spiritual outlook. When Hill was a young man New Thought was blooming in America and he must have been influenced by such books as "In Tune With the Infinite." There is virtually no mention of Hill's spiritual development in the book. Hill commented constantly on how Andrew Carnegie gave him a 20-year commission to study and interview successful people, that Carnegie would provide letters of introduction to Hill and pay his travel expenses. If this is so, there must be at least one letter of introduction filed away somewhere. The authors quote none. Suppose Hill made that up. I don't think it cancels the value of his great book but it sure belongs in a biography. Finally, there is so little readily available about Hill, why not provide a bibliography of the magazines, newspapers and books where the best interviews and comments on Hill's work exist. Still, I recommend this book as valuable and interesting because there is nothing else.
- Having been a student of Napoleon Hill for many years I find Hill's own writing both brilliant, and inspirational.
Through this book I have come to learn Hill is human too, he had to learn some of his lessons the hard way. While the book lacks the brilliant motivational style of Hills own writing, we must remember that it is a biography. I question that Napoleon Hill could have been quite as honest about his life and some of its tragedies if he had written the book himself. A Lifetime Of Riches provides good insight to the life of the man who has been such an inspiration to so many people, myself included. It offers a chronological view of the life of Hill. Granted, some of the detail of Hill's actual formulation of the success philosophy is missing. Still, the book reminds us that we strive for progress not perfection. If we fall down we must get back up. My thanks to Mr Ritt, Mr Landers, and The Napoleon Hill Foundation for giving me the opportunity to have a greater understanding of Napoleon Hill.
- When I first saw this book on the shelf I didn't hesitate to purchase it. I was an avid reader of Napoleon Hill's books and was always curious about his life. That curiousity has been somewhat satisfied by reading this biography of him written the executive director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
A Lifetime of Riches chronicles the roller coaster life of one of the pioneers of success programs. Born of modest circumstances Napoleon Hill rose to become one of the greatest promoters of personal and material success. His rise to fame didn't come easy. In fact he would fail many times but would get right up again for another try. His tenaciousness, vision and audacity to try new ideas are the hallmarks of a personality that wouldn't accept defeat. Authors Michael Ritt and Kirk Landers provide the reader with a view of a man who had both his faults and weaknesses. Hill is obsessed with his mission for success and unfortunately placed everything else (including his wife and children) as third or fourth place. He paid for that mistake but still was able to bounce back in his later life. I certainly enjoyed this book for its realistic portrayal of Hill (he was both saint and sinner) in both his good times and bad times. From his life the reader can learn it is never to late to start over regardless of age ( this was true of Hill and his father), financial setbacks or other impediments. Hill's life sets the standard for success even if it appears to allude you in time it will come. A Lifetime of Riches is a good book to get some idea of Hill's life but it is not very detailed. Much of its information comes from Hill's unpublished "autobiography". Absent are any interviews or insight from those who worked with him. Very little is mentioned about his estrangement with his father and brothers or his importance in history as part of the motivational industry that is now a thriving industry. Perhaps someday more details will be given but for now enjoy this work of one of life's greatest motivators.
- I couldn't put the book down. Mr. Hill sure had a "roller coaster" of life, like so many of us experience. Think and Grow Rich is a classic and very well may of helped more people to financial success than any other book ever written. I have read and apllied it to my life. His persistence and focus on achieving his goals will have a major impact on the reader. The author did a wonderful job of sharing a lot of knowledge about Mr. Hill's life that completely blew me away.
- A Lifetime of Riches, a biography of Napoleon Hill, is a book that I had a natural bias to like, being a believer in the basic principles of Think and Grow Rich.
I was however greatly disappointed in the telling of the story of Napoleon Hill's life. One would have thought that the creator of probably the most successful self-help book of all time would have had an interesting path to be able to create such a historical book.
The author, while stating that he had an extensive working relationship with Mr. Hill, never seems to really capture the essence of the man.
There are extensive gaps in Mr. Hill's biography that are neither addressed due to a lack of knowledge or research. Fairly bold statements made by Mr. Hill are never vetted in the book. Finally the concept of Think and Grow Rich was a study of many successful individuals to determine the patterns and practices in their lives which caused them to manifest success in their lives. Nowhere in the book does it seem to address this integral research in other than barely a mention here and there.
That all being said, if you are a true student of the works Napoleon Hill, I grudgingly recommend that you read the this book absent any other biography of his life in that it will place into context some aspects of the life of this interesting and somewhat flawed creator.

- I have read this book 5 times and have started again. I have given this book as a gift no less than 10 times over the last 15 years. This book will explain why there are those who succeed and those who don't. I promise this book will change your life for the better, but this book comes with directions... as you read "Think and grow rich" it will make you think. So when this happens, and it will happen several times, stop reading and think. If you don't stop and contemplate what you have just read, you will miss what your about reading next. Don't hesitate to read the same paragraph over and over again. Also and most importantly, when your done reading Think and grow rich.... READ IT AGAIN. Why, because by the time you are done reading "Think and Grow Rich", you will have grown so much mentally, that when you read it again you will get something else out of it that will take you to the next level, hence the reason I am on my 6th reading, and I can't put it down. Its 6 bucks, Buy it! And when your done reading it, share the gift and buy one for a friend. Dan K
- I have to admit, 'Think and Grow Rich,' by Napoleon Hill was an interesting read. However, I do not expect to gain wealth simply because I read the book. Unfortunately, reality dictates that there's only a few ways to get rich; hard work, creativity, talent, inheritance and/or winning the lottery. I think most of us (especially American's) have gotten away from living the life of our dreams. I think; except for lottery winners and those who are privy to an inheritance, money or the constant pursuit of money, keeps most of us from understanding or nurturing our true talent. Money and/or success have always come second to love of career and/or profession. If you don't believe that just take a look at the history, success and personality of self-made billionaires. Most of them love what they're doing so much, that they were willing to risk everything for their chosen careers. And that says a lot about personal success and the riches that sometimes follow! Maybe the title should be, 'Think of a Career You Love and One Day You May Grow Rich.'
- This is the revised 1960 edition of Think and Grow Rich. This book is a true classic! Next to the Bible, this is my favorite book. Think and Grow Rich is one of the greatest self-help books ever. This book embodies Andrew Carnegie's philosophy of achievement which can help an individual to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. I discovered Think and Grow Rich when I read former world champion and International Boxing Hall of Famer Ken Norton's autobiography entitled Going the Distance. Norton shared in his book that he read Think & Grow Rich and it changed his life. Norton's book states he was prescribed to read Think & Grow Rich after he suffered his first boxing defeat and had to start over. He then went on a fourteen fight winning streak and beat Muhammed Ali for the title.

5 comments about The New Think & Grow Rich: An Unauthorized Re-Presentation of Napoleon Hill's Success Classic.
- When I was told that the timeless classic Think and Grow Rich was re-written, I was thinking to myself "This must be a joke. Who else could do a better job than Hill? It is just like Dan Brown trying to rewrite The Bible, and I am sure Mr. Brown would get a lot of good laughs!"
I was not even going to buy the New TGR.
It all changed...
I was honored enough to meet Ted once again at a recent seminar. We got talking, and I started to know this man more and more and I realised that he is MORE than an Internet Marketer. His views on wealth and personal development stir my interests to get a copy of the New TGR.
I ordered it just before Christmas, and I am on Chapter 5 now, and boy, I got to tell you that it really does hit home with me. The impacts of the New TNG really really inspire me more than any other Personal Development books out there, including the original TGR. The original TGR is good, but somehow it never "sticks" into my soul as much as the New TGR (just me maybe)...
But when the New TGR is with me, I am like on fire. I read the darn thing every single day!! No joke!
There are many statements in the New TGR that really touch me, like
"I could have been born here..."
"Why don't you try to prove that the priciples of TGR work instead of the opposite...?".
Man, geee, this thing is awesome!
There are a lot more to list...
But what really got me to write this testimonial for Ted, without him even asking, was that he truly immersed himself in Hill's lifetime work and practised the Hill's 13th principle, ie "The Sixth Sense" to bring out the New Think and Grow Rich!
Thanks Ted!
- In 1937, right in the middle of the depression, Napoleon Hill wrote the original book 'Think and Grow Rich.' It was a best seller and it set Hill off to writing a whole series of books on the same general subject. The original book, and all the others are still in print.
However, in the seventy yesrs since the publication of the original book: the language has become somewhat old fashioned, the situation regarding the world markets, the development of the Internet, the acceptance of female and minority members in business -- Much has changed.
In this new edition of the book, Ted Ciuba has taken the old book and re-written it to covers these new points. The book reads better and has more up to date ideas while it still conveys the tone and usefullness of the original.
Note that the Napoleon Hill Foundation did not prepare, approve, license or endorse this version of the book.
- For the 'next generation' in personal achievement, turn to a new version of Napoleon Hill's long-time best-selling 'Think and Grow Rich'. This is more than just a revamp with modern examples - it radically transforms the vision by adding new gender, cross-cultural and international issues to the mix, including new material to include both science and genetics, as in the Quantum reality of accelerating income and wealth. An excellent re-do of a classic financial inspirational guide, any library where Hill's been a popular patron pick must have this latest version.
- "Powerful, Enlightening, Empowering! Ted Ciuba's "The New Think and Grow Rich" is a powerful book with enlightening concepts that will empower readers on their way to achieving harmonic abundance. This is one book that is a must read and for personal study as well as an important addition for the home and business library!" Bruce Goldwell, co-author "Mastery of Abundant Living"
- When I read Napolean Hill's original I found myself wanting more contemporary examples as well as the historic giants. I am half-way through this version. Although I like contemporary examples presented in this book and, overall, the updates to language, etc. I am hestitant to recommend it because it too often reads like an adverstisment. For example, on the bottom of every page is the advertisement "BONUS! 3 FREE Wealth-Building Gifts Worth $97 at ***.com". Once on a cover page or at the end would do. But every page? Inserted into the text are frequent advertisements to visit this same website to browse for more information. Then it seems that the only current idea worth pursuing as presented by this book is the internet. About which, by the way, you can find more information at the author's website.
I also found myself bothered by the author's rant in chapter 6 against "radicals", "racketeers", "dishonest politicians", "crooked labor leaders", "religious leaders" and any form of socialization to help the poor because they are "deadbeat" welfare beneficiaries. The author puts for the thesis that captialistic economics cannot be "swayed, influenced, or bribed by racketeers, lobbyisists, or self-appointed leaders in any calling." Predatory practices are brought to light and prosecuted every day by the people the author denigrates, most practicies being targeted at the poor and elderly. The thing I appreciated about "Your Money or Your Life" by Dominguez and Robin, another pathway to financial freedom, is their focus on social concerns hand in hand with improvement of you financial position. Perhaps the author is a strong supporter of private concerns and only has a problem with government socialization. But I found the lack of a presentation about social awareness and the only way to benefit society is by capitalistic production and personal profit problematic. After all, Benjamin Franklin donated what could have been a very lucrative invention the lightening rod to society to benefit all men.
So if you want a more contemporary version of "Think and Grow Rich", read this book for the good, updated information. Ignore the interuptive advertisements. Then read "Your Money or Your Life" by Dominguez and Robin to figure out why you want to be rich and what to do with your wealth after.

3 comments about How to Sell Your Way Through Life: Highly Proven to Help Make Millionaires!.
- I am continually fascinated by the great works of the late, great Napolean Hill. Being familiar with Hill, I was surprised to find this title, one which I never heard of before on my favorite books tore shelf. I appears that with the renewed interest in personal development, pma and motivation, many of Hill's previously published works are resurecting. And I am glad for that.
This booki s divided into two sections, 21 chapters and over 200 pages. It is pure meat, no nonsense. Great stuff from the master himself. In particular, the chapter on the top qualities of the master salesman and insights into Henry Ford's philosophy were outstanding.
I know some of Napolean Hill's detracters will attack this book based on it's age, but this information is timeless. And who wouldn't want to take a peek into the minds of great business/salesmen like Henry Ford? This book shows you how.
There is a lot of talk today about consultative selling techniques. In How To Sell Your Way Through Life, particularly in chapters 10 and 11, Hill talks about consultive selling, qualifying the prospect and neutralizing your prospective buyers mind.
In chapter 12, The Art of Closing The Sale, Hill explains how to close sales and how to keep them closed; produce happy customers and practilly eliminate buyers remorse. He tells an interesting story of a cadillac car salesman from Maryland and how these strategies made a huge difference.
Of course some of the information will be familiar to Hill fans like The MAster Mind strategy and others. Overall a great book by a great man. Must reading for all serious salespeople.
- This book was strongly recommended by Jeffrey Gitomer, author of The Sales Bible. Jeffrey said that the only complaint he had was that he didn't write it and that it was in his opinion the best sales book ever written, even better than his own books.
This book has some of the same content as Succeed and Grow Rich Through Persuasion but also has much more information as well. When I first saw it I thought it was the same book with a different title.
This book is more like the psychology of selling. You won't find any fancy, smancy selling technique in here. Read Tommy Hopkins for that. There are chapters on qualifying your prospect and closing the sale, but this book more than anything, shows you the person you have to become to become a great salesperson.
To wit, both Tom Hopkins and Jeffrey Gitomer, probably the two greatest sales trainers in the world today place a great deal of emphasis in their training to attitude and personal development in addition to sales techniques. No one teaches attitude better than Napolean Hill.
The bulk of the material is in part I. In part two, Hill tells us how to develop a sales personality, how to find a job and even how to create a job and how to manage your time. The final chapter, chapter 21 tells us how to put it all together.
Overall, I was very impressed with How To Sell Your Way Through Life. And a recommendation from no less than Jeffrey Gitomer stands on it's own merit. Read this along with Tom Hopkins How To Master The Art of Selling and Gitomers The Sales Bible and you can't go wrong.
- I own a pretty extensive library of books on Sales & Marketing, plus 7 other books by Napoleon Hill (Including Selling You!, which offers excerpts from this book). It was actually Selling You! that encouraged me to buy this book. The excerpt on qualifying prospective buyers was just so condensed and direct and useful (like most of Napoleon Hill's writing) that I went to a local book store and browsed through How to Sell Your Way Through Life: Highly Proven to Help Make Millionaires!. The simple fact of the matter is that regardless of how many Napoleon Hill books you own, if you are in Sales...either as your full-time vocation or as the primary driver of new business in your own company...you need this book.
As others have pointed out, the "meat" of the book...what makes it essential...is in Part One:
Definition of Salesmanship
You Need Intelligent Promotion To Succeed
The Strategy of Master Salesmanship
Qualities The Master Salesman Must Develop
Auto-Suggestion, Your First Step In Salesmanship
The Master Mind
Your Improved Concentration
Initiative and Leadership
Qualifying Your Prospective Buyer
Neutralizing Your Buyer's Mind
The Art of Closing the Sale
The above chapters fill the first 136 pages. The remaining half of the book focuses on material largely found in other Hill books such as Think and Grow Rich!: The Original Version, Restored and Revised, as well as advice on choosing / creating your job and time management.
So many modern Sales authors have dipped their cup in Hill's well...Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Jeffrey Gitomer...you probably can't name a single author of merit who has not.
Highly recommended, essential reading.
