- --look for something newer, or at least Think and Grow Rich. This book was originally published in '71 but reads like a florid self-help book of the '50s. Extremely religious and heterosexist.
- A truly amazing little book. Having experienced it's truths, I highly recommend adding this to your success library. Everyone of Mr. Hill's books add to the insight originally presented in Think and Grow Rich. As Mr. Hill advanced through life, so did his understanding of these principles. Mr. Hill's work has stood the test of time. There is no magic or hype. No infomercials or flashy web sites. Just solid principles that have been proven to work. Read it, enjoy it and use it! Apply these principles to your life and watch the miracles happen!
- I suppose everyone has read or heard about Napolean Hill's most famous work--Think and Grow Rich. You can work your own miracles will teach you how the miraculous power that lies within your own personality.
Dr. Hill explains that success belongs to those lucky people who are blessed with successful personalities. With these outstanding human beings, success is a daily miracle, a way of life, a habit. Businesspeople, preachers, doctors, soldiers, artists---people in every walk of life---are learning to achieve their goals, to overcome all obstacles to their success, to live the live they want...through the miraculous power of the successful personality. By following the techniques in Dr. Hill's book, you can become one of these people.
- Create your own miraacles is an outstanding book that will lay the foundation for your success. This book came out in 1971. The message is timeless.

- It was about retraining your thoughts. I received one good idea from it, which was more of a reminder. And that was to write out; what you want, how you plan on getting it and how much your willing to give/do to get it.
- I agree with the review about the misprints. There were so many blatant errors that it affected the readability. The proof reader should have been transferred to another job.
- This is my third reading of Think and Grow Rich. This time I am reading it not as a novel but more of a teaching book. Take the lessons to heart and do them as stated in the book. If you read it like I did the first two times it won't get you very far. I am really excited about where it is taking me now.
- After finishing "Think and Grow Rich" I have suddenly realized that this simple slogan is the single way of life in a capitalist society. In this book, as the only way of getting rich, the author advocates goal-directed way of life, purposefulness, constant self-perfection, courage, the skill to think and to act, and the other similar traits of character.
Many people came to a conclusion that the wealth, in some extent, depends on a level of education, motivation, self-esteem, and so on. The problem is that not all the people in equal extend incline to the education, to their self-improvement. This is because of the differences of their needs, habits, abilities, capabilities, and so on. Leo Tolstoy in his novel "Resurrection" arose a question of how to improve the level of education within a society: from inside of each individual or from outside? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Should first the level of education of each and every individual be risen which yields a revolution (dialectic transition of quantity into quality) or the revolution should make the environment to foster the education of every individual?
The traits advocated by Napoleon Hill correspond to the first Leo Tolstoy's way of improving society. If each and every individual will improve, the society will automatically improve. The second way of Leo Tolstoy (create the environment which will foster the education of every individual) is contrary to Napoleon Hill's ideas: "if something is got for free or without big effort, it won't be appreciated, won't be handled with care or you won't trust it". Free education and medical care won't be respected properly by people, regardless how good this education and medical care are. That's why the socialist society will develop slower than capitalist. Marxists knew this and have built the concept of World revolution (to overthrow of capitalism in all countries), and a further idea by Trotsky that it was impossible to build socialism in a single country. Trotsky wrote that the socialist economy is not as efficient as capitalist and without the World revolution the USSR won't be able to overcome its economic underperformance.
Napoleon Hill praises the freedom and opportunities of the capitalist society of the U.S. in particular, which gives, according to Napoleon Hill, boundless opportunities for an individual who is able to think and grow rich.
I also recommend "The Road to Serfdom" by F. A. Hayek in addition to this book. Although "Think and Grow Rich" is a classical self-help book for a general reader while "The Road to Serfdom" is mostly academic, I think that both of them should be read.
- Think and Grow Rich is a classic in the business world. Napoleon Hill not only lays out for you the thought patterns of the rich and successful, but he gives you specific actions to take to make these thought patterns your own. If followed diligently, Mr. Hill's advice will change how you think about money, yourself and your life. I give this book as a gift to my adult children who are getting ready to make a life for themselves. It is essential reading for any one who is determined to be successful.

- This is the original classic personal-growth and wealth-building book that all the self-help "Guru"s have been copying and imitating. Buy this and learn from the original. Buy this and learn the classic techniques the new-age thinking was built on, and that the "New-Wage" hucksters imitate without crediting it.
- A little dated but his kind of information is timeless. Positive thinking to the max. Wonderful, simple book that sets forth basic principles for living a prosperous, healthly life.

- This is a good CD. I own it and have listened to it a few times. Earl Nightingale gives a clear summary of Think and Grow Rich. To me, Napoleon Hill is the greatest success author/speaker ever and Think and Grow Rich is the single greatest book I have ever read. However, a part of this particular CD feels like an advertisement and could have been skipped. Also, the editorial reviews and the narrator of this CD talk about 13 principles. This could sometimes be the cause of confusion. Hill organized 13 Steps Toward Riches (in Think and Grow Rich) and 17 Principles of Personal Achievement (in his courses and lectures), also referred to as 17 Keys to Success. This CD talks about the 13 Steps in T&GR.
I would recommend this CD to you only after you have heard the 9 CD set that contains twelve hours worth of live lectures in Napoleon Hill's own voice. The set is called Your Right To Be Rich and was recorded in 1954 in Chicago. In this, Napoleon Hill talks about each of his seventeen Principles of Personal Achievement. The set is amazingly inexpensive and well worth the investment in cost, time and effort.
If my review was helpful to you, I request you to select "Yes" so that the rating is improved and more readers will get to read it.
- This is a unique book, though written to help become financially independent, the principles may be used to help achieve anything you may want to have in life or want to become.
May start with the short CD (about 45 minutes) on this book read by Earl Nightingale, or 2 hour version read by Joe Slattery.
- I have bought Napoleon Hill's book some month ago. I have tried to read it, but for a non native English speaker it is pretty difficult, therefore I gave up. But when I found this audio book I thought to give it a try. I liked the audio book. I liked all the principles and I am thinking to give a try and test them. Some of them look a little bit strange for a European, but as long as a lots of people consider Napoleon Hill like the father of motivational literature, should be something behind. A great note is also the lecture of Earl Nighthingale and also the sound like an old radio show gives you the impression that old good thinking is still valid in these days.
- It is a simpler distilled version of the great book that has been around all of our lives. If you've read it, this is a great reminder of what you may have gotten out of the habit of doing. If you've never read Think and Grow Rich, it is a terrific introduction. Nothing fancy or new. A simple, to the point version of a classic self help book that rings as true today as it ever has. And that Earl Nightingale has a hell of a voice.

5 comments about The Master-Key to Riches.
- Though the book is sometimes a little difficult to understand it nicely lays out the THOUGHT PROCESS of a successful person - not just financially but in other aspects of life as well. It takes patience to read this one, but if you get what Napolean Hill is trying to put through (over 20 years of research of the most successful individuals) you are really getting a MASTER KEY to riches by understanding the SUCCESS PRINCIPLES!
- After reading Thinkand grow rich I really liked Mr. Hill but found some of his teachings strange. This book on the other hand was great, it had good info and it made a point (that the master key to riches is your mind). I really enjoyed this book. One problem is that much of the teachings come from a new age background, without going into great detail I will just say that one should use disernment while reading this book it has great stuff but also some dangerous stuff.
- You have to have a certain level of maturity or fandom to really appreciate Napoleon Hill. Many of the pearls of wisdom he has only make sense in hindsight. If you're adding this book to your Napoleon Hill collection, you'll love it.
If you've never read Hill before, you might have a hard time adjusting to him... and in that case, this review is meant for you.
The subject of this book is supposedly the business philosophy of Andrew Carnegie, as requested by Carnegie. I don't think this essay was quite what he wanted, though. The book may have some jewels of ideas in it, but it's so horribly written that they'll slip past you without notice, or be so mangled that you just won't care.
I don't really have the overly paranoid "Satan-is-coming!" view of this book that the reviewer a few slots before me does, but I suggest you read his qualms - it's a good overview of the truly weird New Age-ish approach this book takes. Instead of saying, "Be grateful for what you've got," Mr. Hill suggests you sit down with an imaginary "Eight Princes" around a table once a day, each named for something you're grateful for, and thank them. Um. Yeah. Loads of that sort of thing in here.
And the whole book reads like an infomercial. "We'll get to the Master Key soon... but first... let me tell you about this other exciting opportunity!" In fact, he tells you the Master Key in the very last sentences of the book(!), I suppose so you'll bother to read the rest.
The Master Key is absolutely a golden idea, truly. I just wouldn't suggest *this* book as an introduction to it.
Spoiler: don't read the rest of this review if you don't want to know the juicy tidbits.
The important ideas that this book actually gives you:
1) The Master Key: "You are in control of your own mind." You're in control of everything from which commercial music it listens to, to what your purpose will be in life and how you plan to get there. It may take a month or two of contemplation to truly "get" this and realize how powerful it can be.
2) "Going the extra mile." This is great for business; my roommate just got an award with exactly those words written on it.
3) "Positive Mental Attitude." This is SO important to health, opportunities, and quality of life, but Mr. Hill's ramblings don't go into all of that. Most of his chapters' ideas -- "When you're ready, an opportunity will appear," "Have faith in the outcome," "Do it, and you'll have the power," "The universe will align itself to your purposes," etc. -- are ALL wrapped up in this one principle, but even he didn't seem to understand it was all *perspective* and not some sort of mysterious "law of cosmic habitforce" (yes, he actually uses phrases like that!!!).
In conclusion: Get this book if you're interested in digging up info about Carnegie. Otherwise, get "The New Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns; "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey; and "Learned Optimism" by Martin Seligman - to learn the points above, respectively, in a much less confusing manner.
- The Master Key to Riches is 209 pages and 10 chapters of wisdom. Someof what was in Think & Grow Rich is in here and there is much that is not.
In this great book you will learn: * The 12 riches of life * The 8 princes * Definiteness of purpose * The habit of going the extra mile * Love, the true emancipator of mankind * The Master Mind * Applied Faith * The law of cosmic habitforce * Self-Discipline and much more. The Master Key to Riches is based on the Andrew Carnegie formula for money making. Updated and modern from Think & Grow Rich, The Master Key to Riches describles in step by step detail todays greatest practical philosophy of success. This amazing philosophy, organized from the success experiences of hundred's of the the world's most powerful and wealthy men, will show you how to succeed in any walk of life. Read this book. The Master Key to Riches will change your whole life....for the better.
- This book contains much of the same material as his other books I've read: Think and Grow Rich, and Law of Success. These same concepts have been used by virtually every motivational prophet ever since. The cool thing about Hill, he pioneered this stuff in the early 20th century. I'm quite sure he made a bundle from his great books, and deservedly so.
Obviously the advise given in this genre of book will be of absolutely no value unless applied step by step. Take the necessary steps and you will see a great change in your life. Whether or not you will become financially wealthy--who knows. One thing for certain, you'll be better off than you would have had you not taken the steps outlined.
