5 comments about The FMEA Pocket Handbook.
- This pocket handbook compliments the other Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) information that I have been able to locate. The handbook contains definitions, types of FMEA, Basic concepts and tools, a FMEA process outline, prerequisites and preparations, the process in detail (flow charts), corrective action, forms/tables, and examples, all in a 40 page pocket sized handbook. Very useful for the working logistician.
- It was great and easy to undrestand. Also it was short and straight to the point.
I liked it and I also baught the Kaizen pocket handbook.
-
The FMEA Pocket Handbook is an excellent pocket handbook that is easy to understand and is straight to the point. Despite its small size, it is packed with useful information, concepts and ideas required to employ FMEA. This is a valuable and treasured addition to my library.
This is a well organized handbook that contains the essential elements of what one needs to know and understand about FMEA. It is a fantastic quick reference guide that has the beauty of being small, thereby enabling us to carry it anywhere. It is like a friend that is always there for you in times of need.
- The price to value ratio is poor. The content of this tiny booklet is available on the internet for free while the layout and press quality are amateurish at best.
- It's a very helpful manual to use in a day to day basis. It's going to help me on my presentations on FMEA's training courses.

5 comments about Online Bookselling: A Practical Guide with Detailed Explanations and Insightful Tips.
- This book is incredibly detailed and honest. It goes into the practical nuts and bolts of a small book-selling business: taxes, bookshelves, packing, inventory, cleaning the books, customer relations and basic business math.
It doesn't provide any quick-and-easy answers to getting new inventory -- the bottom line is that no matter what you do, it requires legwork, but the book really goes into detail about what legwork needs to be done.
By the way, the book is preview-able on books.google.com, where you can read maybe 25-50% of it. Still, it's definitely worth the purchase if you're interested in this business.
- A very practical book for those wanting to start an online bookselling
business. Details from A-Z on how to establish yourself as an online bookseller with great resource info and tips and how to avoid pitfalls.
I would have liked to have seen more info in the way of what types of books to buy (categories of books) that might sell well. There are a few remarks about which ones to try to avoid, but not enough on which types to look for. Otherwise a very detailed and useful book.
- I probably purchased every book on selling books online. The book by Michael E. Mould, if purchased first, would have saved me a lot of money and frustration. He has answered every question I could have asked about selling books online in a concise easy to understand format. I have used many of his suggestions from scheduling my time to pricing and grading my inventory and much more in-between. His impressions of where to sell my books was useful since I was already signed up with Amazon but had not begun to sell anything. He gave me the confidence to know I had made the right decision in choosing Amazon. His knowledge of the proper tools and procedures for saving me from wasting a lot of time has been very helpful.
I am a senior citizen and the less I have to handle the inventory the better. That's one of the best suggestions I took away from the book. Thank you, Mr. Mould
Ila J.
- Michael Mould covers every detail for those who are interested in online bookselling (as a hobby or a business). I keep this book on my desk and refer to it frequently. Personally, I found the photographs on packaging and shipping to be very interesting (and vital, considering some of his own USPS experiences and insights). He even provides an informative "A Day in the Business" section detailing his own daily bookselling procedures. Very helpful. I have yet to see another bookselling guide to offer such detailed information or step-by-step illustration.
- Michael Mould deserves serious kudos from the world of used booksellers. This book is extremely thorough and gives fantastic nuts and bolts advice. Mike is both rational and encouraging--he avoids the hype of "start-ups" which allows his book to be genuine and open-minded. His "day in the life" anticipates the "basic" questions and his lists of services and weblinks are very helpful. I also highly recommend buying copies that come with the CD "Bookkeeping for Booksellers". That Mike shares all the work he has done is generosity on a karmic scale. Not only is the book helpful, but Mike has created and inspired a large and collaborative community of booksellers through his work. Thanks, Mike, for pointing the way.

5 comments about Investing in One Lesson.
- With over 20 years in the financial business, I'm frequently asked to review new investment books.
Most of the time, I pass simply because they aren't up to snuff.
But "Investing In One Lesson" by Dr. Mark Skousen is different. Not only is it up to snuff, but Skousen clearly lays out how money moves and why.
In the process, he covers several must understand topics that are relevant for today's investors including theories surrounding "efficient" markets, investor psychology, and the misconceptions that play into why stocks move and why they don't.
What makes this book a super read is that he breaks the subject down into manageable and understandable chunks that will be appreciated by all investors regardless of experience.
I've added the book to my personal library and encourage you to do so too.
Keith Fitz-Gerald
Investment Director - Money Morning
Editor - Money Map Report, New China Trader
- Dr Skousen gives ample advice for the beginning investor as well as one who constantly makes the same mistakes over time. He's like the clothing retailer who has something for the man who has two of everything or nothing and wants to get started. Of note, he uses the Thomas Sowell approach where he eschews the use of charts and graphs to make his points. As such, you the reader must be able to take his easy-to-understand messages and convert them to your own highest and best use.
Because the stock market is counter intuitive it's too difficult for most people who get caught up in its whirling emotional vortex. Its conflicting and confusing signals will always lead to that eternal dance between fear and greed which is enough to make anyone re-study the seven deadly sins in hopes of finding new wisdom in old places. Skousen makes it easy for the investor who will follow his logic by imploring same to invest in companies that pay dividends, both worthy and sound advice. he outlines the reasons for this and his points are erudite and on the money. The slippage occurs where investors cannot discipline themselves to stay in this mental and emotional channel for whatever the reasons affecting their investment decisions. Oh t'were investment advice so intersubjectively transmissable that we could be infused and respond, but alas we too often succumb to our hubristic impulses only to falter on the rocks of false reason. Dr Skousen gives good advice in this very short and easy to understand book. Heed it and prosper and remember that "inch by inch, life is a cinch, but yard by yard life is hard." Indeed!
- I found INVESTING IN ONE LESSON to be a helpful book. My son liked it also and asked for a copy. This replaces my copy I gave to him.
- This is a well written book about value investing. My favorite all time book on the subject is Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor, specially with the update by Mr. Zweig. However, I have given it to several friends and they haven't had the patience to go through it. This one covers many of the same points in a brief and concise manner. The example of the use of the Dogs of the Dow as a means of getting started was a neat way to get the value message across. I will probably start recommending this book instead of Graham's, because it is much more readable. If you want to learn to invest in value stocks this is one place to go.
Happy returns!
- It would be pointless to repeat all the great things about this book, such as explaining basic consepts of investing by very simple way and explaining many reasons for market fluctuations. Other reviewers have already pointed out the good things in this book, so I took the contrarian task to write about the (few) negative ones.
I think that the title simply promises too much. Already familiar with his magnificent book on the business cycle, "Structure of Production" and his monograph on investing, "Ludwig von Mises goes to Wall street", I was very happy when this title was released. Maybe I simply expected too much, because I was a little disappointed after reading this work. As a Hayek-Rothbardian libertarian geek I expected something like how to recognise bull and bear markets from the Money Supply data :)
In this book there is unfortunately very little about gold and commodities which is strange because of the ongoing strong bull market in these asset classes and because Skousen himself was one of the first gold bugs (although very reasonable one for his credit) in the 1970's. Maybe this is because Skousen has affiliated very much with stock market optimists like Jeremy Siegel whose WisdomTree Dividend funds he recommends (for Skousen's credit he has been superbullish on commodities in his newsletter "Forecasts & Strategies").
Summa summarum: easy to read, logical, but definitely not the last word on the subject... A good starting place for beginners and a great reference guide, but on the other hand contains maybe too little about recognising actually what to buy and why, especially if you want to buy ordinary stocks and not Mutual Funds. If you love Skousen's earlier works (like I do) you will find this one valuable and easily accessible anyway.

4 comments about PMP Flashcard Quicklet: Flashcards in a Book for Passing the PMP and CAPM Exams.
- I used this book along woth my PMP study guide, and found it very comprehensive and useful. Lot better than Rita's Hot Topics because this one is very self contained and covers more. Unlike Rita's book, It's not tied to a specific study guide. Helped me a lot in passing the exam. However, it's not an alternative to a study guide.
Highly recommended.
- This book is a great tool to pass the PMP Exam. Use it as a qucik review tool and not as a study guide. That said, it's very comprehensive and self contained. Simply excellent. I recommend it, highly.
- I found this flashcard book the best among the two such books available in the market. It presents the quick review of your PMP exam preparation in a self contained, comprehensive, and logical way. As a companion to the PMP Study Guide, this book really helped me in passing the exam. Of course you cannot expect it to be a substitute to the Study Guide.
- I used these Flashcards in a Book to pass my PMP exam. I love this approach of Flascards in a Book; they serve the same purpose as the loose flashcards, but these are easier to manage and carry around than the loose cards. I used these for a quick review of the concepts that I learned from the Study Guide. It saved me lots of time.
Plus these cards by Dr. Sanghera are very comprehensive and self contained.

5 comments about Zero Debt: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Freedom (Zero Debt) (Zero Debt).
- As a foreigner in United States, I have no idea how money works here... until I've read this book. I've always asked my co-workers how to increase credit scores and how to properly use a credit card, but I always get mixed answers (which are not all correct, by the way). I bought this book to help with my financial judgement and I'm pretty much satisfied with what I have read. The book has a 30 day checklist that you should do to get out of debt. I didn't feel pressured reading the whole book in one seating... I just took my time and read every chapter everyday, and applied what she tells you to do. Some of them doesn't apply in my situation, like when you're being abused by collectors (Thank heavens I'm not at that point yet), but most of the chapters really helped me. This book also opened a whole new interest for me in reading more about personal finance. As a young, single guy, I have yet to learn more about investments... but this is a good start.
- it may not be the best written book that I have read, but the basis of it is simple and easy to following. it gives you step by step ideas on ridding oneself of debt. the writer is successful in meeting the goals of this book
- Great book with a lot of good tips. The book helped me stay focus.
- The author paid off her debt by cashing in her $80,000 IRA and paid the rest off with her paycheck, interst and all. I don't have an $80k IRA or a Masters Degree or a job with a major tv network. If the system doesn't work for someone wealthy like her - then there really is something wrong! For the average middle class consumer though - who is maxed out on their credit cards - I find no relief in this book. Pretty much it says Just pay off your debt - double your payments even - find some way to make more money to do it. Why did she write a book? This doesn't tell me anything or help me in anyway.
- I have never read a book that has been dead on with reality. If anyone and I mean anyone wants to get out of debt and become well off this book will guide you there. However you better be ready to put your part in it to. I have read this book a few times just so that I wont wonder off into a spenders like I have done in the past. Lynette has guided and kept me on the track to success. YOU WILL NOT REGRET PURCHASING THIS BOOK!!!!

2 comments about American Landlord: Everything U Need to Know... about Property Management.
- If you are just starting out renting your home or not a fully equipped professional property manager or landlord, this may be for you. The best part is the 6 or so chapters on tenant screening, understanding credit report, eviction and criminal results as well as 2 chapters on the lease agreement. It also comes with an awesome CD-ROM with forms, agreements and laws that will definitely get you going in the right direction.
It's breath of fresh air to finally have something that I can understand. Take a look for yourself if you can browse a copy. I ordered a paperback for myself and wish they offered a hardcover version. It's actually an enjoyable book - even though its about being a landlord.
This is allegedly the first of many to come from McGraw-Hill - I hope they stick to what they say, because I hate to read and this one seemed to move quickly. I can barely stay awake with other real estate books. Don't take my word for it, just look at it for yourself.
- I am new to landlording and this book is great for learning how to screen a tenant and understand rental forms because of the step by step images and instructions. The cd alone is worth the $20 price tag which has a whole bunch of forms on it.

5 comments about Making Hard Cash in a Soft Real Estate Market: Find the Next High-Growth Emerging Markets, Buy New Construction--at Big Discounts, Uncover Hidden Properties, ... Private Funds When Bank Lending is Tight.
- Well done. And great timing. The only thing missing from this book is what most others lack - a detailed treatment of the evidence and extent of the real estate bubble, and guidance how to read changing market conditions. For this, I strongly recommend "Cashing in on the Real Estate Bubble" as a companion book. Cashing in on the Real Estate Bubble Together, both books should be all you need.
- My profession has lead me to read many, many real estate investing books and truth be told, most are mediocre at best -- this book is not one of those! I don't know either Ms. Patton, or Mr. Ryan, but I have read Ms. Patton's previous book and I think that this one is even better. In my opinion, Ms. Patton and Mr. Ryan have managed to put together a very timely, readable and informative book. Not just a rehash of the basics, this book offers information that actually advances the base of knowledge available to the average investor.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I should say that I am an attorney, real estate broker, investor, trainer, and author of another unique and highly readable book on real estate investing that can also be found here on Amazon -- The WealthLoop Series Beginner's Guide to Building Wealth Buying Houses: The Foolproof Roadmap to Real Estate Riches Without the Risks and Hassles of Landlording.
"Hard Cash In A Soft Real Estate Market," is a very good book that will jump you light years ahead of the average investor. I would suggest that you buy it if you are serious about making a success of real estate investing.
- Even if you are not a real estate investor you can understand these clear and structured techniques. You will learn strategies to take advantage of a good or "bad" market... and then, become an investor.
- This was not what I had hoped for. The real estate market is in a "Soft time" and I had expected some good advise for the current investment market. There is really none in this book. There are a couple of chapters on how not to be afraid to invest. One on seller financing and one on the subdivision development process. Nothing new or interesting or relevant for the individual investor.
- If you think books on real estate investments are dull and hard to understand, read MAKING HARD CASH IN A SOFT REAL ESTATE MARKET by Wendy Patton and Justin Ryan.
Their "let's sit down together and we'll talk you through it" approach will inspire readers to get involved in real estate investing and will give them the necessary information needed to take that first step.

5 comments about Building Biotechnology: Starting, Managing, and Understanding Biotechnology Companies - Business Development, Entrepreneurship, Careers, Investing, Science, Patents and Regulations.
- This is in response to the review stating that a book was bound upside down. I would like inform everyone that this was an isolated printer error and in no way reflects the Publishers attention to detail or concerns for quality. Occasionally a make-ready (set-up) copy slips though which is the likely scenario in this case. We (the printer) take full responsibility for any inconvenience or skewed review.
- I bought this book for a biotech project management class aside from the required books for the course and found it more helpful than any of the required books (not on project management, but as far as understanding the biotech industry). It provides a very good overview of the biotechnology industry that would be helpful for almost anyone touching this field - investors, professionals considering working in the field, patients considering a new drug therapy or participating in a clinical trial, doctors... I would recommend this book as an excellent first read to get the "lay of the land" followed up by more in-depth research in areas you need/want to know more about. By the way, my whole team ended up using the book to help them each prepare their part of our final project, which was a product development plan that took a novel cancer drug from phase 1 through commercialization. Thus you can see the scope of the book is quite broad and yet direct, the book is only 200 pages plus several useful Appendices (e.g. one is on careers in biotech and another provides and index of websites for different biotech areas).
- There are numerous typos, probably one every chapter. The idea behind this book is great, however the author has a very difficult way of explaining the concepts leaving you reading and re-reading sentences over and over again. There needs to be more depth, and a professional review to correct grammer, typo's, and perhaps write more coherently.
The book is good, I would own it, but it really needs major improvments.
- I have always been interested in the link between a good idea and successful business. This well written text supplies readers with a great overview of biotech, as well as nicely focused examples of the history of the field.
I spent a nice Saturday on the beach reading this book not knowing exactly what to expect. I received an easy to follow enjoyable read that was informative. I ended up reading the entire book twice as well as a number of select chapters numerous times. Each time a picked up the book I got something new out of it.
I would strongly recommend this for any Biotech professional as well as interested MBA students/professionals. It pulls together nicely a number of very important parts to creating a successful start up company (biotech included)
As a scientist my ungood grammar and lack of a more creative summary don't do this outstanding book justice. Worth every penny of $60.
- Great book for anyone considering or pursuing a career in biotech/pharma. It covers the basic biology, business and regulatory processes of the industry in a way that is very digestable for a wide array of readers with different backgrounds (i.e. scientists, business professionals, clinicians etc.)It's probably most appropriate for bioscience/business/medical/pharm students, professionals who are fairly new to the industry or to those who already work in the industry but would like to learn a bit more about the others areas of the sector that play significant roles in the research, development & eventually marketing of therapeutic medicines.
