- Into the Boardroom is a quick, easy read with lots of practical advice. For example, my charitable contributions were always random and small, but the advice of picking one organization and making a difference is great. I will also study their annual reports to check out the board members before I send the check. I borrowed this book from a friend and found it so empowering that I ordered my own copy...There are so many good ideas in the book I know I'll re-read it many times.
- This book contains in-depth information about what to expect in the boardroom. Learn from the real life experiences of dozens of board members. A must have book for present & future board members.
- Whether you are a seasoned Board veteran or looking for your first seat on a Corporate Board, this book is full of insightful information. I found it to be a great executive read - full of practical hands-on information and experiential antidotes from CEO's and Directors from America's most respected corporations. Recently, the dangers of the "good old boy" corporate board have made top headlines and contributed to the downfall of major Fortune 100 corporations. "Into the Boardroom" is packed with inside tips and sound advice that serves as a blueprint to guide the new generation of corporate boards to a higher level of success.
- Rarely do I spend the time to do a review but, I think that this book more than deserves it. If your curious about getting on a board and dont know where to start then this is the book for you.
BTW-I have no affiliation with the authors or make any money off the book. I just find it a great book.
- Into The Boardroom is a first-class primer for individuals aspiring to board service. With current emphasis for independent directors whose disciplines may be outside of the corporate arena, Into The Boardroom offers valuable guidance. Its practical advice and insights are top flight.

5 comments about Lunchtime Millionaire: A Step-By-Step Guide To Building Wealth...On Your Lunch Hour.
- I am a college student and a finance major, and although I have spent extensive time studying the stock market in class, I was still a little confused. This book made everything clear. It was concise, informative, and as soon as I start making some real money when I get out of school, I plan on utilizing the strategies described in the book. I would recommend this book for anyone at any stage in life who wishes to make money on the stock market without investing considerable amounts of time.
- I have never traded stocks in my life, or even thought of dabbling in investment opportunities. To me, investment was only for those who were already rich or extremely intelligent, until I read this book. It is a work showing that with time, knowledge and using the technology available to us today, a financial increase in our lives is possible. Great news for all of us!
The author does an outstanding job of being patient with his readers, taking his time to explain his full program and the steps you are to do to make it work for you. He even takes the time to explain to you the best choices of a computer, software and internet connection to use. Now that is one good teacher.
Want to increase your financial standards over lunch? Perhaps this is the book for you.It is packed full of useful informatin, told in an easy to understand way. Good investment for those serious about improving their financial future.
- Very enjoyable book - the first one I've read that is easy to understand. I especially appreciated the author's information on the necessary technology (laptop, wireless connection, etc.) and also his suggestions on informative websites. I checked the websites out and finance.yahoo.com is quite useful, as he said. He also gives a few easily understandable steps to take to begin investing, and even tells the readers what to do at specific times of the day. I found that to be especially useful, when to go online, what to look for, how to make the decision on what stocks to buy, when to sell.
However, this is the equivalent of a really good book on betting on the horse races. It is still gambling. No matter how easy it sounds, it is still taking a risk and the returns he says are possible are only that - they are not guaranteed. The author recommends focussing on small profits, three to five percent, but the opposite is also true. You could lose your entire nest egg three to five percent at a time.
- I notice that no reviewer has claimed to have ever traded the "system", made a dime from it, or even invested a dime and lost it. Just as well.
The problem is that if you need a book to tell you about finance.yahoo.com, it's very unlikely you'll find day trading easy--at least this year. It's like saying that getting into the olympics is easy: just go down to the swimming pool and practice, then win the us championships and you are on your way to an olympic gold medal. If you could win a gold following those instructions, you can make your million waiting for your lunch to be served. It'll be easy.
- In this short book, the author introduces the reader to Day Trading, a form of stock investing that tries to capitalize on slight fluctuations in the market over the course of the day.
The information presented here falls into three categories:
1 - How to get started. This includes the technical aspects of what type of computer to use, internet connections and software requirements. He discusses potential lunchtime locations you may choose to do your trading and how to find the right spot.
2 - How to buy and sell stocks
This covers such stock-trading specific information as on-line brokerages, fees, and commissions. He discusses some of tools that are available for the trader to get information.
3 - How to pick stocks and time the buys and sells. In this category, he presesnt three strategies. The Last Hour of Trading, Buying on the Dip and Sympathy Plays. He also gives good advice on when to NOT hang on to a stock.
This book is easy to read, but I have some concerns. I am not an active stock market investor so am not qualified to judge the investing strategies covered. But I my humble opinion, the mix of entry-level, simple how-to-get-started information (although good information) here with what I consider to be a more advanced and high risk approach to investing may lead the reader to assume it is safer than it really is.
This book contains good information but new investors should start sloooooow.

3 comments about LEGACY LEADERSHIP: The Leader's Guide to Lasting Greatness.
- Legacy Leadership by Jeannine Sandstrom and Lee Smith is both an excellent primer for emerging leaders and a strong reminder for experienced leaders. The five legacy practices of vision & values, collaboration & innovation, influence & inspiration, diversity & community, and responsibility & accountabilityare vital behaviors for a successful leader. Sandstrom and Smith provide not only the theoretical underpinnings of leadership but also the practical applications necessary for a leader to leave behind a vibrant and sustainable organization.

- Whether you are an experienced, new or aspiring leader, or someone who coaches, develops or consults to leaders in any type of organization, this book is required reading! Leadership is so much more than creating a solid vision and enrolling engaged followership. Exceptional leaders also bring heart, soul, and a lasting legacy to the work they do and the change they inspire in the world. Books on leadership line bookshelves everywhere, but in this global economy it is not enough to be a good leader or even a great leader. Good to Great is an outdated concept. Drs. Sandstrom and Smith wrote the treasure map for the new future and teach us how to go beyond great to creating Legacy Leadership. This book will have lasting impact on the results you'll achieve as a leader, no matter what type of organization you are in.

Seal the Deal: The Essential Mindsets for Growing Your Professional Services Business
- Legacy Leadership is an incredible tool in developing the leader within you that is interested in leaving a legacy to others. By the time I had read the first chapter, I had many "action" notes written in the margins of the book. And then what a pleasant surprize to find a complete workbook at the end of the book that mapped out how to implement each of the items I wanted to work on! Dr. Sandstrom and Dr. Smith have given me the tools I need to be sure I have my plan of action organized and ready to go! Instead of just having great theories alone, I have a definite plan to follow that is challenging me to step up to the plate every day.

1 comments about The Real Estate Investor's Guide to Cash Flow and Equity Management: Choose the Investing Strategy to Maximize Your Goals.
- I was pretty disappointed with the book. As an investor of multiple residential properties, I was really looking forward to readin this book, but it didn't seem to talk about things I could apply. It starts out in the first chapter with calculations of interest vs. actual cost of the loan, yet doesn't really give any real world applications for its use. Also, everything he talked about had to do with commercial property, apartment buildings and shopping malls. That's what irks me!! Nowhere does the cover say that its geared toward commercial property. Then, after the math, he go on to explain the most basic boring concepts such as how cap rates are calculated, followed by how to cut your operating expenses, and how to "find" deals. I had high hopes for this book and had ordered it months before the release date. Too bad
