  1. The audio production for my copy of How to Conquer
Wall Street was just fine. Prior to purchasing the
audiobook, I had very little exposure to investing.
    Therefore, I was seeking a straight-forward
explanation of the basics of investing. Although
certain parts of the audiobook is highly
sophisticated, the clear and simple explanations
enabled me to easily grasp the material. I now feel
    comfortable making investment decisions.

The publisher will also provide you with a free e-book
that illustrates examples in the audiobook when you
buy the audiobook. I am definitely pleased with my
    purchase!

  2. I really enjoyed this publication! Prior to purchasing this audiobook, I read different books and talked with numerous financial planners, but this was the first time I got simple answers to all of my esoteric questions. I also found it tremendously helpful to download the e-book. Because the e-book is free, has plenty of illustrations and a glossary, it's a great bonus. You definitely get a lot for your money!!!

  3. As a young professional entering the world of investing, I found the CD very informational and inspiring. I have recently begun talking to a financial planner and find myself better prepared and asking more informative questions to reach my goal of becoming financially independent. As financial concepts do not come natural to me, the e-book was very useful in helping me understand financial products, investment strategies, etc... Overall, I liked the explanations and advice contained in the CD, the additional learning tools and the overall feel of the CD. Definitely a must buy!!

  4. As an accountant with a busy schedule, I was surfing the web for an audio financial CD about investing through Amazon.com. I came across this CD "How to Conquer Wall Street". I was not as knowledgeable about some of the topics. More specific bonds, college saving plans and investing. After I listened to the CD several times, I felt like I was ready to 'Conquer Wall Street'. I would recommend this CD to anyone interested in becoming fiscally knowlegeable.

  5. Title: A Must Have.
I found " How to Conquer Wall Street: An Introduction to Investing and Financial Planning," to be quite unintimidating and engaging. This CD and book formatted treasure is a must have for anyone who seeks knowledge about formative concepts and procedures in financial planning. Unlike intimidating financial jargon that typically comes from the lips of an average banker, I consider this resourceful tool a worthwhile investment. It is packed with voluminous information that is straightforward with unconvoluted financial detail. From savings, and mutual funds to retirement, 401 (k) Plans, educational savings, selective stock options and much more, I gained tremendous insight on how to expedite a plan. I now feel more confident about my financial planning and investing. "How to Conquer Wall Street..." is a must have.

  1. If you're new to the financial world and want to understand the lingo, terrain, and equipment of pure capitalism, this book is for you. Don't let the 1991 publication date fool you. Aside from some out-of-date tax information in a later chapter, this book packs an amazing amount of useful financial clues and explanations. One of the strongest features of this text is its use of examples. Whether it's options, futures, or IPOs, the authors provide number-based scenarios to guide the reader towards understanding. This book will not excite you or show how to make $2 million in the stock market. It will help you understand many of the financial instruments which comprise capitalism.

  2. For the average newcomer to investing this is an OK book, but it does focus alot on subjects you probably do not need to know unless you plan on working for a brokerage firm. It does give good descriptions and examples of all the security instruments (stocks, bonds, options, futures, etc.) but it accounts for only about 50% of the book. The rest is in my opinion redundant to the lay-person and is in places woefully out of date (especially the taxation section). If updated, I would rate this a 4, but given the age of the text, I would recommend looking elsewhere for an introduction to financial markets.

  3. Are you getting NASD series 7 registered? For quick references and review this book will make a wonderful addition to your study materials. It's definitely a keeper.

4 comments about The Trader's Tax Solution: Money-Saving Strategies for the Serious Investor (Wiley Trading Advantage Series).
  1. The Trader's Tax Solution is a must for any investor who wants to minimize his/her taxes. Mr. Tesser also provides wonderful insight into retirement and estate planning. Well worth the price! If you are interested in legally reducing your tax bite, then this is the book for you.

  2. I just received this book this week after some publishing delays and I'm glad I didn't decide to cancel the pre-publication order. This book is well worth the wait. It's much better than Tesser's previous book. There are lots of examples and even goes into details on estate planning in addition to the tax advantages of trader's status. This book will definitely give you something to think about how to plan and do your taxes!

  3. I found this book to be a vast waste of time. There is very little of practical use to the trader. The author spends the majority of the book on his "Triple Crown" of reducing taxes. None of which you can do without a CPA. You would be better off visiting this book at your local bookstore, jotting down the "Triple Crown" and then hiring a CPA to explain it to you. The writing is poor and difficult to follow -- not because of the technical difficulty, but, because the sentences and paragraphs are so poorly constructed. Save the $( ) and look elsewhere.

  4. I own this update and his last book. Basically concepts are good and prose somewhat entertaining. However, here is the catcher. If you are going to use a CPA for doing all this stuff be prepared to hock your house and your family. What the CPA'S do not get the lawyers will when they charge you for setting up your FLP. I saw one bit of communication where the authors states that refiling was not worthwhile when his fees were factored in !!!!. That should tell you something. You do not believe me just call his office for a quote. This guy's has found the hoy grail of relieving most investors...opps ! i mean us traders from our profits !

WHY THE HELL THE GOVT DID NOT MAKE TAXES SIMPLER IS BEYOND ME...!. trust the feds to complicate anythin they touch...!

PROBABLY BECAUSE THE CPA LOBBY LIKE THE TRIAL LAWYERS AND THE NRA HAVE DEEP POCKETS TO KEEP THINGS THERE WAY.
