4 comments about Basic Beat Pair of Natural Wood Maracas (with 2" Head).
- We bought these for our toddler son, and they are sized for a child. The handles make them easier hold than a shake egg.
Great for the price. I even borrow them to use at church when we are playing music that needs subtle percussion.
- These wooden maracas are my preferred alternative to the less authentic plastic maracas that are often directed towards children. They are small and the perfect size for small hands. I would always choose these over plastic. They have a nice sound and look.
- These were a hit with the kids, even the one who chewed on the handles (6mo) - nice maracas!
- I love these, they make a nice gentle shaking sound that only wood can provide...the plastic ones I have make this awful grating gravel in a plastic egg kind of sound that's way too sharp. These are great and I highly recommend them.

3 comments about Jumpin' Jim's Camp Ukulele.
- Wondering where to go after you've mastered a few chords on your uke? This is a great second book for the aspiring ukulele player. Many of the tunes are familiar (On Top of Old Smokey/Spaghetti -- your choice, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Waltzing Matilda, Kumbahyah, and more), and are relatively easy to play. Like Jim Beloff's other uke books, it is filled with humor, solid tips, and trivia.
- I have used Mr. Beloffs books before and adore them! AAAA++++++++!!
- Good array of songs and novel anecdotes about camping.
Would have been nice if it were offered as spiral bound so that the book would lay flat, especially since it was used around the camp fire without music stands.
Doesn't give strumming recommendations. However, Jumpin' Jim's books don't tend to give this info.

3 comments about Remo 7" x 2.25" Thunder Tube, Lightning Design.
- This musical instrument was in perfect shape and mailed in a timely manner. The thunder tube is a fun way to create sounds.
- I don't have this exact Thunder Tube--lightening bolt design, but I DO have one the same size--with the Starry Night Design. From my experience, the thunder tube product is an excellent little sound makers to add "color" [i.e. unique voice] to events, parties, shows, get-togethers, rallies, home videos, podcasts, drum circles, and theater performances. With a small flick of the wrist or well-placed finger rub, one can make surprising variety of big sounds--anything from a thunder-like clap to weird alien whizzing--from creaking doors to spooky scratches or a hand saw. There seems no end to the type of sound discoveries that users can make. The holder / player can actually feel the power of the vibrations as the product's spring dances, activated by the wrist flick or finger rub. NOTE: Science teachers and students would enjoy this product as a "how and why it works" lab.
- I got this for visiting children and it was a wonder and a favorite of all the kids!

1 comments about Hilo 2652 Ukulele.
- This is a good instrument to keep around the house for fun or when friends and family are over. Nice looking, too. Since it's so inexpensive, you won't worry about leaving it out or letting the kids play with it (as opposed to a $700 Kamaka, for example). Can be difficult to keep in tune until the strings break-in and the tuners may need tightening. The description is incorrect...it has geared, rather than friction tuners. The down side with such a cheap instrument is inconsistency...I also have the Hilo tenor ukulele and I think the frets are off, because even after tuning the strings, the chords never sound quite right.

5 comments about Trophy 701 Metal Kazoo.
- Of the several hundred metal and plastic kazoos I've sampled in the past few months (not counting the fifteen wood ones and the one made out of some kind of undefinable alloy), I find this 4.75" classic metal kazoo to be the standard bearer. Really, no one has ever improved on its basic design, whether it's hitting the high notes, or diverting the spit out of the slot to prevent excess condensation in the shaft. Just like no one has improved the bicycle, wheel, or toothbrush in the past hundred years (except for lighter bike frames, more durable wheels, and the better bristles that really get underneath the gums), no one can ever top the classic kazoo for creating mellifluous, gleeful, and beautiful pan-like tunes.
- This kazoo provides a classic robust sound and has an overall "kazooness" that I really like. However, the resonators develop holes and tears far too easily. I had a bunch of these and many only held up to 20-60 minutes of aggressive playing. And unlike the kazoos I remember from my youth, you can't unscrew the bell and put in a new resonator (or a piece of wax paper). So if you like this kazoo, plan on buying a bunch of them. I'm still searching for one that is more durable yet doesn't sound too thin or too much like the kazoutists voice.
- This Kazoo it fantastic,it has that classic kazoo sound but not too harsh like the plastic ones and not as oaky as the wooden ones. I've owned many kazoos in my life time but nothing can compare to the clean, crisp sound of this baby!
During evenings and weekends I sometimes like to invite my neighbours, family and friends round for a shin dig, everytime I get my kazoo out the party starts a swingin'! Everyone's favourite is 'He's Got the Whole World in His Arms', another popular song I like to play on it is Tom Jones' 'What's New Pussy Cat'; that always goes down a treat. One of my personal favourites which I like to play on my Classic Metal Kazoo is the theme from The Sweeney, whenever I'm feeling glum the sound of that song always cheers me up good and proper!
At and amazing measurement 4.75 inches this is the ideal instrument for the travelling musician who can't afford too much weight in his luggage, it's also ideal for sneaking into dinner parties, job interviews and other social events, it's a wonderful sight to see peoples faces when the kazoo is suddenly blasting out a pop song or two, they love it! Being made of metal you may think it would be heavy but, incredibly, it's not! it is surprisingly light weight and its streamline design ensures that it fits snugly in your pocket allowing for discreet portability. Costing an amazing $2.45 this is execellent value for money! But I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, this only for intermediate - advanced player only.
I award this product five stars and a WG Sinclair BIG double thumbs up!
- I am glad I ordered 3 of these as the first one borke apart in minutes of unwrapping it. My daughter needed it for a play in which she played Tinker Bell in Peter Pan and she was so upset. If I had not bought three, I would have been the goat of the year....She has not stopped talking about it a week later and it really upset her when she blew through it for a few minutes and then it broke. She i snow hesitant to use the others before the production as she is afraid they will break too. Not a fun position to be in as a dad......
- These sounds are enormous. Rhinos are constrained, by reasons of will and thwart recording, from full performance...but this is a kazoo with muscle. Many sound effects are at your hands with a result of button machinations. Rapid fire option has benefits for the fast learner in us all. A small perforation is where the joviality is produced. I toot here, in the hallway. I am not well liked in my building. I toot there. My cherubic grassroots are young because the kazoo is instrumental enormity. Have giraffes in your pitch; use this Los Angeles product, the same used in neotracheophonics.

- Fun, easy to learn, and kind of useless. I say buy this if you're in a band and need a harmonica for a song. I learned how to play well in 2 hours. Kids will quickly get bored with this though. Buy if needed or if you desperately need a hobby.
- okay, here is my advice:buy the musicly hopeless pakage. trust me. i actually bought both sets and this is the second best
- The harmonica comes with a CD, a book, and its own zip case attached to the book. The book simplifies learning how to play the harmonica and gives a child or an adult an easy instrument to learn with out the complication. Very detailed in a simplistic way.

1 comments about Mel Bay Fun with the Ukulele.
- This is the book that I first used to learn chords when I was a kid. It is lean, to the point, and a great first book whether your goal is to learn the ukulele or to eventually move up to the guitar. There are many other books that are thicker, newer, and more modern. But few will kickstart the learning process like this one. Mel Bay was a master musician and a wonderful teacher. He still has much to offer.
